( species werewolf ) ( location pack house, clearing ) ( tagged maverick, the pack )

xxxxa crying bundle of beauty, set into the arms of the debilitated woman that was sprawled over the hospital bed. a tender smile grew on her sweat-soaked face at the sight of her newborn. the baby curled in white cloth shrieked until the comforting voice of the woman sang in his ears."oh.. shhh, now, it's alright.."the woman cooed,"my beautiful baby.. my beautiful ozmen.."she breathed with astonishment. everything in this current moment felt right. the whole world was right, now.
        but the woman wasn't.
xxxxshe was in pain, a seeming eternal clutch on her heart and whole body. during the delivery, she knew she lost a lot of blood, yet tried her best to deny all of the facts. the nurses that circulated the bed grinned down at the newborn, but their eyes shone with a deep sadness they couldn't reveal to her. she was aware of her fate, though.
they didn't need to say a word.
xxxxthe woman returned her gape down on her son, a smile filled with so much love radiated off her pale features. the baby only moved his head ever so slightly."i love you so much, ozmen.."she uttered into his ear, kissing his forehead. her lips trembled against the baby's skin, tears slowly pooled and trickled down her already wet cheeks."i love you."she choked back sobs. and like that, this beautiful fantasy blackened into an abyss. those last words echoed forever on,

        xxxxxi love you.

        xxxxxxxi love you.

        xxxi love you.

xxxxa hitched gasp escaped from his throat and his eyes shot open. he stared at the ceiling of his room with a daze, processing the dream that has reoccurred before. each one had little segments and pieces he would later forget, but last night it seemed that the dream was full. ozmen sat up in his bed, slouching and rubbing his eyes with the back of his hands. birds tweeted and chirped outside of his window, and the sun's rays peeked into his room through the spaces between his curtains.
xxxxozmen stretched his arms over his head and forced himself off his bed. he shook off his heavy body and his heavy thoughts. he paced towards the window to swing open the curtains. the mighty sun blazed with a tranquil morning breeze. a day to conquer, ozmen knew and beamed at the possibilities of today.
xxxxafter a quick dress-up, the werewolf trotted down the stairs and into the kitchen where he noticed the pack socializing in. oz blissfully greeted and weaved around them to swiftly grab a slice of toast off of eddy's plate. he bit down on the toast and winked playfully at the beta, knowing damn well he wouldn't be happy with his thievery. oz could care less, though. that was the fun part of messing around with this toughened beta, getting his reaction. after a good stolen breakfast, maverick decided on a morning stroll, and ozmen was up for the idea. it was a beautiful day so why waste it? besides, that exhilarated beast inside of him begged for a good run.

xxxxsprinting through the woods, oz felt the wild gale tousle his dense, black and brown coat. the feeling of the wind weaving through each one of his hairs was enough to make him run faster, it was all enough to make him feel that freedom he adored. his paw pads bounced vigorously against the earth's soft crust, carrying him further from his tight pack. although, he would come back just as quick. he was aware that he shouldn't be venturing off from the others, yet a small run like that wouldn't be any trouble.
xxxxozmen entered back into the clearing where he met drayton, eddy and logan, maverick was probably taking ahead into the patrol for some reason only an alpha would know. the black-haired man soon transfigured back into the humane version of himself, a crackling of bones echoed throughout the clearing in the process. it didn't hurt when he shifted, but the sounds and feeling of his bones arranging back into the human skeleton was enough to make him grind his teeth together.
xxxx"yeesh!"oz twisted his head to shake off the uneasy aftershock of transitioning. he felt better within the next seconds. the hunter placed his hands on his hips, and his eyes wandered around the forest. he could sense birds perched on high tree branches, and squirrels skittered across the forest floor, and deer munching on grass. he also sensed maverick's presence arriving back to him and the rest. oz was the first to lay eyes on the alpha who was still in his grand wolf shift. it didn't take long for him to recognize that and he too transformed into a human. the hunter drew closer to maverick,"morning, mav."oz flashed a toothy grin. he noticed the dirt and water on his body which made him squint with a certain suspicion."what in the world were you doing? a dust bath?"he snarkily remarked. he would offer a tissue to add to the mocking effect, none were on him though.
xxxxhis alpha's request made him cock an eyebrow, a hunt with the whole pack? well, the more the merrier, he supposed, but overall oz has never been asked for something like this."a hunting party? with all of us? you sure? what if drayton's gonna threaten each prey we find, he'll scare them off!"ozmen razzed with clear mischief. of course, he was a hunter, that was his role in the pack, but being a little demon was also his role. it wasn't very appreciated especially by drayton and eddy, yet again, oz could care less. he obeyed and spun on his heel to walk off from maverick.
xxxxapproaching the small group of werewolves, oz crossed his arms."let's go hunting, boys, and if you're wondering, no it wasn't my idea, it was mav's."

Cherry had only been restacking books for a few minutes when the pinging of her phone relayed that she had received a text back from Arielle, the girl was on her way and if Cherry knew her as well as she thought she did, she would literally be here in a few. She dusted her hands off gently and then made her way to the front desk to find the book that she had kept aside for the girl, she had had a feeling that Arielle would be interested after all. She tucked the book inside a paper bag with a smile when she heard the tinkling of the tiny bells which indicated that someone had walked in. She met Arielle as she came towards her and warmly returned her welcoming hug. "Morning Ari, I do indeed, how do you feel about this gorgeous little tome?" she smiled and handed the girl the paper bag, "Ooh, careful, it's quite heavy!" she giggled. As she awaited Arielle's verdict she set about tidying the front desk a little more and looked at the clock. "Oh wow! It seems I've passed more time with these books than I thought!" she chuckled "You working today Ari? I have lunch in about an hour, fancy meeting up in the diner after you've finished with your run?" she smiled warmly, it would be nice to spend lunch with the girl and catch up about life outside of the walls of the bookshop. Besides, in the sleepy town of Pine Falls, people would know that if she wasn't at the bookstore and they needed her that they would only need to pop into the diner to grab her.

She reckoned that she could probably get all of the new books shelved by the time her lunch break rolled around and so she set to sorting and shelving again, calling a goodbye to Arielle as she went for her run and then getting her head down and speedily working through the books in her piles. Before long, she had managed to shelve all of them and she cast her gaze around the bookstore with a satisfied smile. She took pride in keeping the shop looking neat and tidy and she knew that the owners of the store appreciated it too. She glanced up at the clock and started writing a note "If you need anything, please find Cherry in the diner!" she popped the sign up on the door and then locked up and took a stroll towards the diner ready to meet Arielle.

Cherry walked through the doors and glanced around the diner, it seemed pretty busy today! She spotted a small booth big enough for herself and Arielle and she hurried over, popping her bag down on the seat next to her and allowing herself to lean back and take a moment for herself. She looked around the diner and smiled when she recognised the waitress, her name was Emma she thought, but she didn't know her all too well, only from being in the diner. Another girl caught her eye from the table only metres away from where she herself was. The girl was seemingly engrossed in her phone but Cherry was sure that she was well aware of what was going on around her. She smiled to herself, she loved living in such a small town. It was nice to go somewhere and still be surrounded by somewhat familiar faces. Times like this helped her forget that she was miles away from where she used to live. It had been a few months since she'd moved out and she had honestly no idea about the situation she had left. Her mother had never made the attempt to reach out and contact her and with her father being in jail, he wasn't exactly going to send a letter. Not that he even knew where she was. She sighed, she was safer here, luckily as far as she knew, none of the mafia family that her father had been involved with knew of her whereabouts, they also didn't seem too bothered about finding her either way. Cherry made an effort to push the negative thoughts from her head and picked up a menu, scanning the delicious items to decide what she wanted to eat today.

    ○──────────────────────────────────────○

The book was heavy indeed but the weight of it brought a bright smile to her face, rounding her cheeks and peeling back part of the bag to peek inside. The book was old indeed, the pages aged into a light coffee color, their edges littered with small superficial tears and crags, and all of the pages bound in a leather casing. Time had been kind to the book and the appearance of it riddled her with excitement to read it. To peel back the pages and learn what had been scrawled onto its pages. Due to her fascination with the old books she'd forced herself to learn Latin, though she couldn't speak it she was able to decipher what it meant. To the untrained eye some of the books would be half-filled with nonsense, scrawlings of someone gone mad halfway through writing it but for Arielle the pages were filled with a hidden world, new knowledge to be untapped and this book would be the perfect addition to her collection. "Oh he's lovely. It's a perfection addition to the collection, couldn't have come at a better time too. I've just finished the book from when I first came by." Her face was light with a gentle smile, propping the book up on he hip in a similar fashion that a mother would hold her child. She used her free hand to peel back the case from her phone, pulling out a small wad of cash and giving it to Cherry in return for the book.

Her gaze flitted to the clock as Cherry noticed the time before looking back at her and nodding, "They have me coming in just before two. I think Ms. Jones wanted to take the morning crowd for pastries to get out of her house for abit." Her tone was soft as she spoke of the elderly woman. She was sweet, easily in her late sixties and recently widowed as Arielle had come to learn. Ms. Jones spent a lot of time in her little home just outside the city, the floral shop likely a bittersweet reminder of her late husband Archie. Arielle couldn't blame her for it, seeing as she'd likely be the same way if she lost someone she had loved for that long- not to mention she'd been hired by Ms. Jones as she couldn't handle the shop alone. For a bit she mulled over Cherry's offer before she smiled seeing as she'd only had an apricot for her breakfast she was sure after her run she'd be famished. "I'd love to, I'm taking a new trail up near the mountains and woods. So, if i don't come back for lunch come looking." She laughed as she finished, kidding of course as she returned the warm smile. Lunch with Cherry would be nice, to talk outside of the bookstore or floral shop about things other than well... books. Then again who could blame them for only talking when they were at eachothers places of work? They were both still getting their bearings considering they'd only been here for less than a month. Though now as things were beginning to normalize and settle they had time to actually plan little things which was nice.

A fluttering gaze was set on the clock now and she huffed softly at the time. She'd need to get along soon or she'd be out running when it was starting to heat up and she didn't quite feel like dashing home to shower afterwards. With a warm smile she took her leave, patting the counter top with her fingers, "I'll see you come lunchtime bye girlie!" Offering a small wave she left the bookstore approaching her bike that was slumped against the side of the building and putting the bagged book in the small basket that held a change of clothes. As the sun began to beat down on the small town she pulled off the loose tanktop that was over her sports bra and made her way towards the trail. She always made sure to wear the tanktop if she had to run errands before a run, seeing as wearing just a sports bra and leggings wasn't something you'd typically wear to do anything other than workout. It wasn't but a few moments until she was at the start of the trail and she hopped off her light yellow bike, letting it slump against a tree as she grabbed her phone and earbuds. She stood for a few moments, stretching and putting on her favorite playlist: Good Vibes on as she popped one earbud in before taking off.

The trail was wide at first, open as it began to climb into the mountains and dense forestry. What was a large path well trodden began to thin to a size just big enough to fit two runners scattered with gnarled tree roots and shade speckling the trail. Arielle wasn't particularly aware of the dangers that could be had in the mountains, figuring if there was anything that was a specific threat to her life there'd be a sign on the trail but her eyes kept locking onto what she thought were large paw prints scattered here and there before dispersing into the trees and lost among the fallen leaves, twigs, and the likes. She brushed it off while she wasn't particularly well versed in animal prints and what animal left what she assumed they were nothing more than a coyote, y'know the little guys. Usually she wouldn't take forest trails, particularly ones that began to darken the farther and farther along she got into it but something pulled at her to draw her farther into the dense woodlands and mountains, a strange feeling that zipped along her spine and left her fingers tingling faintly. She slowed to a jog now, her tousled red locks falling against her back as she continued. The trail would eventually look around perhaps another mile or two before she'd return to the city and join Cherry for lunch. Though as she continued she sang along to the music she'd been listening to softly.

Drayton Severin
The simplicity of being unknown and forgotten....

I am~ ”Traveling through the forest.”
Feeling~ ”Apathetic.”
Role ~ ”Scout.”
Tagged~ Arielle, Maverick, Ozmen

Cold wisps of air slithered it's way through the forests and rustled a large brute's pelt as he raced through the forest. His paws pounded underneath him and sent small vibrations into the earth below, startling small critters and insects as the predator made his way through. With ease the werewolf weaved through the bare trees and blended in with the shadows casted by the trees, providing protection and cover for him. Slowly he eased his pace and came to a halt as he perked his gray and tan colored ears up in high alert. Staying stock still, Drayton raised his snout towards the sky and inhaled. Pine trees, musky animal scents and the ever so faint smell of human entered his nostrils. He was rather close to the hiking trails the humans liked to use in the forest and that led up to the mountain. Usually they stayed close to the trail, but there were a few that liked to go off the beaten path and instead create their own through the forest. Drayton always had to keep an eye out for those few, constantly scouting around to see where the new human trails were and do what he could to veer them away from the pack's territory. Last thing they needed was a human accidentally stumbling upon them. Huffing quietly to himself the brute continued on his path, steps light and silent as he made his way along.

Everything was going as it usually did, calm and no issues during his patrol, but that soon came to an end.

Abruptly coming to a stop a feral growl ripped through his vocal chords, sharp yet sweet scent slamming into his senses. His nostrils flared, ears swiveling in multiple directions as his head moved around- searching. The smell of lavender and vanilla lingered in the air, gently being carried by the wind and towards him. Drayton snarled slowly, his insides feeling clawed at and ripped apart. It called to him. Urged him to seek out the source. It was an innate craving that he had to fulfill and it wasn't going to leave him alone until he did. Shaking out his ruffled fur the brute sighed to himself and began tracking down the scent, curiosity and instinct winning this round.

It was an easy feat for him to track down the scent, the wind constantly blowing it towards him and it practically clung to the trees. Drayton slowly eased his pace, ears pricked up when he started to hear the faint melodies of someone singing. Their voice was soft and chiming, like a bell. Chest rumbling he began to inch forwards, his paws placed carefully in order to not give away his position. Slowly he broke through the tree line and rose up to his full height, head canting to the side as his bright amber eyes fell onto the red headed female jogging towards him. His body quivered, fur bristling in reaction to his instincts insistently roaring at him. Closer, closer. Still partially hidden away by the shadows of the forest the brute lowered his head and observed. She seemed oblivious at the moment, seemingly enjoying her jog as she listened to music. Her voice chiming out as she sang along to the words. What he previously feared has now been confirmed. The reasons as to why he felt drawn towards the nearby town. It was all her. The human he was now bound to. He was well aware of the tellings within the werewolf world, of how each of them had an intended soul they were bound to. A soul that would fill the void within them, but it was spoken that it was near impossible to be bound with a human. It was considered taboo. Yet here he stood, feeling the draw towards her as if there was string tying them to one another.

His paw step forwards, a twig snapping underneath the force. Ears pinned back Drayton released a low rumble from his chest. He hadn't even realized he had taken a step forward. He needed to leave, now before he did something he would soon regret. Not that he would ever do anything to harm his mate, but he just couldn't risk exposing himself this soon. With that, the wolf casted one last glance in her direction before silently slinking back into the shadows of the forest and walked away, back to his pack.

Eventually, almost in a daze Drayton made it back to the heart of his pack's territory. Entering the clearing, hollow amber eyes fell onto Maverick and Ozmen who were already there, conversing loudly about what sounded like a hunt. Heading towards them he released a low growl towards the hunter, jaws playfully snapping in his direction in reaction to his words. Him scare off the prey? That was the least likely thing to happen. Drayton was the most silent werewolf in the pack, both in movements and vocal wise. Shaking his head lowered himself onto his haunches, sitting down as a yawn coursed through him, maw parting open wide. A pack hunt would do some good for them. It would help distract him from his encounter in the forest. At this moment he needed all the distractions in the world.

' ✦ ' ─── ❝ hermione chase ─ 001

Postby winterfell. » Mon Jul 22, 2019 12:51 pm

        ⋆ -- ( HERMIONE ) ─────────────────────────────────
        [ location : diner ] [ bound to : maverick ] [ tagged : open ] [ 1060 words ]

          - - - - -Hermione and her father weren't close during his final years. In fact, the only real communication they had was the occasional Christmas card, which usually alluded to her being a traitor to her family in the message. She had made peace with the idea of never returning to Pine Falls, never seeing her family again and making a new life for herself. But that dream -- or goal, more or less -- was slowly crumbling away, she realized, as she stood at her father's grave for the third time since the funeral. As she stared at her father's name, the one carved beneath a rendering of her family crest, she felt a heavy wash of responsibility. She didn't feel responsible for her father's death -- his heart failure was to blame for that -- but she felt responsible for losing touch with her roots. She felt an odd desire to stay here, despite never being fond of her hometown, to take up her family legacy once more. The humans of this town needed protection. The weak needed a source of strength. Jameson Chase had been that for many years, but with her mother in a depression, there was no one there to take his place. A burden suddenly thrust upon her shoulders, Hermione figured she'd have to be what Pine Falls needed. With a sigh, she turned away from her father's grave, making a silent vow to never return to it.

          - - - - -However, making a dramatic inner promise to take up hunting beasts again didn't require much in the way of immediate action. She still had a life to live, after all. And a stomach to fill. But she didn't want to walk into the local diner -- and old stomping ground for her -- in her all-black attire. It had been days since the funeral and Hermione was never one to be in mourning. She made the short walk back to her family home, ignoring her mother's political rants at the newsman on television, as she made her way into her childhood room. She wished she could say that her parents were the type to leave everything the way it was when she felt during her teen years. But that wasn't the Chase way. The family prided themselves on their ability to move on, to reject sentiment beyond family history. Once she betrayed the family, she was no longer a part of that sentiment. So her old room had been all but completely renovated, now a home for a lot of the family's weaponry, designs for new guns and explosives, and volumes of useless, heavily biased family history. Her old bed was gone. Instead, she'd been sleeping on an air mattress amidst the mess her father had left her. Her dufflebag held all of the belongings she brought from her studio apartment in the nearest major city. She changed from her funeral attire into something much more casual -- something with a little color so as not to wear her solemnity on her sleeve. Dark wash jeans and a white t-shirt with a green flannel jacket would suffice, she supposed. She threw her hair into a pony tail, slipped a knife into her boot, and threw on her silver necklace and rings. It seemed excessive, now that she thought about it, but she could never be too careful. She also told herself to stop by the local flower shop and inquire about wolfsbane. Now that she was hunting again, she needed the flower handy.

          - - - - -She quietly left the house again, her mother never looking away from the television or doing anything to acknowledge her existence. It should have hurt more, she thought. It should hurt that her mother didn't particularly enjoy her company, or that she had no relationship with her father when he died. But it didn't. The past was important, sure, but the future was what mattered. Appealing to her petty savior complex was more important to her than mending any bonds between her and her family. She wasn't fighting for the family legacy. If she wanted that, she would have taken up the family business like her mother asked her too. She would be improving on her father's designs and building prototypes for new weapons. The legacy didn't matter. What did matter, was that she could use her strength, her knowledge, to keep the people of her hometown safe. She was the first to admit it was less about making anyone proud, and more about giving herself purpose in the wake of
what should have been a tragedy.

          - - - - -Her stomach rumbled again as she walked through her hometown. Despite her family trying to erase her memory from the Chase Estate, the actual town of Pine Falls hadn't changed much. It was still the home to travelers, to runners. Only a few of the family had lasting legacies within the city limits. The trees were familiar, as was the faint scent of pine for which the town was named. Many of the houses looked the same. The roads still haven't been repaved from her childhood. It was haunting, honestly, like walking in a dream right before it turns into a nightmare. But regardless of the odd pang of dread that rang through her, she persisted. She attributed her uneasiness to the fact that everyone grieves differently. Surely, she'd be over all of this soon. She might even feel better after grabbing a quick bite to eat.

          - - - - -She walked through the doors of the diner, recognizing a few of the customers from her childhood. This place was full of regulars, mostly because it was one of the only eating establishments in Pine Falls. One of the others was the bar and grill where Hermione was going to try and find work, but it didn't open until later in the evening. She straightened her shoulders, searching for an empty table among the massive crowd the diner had drawn in that day. While she recognized a few of the regulars -- family friends, high school classmates, etc. -- there was a number of new faces. This wasn't unusual for a place like Pine Falls, but it still made her feel a bit uneasy. Even the new people seemed as though they recognized each other, yet here she stood, a local with an extensive family history in the town, and she felt like she was least familiar person in the room.

' ✦ ' ─── ❝ eddy (01) ─

Postby Kim Jongdae » Mon Jul 22, 2019 1:35 pm

DO-YOUNG "EDDY" LEE
darlin' don't be afraid
─────────────────────────────────────────────────

tagged, ozmen, the boys™|oc, just catching up to speed, lmk if there's something wrong lmao, btw shoutout for oz, bless your tag, 1,033 words

A hearty stretch and a groan of approval leaves parted lips before the beta of the pack hums contently and turns over from his back onto his stomach. His toned arms meant muscles under smooth stretches of skin flex in time with his movements as he stretched upwards towards his pillows, before bringing them back down to hug the plush material tight underneath his head. Bearing his bad habit in mind, the beta- Eddy, had decided to laze late into the morning today, having decided there wasn't anything urgent to take care of and a relax day could probably do the usually disciplined man some good.

However, as typical as Eddy could become in staying true to himself, soon the time spent in his duvets began to make him itch- antsy to get ready and make something of his day, rather than waste it away under the covers and away from the beautiful day outside. And so, not even five minutes later, the young man was quickly stumbling out of bed, throwing the covers off of himself as he headed into his restroom to fresh up. It only takes about another half an hour from there, to dress in something appropriate for the day ahead. Apparently some sort of army green had been the choice today, when the Korean had dressed himself in some dark t-shirt, some olive green light jacket and a pair of dark skinny jeans ripped only at the knees and timberlands. All of which, aside from his black timbs, were in some realm or shade of green, ranging from the deep, dull color of his jeans to his much lighter jacket. Running a hand through his perpetually messy fringes, Eddy huffs as he decides that his marginally dressy combo of clothing was 'good enough' for the day and doesn't bother with it any more than that. He's not usually someone who fusses about his choice in fashion much, but today, was that something catching adrift in the air? Or some weird biologically charged werewolf thing happening soon? The boy doesn't really feel much, but even from the comforts of his room, there's something vague and tinkling in the back of his mind- like a foreshadow for the day. Or maybe something foreboding was to come down upon the small little pack he called family? Regardless, the feeling was odd and nagging, but didn't conquer the level minded man and he simply took it within stride, and, whatever was to come today, would come in due time.

The door to Eddy's room slams shut as he steps out and down into the kitchen for some food, his stomach growling quietly within him in reminder that breakfast was as important as sleep was. And if Eddy had wanted to keep a healthy regime (-of some sort), then breakfast would be the next stop on his list if things 'to-do'. With that bouncing in through his thoughts, the beta decidedly helps himself to two slices of toast, an egg and a tall glass of water. Not the most glamorous of breakfasts even if the Korean had to admit himself but- before he could finish his thought, a hand flashes past his gaze and within moments, one of his slices of toast was gone and into the mouth of the resident hunter, playboy, and fellow youngest within the pack.

Without thinking, a low rumble in warning bubbles from deep within the beta's chest as he swipes at his pack mate in a feeble attempt at regaining possession of his poor, perfectly toasted bread. "Hey! Get your own-" the Korean sighs in annoyance but surrenders quickly at the wink that's thrown his way. Instead, the youngest of the pack (surprisingly), scrunches his nose in annoyance and waves Ozmen off. "Stop taking advantage of my "hard work" for god's sake." Eddy mumbles angrily as he takes a bite out of the lone piece of toast still left on his plate. He watches the same aged boy head out but doesn't follow, choosing to take the time to enjoy whatever's left of his food instead.

It's not until sometime later, does the tall boy find himself in the clearing among his fellow pack mates, waiting for the arrival of the alpha specifically. And as soon as a dusty looking Maverick makes his presence known, the beta couldn't help but raise a brow in question. Though he doesn't verbalize his questions, because the loud boy beside him already was- Ozmen's all too happy banter already asking the burning inquiries. As the beta eyed his superior however, even he couldn't help but wonder. It looks like you went through war and back. He wants to say, but refrains.

At the sound of hunting, Eddy merely shrugs quietly at the idea. He's not against a hunt with the pack, but his forte was definitely stronger in the offensive department. Fighting to protect the pack was more of his speed, not for the sake of toxic masculinity or to prove something of that sort, but it did seem to suit the beta much better than the act of hunting had. Naturally gifted? Perhaps, though the beta wouldn't have called himself that lucky to be "naturally gifted" in anything. Maybe it simply served as a better purpose for Eddy than hunting had. Again, hunting was Ozmen's thing, not Eddy's.

Eddy couldn't help but join in on the banter, however. Quite a rare occasion, but Ozmen's loud voice paired with his little act in stealing the young man's food today seemed to have been the trigger. "Not sure we need Drayton for that when your loud ass has already sent prey scrambling,"

The beta takes a deep inhale as Oz turns to direct the plans for the day towards the entire group. "Of course it wasn't your idea, I don't think you're capable of executable ideas, Oz." Despite Eddy's rather harsh words, they hold no venom. In fact, all the beta held was the slight twinkle in his eyes and the suggestion of his own mischief making itself known.

And maybe non-verbalized respect for Maverick? Maybe.

He was both his alpha and the only one superior in hierarchy to Eddy after all.

Just about every member of the small law enforcement staff of Pine Falls knew of Logan. Most of the residents too. In the short time the Andersen boy had been staying in the sleepy town, he'd already created quite the reputation. But that wasn't anything new for Logan. A black cloud of infamy loomed over his head everywhere he went. And at this point in his life, he embraced it. If there was one thing Logan was good at, it was being able to blend into any city's underbelly.

Logan flicked the last bit of ash from the stub of a cigarette before taking one last drag and tossing the butt onto the sidewalk. The fiery ember glowed faintly as the cigarette butt rolled down the concrete and settled into its final resting place between the crack of two slabs. His deep chocolate hues slowly looked around, trying to find his contact. He should have been here by now... Trevor Grimmes was beginning to test his patience. The last thing Logan needed, nor wanted, was to make himself appear more obvious to police chief Thompson. Speak of the devil... The all too familiar shape of a police cruiser turned onto the main drag, slowing down as it passed by him. And there he was: Stanley Thompson. The chief made sure to lock eye contact with the criminal. It was the stare of recognition; a primal gaze, one long shared between those who upheld the law and those who chose to break it. Logan smugly nodded at the man, grinning as the car rumbled forwards. The two had met previously, and not on good terms.

Still no sign of Trevor. Growling, Logan pulled his phone from his jeans pocket and angrily tapped out a warning to his contact. If he didn't get his money by tomorrow, there would be hell to pay. With his payday stalled, Logan's mood instantly soured. The man strode out of town, attempting with little result to keep his composure. The last thing he needed was an unprovoked shift in the middle of town. Logan made sure to cover ground quickly, making a beeline for the pack's territory. His thoughts were flooded with what to do with Trevor. The dude needed to be put in his place. Logan was not the type to upset. Perhaps a call to his contacts back east, a shakedown on Trevor's small operation. It would certainly send the message, there was no doubting that. Just a shame things usually came to excessive show of force.

The distinct sound of his pack members teasing each other was heard through the trees. It was enough to quell his thoughts for the time being. Logan uttered a chuckle under his breath as he pushed aside foiligae and entered the clearing. Appearing to have arrived at the perfect timing, Oz was beginning to talk of a group hunt. "All of us..? What's the occasion?" Logan replied, announcing himself to the others while striding over to join the group. Logan was not usually the pack type of wolf, as he'd been a loner for many years before finding the Pine falls pack. But, this group of males made the dynamic of pack life a bit more bearable.

Left. Right. Right again. The path had grown ever smaller as she continued, perhaps she'd taken a wrong turn somewhere and unknowingly taken the path less traveled. Whatever had happened she watched an awe as the forest thickened around her, litter becoming less and less the farther she went and animal tracks becoming more common, mainly those of deer but she still appreciated them. She'd seen other nature trails littered with trash and paved over in an effort to make them more urban and manageable, but where was the nature in that? The finely trimmed grass and black pavement suffocating everything under it was everything but natural. It was only when the nearly invisible hairs on the back of her neck began to tingle and her gut twisted did she waken from the spell she'd been put into by the atmosphere and music. She reached up to pull the ear buds out of her ears before coming to a standstill, her phone clutched in her hand hard enough that her knuckles began to whiten.

It was a foreign feeling that invaded her body yet among it was the sensation of being watched and that more than anything terrified her. Though strangely it was a feeling of calm that swept over her frame and under the whirlwind of emotion was one that was all but familiar to her. The squeeze and flutter of her heart and the warmth that was brought with it, the same feeling she'd had around Logan- atleast when they were on good terms. Yet still her instincts didn't scream at her to run, rather they were calm. As if whatever, or whoever, was in her presence wasn't there to harm though the idea something was watching her was unsettling- as it ought to be. Her whiskey colored gaze swept around her for a few moments, "Hello?" her voice shook as she spoke, and she stilled as she caught the reflective eyes dwelling in the dense shadows. She should be terrified. She should scream and run, anything but stand there and look back at the bright eyes that watched from the dark depths. But she wasn't, why was that? She didn't know but an eerie feeling of peace settled over her as she looked at whatever, or whomever, was watching. Only flinching as it stepped forward before suddenly lurking back into the undergrowth and shadows.

As soon as the creature left the trance was broken and her senses came flooding back, resulting in a gasp racking her body as if she hadn't taken a breath for years. She trembled, opting not to finish the trail seeing as she had no idea where it was going and she most definitely wasn't alone now. Turning on her heels what was previously a light jog turned into a run, desperate to get to her bike and get to the diner. She didn't understand what she had felt, muchless what she had seen and that more than anything terrified her. What was watching her? Why did she her heart throb like she was in the presence of someone she loved? Why didn't it scare her? These were things she didnt know, and the emotions so strong that no amount of books she read would prepare her for the hurricane of emotions that she was faced with. Soon enough the light yellow frame of her bike came into view and another shaken breath left her frame as her sides heaved, pulling in waves of air as she came to a stop, dropping her phone and earbuds into the little wire basket attached tot he front as she opted for a quick change. Aside from those animal eyes she had been face to face with moments prior there was no on else up here, atleast that she knew of.

Only a few minutes had passed before Arielle had complete changed from her leggings and sports bra, now in her regular attire she wore a cropped lace top paired with simple light-wash blue jeans, both of which complimented her curvy and feminine frame beautifully. In place of tennis shoes were simple heels, brown in color with a single band that went across her foot just above her toes and a strap that went around her ankle. Her red hair fell against her back in soft curls- giving the look of an effortless tousle. She grabbed her phone, pulling up the texts from the one man just three hours ago she'd been pissed at. She couldn't help but return to Logan, he was her comfort. There was a feeling of being safe and protected around him she hadn't experienced before, and now more than ever did she want him around to calm her nerves. 'Hey, you free today?' It was a simple text, she didn't want to come off clingy or needy, but they hadn't talked since their last argument. Taking a quick moment to glance down at the time she hopped on her bike, it was just about time to meet Cherry at the diner.

The ride was a relatively short one, albeit made indefinitely harder by wearing heels she didn't really mind- nor care. Once at the diner she secured her bike to a pole with a lock before walking inside, eyes glancing around the little joint before she spotted Cherry among the slowly growing collection of faces. Some she recognized from her day to day life but others she didn't, with a soft huff she pulled her phone from her pocket and slipped into the booth with a soft smile to her friend. She stole a quick glance around before bringing her hand up to the side of her mouth as she spoke, "Cherry the craziest freaking thing happened to me while i was on my run." It was a harsh whisper, her eyes widening for effect.

Cherry looked up as Arielle came into the diner. She smiled softly, she hadn't ordered anything yet, so at least they'd both be able to get food together. She couldn't help but notice that Arielle looked out of sorts. Something that she had never witnessed before. She tilted her head and was about to ask Arielle if she was okay but was stopped short by the girls confession. "Oh my goodness, are you okay?" her eyes flicked over Arielle's face worriedly. Something had clearly shaken the girl up on her run and Cherry's mind raced, trying to get to the bottom of it what had happened. It was unlikely that she had been mugged or hurt because she had taken the time to go home and get changed before coming to the diner but there was a definite curiosity in the girl's gaze and she seemed to want answers. Cherry wondered suddenly whether Ari had been up on the mountain trail that morning. "Did you take the mountain trail this morning?" Cherry had remembered something which had spooked her just before she'd moved to Pine Falls permanently.

She had been up on the mountain trail exploring the local area as a way to soothe her anxiety before she made the decision to move. to the area and it had got dark quicker than she had anticipated. Cherry had panicked and had made things worse for herself by moving further into the woodlands. Her phone had died and she had been on the verge of tears when she heard a noise. She'd turned and stood a few feet away from her had been a huge mottled grey and tan wolf. Cherry had nearly screamed but the wolf had presented itself to her in the most non-threatening way and had seemed to want to guide her. Walking and looking over its shoulder for her to follow. She'd shakily stumbled after the wolf and before she knew it, she had found the main trail again. Before she'd had a chance to show her gratitude to the animal. It had disappeared. After officially moving in, Cherry headed up to the trail again to find the wolf and thank it. What she had found had been completely different. She had found her wolf alright, but she had seen it turn into a human male. Unable to hold back her gasp of surprise the male explained what was going on and introduced himself. She and Drayton had been good friends ever since then. She made a mental note to go and visit him later and see what was going on in the area at the time.

Cherry's focus snapped back to Arielle and gazing around the diner she made sure that no one was listening in. She needed to make sure that Arielle had seen something before she went sharing the secrets of the wolves in the woods. She knew that Drayton had a pack but she didn't exactly know who the other members were. It wasn't something that they had discussed as Cherry hadn't wanted to pry on his personal life. A rumble in her stomach interrupted Cherry's thoughts, she was definitely getting hungry now and she had set her heart on a pancake stack to quell her discomfort.
