Julian's roommate was chatting with another person he vaguely knew. His roommate, Louis Fernandes, was probably the most intelligent person he knew. He got good grades with ease, and always seemed to be one step ahead of everyone. While he was intelligent, that didnโ€™t mean he wasnโ€™t careless. Louis, unlike Julian, had a habit of blurting out whatever first came into his mind, without really thinking over it. On multiple occasions that had gotten him in trouble, and as much as Julian liked his roommate it was hard not to slap him sometimes. Louis was a tall guy as well, standing at around 6โ€™4โ€, practically a head above Julian's 5โ€™10โ€. He wore glasses that perched on a straight nose, with eyebrows that seemed to be constantly screwed up together. His hair was a dirty blonde that was straight and cut short. He also sported a tan to him, probably from constantly being outside for sports. He was the type of guy that was definitely intimidating, which was only one of many reasons Julian refused to be himself around the guy.

โ€œHey Louis, whatโ€™s up?โ€ he said sliding into the conversation. Louis turned his head to look at Julian and then grinned, slapping him friendly on the shoulder. His friend, the guy standing next to Louis, who Julian believed was named Mars nodded at him as a greeting. Mars was definitely shorter than Louis, but still taller than Julian by an inch or two. He had dark brown skin that paired well with his black hair that curled around his ears.

โ€œJulian! Hey man, I was just telling Mars about that party we went too last week. Remember how you hooked up with that girl, I think her name was Willow? Or was it Wendy?โ€ Louis said while nudging him in the shoulder, a grin plastered on his face. Julian didnโ€™t hook up with anyone actually, if he remembers correctly he just made it up as an excuse to leave. Parties weren't really his scene.

โ€œUh yeah, I donโ€™t really remember. Did you guys do your French homework?โ€ Julian said while giving a forced laugh and trying to change the subject.

โ€œOh damn! I completely forgot! Oh god, Madam Bennet is going to kill me! I gotta go. I think someone's having a party tonight, I want to see you there man!โ€ Louis yelled while quickly leaving the group to run off somewhere to do his french homework that he probably wouldnโ€™t get done in time.

Julian turned back to Mars to say something, but the silent boy simply walked away without a word or glance in his direction. Julian sighed and rubbed his eyes. Great, now he had to go to a party. He really needed to paint. He was already tired and the day barely started. He should have just stayed with Cecile and Delilah. Even if the situation was awkward it was better than getting exhausted from exchanging three sentences with a guy that was supposed to be his friend. He sat down at the nearest empty table, waiting for the bell to ring soon so he could just go to class, daydream of nothing important, and escape his mind that wouldnโ€™t stop over thinking every little thing.

grace smiled as she waited for rose's answer, glancing at her brown hair which flowed in beautiful waves and her stunning blue eyes. usually, the girl was not comfortable going out of her way to talk to people she barely knew --- but for some reason, she saw a light within rose that she has never seen within anyone else. grace did not understand how people chose to avoid rose, as she was just as bright as everybody else. yes, not the most approachable with rumours going around that she has a nasty attitude, but grace believes that one mustn't judge until they get to know someone first. grace rolled her eyes, grunting as she noticed rose's yogurt cup that she must have grabbed from the cafeteria.

realizing her mistake, grace knew it was already too late as she already asked rose if she wanted to try matcha flavoured macarons with her. and once again i make a fool of myself... god grace, why can't you just do anything right? ugh. she thought with annoyance, closing her eyes to collect her thoughts before turning back to rose who must have been confused as to why she was acting strangely. finally, grace nodded to rose's response about just wanting to get yogurt... and then felt even more betrayed by her own thinking. she sighed, stroking a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear.

grace awkwardly smiled at rose's remark about matcha not being her cup of tea, and she acknowledged the fact that she should not have assumed it was anyone's cup of tea. grace was beginning to realize that her offering of getting a quick snack before class started with rose was most likely too straightforward; then, she suddenly began to feel embarrassed as her face flushed and her cheeks turned into a light pink. "yes, of course. that's-that's understandable. i just thought because it was new on the menu, we could have tried it together... but i probably should have asked if you wanted to share one of the well-renowned blueberry muffins instead." she said softly, almost coming out as a whisper.

grace began to shuffle her feet nervously, staring at the ground as she took a worried gulp. she was unsure whether or not this was the time to leave... or offer something else. grace shook her head filled with clouded thoughts, as she realized that it would be even more inconsiderate of her if she just kept prodding rose with questions when it was obvious that she wanted alone time. grace recognized how confusing this must have been for her, as grace never typically approached rose --- but this was just one of those days she wanted to get to know her. understand why rose is so mysterious to the naked eye...

surprisingly, rose blurted out of nowhere that she would try the macaroon with grace. the blonde girl looked up in excitement, her green eyes gleaming in delight. "r-r-really? alrighty then, come on! i have a tiny feeling that we're gonna either be late for close, or for those delicious macarons that could disappear at any second." she spoke gently, letting out a small chuckle. grace could not pin point the reason as to why she was glad rose said yes to her...

    but she just was.

suddenly, out of the corner of grace's eye, she noticed julian sitting alone at a table. frowning slightly, she tapped rose's shoulder. " "hey, we can invite julian to come tag along right?" she smiled. and without waiting for a response, she quickly skipped over to julian and crossed her arms with a raised eyebrow.

"are you interested in trying the most finest macarons this school has to offer?" grace said with enthusiasm.

Julian looked up at the sound of a soft voice to find Grace standing before him. He was honestly surprised to see the girl come up to him, as she was often really timid with people. He honestly couldnโ€™t remember if they had ever spoken. While he didnโ€™t know much about her, maybe he could learn a bit before class started. Giving her a dashing smile, he peeked a little behind her at Rose would seem to be glaring a hole in the back of Grace's head, and looking like sheโ€™d rather be anywhere but here. While he wasnโ€™t usually the type of person to intrude, especially when one of the two people he was intruding on looked like sheโ€™d burn him at the stake, he was curious. It was the dreamer in him. The one that looked for all kinds of possibilities, no matter how small the odds. He wondered why in the world was Eleanore the way she was. He looked down to manevre his way out of the seat as he stood up, and then turned his soft hazel eyes on Grace one again. Maybe he could get to know both of them before the bell.

โ€œIโ€™d be happy too. I actually donโ€™t think Iโ€™ve ever tried a macaron here before,โ€ he laughed softly at himself. Making his way around the table and up to Grace. โ€œWe better hurry though. I think class is starting soon.โ€

He strode past Grace and made his way to the table Rose was sitting at. She looked ready to kill him and then herself any minute now. He gave a sympathetic smile. He knew what it was like just wanting to be along once in a while. He just hoped he wasnโ€™t ruining her morning too much. He could already feel the regret seeping into his throat as he took a seat. โ€œGood morning. I..uh..well I saw you got a letter to be a duelist as well,โ€ he said referencing her dramatic appearance in the rose gardens this morning.
