☼ Charlotte “Charlie” Robinson - 17 - Senior - She/Her - Violin Major - Location: Lunch - Tags: Josh (and literally everyone else) ☼
Charlie looked back at Josh with the same admiration. “Oh I know! I’m so excited about this year! But also a little sad. It’s my last year after all,” she sighed a bit somberly. She cracked open her can of seltzer and took a sip from it, feeling the bubbles coat her tongue. She finished and put it down, looking back at Josh. “Anyways! What are you planning for our ‘date’ this evening?” She asked, raising her eyebrows. She was really excited about tonight. Perhaps they’d see a movie or go to some nice restaurant. Secretly, her perfect idea of a date was going to a fancy dinner and then being taken out to the Los Angeles Philharmonic. But... seeing as they were high school kids with almost no money, that sounded a bit unrealistic. So she’d have to settle for nice, cheap, diner food instead!

☾ Joseph Martin - 18 - Senior - He/Him - Writing Major - Location: Lunch - Tags: Daniel, Seraphina, anyone else☾

Joseph observed the two of them talking. Then he watched Daniel offer Seraphina his granola bar. Joseph raised an eyebrow. He realized that he and Daniel were ways different, but also very similar. They had similar interests and hobbies, but Daniel seemed a bit friendlier. Sure, he was still about as awkward as he was, but he seemed to be a bit more open and outgoing. Well, more than Joseph at least. But that wasn’t saying much. He just watched their conversation, narrowing his eyes snd trying to figure out how Daniel could be so similar to him, yet so different. Joseph hardly even looked up half the time to notice if someone was only eating a granola bar. That made him feel kind of bad, but he knew that Daniel actually cared about having friends. Joseph admired him for that. Daniel was like the nice, friendly side that Joseph never had.

xxx"Date?" he echoed playfully. "That's a new one. I think a dinner at my favorite diner and a movie would suffice. What do you think?" Josh asked politely, smiling down at her with a big grin. He was so excited for tonight, as well as nervous although he'd never admit it to someone else. This wasn't his perfect date for the both of them, just something to do on the first date. He didn't want the idea of them to be too up in the air. This would be just like hanging out, just more focused on getting to know each other. The second date was a different story though, considering that she even wanted to go on a second date with him after tonight.

xxxSarina gave the girl an approving nod when she confirmed she was an acting major. The older girl could tell. "Well, I mean, kids are just getting back from the summer break, so I wouldn't be expecting something totally great the first day," Sarina commented on the comment made about improv. Acting wasn't something that could be stopped over the summer, much like everything else at the academy. It was continuous. The singers worked on lyrics and sang. The actors and actresses could go to acting camps over the summer. Fashion designers would continue to work on new pieces. Writers worked on whatever personal project they'd started. Directors could get more inspiration for the new films that constantly came out. Dancers could go to dance camps. Everything having to do with the arts never stopped, which made Sarina feel independent with her singing. "Oh, yeah. I'm a senior singing major. I was working on a song I wrote over the summer. A record company recently reached out to me and wanted to see what I had done, so that's what I'm working on as of now," Sarina answered the girl's question. She took a bite out of the cookie the girl had given her, looking very impressed. "This cookie is incredible. Did you make it yourself?"

Done with his snack, Levi jumped up from his spot on the table and went to clean up. He rolled up the worn paper his newest drawing was on and tucked it away in his bag. It stuck out a little, but, well, that just made him look artsy right? He didn't really care either way but sure he'd go with that. Levi washed his hands and arms, getting all of the charcoal there but unaware of the bit smeared on his face.

He shook out and retied up his hair before leaving the art room. He went to roam the halls for whatever remainder of lunch was left. Yeah he was just a little lonely, though he did well on his own, sometimes company was nice. Ah well.

Tessa snapped back into the conversation from thinking about her groceries like she'd never left. The cookie thing caught her first, "Aha- gosh no. I'm a pretty decent cook but something about baking," she made a kind of silly face to get her point across. With baking, she just did not do well. Those poor, poor burnt cupcakes. "I got those when I did my last grocery trip. Just the corner store by my house I think." Tessa pretty much lived alone and was selfsufficient with her mom on tour, but Sarina didn't need to know all that.

Moving on from that point, Tessa's eyes all but lit up as leaned forward on her seat, "but that's choice! A real record company! Look at you, you're really going places." Even though she'd just properly meet Sarina she was proud of her! "It's so cool that you write your own stuff, you're like, actually creating new things ya' know?" Singers always interested Tessa, especially ones who wrote their own songs like her mom usually did. "Acting isn't really like that. You just say stuff other people come up with." She scrunched her nose, not liking that train of thought. She knew her craft was more than that but sometimes it just felt different.

xxxSarina laughed softly when the girl admitted to the cookie not being hand-baked by her. Whether or not Tessa made it, it was still good, and she finished it with a satisfied nod. The older girl giggled when the younger girl began slightly praising her for her accomplishments, her cheeks lighting up a light hue of pink. It felt good hearing these words come from Tessa's mouth, though she'd never admit it out loud. The only support she was shown was by her friends back on the east coast, and it'd been a few weeks since she spoke to any of them (the record deal situation had happened recently within the past week.) Thinking about home made her face fall as her mind wandered upon the lack of communication between her and her mom. There was still no call from her, and she doubt she'd be able to get one. Sarina slid back into the conversation with her new friend, trying to escape her own mind. "Well acting's unique in that sense, though. It's not really about the words you say, it's more about how you portray the emotions of whatever role you're playing. Actors and actresses deserve more credit than they get. I could never be able to memorize all those lines and be able to recite them," Sarina commented, picking at her lunch before deciding not to return to it. She'd lost her appetite, so the cookie and a fourth of her food would have to sustain her until she got back to the hotel.

Tessa squinted ever so slightly when she saw Sarina go from happy to sad for the smallest moment. Tess knew that they probably weren't close enough that she could ask about whatever just happened. So, she made herself brighten up instead. Hopefully she could get her to feel better if they kept talking? She scrunched up her nose at what Sarina said while she thought about it. "Hmm.I guess so. I can fake cry on command at least, that's always fun." She giggled, remembering the couple of times she's gotten herself out of trouble by breaking into tears when she got caught sneaking out or skipping class with a friend. Or climbing something she wasn't supposed to.

She leaned forward, resting her elbows on the table, "But singers and musicians have to remember a bunch of songs and how to sing or say them for concerts and stuff!" She smiled brightly at Sarina, "I'm sure you have some really cool songs. I'd love to hear one sometimes if you'd ever want to show me?" She didn't want to invite herself but Tessa was 100% sure that Sarina was really talented and she loved seeing other people's talents.

When she looked to Sarina for an answer to her question, Tessa's mental filter stopped working for a second and she tilted her head and added, "Oh hey. You're really pretty." She refused to get embarrassed by saying it out loud since she meant it, so Tessa just kept her smile.

xxxROMAN smirked at the song when josie beside him began to sing. he turned a corner, leaned into the drivers seat. his right thumb tapped the steering wheel along to the song. he glanced a look over at her as they were stopped at a stop sign again, now in a neighborhood close to his own. he chuckled and kept his eyes on the road again. he still didn't sing along with josie until the car turned up the winding road to his house. now in one of the more secluded neighbourhoods, roman began to belt out the remainder of the song with josie. he especially belted out the chorus, eventually coping josie's motions. "if we head out to the beach it won't matter if you've got your suit or not." roman remained on the winding road. "because you know i'll chuck you in there anyway." he chuckled and turned into the driveway of his home, shutting the engine off and relaxing into his chair. he looked at josie, and found himself unable to look away for a few moments.

xxx"UHH, do you want to head inside?" he bit his lip and reached behind the seats for his backpack. he opened the driver's seat door and firmly planted his feet on the ground. without looking back he shut the door and didn't wait for an answer from josie. he pulled his house keys from his lanyard and twisted them a couple times on each key in order to get it right. you'd think roman would get it right on first go, but in the presence of is best friend, and really lowkey crush, he was fumbling with house keys of all things. he finally did get the right key and the right motion, letting the door swing open, letting it bounce back on it's hinges. from his position, he flung the lanyard into a bowl by the front door and contemplated also shucking his backpack off and throwing it in the same direction. he'd probably just leave it on the kitchen island though. as roman waited for josie, the lyrics of jessie's girl still stung in his head as he hummed the tune and mumbled the chorus.

Josephine Tseung Wilder, post 9

Postby loulou800 » Sun Apr 12, 2020 8:36 pm

Josephine Tseung Wilder 🎨

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

Josie felt herself blush just the slightest under Roman's intense gaze when he pulled up at his house, looking out the windshield and back to him multiple times. Fiddling with her seatbelt, she unclasped it, giving him a shy smile. "Too in awe of my singing, huh?" she grinned, trying to make the air a little less intense. Is it hot in his car, or is it just him? Josie thought. She blinked, realizing what she just thought. I mean, is it just me? Dang it. If she had said that out loud, she'd never be able to live it down. He'd probably tease her for days, and then five years down the road, he'd probably still be teasing her. The thought made her laugh a little. That'd be typical Roman for you.

Speaking of which, five years down the road... what would their life look like? She could only hope that they'd still be friends. If she was lucky, they'd still be best friends. But she knew that with the year gap where she'd be a senior, and he'd be in his first year of college, that that would be tough for them to manage. He'd probably be busy, as colleges were usually kept you busier than high-schools, even an academy such as Hollywood Academy of the Arts. He'd also likely be living it up at parties, working on his films... perhaps even meet some girls? She really didn't like that thought. It made her want to wrinkle her nose for such an uninviting thought. He was too much for her heart to handle sometimes, and the jealously that came with it made her feel absolutely overwhelmed. Why did she always feel this way when it came to him and other girls? Why couldn't she just let him do his own thing? Being the jealous girl really didn't suit her, but, here she was, thinking about him holding hands with someone else, hugging someone else, kissing someone else... shaking those thoughts from her head, she looked back him again, to which he hurriedly mumbled about going inside, before quickly unbuckling and hopping out.

She blinked, wondering why he had hopped out so quickly. It seemed like he was in a rush, or something. If she had looked closer, she would've noticed the faint glow of a blush on his tanned cheeks before he all but bolted, fumbling with his house keys before finally opening his front door. A little confused, and wondering what was on his mind, she grabbed her backpack from the backseat as well, opening up the passenger seat door and shutting it behind her. She followed after him, placing her backpack under the table where he tossed his keys in the bowl before closing the front door and locking it. Thinking, she decided to take off her shoes as well, out of common habit at her house. She also remembered to grab her lunch in her bag, which she retrieved, before throwing it on the kitchen counter-- good aim, too, from where she was standing. "You good?" she asked lightly, still curious as to why he had behaved so strangely. She gave him a half-smile, easing into his personal space a bit as her face got a little too close to his. Realizing this, she stepped back a little, still giving him a smile, placing her hands in her suspender pockets, before all but diving to the kitchen, ready for some food. "What do you wanna eat?" She dumped out her turkey sandwich (wrapped in tin foil), an apple, a banana, and her vanilla pudding. "Eat this with me before we make stuff."

Josie had been to Roman's place more than a few times, so she did have an inkling of an idea of where things were in his house. She'd tried to explore every nook and cranny, but his place was huge in comparison to her own. The house just screamed sleek and modern; fancy and, dare she say it, rich? She didn't mind, though, as many of her friends had such houses. Heck, if you were rich, chances were were that you'd end up living in a house such as Roman's. Her family just opted for a more cozy home, that was all, and their houses didn't define who they were as people, as Roman had proved time and time again. Even though his place was flooded with all sorts of rich aspects, Roman wasn't snotty or pompous. He was really just a comfortable, boy-next-door kind of guy to Josie. She never felt the need to impress him with riches, because that just wasn't a part of his personality. What made him so humble was his ability to just be chill and kind to others. She really appreciated him for that. It just made things easier.

She opened up the cabinet closest to his stove, where she fished out two plates, standing on her tippy-toes to grab them. Placing them on the kitchen counter, she unwrapped her sandwich. Seeing as it was already pre-cut, she placed one half on her plate, and the other on his. Then she decided which fruit he'd probably eat; knowing that he already had a banana this morning, she figured she'd give him the apple and her the banana. As for the vanilla pudding, she decided that they could share it. She really didn't mind sharing the same spoon with him, it wasn't weird or anything. "C'mere and eat. What do you wanna make after?" Josie was more than eager to eat a "second lunch", if you will, as she bit into the simple but tasty sandwich. "Then when we're at the beach, we can bring snacks." She hummed, excited for both food and for her day with Roman. "I'm so glad that I brought my sketchbook with me, mind if I draw you when we're there?" she asked casually, looking up at him.

xxxSarina could practically feel Tessa observing her before mentioning something about fake crying on command. The singer was going to ask her to do it, but she forgot they were in a public place, so she decided not to do so. "Yeah, sure. Sometime when I finish one, I'd love to show you," Sarina offered since Tessa suggested it. Sarina figured Tessa would like her songs, though they weren't the happiest songs in the world. Sure, with the record deal out in the open, she'd create a few more of her happier songs. She didn't just dwell on the sad, though that's what it sure felt like. Sarina's face turned hot when the girl complimented her, yet again. Tessa seemed brutally honest. She didn't seem remorseful about the comment, either, which kind of surprised the older girl. This surprise managed to show on her face. "Thank you. You're gorgeous yourself," Sarina responded, finally looking at the girl for real. She was indeed very beautiful. There seemed to be an effortless sort of look to her, along with her energized and extremely friendly personality.

"Awesome!" New music was always exciting. Content with that she started to put her lunch things away since she wasn't really paying attention to how much time they had left and didn't want to end up scrambling to pick up after herself when the bell rang. Then Sarina genuinely caught her off guard by complimenting her back. Tessa's smile almost seemed shy for a second before it turned into something more playful. She exaggeratedly put her hands on her cheeks and batted her eye lashes, "Aww Sarina, you charmer. You really know how to make a girl blush."

Tessa giggled at her own exaggeration that maybe wasn't that much of an exaggeration before settling again, resting her head in her hands. "You know it kind of sucks that we don't have any classes together," it did bum her out a bit. Even though they had just properly met Sarina definitely seemed like a person she'd like to hangout more with, "at least we have volleyball though."

xx𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒 ─ 18, senior, directing 𝐋𝐎𝐂 ─ his home 𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐒 ─ josephine 𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 ─ n/a
xxxxxROMAN felt like a stranger in his own home, even though the pictures adorning every hallway said something different. he stood still in the entryway. what was he doing? his legs felt like bricks, josie was more at home in his house than he was. the way she moved around caught romans eye and he couldn't articulate it. he wasn't much of an arty kid, couldn't draw much, sometimes felt the only way he could talk was through b-roll from his favorite films. a breeze caught against his legs as he stayed stationary in the space, pushing him forward as he made a disgruntled noise. "guess the autumn chill has come early." he mumbled, to no one in particular. he rubbed the back of his neck, finally moving his body. now his legs felt like jelly, like he was walking on stilts or eight-inch platforms. he maneuvered his way around the kitchen island, passing just behind josephine. he swallowed thickly as opened the fridge door as he answered her question. "me? uh, yeah, i'm good. felt like a pile of bricks back there." he shrugged and hung one of his hands on his neck, scratching at the skin there. "i'll be right when i get some food in me." he pulled out a tub of plain yogurt, pulled back the lid and dumped a handful of pre-cut strawberries onto it's surface, mixing with a spoon from the sink.

xxxxxHE shut the fridge door with his hip and leaned down onto the island, on his elbows. he ate the yogurt one slow spoonful at a time, the two of them just content in eating in silence. roman felt words on the tip of his tongue, but he couldn't bring himself to speak them. he almost did speak when josie asked another question. he quickly reverted his speech and a small smile appeared on his lips. "you're always welcome to paint me or draw me whenever you'd like. it's good practice for when you'll be a famous painter." and i'll have collected all your works, was something that roman didn't add. they didn't work like that, not for them, no matter how much roman wanted it to be.

xxxxxWAS he being weird? he couldn't stop staring at josie and her motions as she ate and gathered her things. it was like a cat bit his tongue. roman shook his head as he turned to the sink to place the spoon he'd been using back into the empty basin, and set the empty yogurt cup next to it. "where do you want me?" he smirked from across the room. he leaned back onto the sink, cocking his head. there was a tension in the kitchen roman had only felt with his ex-girlfriends, like you would have to saw it in half in order for it to dissipate, there was a tightening in his chest, like a snake had constricted around his lungs, but it wasn't like the lump you get in your throat when you're on the verge of tears, it was nervous energy you have before an exam, or arguably the electricity or spark you feel when you find them. that's how his mother described seeing his father for the first time. roman turned back to the sink, gripping one side with white knuckles, "sorry," he said sheepishly, "just give me a second. i've got to fix my hair." he pushed his curls out of his eyes. "i'd not want your portrait of me to have horrible hair." he forced a chuckle, smiling for real, forgetting the swirling thoughts in his second for just a moment.
