ambrosine-hélène delisle || 19
female, she/her/hers
current partner; ralts - aulnoy, ♀
location; women's toilet of main lobby
feeling; slightly distressed
tagged; open!

ooc;; i apologize for the immense
length of the post!! i got carried
away, and none of my future posts
are gonna be this long orz ^^"
this was mostly me trying to set
her up in the context of the
current events as naturally
as i could while still
making sense personality-wise
there's a couple of basic rules her mother taught her in life that, despite all their disagreements and fights, ambrosine agreed with and tried to earnestly follow them. number one; always dress appropriately for the upcoming situation. a white button-up under a cream fitted sweater and plain black skinny jeans perfectly lingered on the line between formal and casual attire, which, considering the fact she was enrolling in quite a well-known academy, rose assumed was fine for the day. number two; always keep a level head in all situations. whereas this would be a pretty simple thing for rose to usually follow, she was slightly struggling not to flush herself down the toilet of the cubicle she was currently stuck in with a sobbing ralts. she was still, however, sort of calm. sort of. number three; always be on time. and she was.

well, at the very least, technically.

the events leading up to rose's plain-out weird situation are as follows: ambrosine's plane had landed quite a couple of hours ago, and the girl was more than thankful to finally feel solid, static ground underneath her feet. the trip had lasted too long for ambrosine's personal and physical liking, and had she been cooped up in the last row of the plane for any longer, she would've definitely done a pyukumuku-esque show for the rest of the passengers. the trek from shalour to lumiose had already shaken her up to a point where she felt physically sick, and the flight from lumiose to goldenrod only cemented her motion sickness even more. despite her mother advising her to keep aulnoy on the plane with her as a way of comfort, rose decided against it, knowing it wouldn't be good for the ralts to sense not only her intestines being mixed like a protein shake but the other passengers' discomfort as well. it was bad enough that one of them had to suffer through the trip - she didn't want her partner to suffer as well.

after realizing she could be lax with her time, ambrosine picked up her luggage and exited the terminal through the main gate, eyes darting from left to right, observing, tracking, looking. the airport had a high concentration of both tourists and trainers, or at least people with pokemon. rose scolded herself mentally that she shouldn't generalize - not every person with a pokemon is a trainer, and not every person without a pokemon isn't a trainer. after all - she wasn't exactly one herself, despite having ownership over aulnoy. the airport lobby was structured in a similar fashion that an art museum would be - ridiculously high ceilings with arched, gothic-styled but still modern windows letting in golden rays of sunshine from every possible angle, walls carefully chiseled with various basso and alto friezes depicting pokemon and human cohabitation. ambrosine slowly started realising where goldenrod's name originated from, and why it was considered the city of luxurious splendor.

needless to say, the streets of the city itself weren't any less impressive than the over-stylized airport lobby. the houses and buildings, while not uniform to the exact shade, were a gold-yellow color and seemed to reflect the sunlight even brighter; the cobblestone pavements around them were tinged gold as well, and even the beaten paths made of brown brick seemed to have a little glint of gold in them. considering the fact that she still had quite a bit of time before the opening and housing ceremonies - or did they even have those sorts of things? - she sat down in the closest cafe and ordered a mineral sparkling water. despite skimming over the brochure and the site of the academy, ambrosine didn't really pay attention nor did she remember if there was any sort of thing like that organized. the only thing she did remember, though, was that she was supposed to show up at a certain hour - nothing more, nothing less.

propping her hand luggage - a laptop over-the-shoulder bag - onto her suitcase, ambrosine pulled both acelera's brochure and aulnoy's pokeball out of the bag. she was about to instinctively click on the ball's button and release aulnoy, but her finger froze midway, hovering over the button while her eyes darted once again over her surroundings. the cafe was pretty busy, and she'd rather not risk a crying, overwhelmed ralts right at the beginning of her so-called journey. kissing the top of the ball and putting it into her jeans pocket, with one hand she opened the brochure and re-read it for the n-th time today.

okay, no ceremony until later tonight. but, there was a two-hour registration and key-claiming period for the housing complex, so she should probably arrive a bit before that. the watch on her hand showed that it was two-thirty p.m., which meant she still had two and a half hours to waste. okay, two - she should be at the very least half an hour early. she put away the brochure back into the bag, crumpling it slightly in the process, and leaned back on her chair. two hours to kill was quite a bit of time - and although goldenrod offered various entertainment trough the game corner and department store, rose felt like she would become far too focused on shopping and gaming and lose track of time. cracking her knuckles, she took her laptop from her bag and booted it up. might as well get some studying done - college awaits her after this after all, and the enrollment rate is slim. plus, she's got a clock on her laptop, and the academy, from what she could tell, was not far from the cafe she was currently in.

after reading up on prof. oak's study of prenatal and natal cognitive development in babies exposed to pokemon from conception and realizing she had just enough time to get to the academy early, she shut the laptop, put it back in the bag, and fished out her wallet - in the shape of a solosis, of course - to pay for the drink. she left a hefty tip, as is per kalosian customs.

a five-minute walk later, she was at acelera academy's main gate fifteen minutes early. just like the rest of the buildings in goldenrod, acelera's main building didn't lack any of the grandeur that the other buildings had. in fact, something about the academy made the building seem even bigger in ambrosine's eyes. whether the building truly was bigger and fancier than the rest or if it was just rose's nervousness and excitement over-glorifying the academy, we will never know. dragging her suitcase behind her rose entered the main lobby, and boy - it was packed. students and pokemon of every shape and size were mingling and chatting it up in the lobby. some were standing, others were sitting, in pairs, groups, or all alone with their pokemon - acelera really was geared for everyone.

wandering around the lobby with a sizeable suitcase while trying to avoid and not hit anyone was no easy feat, but rose somehow managed to make her way to the nearest info counter. after talking a bit with the middle-aged guy behind the counter, he suggested she should start the registration process right away to avoid the mess that would come once everyone started registering at five. she gave her kalosian id to the man, who started typing away at his computer, inputting all of ambrosine's data into the student database.

it felt like forever, even though it only took a couple of minutes, but the man - yamato, or so ambrosine thinks it says on his nameplate - handed her id back with a smile.

"all done! your dorm number should be assigned to you soon, after which you'll be able to pick up your key and elementary things like spare sheets and such," yamato said, "oh! and i also forgot - do you already have a pokemon with you or have you yet to pick one?"

"i have one, actually," rose spoke, "a level five ralts. i don't think i'll be picking any more soon though, i'm fine with her only for now." her fingers absentmindedly brushed over the pocket in which aulnoy's ball was in. she had barely managed to build up a stable connection with aulnoy over the past four years, and even after four years, they still couldn't sort some things out between each other. getting another pokemon, let alone an unfamiliar one, whilst her bond with her first pokemon wasn't strongly established would only bring her more trouble. if she was doing this, she will be doing all of this one step at a time. for her own sake, and for aulnoy's sake.

"ah, okay. i'm gonna need your ralt's basic info, as well as register it into our database visually. there's been a rising of trainer-on-trainer stealing crimes, and since we highly value both our students as well as their pokemon, we try to do everything to prevent pokemon kidnapping or at the very least try and heighten our security against it," yamato explained in a solemn voice, and something about the tone of his voice made shivers pass trough ambrosine's spine. pokemon being kidnapped? wasn't that last decade's problem? as far as her parents told her, most, if not all of the criminal gangs and teams have been captured and sanctioned maximally during the last decade. johto even had the reputation of being a high-safety region. but hey, at the very least, even if it was or wasn't actually happening, a preventive measure is better than no measure at all.

"okay," rose said, a tad quieter this time, "aulnoy's a lever five ralts. female, wears a soothe bell nearly constantly. her attacks are double team, shadow sneak, confusion, and uh, disarming voice i think?"

"mmhm," yamato nodded absentmindedly as he typed in aulnoy's data, "okay, and now i'm gonna need to scan her and copy that data to the pc. mind letting her out of her ball?"

ambrosine froze. the hall was full and there was no way that aulnoy wouldn't start crying right on the spot. "uuuh..." she muttered out, "i can't guarantee that she's not going to scream and cry."

"ma'am, you underestimate us - we've had wishmurs and toxels throw tantrums so bad that some staff members temporarily lost their hearing. we've handled lots of sensitive baby pokemon, and your ralts surely isn't the worst of them all," yamato spoke reassuringly. somehow, ambrosine wasn't reassured. aulnoy could be immobile for days after a stressful encounter, and she desperately tried minimizing those types of situations to nil. it was painful watching aulnoy go trough those types of episodes. she gulped. however, the staff here was trained, that's for sure. after all, teaching a bunch of adults basic things about pokemon that almost every kid above the age of ten knew surely required a lot of patience, right...?

rose sighed. her hands got a little sweaty from the nervousness, despite her own efforts to stay calm. if she couldn't be calm, then aulnoy wouldn't be calm as well. taking a deep breath, her fingers nimbly fished out the ball from her pocket and clicked the button, releasing a string of red lighting that fell onto the info counter and started forming a humanoid shape, eventually forming a sharp, distinct silhouette of the feeling pokemon that finally solidified into a white body and green bowl cut.

"ru... ru...?"

oh no. rose cringed inwardly as aulnoy started looking around. humans. pokemon. humans. pokemon. her eyes slowly grew wide. humans. scary pokemon. weird humans. pokemon. mister yamato. aulnoy's eyes teared up, cheeks slowly turning a flaming red.

"ru...ru...ru...!! RUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!"

and there she goes. rose had to cover her ears once aulnoy started screaming; the sound was so sharp and loud her eardrums ached, and she was sure yamato's eardrums weren't spared either. in fact, even if the pain from aulnoy's piercing crying was awful, she could sense, feel multiple pairs of eyes on them; she was sure almost all trainers and their pokemon whipped their heads towards them after aulnoy started screaming. meanwhile, aulnoy jumped off the counter swiftly and took off running to the only place she couldn't sense a human presence - the toilets.

"RUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!"

"AULNOY, WAIT!"

and just like that, ambrosine ran after her partner into the women's toilets. aulnoy managed to slip into the farthest stall, and ambrosine, hot on her heels, slid inside the stall right before aulnoy slammed and locked the door of the stall with her telekinesis.

leaning against the door of the stall rose took in the sight before her very carefully - aulnoy's entire visible face was red from crying and weeping, and snot and tears started dripping down her face towards her usually pristine white robe. even though she wanted to panic and pounce on aulnoy, wipe away her tears and snot and cuddle her and tell her she's gonna be okay, she knew she couldn't, at least not in this state. aulnoy sensed and took in the feelings of other living beings around her, which directly reflected on her state, hence why her instinct was to dart into someplace where there was nothing alive - unless you count the germs on the toilets alive. but germs didn't have feelings. at least, aulnoy couldn't sense them.

it seemed there would be no end to the ralts' wailing and crying, even though they were (or at least, rose thought they were) completely alone in the toilets. her suitcase and laptop bag were outside, as well as all of her personal belongings that had all of her personal info on them. this included her id, and while she wouldn't say that she wasn't trusting, it's not like she knew anyone present in the lobby. anyone could come up and claim her belongings as theirs. which meant that she had to fix the situation asap. which essentially meant she had to make aulnoy stop crying asap. pinching the bridge of her nose, rose took another look at her partner - while her sobbing grew quieter, it was still consistent and aulnoy barely took breaths between the sobs.

"hey," rose spoke gently, crouching so that she and aulnoy were at the same line of sight, "i know you're overwhelmed, honey. i know that you're feeling everyone in the academy right now - and i know that there's a lot of 'em. things are confusing and scary and new and I'm not sure how i'm supposed to feel either baby", her hands slowly grasped the ralts' shoulders, fingers slowly massaging the tissue there in a circular motion in an act of comfort. her left hand slid from aulnoy's shoulder to the silver soothe bell hanging from her neck.

"see this honey?" ambrosine shook the bell slightly, and this seemed to grab aulnoy's attention, "there's a reason why it's here. you can ring it if you want; no one's not allowing you to. you can ring it as much as you want if it helps you stay calm, okay?" her other hand crossed over the junction of aulnoy's neck and shoulder and ended up on her cheek, wiping away some of the tears. aulnoy's sobbing eventually turned less sporadic and less intense to the point where rose felt confident enough to pick her up, sit on the toilet and place the ralts in her lap, slowly rocking her and cooing at her.

"shh... we'll go back out once you're ready, okay? we're not in a rush." well, they technically were, but none of the things in her luggage or in this academy could ever compare in value to aulnoy's wellbeing.

"ruuu...", aulnoy whined, snuggling even further into rose's arms. rose smiled at first, glad that the ralts was slowly starting to calm down... that is, until she realized that all of aulnoy's snot and tears were getting on her sweater. reaching out to grab some paper from the dispenser, ambrosine's hands met with air and plastic. damn it. ambrosine scrunched her face in a visible display of cringe and chagrin. but hey, at the very least, there was no one else to see her and aulnoy like this. but then again, no one being around meant there was no one that could hand her tissues from the next stall or sink. the only thing she could possibly hope for now is ether someone assisting her out of the situation, or aulnoy calming down enough so that she could go and clean herself up. truly, a wonderful start of her academic education.

Maeve and Mara

__________________________________________

Maeve had put a lot of thought into how this year could have gone, she imagined herself studying hard and training even harder to achieve the dreams that a few years ago she would never have thought of. Few people really thought she was serious, not even her own parents. They actually only agreed to let her attend this school so that maybe she could get a taste of the real world and be brought back down to earth. She had never taken anything seriously. Her parents found this as a great way to get her out of the house and away from the havoc that her and Mara had caused the towns people of Little Root. However, as Maeve stepped out of the train with her bags in hand and Mara by her side she couldn't help but gape in amazement at the size of the city. Millions of different scenarios popped into her head all at once, and almost all of them were frowned upon.

Mara, it seemed, had the same thoughts as she jumped atop Maeve's suitcase and sat perched like a bird. Her tail flicking around excitedly as she took took in the great sight of Goldenrod. Maeve had only been here a few times before for business with her dad who ran the small pokemon center in Little Root. Maeve began her short--but not short enough--walk to Acelera. Her pace was brisk and her legs which were long for her body moved swiftly, Mara still sat on her suitcase purring with content. This town has everything I could ever want... crowds, lots of people, and... well, crowds. She thought as she swept across the streets to her destination, Acelera. When they arrived she wanted more than anything to explore with her companion Mara and create their own fun, but she also wished for nothing but to put her suitcase down into her room and take a cat nap from her long day of travel. "Well Mara" She said with a wide, almost predatory grin on her face "It looks like we made i--" Maeve looked around, "Mara?"

Maeve spun around to find her purrloin prancing lightly on her paws towards the entrance of the lobby, sliding in behind a blue haired boy with a heavy suitcase and his companion in his hands. oh no. not now! we've just arrived Mara! Just wait a few hours atleast before you cause trouble!! Maeve thought with an exasperated look before rushing into the lobby after Mara. Mara weaved through a few students and shrubbery, crouched in a hunting position with her eyes slit and locked on a nervous looking blue haired boy. Mara was no bigger than a bobcat but thought she was much larger than she actually was. Maeve had opened the door with a light breath escaping her mouth as she gasped and caught sight of Mara wiggling her butt and then pouncing on the unsuspecting boy. "MARA! no!"

standing in the lobby, unsure of what to do next, ryuu shuffled his feet awkwardly. trying to continue to divert his shy gaze away from the crowd around him, although, even so it wasn’t like anyone could see his eyes very well under his bangs, he sure couldn’t see much. and unfortunately with both hands occupied he didn’t feel the need to try and brush them out of his face. it was bad enough that he was now in a busy city filled with a crazy amount of people, endless ways to hurt or humiliate himself, and too many judging eyes on him at once. why couldn’t acelera academy have been in a less active place? he didn’t need all this overstimulation after living in a quiet, uneventful town all his life. then again, it was probably a good thing for him to try something that scared him every once in awhile.. it was after all, the only way to get over his fears... nonetheless he wished, if anything, he didn’t feel so terrified. after a moment or so he forced his attention to drift away from his environment and turn instead to his thoughts. pondering over the possibility of everything going well to distract his mind off his nerves. maybe, it wouldn’t be so bad, maybe, with any luck he could finally make some friends. the thought was enough to make his nervous expression relax into a reassured albeit weak smile.

the nice feeling didn’t last however, and just like that the smile vanished and he was pushed right back into reality (literally.) as out of nowhere some unseen pokemon sprung at him from behind. the force wasn’t so strong, but enough to make the feeble boy lose his footing out of surprise and topple to the ground with a loud thud and a startled yelp. in response to this sudden collide with the ground, the equally startled deino bit down on his owners arm. “wah-ow! what was that? what’s happening!?” ryuu exclaimed in complete and utter confusion. what had just pounced on him, and why was everything attacking him all the sudden? still on the ground and unable to see his attacker, he was aware of the pain though, as an angry yami continued to clamp down on his arm. “ouch ouch ouch! bad yami, get off me!” he squeaked in a panic, trying to pry his grumpy companion off him with not much luck.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________
All that Maeve could do was stand with her mouth agape with her bags scattered around her. She had dropped them the minute Mara's paws had left the ground. She watched as her small Purrloin leaped through the air and admired the grace before she made contact with her prize. What once she recognized as a boy soon turned into a heap on the ground and to her eyes, a mess. She did not move at first, watching as the boy's deino bit him and he began to cry out in disdain over the action. Maeve's purrloin however had moved several feet away from the now train wreck and sat licking her paw as if nothing had happened. When Mara looked around and saw Maeve she trotted over with a very happy wiggle to her tail.

Maeve stood silent for just a little while longer, but not much, before she gave away to a fit of laughter that warmed her core and flushed her cheeks. She reached down for Mara and picked her up. She set the cat-like pokemon on her shoulder where she laid like the strap of a purse and walked over to the boy with twinkling rogue eyes that looked so similar to her pokemon's that it was no mistake they were bonded. "I think that was the funniest thing I could have ever seen!" Maeve exclaimed, her words coming out exaggerated and fast, "I knew she was up to trouble, she is always up to something, and at first i thought it would be just a nuisance to you and very immature because you know, we are here at school" Maeve never skipped a beat as she leaned down to help pick up the items that had fallen around the boy "But then she jumped and you fell over! I really was nervous about coming here, well not really, but any nerves i did have certainly do not exist anymore" She made sure all the bags were upright and together amidst her laughter over what appeared to be a very rough day for the boy in front of her.

With her cheeks still pink and warm from laughter and her face set in an alarmingly sly grin she extended her hand to the boy to help him up.. I mean, it was the least she could do. "I am Meavean Lameaux, you can call me Maeve" her head nodded to the companion that had now narrowed it's eyes in suspicion, Mara had only meant to get a little laugh out of Maeve not help her make a new friend. "And this is Mara, my Purrloin, Who are you?"

Sora— ⁰³

SORA

Iced out watch, ridin' round ten o' clock

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Sora nodded in understanding. "Oh, don't I feel that; I came here to get my parents off my back, hah! They keep on ridin' me about training this, training that, 'n I guess I came here just to see what all the fuss was about."

What that, Sora plopped onto the ground, sitting in a casual criss-cross as she looked at Ava with wide and inquisitive eyes. "Well hey! Seems we got time; everyone seems to be jus' arriving, anyways. Or gathering themselves. There's quite a crowd here, no? Not that- I think they're all too attached to their own things to overhear." She scrambled hastily, hoping she hadn't deterred Ava from sharing; if there was anything Sora loved, it was talking and getting to know people. Well, pokemon- but she could extend that to people.

"And I mean- well, I get it; sometime's pokemon aren't for everyone all the time. Some people get the bad luck of the draw, even." Sora shot a pitying glance at a frail boy who practically collapsed onto the ground, a small deino looking like it was trying to rip the boy's arm off with all it's small, nubby, dinosaur might. She would get involved, but that seemed to be the boy's pokemon, and another girl was... laughing? At him? Or maybe helping. Maybe both- she didn't want to get involved. "You got any idea of what kinda pokemon you might want? They'll prolly try 'n get you paired up with one, seeing that this is a training course or whatever."

Sora then let out a despairing cry, palm meeting her forehead with an audible smack. "Gosh, I can't believe I forgot to introduce myself!!! So rude of me. The name's Sora Shinoru! Just call me Sora. Or anything, really, whatever'll get my attention. Also- do you know what we're supposed to be doin' here? How long are we supposed to wait?" Her thoughts pinged around faster than she could blink, mouth running at almost the same speed as she moved from one topic to another.

    ʟ ᴜ ɴ ᴇ
      Oopsy.
Your vice president 18 They're some skinny kid Tagged with: Rikimaru
Babey landed back on the floor, and with a happy little "fairy", continued dancing around Tesla with a spring in her steps. Seems like Babey was enjoying the company of other Pokémon. Clefairys were usually pretty timid, which was why it made them so rare to find.

Babey's not exactly a normal Clefairy in his opinion. She's special in her own delightful way. "Tesla? After Nikola Tesla?" He let out a short chuckle. "Fitting." Lune glanced over at the two pokémon. From the looks of it, they were starting a game of chase now, and the deep mustard colored Jolteon was "it". Right, well he should probably get his luggage into his dorm room before the welcoming ceremony. He was not gonna lug around a backpack all evening long. "Well..." Lune said slowly. "Mind watching Babey for a second?" He flashed Rikimaru a small lopsided smile. Lune didn't really give Rikimaru any time to respond because by the time they had formulated a coherent sentence, Lune was already at the table across the lobby.

By the looks of his expression, it seemed like there was some sort of problem with getting his key. He'll be there for a little longer than anticipated, unfortunately for Rikimaru. In the process of haphazardly leaving his things behind, and Babey included, Lune had left them behind two mischievous little pokémon for him to deal with on their own. Babey had suddenly vanished into a blur of pink, and right on her heels bounded a yapping Jolteon.

They zig-zagged through the legs of the other students situated in the lobby. Tesla, being a little bigger than Babey, might have knocked a few people off balance.

They were headed straight towards Lune, with his back unknowingly turned to them.

Bad Electric Dog, Bad!

Rikimaru had been in the process of saying that they did not mind watching Babey, but before they could form the words, Lune had ducked away. Great, he seemed just as eager to get away from Riki as they had suspected. Dropping their face in one hand, Rikimaru quietly groaned and tried to will their anxiety and embarrassment away as they stared at the ground through the gaps in between their fingers. Their headache was getting progressively worse by being surrounded by crowds all day and they were still feeling woozy- they really should have forced themself to eat breakfast this morning.
Rikimaru lifted their head after a moment and watched Babey and Tesla play, smiling a soft little smile as the two went back and forth. It really was incredible, how easily Pokémon could get along. Riki chuckled to themself and mumbled good-naturedly under their breath.
"At this rate Tesla's going to have a bigger social circle than I do."
But it wasn't to be unexpected. Rikimaru didn't really like themself all that much, so they had a hard time believing that someone else would. At least Tesla was happy; Rikimaru would be torn up if Tesla came to this academy scared or lonely.
Caught up in their thoughts, Rikimaru had been watching the two Pokémon play but wasn't really seeing. Their blue eyes had been glazed over, only following the movement of vauge pink and yellow shapes. But after a sharp voice cried out Rikimaru blinked and came back to reality as their eyes refocused. Tesla had just barely avoided knocking someone over as she dashed after the Clefairy. Her feet skidded a bit during the sharper turns, and the size of the room made manuevering very difficult and dangerous. But, apparently caught up in the thrill of the chase, Tesla was charging wholeheartedly after Babey, who was returning to her unaware trainer. Gasping at the chaos their Pokémon had begun to wreak, Rikimaru fumbled to pull a Pokéball out of their pocket. After a few attempts they managed to catch the slippery little thing before it fell to the ground. Rikimaru pressed the center of the Pokéball and quickly returned Tesla before she could complete her lunge.
After releasing a breath they hadn't realized they had been holding, Rikimaru looked around the lobby at the numerous suitcases and cases Tesla had managed to knock over. Thankfully it wasn't much but it was still a disturbance. They reflexively started to go help pick up the fallen luggage before remembering they had to watch over Lune's things. Rikimaru would be fine leaving their own belongings behind for a moment so long as they could keep an eye on it, but they were not willing to do the same with soneone else's property. Especially someone they had just met and were trying to make a good impression for. Instead they sheepishly stared at the ground, pulling the brim of their hat down slightly so nobody could meet their eyes.
Pursing their lips, Riki decided Tesla should stay in her Pokéball until they got to their dorm. Which was going to be a while, considering how the staff responded with confusion after Rikimaru reported their gender neutrality. In the end the faculty decided to place them in the dorm opposite of their romantic interests, so they were placed innthe girl's dorm. But the staff didn't want a 'potential boy' to room with a lady, so Rikimaru had gotten a small room all to themself. Which was fine by them, they valued their privacy. They did, however, internally dread the assumptions that everyone would make after seeing Riki living in the girl's dorm. So they planned to wait until everyone was headed to the welcoming ceremony; that way they could run to their room, throw everything in, then run back to the ceremony all without anyone seeing where their room was. Not a flawless plan by any stretch of the imagination but it was better than nothing. Rikimaru knew from experience that they could be gone for a long time before anyone realized they weren't there.
Not that it mattered currently. Rikimaru let out a small sigh and deposited Tesla's Pokéball into one of the deep pockets of their oversized black coat. They sat beside their and Lune's luggage in a way that prevented almost anyone from seeing them. Sighing, Rikimary hoped Lune would just come back so the androgyne could go someplace quiet. Hopefully he wouldn't be mad that Babey had run back to him.

ryuu’s heart skipped a beat at the sound of laughter, anxiety and fear setting in all at once and hitting him at his core. there was no doubt in his mind that it was directed at him, laughing at his idiocy. reluctantly, he turned in the direction of the dreaded sound, looking up in absolute horror at the dark haired girl standing above him. he visibly tensed as she spoke of how funny his little series of unfortunate events was. “good to know that my pain and suffering is funny..” ryuu mumbled quietly to himself. as she continued to explain how her purrloin had been responsible for his fall, his face began burning a notable bright red, clearly embarrassed and struggling to react properly to her fast-paced way of talking. despite her initial first impression of seeming pretty cruel due to the fact she had laughed at him, she was kind enough to pick up some of his fallen items, and even offered to help him up as she extended a hand down to him.

realizing he had just been sitting there the entire time, blinking dumbly up at her without saying a word, he shook himself out of his daze and took hold of her hand. lifting himself to his feet with her assistance. “err-umm thank you..” he managed to say, meeting her gaze as she proceeded to introduced herself to be maeve and her feline-like companion to be mara. he paused for a moment, partially due to trying to continue to compose himself before responding. “w-well, it’s nice to meet you maeve, m-my name is ryuu itami” ryuu stammered forcing a small smile, as he then gestured to his companion still stubbornly clamped down on his arm, dangling there like a dog refusing to let go of a chew toy. thank goodness yami was pretty small for his species at the very least. not to say there wasn’t any pain, but ryuu awkwardly tried his best not to show it. “and this is yami, my deino... as you may have noticed he doesn’t like me very much..” he let out a small sigh, taking a quick glance around, paranoia creeping up on him as he wondered who else might of noticed his embarrassing fall. “...please tell me nobody else saw that..”

Maeve and Mara

Maeve Lameaux and Mara

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Maeve had stopped laughing when the boy began to speak and his shy personality and clear anxiety over the situation surfaced. She almost felt bad for him and knew an apology was best in order, not that he wasn't normal, but with any other person they could have laughed and joked about the circumstances. With Ryuu it was fairly obvious that if she laughed anymore at this boy in front of her he would begin crying. It wasn't that big of a deal to her, jokes had to end at some point, but she was still a little dissapointed that this one had ended so soon. "I'm sorry Mara caused so much trouble for you, she is kinda-" Maeve cut herself off when the purrloin on her shoulder let out a low grumble, "-we are kinda meddlesome" she admitted in slight defeat. Mara, satisfied with the answer, jumped off of Maeve's shoulder and eyed Ryuu suspiciously before walking up to his deino that he had named Yami and in her own way, she introduced herself with a low and steady purr and a slow wagging tail. If Maeve was going to make friends then so should she.

"I don't think too many people were watching... Is this your first year here?" She asked kindly to make conversation, she didn't want to say that she had already gotten the gist that he was new to their surroundings just as she was, she just hid her naivety a little better than him. She spun around to take in the view of the lobby that was clean and bright and several people stood around, this place felt right to her.
