The healer looked behind her, surprised that Logan had followed her inside. Her eyes then flickered back to Faith as she spoke. Rose gave her a gentle smile, "hm, don't know how much sanity I bring," she teased the alpha female. Rose watched her former pack member as she made drinks and filled orders. Rose looked up at Faith when she spoke about the two loners that were sitting in the cafe. "Hm, interesting," The delta commented. Rose slipped her card back into purse, stepping to the side in case any other customers would come in. Stepping closer towards the two lone brothers' way. The Delta watched as the Steel Scout slipped behind the counter and began helping Faith. Rose listened closely as she kept her eyes on the brothers, occasionally flickering her blue eyes to Faith making her drink, Logan, or her other Silver pack members. She listened to the scout's report, thankful this was a little less work for her scouts if she could get this report. Although she wouldn't fully trust it. Rose's eyes flickered to the Steel pack scout then when he seemed to tense up when Logan walked in. If a fight was going to go down, Rose knew she would not be a happy camper.

I gaze up at the midnight sky, can't find a single star
there are times when I miss the light but I'm not afraid of the dark

nordskov just huffed in response, but with that look on faith's face she got up with another series of grumbles, leaving her half-empty mug on the table and moving to pour the brews into the mugs. faith was clearly trying to keep her busy. as if, skylar deduced with a growl, she didn't trust her not to pick a fight with the silvers. how rude.

to be fair, she didn't care, really. skylar would rather it was her who served that table than the alpha. at least this way, she could keep an eye on the guys. and if they really were stupid enough to start anything, she could tackle them before they got to her. more over, and probably more in line with what the young alphaess was thinking, the silver wolves wouldn't likely be brave enough to challenge her claim to them with the steel beta standing right there. a determined silver sentinel probably wouldn't think twice about attacking the steel alpha, but skylar had yet to see one get too close to her without baulking. hardly surprising.
would faith notice if she slipped something into their drinks? probably. a shame, really. who knew what plans she had for the stray wolves. past the fact she'd blatantly claimed them as hers, she couldn't tell.

with the little wooden tray balanced carefully on a forearm, she wove her way through the crowd of people now filling the cafe, only slowing to wave at victor, who'd just come through the door, and after pushing past a couple of patrons she reached the right table. with a low, almost inaudible growl, the scarred female dropped the tray of black coffee and tea onto the table occupied by the pair of young men. somehow, she managed to avoid spilling any. that was a miracle in of itself. coffee still whirling inside the pretty little mug, she pushed it towards the gentlemen a little more gently.

"order up, gentlemen. coffee and tea? sugar's already on the table, napkins on the tray. spoons here. anything else?"

they always came at the worst times. she'd learned the cause the hard way, but she doubted she'd ever learn how to read them. let alone take action upon them before things went further. you can't mess with fate.
she bowed herself forwards a little, resting her forehead against her wrist.
"no, i'm fine. really. it's just... seriously, i'm alright."
the helplessness tore her up inside.

"uh, cup, sink, table? is that what you wanted to hear?"
she half-opened her eyes, readjusting her position to look at the new deputy through a few wayward strands of copper hair. her bun must have come loose. almost unconsiously, she moved to correct it.
"I mean absolutely no disrespect, ma'am, but I do believe you had questions you wanted to ask."

"yeah, that sounds about right."
he couldn't quite see straight but he continued moving towards the door anyway, doing his best to spread his weight out across the dubious floors and trying even harder not to stand on another rodent.
was that blood on his fingers? great. we'll have to dig some bandages out now, too. and tetanus booster shots. that'll be fun.
the team leader reached the doorway without any further incident, somehow, and reached out an arm to kat, in the high unlikelihood that she'd need it.
speak of the devil, where was vers?
"he's still outside," rian decided, calmly. "if he was up here, he'd have gone through the floor already," he added, with a weak smile at his joke. they didn't give enough credit to the man, for sure, but he didn't seem to mind being the group's comic relief. god knew how much they relied on him to hold them together, the same way he relied so heavily on kat to keep him moving in a straight line.
the dust floating in the air sent him into another coughing fit.
"are you alright?"

"yes please. i'm holding you to that. "
ty yanked a random laptop bag from a nearby ottoman and tucked his laptop away inside. phone? keys? watch? check. "and yeah, victoria. you heard me right. fun times. you can see the strategy behind it, sure, but... can we just not do the thing with the scary woods, please, steel?" he shook his head, feigning exasperation.
retrieving a jack wolfskin coat - how ironic - from a nearby peg, he pulled it on over his brawny frame and stepped out onto his doormat, peering across the hall to his neighbour's door. there wasn't any recent wafts of lavender creeping acros to him, so it stood to reason that nobody was there and listening in, thankfully. though it had to be said old mrs stevens was fairly deaf and clueless, anyway, even by human standards. he very much enjoyed the privacy afforded by his room on the top floor. totally worth the three flights of stairs.
"and yeah, i'll come with you. 'course i will. i wouldn't want to go up there alone, and i'm actually semi-trained to beat scary things up. not saying i do a very good job of it, sure, but my point still stands.
the older male pulled his door shut with a faint grunt of effort. it needed oiling.
"we'll take the stairs."

After her careful sip of tea, her eyes shifted to one of the packs delta’s walking in. She returned the nod with a curt nod of her own. Setting the cup down on the table, she looked at Lucas with a bored expression. He was analyzing her. Calling her feisty made a shy smile cross her lips. Her eyebrow raised at the thought of biting into someone and tasting the blood in her mouth. A shiver ran down her spine and goosebumps settled on her arms. “I understand. I just dont like hanging around others is all.” her eyes barely caught the line of foam on top of his lip before his tongue had swept it away. “its best i keep a distance from the pack. I dont want other getting impressions of me without knowing me.”

Her lips held a sad smile but it quickly faded behind a cup blocking the view of them. Taking another sip, her eyes looked sad as they stared into the cup. You dont belong here. Just leave already. Get out! Her eyebrows furrowed together as she looked outside, ignoring her companion. How else was she supposed to deal with the voices?

Faith Conners

Steel Pack l Alpha Female l location-town, Moonlighters Cafe l tags - Rose, Victor, Logan (Skylar, James, Amex,Lucas,Jessica)

Accepting the flavored syrup and straight up goo from the male she supposed she should have insisted report could wait for a more privet location with rival pack members around. But instead she stood there listening to Victor as she worked. The young women glad that the other pack had more then enough sense to remain neutral in town so she could trust the scout to be alright without a sentinel around. Of curse if the situation was dire enough it wouldn't hurt to talk to North about possibly factoring that into the plans. But things had been, knock on wood, quiet as of late. Things had been stable besides occasional tense meetings among the wolves of Jasper in instances like this. But blood had yet to have been shed in the town limits. The only immediate threat were those whispers in the trees which caused Faith to do her best to keep possibly more along the lines of obsessive cautious contact with her pack. Thus her check-ins. Not that the brunette would ever admit that was a concern for her. Not in a million years. Not happening. The truth was though that, while Silver Pack actually honestly didn't frighten her in the least, other things most certainly did. Those voices being one of the few things that sat eating away at her brain with that detestable emotion. Hmmm on second thought...maybe talking to North about providing Victor with a companion from now on when he left the town wouldn't be a bad idea. Of course she could always call and talk to him until he reached whatever his new destination may be whenever he left the town limits for the woods. If the call suddenly cut out ever the petite alpha would at least know and be able to go after him in a timely fashion.

"New people moving in on Keystone? Thats news alright, have to pop in and welcome them to the neighborhood some time with a treat as a greeting. Making the first move generally proves to people that they can trust, or there is a willingness to get along, as long as you play it smart. Think you can get the address for me and if there are any kids?", said Faith once she had finished listening to his report. New people in town hm? It was doubtful they were werewolves or else Victor probably would have picked up their kind's scent in that area. Humans weren't as exciting as others of their kind were, but that didn't mean keeping an eye on them and their movements were any less important. Perhaps it was even more important then keeping track of their own species. Though Victor's question about the other patrons in the café jarred Faith from her head. Blinking a few times, "Oh our patrons this morning? Well the two over by the table are Jessica Delgado and Lucas Renier,. Eh. Think of them like you and Adam sitting and having a conversation with each other." Pushing the hot drink over towards Rose after having just given it a generous drizzle of sticky sauce before lidding it, "And this lovely soul is Leandro's counterpart. Her handsome escort is, again, like you." The young women gave a cutesy wave to Logan in greeting.

Logan Bryant ~ Male ~ Twenty-Seven ~ Werewolf ~ Silver Pack ~ Scout
Location: Moonlighter's Cafe ~ Tags: Victor, Faith (Rosemary, Skylar, Lucas, Amex, James, Jessica)

Logan got the sense he was being stared at, and one quick glance towards the counter area would confirm that. The Steel scout was practically glaring holes through him from the across the room. His rather neutral mood from entering the shop was quickly souring. But before he could say anything, Faith who happened to be right next to that same man gave him a wave, whether she was trying to cover for her pack member or simply greeting him he acknowledged it with eye contact and a smile that faded after he looked away. But made sure to side eye the other scout, just to stare right back and unwilling to back down simply because it was a Steel establishment. Logan chewed slightly on the inside of his cheek, attempting to hold his tongue but inevitably he gave in. "The hell are you looking at?" He kept his voice low, in a near whisper so anyone near him likely wouldn't hear what he'd said, so as not to mistake the possibility he was talking to them. But his words were clear enough that the wolves on this side of the establishment would have been able to hear if they'd been paying attention. However it was directed at only one in particular.

BETA FEMALE//STEEL//PUREBLOOD//TWENTY-TWO//SINGLE//TAGS; OPEN

the night was eerily silent. aside from the odd howl or screech or hair-raising whisper, the whole world was still.
she sat up against the fallen tree, calmly gazing deeper into the trees. the same way she did most nights these days. her arms were tucked around the tops of her knees, more out of confusion on what else to do with them than for warmth.
with a flask long since emptied of coffee lying somewhere down by her feet, a grey parka and a dark red scarf looped around her neck, she stood out like a sore thumb among the foliage. it was rarely intentional but, unfortunately for her, the beta always seemed to attract attention wherever she went. covered in scars and speaking in a strong nordic accent, there wasn't much she could do to blend in. however much she sometimes wanted to. in a world where you were hunted by both brethren and humans, it never was and never would really be a positive point.
only rising once every hour or so to run a sweep of her property, she was otherwise almost completely still; a sight, considering north and her constant state of restlessness, you'd have to see to believe. and it was unlikely that anybody would. her pack, for the most part, were all either asleep or just waking up. turning slightly and squinting back towards her house, about a hundred metres away through the trees, she could see lights beginning to come on. and then, finally, after the sixth hour of her watch, the sun began to rise. good. the night shift was over and she could go back inside. not a moment too soon, she thought with a barely concealed shiver.
it was a relief to her to know the things that went bump in the night only sometimes came out during the day.

she'd rolled out of bed and dressed herself barely five minutes before. now seated alone at her breakfast bar, poking moodily at a bowl of oatmeal, she couldn't help but pull his sweater closer around herself. though it had since been washed, it still smelt strongly of the alpha. a small wave of comfort rippled through her. it wasn't enough to dull the pain, but the ghost of a smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
she clicked her phone on, for just a second. just long enough to look at the photo of them together, only for the screen to change and show an incoming call. ty. he wasn't the only one checking in her, but he was certainly the most insistent. the older sentinel called almost every morning and every evening. it wasn't his job to do so and she wasn't sure why he cared so much about a bereaved trophy wife, alphaess or not. but she appreciated it. she appreciated knowing she could trust him. and she wished she could say the same for many of her mate's other wolves. these days, she didn't quite know where else to turn. caspian, why did you leave me?
the dowager alphaess stared down at the screen, taking a moment or two to process. she didn't feel up to talking today.
with a trembling finger, she swiped to reject the call, checked over her shoulder, and slowly went back to her cereal.

hefting the largest of the plastic strongboxes out of the back of the suv, he carried it to the door and kicked the rotting thing open, moving past it and depositing his cargo next to the fireplace. despite his strong stomach, the general grime of the place was somewhat sickening. the agent dusted his hands and uniform off as best he could, but the filth clung to him like blood to white clothing. urgh. i hope to goodness the showers here actually work. he turned to remark to either of his troops, maybe attempt a joke, but neither were there. he was alone in the darkened room. they'd swept the house before they brought any equipment inside, of course, and he felt certain he could handle anything that jumped out at him, but he couldn't shake the creeping feeling of unease. something about this place - this whole town, let alone the woods around it - felt so, so unbelievably off. though he'd never listened to his grandfather' tales of nesnas and djinn, he could quite believe them shacking up in a place like this.
"kat?"
determined not to let his unease show - he knew damn well what the power of suggestion alone could do to somebody's head - he plastered on a face of nonchalance and poked his head around the door of the entry hall/lounge, scanning the dimly lit courtyard of the abandoned cabin and the trees beyond it. both suvs were still there - slightly battered and on their second coat of black paint - and both appeared to be empty, though the arab knew he could be mistaken in this sort of lighting.
"ford? kat? sound off, please."

"i'm here, cap."
the brooklyner moved out from behind the second of the black suvs, still holding the donut he'd tucked himself away with to snack on. outwardly ignoring the sigh of exasperation from the team leader, he quickly shoved the rest of the pastry into his mouth and got back to work. having spent the last half hour sifting through the loading bay of his suv trying to find the box of pots and pans and rations he knew they'd been issued, vers had eventually given up and dipped into the box of cheap iced donuts he'd grabbed passing through jasper instead. it was barely six am, and nobody had been open for breakfast when they'd passed through maybe an hour earlier. a shame. he'd been looking forward to some blueberry waffles.
"sure you don't want one of these, cap?"
pausing for a moment, hoping the subtle bribery would work, he waved the half-empty box at the slightly older male. as much as he didn't want to share his loot, he also didn't want to deal with a cranky rian. nobody wanted that.
adrian looked back with a face of exasperation, before slowly moving forwards and taking the last pink one. "thanks." the sniper shrugged in response, then turned back and grinned as his other hand found a box considerably lighter than the ammo boxes surrounding it. as he pulled it free, the label became visible and his grin widened.
"i found it!"
tugging a frying pan from the box, he spun it around his finger.
"so, who wants eggs?"

the rising sun had brought rain with it. maybe that's why his call hadn't gone through. he frowned, resolving to asksomebody else to call up the young alphaess and check she was okay.
with caspian, his closest friend, dead and more murders being reported every day, there was no doubt in his mind that the young female was next. well, not if he could help it. though normally laid back and well natured, he'd developed a sharp edge since it hd happened, like a drinking glass forming a razor sharp chip on one side of the lip after a knock.
he put the phone to one side and scowled at the spreadsheet open on the macbook. he'd been up since four, trying and trying again to chart out any sightings of unusual people reported by the scouts, reported movements of the steel wolves - that beta, in particular - and, though he hated to admit it, any and all motives his packmates could have had. anything at all.
there had to be a way to make sense of it all.
wiping a lone teardrop from the corner of his keyboard, he closed the window and tucked the laptop away in a drawer. no. he'd do that later. right now, he knew from a glance at his watch, he had other things to do.

The silver sat enjoying his breakfast in the company of his...odd...shy....yes shy was best packmate. Jessica had a good point. This was their first real conversation and the two had both been members of Silver Pack for how long now exactly? Meanwhile it was true that the only member up to this point he'd seen her with was Blake, not that he'd tried to talk to her before much. Well really tried at all honestly. Still Lucas shrugged, "Thats up to you, I appreciate this invitation out however. It's nice to sit and spend a little time with a friend, because we are still friends hate to brake it to you Jessica, every once and awhile. Theres no denying that is there?" Catching several other scents followed swiftly by voices he knew, Lucas turned around in his seat. "Hm. Seems most of us were of similar mind this morning.", Lucas said spotting Rose and Logan at the counter.

She was always on her toes, nonetheless, yet nothing uncommon - or perhaps even, exciting - had happened today. She saw no reason to be here. So she went ahead and shifted, heading directly for town. When she neared, at least twenty minutes out, she shifted back. Even if she was always attentive, she'd quickly learned that in this life, you could never be too careful. She broke into a jog soon thereafter, returning to a walk as she crossed the border between two worlds. Each infested by the opposing species. Coffee sounded like a wondrous idea, and while she could have paid a visit to the cafe run by the Alphess herself, she had concluded that everyone must have been there as the pack house was essentially vacant. So that place was quickly dismissed and she instead went to the other coffee shop located on the other side of town. Upon arrival, she stepped into line, gave her order, and got her drink. Taking a seat at a booth in the back, she sipped at the scolding brew and watched people go in and out.

Jessica Marie "MJ"
20/Female/Hetero
Silver/Scout/Schizo
Cafe/Lucas
She carefully sipped her tea, enjoying the flavors. It was hard for her to admit but it was nice having someone to hang out with every once in a while. Now that she thought about it, she hadn't seen her best friend in a while. Also She needed to get new soil for her plants, distilled water, and more paints while she was out and about. Redirected from her mental to-do-list, her eyes looked up at Lucas, hoping she hadn't missed much of what he said. They were friends. A smirk broke out across her lips. Her moods were like lip lash; one minute she loathed someone, the next she was laughing with them. Sometimes it was hard for others to keep track and keep pace with her moods; a side effect of her medication. "I suppose there is no refuenting that fact. However, being friends come with responsibilities, i'll have you know. Every once in a while, of course." Her tone was rather teasing but inside of her, she wanted more friends to speak truthfully with.

Most of the times, she felt like a burden. Then the strange and twisted looks she got from speaking her mind. It has made her conscious of herself to say the least. Always being mindful to watch her words and actions towards other. Her head tilted slightly as she watched him turn in his seat to look at the other silvers that came in just moments before. "Rainy days are meant to be huddle around others. Grey days can often be depressing and the mind wants to be occupied with someone else to fill that lonely feeling." She hadn't realized till she was taking a sip of tea that she left her words slip. Her eyes were a bit wide. So she just tried to her best to stare into her mug, as if focusing on something at the bottom.

"Anything well worth the effort is work though no matter what it may be. Thats something that never changes. After that it was right back to the sentinel's useual stoic calm demenor again. "You're not half bad for morning company Jessica. Plus you are the one that asked me if I wanted to come remember? I didn't just invite myself along." The young man let out a breath setting down his now empty cup with the exceptions of thick traces of coffee left behind in it's bottom. "That hit the spot speaking of rainy days. As much as I hate admitting it coming here is nice."
