Bright winced slightly at Farris' tone, his hand jittering more. He didn't blame her for being angry, she had been getting him out of a lot of his messes lately. He didn't understand. Before they came to the mountains, he did so much better with controlling himself and thinking rationally. Now that they were here, it was like someone had dropped a thick blanket over his mind, leaving him to flounder around like an angry zombie of a dog. A dog described the way he had been acting lately quite well. One of his friends had told him that the clear mountain air would be good for him, but it seemed that the thick, muffly city air had been a barrier between him and his true nature. His head was clear, but he found himself wishing it could go back to being murky. No matter what state his mind was in, one thing was always the same. Dark, foreboding clouds loomed in his mind, swallowing up much of the light in there. He felt that he was getting worse and worse each passing day. [perhaps he was just getting closer and closer to his climax.
"Them." He repeated, his eyes narrowing. His hand stilled in his pocket, his gaze settled on nothing. They would have to set out quickly if they were hoping to get a chance of spotting them. Bright and Farris didn't stand a chance against a car. "Let's go find-" He stopped as Jack came out of an alleyway, his eyes widening. He had no idea why Jack was there, but he knew it wasn't going to be good. Silently, he followed behind Farris, He almost smiled as he realized something. He was always padding behind Farris like a dog. Always letting her lead the way because he knew she'd get a better grip on things than him. As Jack turned back to look at them, Bright's face went lax, his hand starting to tremble harder and harder. Just before it got very noticeable, Jack walked out of the alleyway, a clear order given. Bright calmed slightly, but couldn't stop his hand from shaking uncontrollably.
He stared at Farris as she talked to him, and unable to talk, simply raised his eyebrows in acknowledgment. He was grateful to her for leaving him alone. He waited for her to leave before tumbling back, hitting the sidewall of the bookstore hard with a grunt. He allowed himself to slide down, holding his shaking hand to his chest. His breath started quickening as his chest started tightening, leaving the half Thai to fight for air. "It's okay, it's okay. You're worthless anyway, there's no need to worry." He panted, drawing his knees closer to his chest. Closing his eyes, he concentrated his energy on taking deeper breaths, forcing himself to hold them in, even when it hurt. After a few minutes, it slowed down enough to cause him major discomfort and he opened his eyes, blinking the bleariness away. Bright didn't cry during these episodes. He wasn't weak 'like the others'. With a frustrated groan, Bright hit his head hard backward against the wall, letting out a sharp hiss. It was enough to clear his mind a bit, and he just sat there, his head still against the wall as he stared up at the soft white clouds, a small, sad smile on his face.
