Introduction
1394 AA / Present Day

His eyes were wide and bloodshot, darting in the direction of the slightest sound. I watched as he stood there, picking at a scab on his left elbow, tapping his foot, and fidgeting impatiently. From the east, a short man, no a dwarf, comes into view. The man flinches as he sees him. He seems hesitant, but does not appear to feel threatened by the short being before him. The dwarf begins to talk in low grumbles, inaudible from my distance. I lean in closer, my foot squishing against the mud as my weight shifts. Reluctantly, the man pulls something from his pocket. It is a small vial filled with a glowing blue liquid: magic. The dwarf seems pleased at the sight of this. He reaches for the vial but the man jerks back. The man begins speaking quickly, but is cut off by the clean slit of a dagger through his throat. I turn away. I need to get out of here, but I stand too quickly and slip on the wet soil beneath me. Thud. My body tenses, heart races, and I hear the sound of blood pounding in my ears. Did he hear me? I peek around the corner and he is no longer there. He must of fled after taking the vial. I let a small sigh of relief escape me, but as I turn my head back around, my heart drops. Standing before me is the last thing I will ever see: the twisted smile of a magic-thirsty dwarf.

INCOMPLETE Variants of Magic

SEMI-LIT ROLEPLAY

Variants of Magic

Magic is a rare mutation that runs through the blood of those who possess it. Because the magical beings are always producing blood, they never run out. Many people seek this magic and so take the blood of others and drink it to obtain said magical powers. Unfortunately, the magic that is consumed by those who do not produce it will only last for a limited amount of time.

Blue Magic
Blue magic, although still very rare, is the most common type of magic. People who possess blue magic have extraordinary healing powers. They can speed up the healing process for themselves and heal others through touch. They also have the ability to manipulate water. However, using blue magic drains the user of energy, and if the user produces this magic on their own (isn't from someone else), they can become very weak and sick if they overexert themselves. Blue magic users stereotypically are sympathetic, honest, and naive. Blue magic is naturally found in humans, sea creatures, unicorns, and mermaids.

Red Magic
Red magic gives one the ability to manipulate their own body heat. They can create small heat waves from their bodies that could be deadly to others, but red magic users have such a high heat tolerance that the heat has hardly any effect on them. Red magic users can also emit a translucent gas from their pores that is very deadly to others. Unfortunately, over time this toxic gas begins to have a significant effect on themselves if used too often. Red magic users stereotypically are quick to anger, act before thinking, and passionate. This type of magic is naturally found in humans and dragons.

Green Magic
Green magic can speed up the growing process and so magical users of this kind often garden. They absorb energy from the air that makes them hyper and those around them feel drained. They're hardly tired and if they don't get enough exercise they may start shaking or get a migraine. Green magic users are stereotypically friendly, impatient, and cowardly. Green magic is naturally found in humans, unicorns, animals, and humanoid creatures.

Yellow Magic
Yellow magic gives the user enhanced senses: sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. They also have the ability to speak to animals. Yellow magic is the only magic that cannot be controlled, for it is always active. Yellow magic users are stereotypically intelligent, observant, and loyal. Yellow magic is found naturally in humanoid creatures and animals.

Purple Magic
Although all magic is rare, purple is by far the rarest. Purple magic users can change their skin color to camouflage themselves among their surroundings. Their skin can also be luminous at will, so you can alter the shape of your shadow by making some parts of your body dimmer or brighter than others. In addition to this they have night vision. Purple magic users are stereotypically sneaky, observant, and loners. What is unique about purple magic is that it is only naturally found in animals, though sometimes they can be found in humanoid creatures as well.
