xxxKasey took one half of Raphael's hair and Lea leaned down and braided the other half, being skilled at this since she was usually asked to braid hair more often than she thought. "Keep my eye out? Psh, I can already see something from over here. Look at cabin 3. Lee Rivera and Amara Blake. Rumor has it she likes him. I don't know about him, but she's practically readable," Lea commented, looking away from her brother's hair momentarily to watch the two. It was kind of cute, seeing the troublemakers back together. Lea chuckled softly. "Maybe that should be our first mission this summer?"

xxxLee smiled at his brother sheepishly as he passed by the two, going to retrieve his sword. A part of him wanted to stay and talk to his brother, but they had plenty of time to catch up once curfew hit... If Lee decided not to try to hide out somewhere else. Lee listened to the daughter of Hermes intently as she spoke about her mom and guards. "Satyrs are a good option for that type of thing. She should listen to you. You actually know what you're talking about," Lee commented on the situation, being rushed off the steps by Amara. He'd almost lost his footing completely when he reached the grass, running into the girl but just playing it off as him putting his arm around her shoulders. The interaction felt a little more affectionate than he'd first expected, but he didn't mind the closeness. His cheeks still flared with heat though, the redness appearing on his tan skin despite the summer just barely beginning. His face went from analyzing to a big ole grin, grinning down at the girl. "I'm hungry. How about we go try to find some food?" Lee hadn't eaten breakfast (he'd been too nervous yet excited) and his stomach was growling at him. He knew the both of them would be able to pick out some food or maybe she could even steal something for him since she was pretty quick and good at that type of thing.

Something between a cackle and a giggle came out of Mickie's mouth. "You survived school, now all you gotta do is survive camp another summer." She sat back down on the edge of the porch, already feeling the weight of the winter's loneliness melting away. "Ugh, it's been so boring around here. It's just been me, Mallory, and like, five other people all winter. Chiron can only come up with so many dad jokes." She let out a puff of laugh at the thought of the additional comment, remembering the week or so in mid-December when the activities director tried a 'joke of the day' with his daily announcements.

xxxARES' cabin was almost always the worst to return to. seraphina trudged up the stone steps with her bags in tow, a smallish suitcase, a semi-large dufflebag and her purse, filled to the brim with makeup products she most certainly would not need past the first day of camp. she dumped her belongings on her bed and searched through her purse in order to find a hair-tie. she pulled her hair up tight, but fly-aways still hung around her hairline. she huffed and took off her knitted jumper, throwing it onto her bed. where to begin?

xxxTHE cabin's door was left open, a cool breeze entering the musky room. as the eldest daughter of ares, sera knew she'd have to make sure the boars head was securely on, for she'd not like an incident like that of last years camp where it fell off for the first time. she presumed it was the result of a child of ares falling out of favour with their godly father. she tried her best to open the front two windows that faced the other cabins and was only able to get one open, only by using brute force. she tucked her camp shirt into her high-waisted black jeans and rubbed the dirt and dust onto them. she returned to her bed
and began unpacking, leaving only her purse, zipped up on the bed before she returned to her cleaning fiasco. despite the cabins exterior, she didn't want any newcomer to believe that their cabin was messy beyond the typical ares fashion.

xxxSERAPHINA finished in about twenty-minutes. she contemplated a quick trip to the bathroom to freshen up before she might go looking for some friends, kasey was one she most definitely had in mind, but decided to hang around the cabin, awaiting any newcomers. she found herself gazing around at other campers as she sat on the steps that led to the door, eager to begin the summer that awaited her.

Amara felt something kick up in her stomach when Lee's arm settled neatly around her shoulder. It was so natural to him- like how so many things about Lee felt. Natural. He had an easy going grace to his movements that made Amara feel at ease. Ever since they first became friends when they were younger- the girl knew she could trust Lee. It made their friendship solid- the trust they shared for each other.

Pulling from her distracted thoughts- the girl turned her mossy green eyes up to the taller demigod- smiling at his suggestion for food. Snacking was something the herme's girl excelled at. And getting her hands on snacks- was an even bigger accomplishment. Luckily, the young girl knew exactly what they should go for. "Well. I can always nab us a few sodas from the camp shop, and then we can see if we can steal any extra strawberries from the fields." The girl paused in her walking to glance around conspiritorially before leaning up to the boy at her side to whisper dramatically in his ear. She almost had to stand on the tip toes of her platforms- when had he grown so much taller than her? "Obviously this is a confidential secret- but I might have managed to secret in some expensive candies from home in my luggage."

Pulling her face back enough to look directly at the man, Amara let a cheshire grin slip over her features. "We can always dip into those stores if you want." Snacks from outside camp were a rare treat- and expensive, luxury ones like what Amara could get were even more rare. Rumor had it- if you were close enough to the Herme's kids- they could get their hands on just about anything for you. Within reason of course.

Raphael let out a grateful smile when both his sisters came over to neatly plait his hair. Unlike many guys at camp, Raphael didn't mind exploring his style, and more often than not he rocked whatever look he tried. Perks of the parentage he supposed. All the aphrodite kids tended to look great with little effort. It made them putting in their practiced effort that much more effective.

The young man listened intently as his sisters complained about the lack of true romance and drama occurring at camp. He nodded in agreement slightly- humming in the back of his throat. At Lea's mention of Amara and Lee, the man slid his gaze to the side to look out the window his sister had motioned too. Sure enough, there the pair were- cozy as could be. Raphael almost snorted, "Oh my gosh yes. Can you imagine how cute those two could be together? And they've been like, best friends since they came here so it's like, a totally adorable story."

As with many of his siblings, Raphael was a romantic at heart, appreciating all forms of love as they came and went. He tended to have a more flirtatious outlook on relationships- very free spirited- but on occasion the young man found a true place in his heart for a sappy romance.

xxxROMAN cursed out his step-mother as he exited her car and scrambled to get his bags out of her car. he slammed the hood down, making sure to annoy her before turning his back and hearing the car's tyres screech on the gravel. they'd been in a heated argument and his father wasn't there to quell the in-fighting. thankfully he wouldn't have to hear her voice or see her face for another summer. he began his walk up to the boundary and saw a gathering of three other campers at thalia's pine, one of which he recognized as zues' son, the other as adam, a close friend of romans and the third appeared to be new. his suitcase dragged along the gravel path to the tree, so halfway through he picked it up and held it tight against the sides of his leg.

xxx"ADAM, noi! what's up!" he called as he approached the trio. when he got close enough he saw that indeed the third guy was new, not a camp necklace in sight. he dropped his suitcase by his hand and observed the new kid, his name still unclear. "i don't know if these two knuckleheads have introduced themselves yet, but i'm roman amie, son of nike." his smile was big and toothy. he added, "please don't say the shoe brand. she will literally curse you for that." in both a joking and serious manner.

xxxFEE looked up at her home for the next summer and smiled, lucky number 13, right? she flicked her hair over her shoulder and began her ascent up the stairs before she opened the front door without callous to whoever else was in there. surprisingly no one else had made an effort to show up, they might've been with other campers. she sighed and lugged her suitcase and all her belongings in the world onto her bed. she glanced around the room and found herself all to familiar with the all black obsidian walls that hades represented. her father really couldn't like, invest in some windows? pheobe sighed and began unpacking, letting her mind wander. she probably would have done better as the daughter of aphrodite, she had a better personality that fit her children. she was similar to kasey in that way. then again, pheobe was quite deceptive and cunning, more fitting to a child of hades. regardless of her views and opinions, she couldn't change anything, and truth be known, wouldn't change anything. being a child of one of the big three did have it's perks.

xxxPHEOBE pursed her lips as she looked out from the doorway, what was better right now, unpacking in a damp dark cabin, or seeing old friends? pheobe made a mental note to see kasey and her siblings as soon as she was done packing. she hid away her suitcase and pulled out her camp necklace from her smaller bag, slipping it around her neck. often times she didn't let her mortal friends see the necklace, it was too hard to tell them about a magical camp for demi-god children, and wasn't it like illegal? surely mr. d or chiron would get aggravated by that if she exposed this whole thing. not like she'd be able to show them the camp anyway.

Turning to look out the window as well, Kasey caught sight of Lee, blushing, his arm around Amara and the girl looking up at him with a smile. She didn't really like Amara—a combination of the Hermes girl's strong will, wealth, and experimental sense of style being a bit too much for the counselor—but she couldn't deny that they looked good together. It was made even better by what Raphael said. "That's like, so cute!" she couldn't help but squeal. They definitely had to do something, and Aphrodite's cabin was never known for being subtle. "We have to tease them at like, every opportunity..." she mused.

While she was looking out the window, Kasey caught sight of Pheobe and Sera—two of her closest friends—entering their respective cabins, and made a mental note to head over later. They had formed a very strong friendship over the years, and Kasey was eager to catch up with them, but she decided to give them a bit of time to settle in.

Asher automatically perked up at the mention of dad jokes, snorting a bit when he attempted to connect that to Chiron, of all people- er, centaurs. He supposed Chiron did serve as a bit of a father figure...much more than his own, anyway. "Maybe I should stay year-round, just to see that," Asher joked. Honestly, he had been thinking of taking a gap year instead of going to college, as he hadn't gotten into any of the schools around New York. "...How'd you feel if I did?" he asked hesitantly, looking at Mallory to gauge her reaction. He didn't want to potentially annoy one of his best friends by hanging around all year.

eichi smiled awkwardly at the teens in front of him and shook the outstretched hand. "nice to meet you, i'm eichi, eichi smith. my mom sent me here? she said my dad was here, and he would take care of me now.. what is this place?" he let out in a rush, then blushed, rubbing the back of his neck. "sorry, i didn't mean to say that much. i talk a lot." he paused. "camp half-blood? that sounds like an odd name for a camp..." eichi murmured. "um, i don't know that much. like i said, my mom said my dad was here, thats all i know."

xxxLea laughed softly, pulling a small hair tie out of her pocket, tying off the side of Raphael's braided hair she was responsible for. The Aphrodite cabin were known to play cupid, and this year would most likely be an interesting one. "What else would we do?" Lea commented, going back to her bed and removing the necklace that encased her weapon. A part of her wanted to go check out the arena, but no one would even be over there to begin training. Everyone was catching up with their friends. Lea still clasped the necklace, letting it fall into place beside her camp necklace. "How do you think the camp's gonna be this summer? Have you seen any new campers around yet?"

xxxLee could not help the smile that spread across his face when she spoke about the candies she'd brought in camp. "We should save the candies for a desparate time. We can't eat everything nice you bring in yet, it's just the first day," Lee commented, looking down at his friend. The blush remained evident on his face, even behind his smile and glasses. Things felt a little off still. Maybe it was the feeling of getting back to camp, or maybe it was the feeling in his stomach. The boy had no clue. "Let's check out the camp store first. Survey our options," he suggested, breaking himself free from his thoughts. He let his arm fall from her shoulders down to her mid-back in order to lead her towards the camp store, giving her a small and encouraging push. He glanced around at all the campers coming in. It was finally feeling like normal again.
