location: dormroom/outside | role: The Dreamer | tags: Arlo
A small breeze gushed into Julian's bedroom. His dark brown hair dusting his forehead as it did, and waking him up gently from his nights sleep. The sun peeked into his room, the beams of light sneaking through the curtains of his open window. Blinking the sleep out of his eyes, he sat up and stretched his back. Yawning, he ran his hand through his messy hair and looked at the clock. His eyes practically fell out of his skull as he read the time. He quickly threw his covers back while muttering curses, hoping he would have enough time to get dressed. Throwing on a school uniform and washing his face, he looked in the mirror at himself. Gripping the sink and taking a deep breath, he prepared for the day to come. He cringed at the thought of having to duel Arlo anytime in the near future. He was confident in his swordsmanship. His family made sure of that. It was just awkward. He already groaned, getting second-hand embarrassment for his future self.
He thought everything having to do with The Rose Bride was just awful. Having one girl constantly forced to play a certain part, and having people fight to use her? It just sounded like servitude. His main reason for even being in it was because of his family. They'd practically forced him to do swordsmanship, he never would have guessed it would be for this. He could just give up anytime, he didn't have to listen to them. But when he tried to break free from the restraints he'd had on him since birth, he'd always find himself sinking back down into the darkness of his mind. He decided he would have his own reasons of competing. To free The Rose Bride. And maybe that would allow him to finally be himself, somehow, someway.
He quickly walked into his room again, and made his bed in record time. His bedroom was covered in paintings from head to toe. Beautiful masterpieces he had made when he couldn’t handle the fakeness of the world anymore. His most recent one was sitting on an art easel, staring back at him as he quickly made his bed in a hast. It was his favorite piece so far. Beautiful blues, reds, and purples expertly stroked. Something else was also staring him down, a message he had gotten from his family on his phone. He had tried to ignore it for a while. He knew what it was about. He just didn't want to listen for one more day. He stumbled on pants he had thrown on the floor last night, and made his way out of his bedroom. His roommate had already left for the day, as he quickly grabbed an apple and shoved it in his mouth as breakfast. His hair was already in his eyes as he slipped on his shoes, hopping on one foot to get the left one on, and then swinging the door of his room open and making his way down the hall and outside. Where he spotted Arlo. He screamed internally. Great.
He slowly made his way to him. "Hey..Uh, Congrats?" he said squinting as the sun shone in his eyes.
