I gaze up at the midnight sky, can't find a single star
there are times when I miss the light but I'm not afraid of the dark

SKYLAR "NORTH" ALEKSANDRSEN NORDSKOV
BETA FEMALE//STEEL//PUREBLOOD//TWENTY-TWO//SINGLE//TAGS; FAITH, LUCAS, JESSICA, LOGAN, ROSE, VICTOR, AMEX, JAMES.
nordskov just huffed in response, but with that look on faith's face she got up with another series of grumbles, leaving her half-empty mug on the table and moving to pour the brews into the mugs. faith was clearly trying to keep her busy. as if, skylar deduced with a growl, she didn't trust her not to pick a fight with the silvers. how rude.
to be fair, she didn't care, really. skylar would rather it was her who served that table than the alpha. at least this way, she could keep an eye on the guys. and if they really were stupid enough to start anything, she could tackle them before they got to her. more over, and probably more in line with what the young alphaess was thinking, the silver wolves wouldn't likely be brave enough to challenge her claim to them with the steel beta standing right there. a determined silver sentinel probably wouldn't think twice about attacking the steel alpha, but skylar had yet to see one get too close to her without baulking. hardly surprising.
would faith notice if she slipped something into their drinks? probably. a shame, really. who knew what plans she had for the stray wolves. past the fact she'd blatantly claimed them as hers, she couldn't tell.
with the little wooden tray balanced carefully on a forearm, she wove her way through the crowd of people now filling the cafe, only slowing to wave at victor, who'd just come through the door, and after pushing past a couple of patrons she reached the right table. with a low, almost inaudible growl, the scarred female dropped the tray of black coffee and tea onto the table occupied by the pair of young men. somehow, she managed to avoid spilling any. that was a miracle in of itself. coffee still whirling inside the pretty little mug, she pushed it towards the gentlemen a little more gently.
"order up, gentlemen. coffee and tea? sugar's already on the table, napkins on the tray. spoons here. anything else?"
everything my mind wants in conflict with my heart
fighting back surrender but every day i'm falling more apart

ALPHA'S MATE//SILVER//HALFBLOOD//TWENTY-FOUR//SINGLE//TAGS; WAREHOUSE KITCHEN, ROSE, THEO
they always came at the worst times. she'd learned the cause the hard way, but she doubted she'd ever learn how to read them. let alone take action upon them before things went further. you can't mess with fate.
she bowed herself forwards a little, resting her forehead against her wrist.
"no, i'm fine. really. it's just... seriously, i'm alright."
the helplessness tore her up inside.
"uh, cup, sink, table? is that what you wanted to hear?"
she half-opened her eyes, readjusting her position to look at the new deputy through a few wayward strands of copper hair. her bun must have come loose. almost unconsiously, she moved to correct it.
"I mean absolutely no disrespect, ma'am, but I do believe you had questions you wanted to ask."
i saw so many places, did things that i did
and with every broken bone i'll swear i lived

"yeah, that sounds about right."
he couldn't quite see straight but he continued moving towards the door anyway, doing his best to spread his weight out across the dubious floors and trying even harder not to stand on another rodent.
was that blood on his fingers? great. we'll have to dig some bandages out now, too. and tetanus booster shots. that'll be fun.
the team leader reached the doorway without any further incident, somehow, and reached out an arm to kat, in the high unlikelihood that she'd need it.
speak of the devil, where was vers?
"he's still outside," rian decided, calmly. "if he was up here, he'd have gone through the floor already," he added, with a weak smile at his joke. they didn't give enough credit to the man, for sure, but he didn't seem to mind being the group's comic relief. god knew how much they relied on him to hold them together, the same way he relied so heavily on kat to keep him moving in a straight line.
the dust floating in the air sent him into another coughing fit.
"are you alright?"
when you look into my eyes, you know you gonna see that fire
if you’re standing in my way, it ain’t gonna be your day

SENTINEL//SILVER//HALFBLOOD//TWENTY-NINE//SINGLE//TAGS; BLAKE, STILL AT HOME
"yes please. i'm holding you to that. "
ty yanked a random laptop bag from a nearby ottoman and tucked his laptop away inside. phone? keys? watch? check. "and yeah, victoria. you heard me right. fun times. you can see the strategy behind it, sure, but... can we just not do the thing with the scary woods, please, steel?" he shook his head, feigning exasperation.
retrieving a jack wolfskin coat - how ironic - from a nearby peg, he pulled it on over his brawny frame and stepped out onto his doormat, peering across the hall to his neighbour's door. there wasn't any recent wafts of lavender creeping acros to him, so it stood to reason that nobody was there and listening in, thankfully. though it had to be said old mrs stevens was fairly deaf and clueless, anyway, even by human standards. he very much enjoyed the privacy afforded by his room on the top floor. totally worth the three flights of stairs.
"and yeah, i'll come with you. 'course i will. i wouldn't want to go up there alone, and i'm actually semi-trained to beat scary things up. not saying i do a very good job of it, sure, but my point still stands.
the older male pulled his door shut with a faint grunt of effort. it needed oiling.
"we'll take the stairs."
