the morning he had to leave for the competition was chaotic as ever. he had meetings upon meetings of loose ends of stuff he had to tie up before he had to leave. since he became of age the king his father had been passing things down to him for him to be in charge of and he would be lying if he said he had been on top of all of them when honestly he hasn't thought about any of them for months? once the millions of meetings were done with he was finally free to go. he quickly said his goodbye to his mother and father before heading to his room to finish packing.

the american prince had been preparing for this event for what it seemed like months. from shopping for beach attire and a million pairs of sunglasses to learning all he could about the england princess and every other princess there that he would have the opportunity to somehow convince them to fall in love with him and marry him in six short weeks. it seemed nearly impossible but when you're a royal you have no choice but to do what was expected of you.

he grabbed the last of his camera gear he would be taking with him. you hardly caught aries with a camera glued to his side. he was always taking pictures of everyone and everything. he had planned to document this whole thing. once he was sure he had everything he wanted he headed out the castle doors and boarded the private jet that was there waiting to take him to the island.

he watched for hours out the small window until the island finally came into view and he could feel the excitement kick in. he could see the many beach houses and was glad to find out they wouldn't all be crammed into one because there's no way he would survive that long with half of these royals. he had met some of the royals that would be here before at other giant events though he wasn't sure if they would even recognize each other now since its been years.

once the jet landed safely on the island he exited it through he doors thanking the captain and the flight attendants. he watched as a private jet a few feet away opened its doors and three people get off of it and he could tell they were having a heated conversation already. "aww trouble in paradise already?" once he got close enough where he was able to clearly see the three figures he could tell right away who they were. he stopped and bowed politely to the princess. "your highness." before looking at her brother not bothering to address him quite yet. "valeris wynters of america." aries was sure they would know who he was already but making a good first impression was something he father beat into him from a young. "I don't think we have met?" his blue eyes landing on camille.

the youngest of the twins by a whopping three minutes was leaning against a wall outside of royal meeting room as waiting for the king to appear. of course he was talking to some princesses from visiting counties when he heard the door make noise behind him. kaius quickly straightened his posture before poiltely excusing himself from the conversation and saying his good byes before he left blue eyes watching as the ladies walked away blushing.

dressed in the most expensive suit money could buy topped with a black cape lined in gray faux fur and matching bow tie making it quite clear to everyone who he was if the over the top crown on his head wasn't a dead enough give away. everyone who knew the prince knew you wouldn't catch him looking any different. he was growing annoyed as the seconds passed until the double doors opened and the king of England appeared followed by a group of guards who were there discussion strategies for a war they were currently in which they started with another country and kingdom.

after getting an hour-long talk about what his father expected of him and his sister harper while they were away which was demanding he came home a married man he was finally changed into more appropriate beach attire and seated next to his sister and on their private jet that would be taking him to the remote island where he would stay for the next few weeks. the most dramatic sigh left his lips as his eyes landed on harper. "im so not husband material." he loved his sister dearly but when it came to getting his hands on that throne he had no problem playing dirty and taking down his twin sister to get it.

"you do realize if you even think about reaching for that throne" he stopped icy eyes starred right in front of him as the even chilling words left his mouth. "i will destroy you. we both know im capable of making someone disappear." anyone that knew kaius knew his knowledge of weapons and how to use them and being a royal meant he can scrape anything he did under the rug and no one would question it. "many people die or vanish on vacations every year, look it up."

his eyes then landed on harpers lady in waiting. "how did you manage to get to compete in this anways? figured your obsession with me would have disappeared years ago." you would think the prince would have more respect for camille considering the grew up together but ever since he came to realize a few years back that he could never be with a commoner he traded his feeling of lust for the girl for hatred and hasn't shown much kindness to her since. "if worse comes to worst your wish of marrying me might just come true." a smirk appearing on his lips. "i would marry anyone, even you for the throne."

saying the prince was excited to get out of the castle and the stresses of keeping his rather long list of trouble he's gotten into away from the ears of his father and mother. at least on the island, he could whatever he wanted without repercussions for the most part. he just didn't enjoy the idea of having to actually try to leave with a fiance after these six weeks.

before they knew it the jet was landing on the island. looking out the small window he could see all the small beach houses they would staying in and everything else the island had to offer. of course he didn't grab any of his suitcases when exiting the jet knowing there had to maids and servants somewhere on this island that would do it for him.

camille's bright blue eyes stared at the same hue reflected on the ocean through the small jet windows. it was still unknown to her why her name had been picked for this tournament. she wasn't even royalty, although she lived with them. all her life the palace has been all she's ever known. and even though her education has always been top notch, her family has always been paid well for their contributions to the royal family, and she's been with her best friend: harper, all her life, she's never been and never will be royalty. so much had always been clear. and even though the king and queen loved her as a daughter, they'd always reminded her to stay in her place. so she doesn't get hurt. her thoughts were soon interrupted by a certain brunet sitting in the row besides her with harper. a laugh escaped her lips as he complained about being "husband material" damn right you're not. she said under her breath before kai continued on to bug the princess of england who sat next to him. shut up kai. we all know damn well that if anyone was to "disappear" it'd be you. get off it. she said standing up for her best friend. the blonde turned away from the duo as they continued on discussing who'd win the crown when elle found herself being addressed once again.

a scoff shot out from her mouth. mostly to cover up the fact that she didn't know how'd she'd been roped into this bloody tournament either. aw, i'm sorry to burst your bubble "your royal brattiness", but let me remind you, that you're the one who cried when you found out you couldn't marry me. she said with a flick of her golden hair from her shoulder before continuing her attack. and let it be known that i wouldn't marry you even if you were the last bloody git on this island. no, the world. camille shot back at him. words dripping in poison. she hated being cornered about this. it had been years since she admitted to liking kai when they were nearing sixteen. and although she despised the man now, only harper knew that she still loved him. and for this reason elle hated herself. she hated herself for letting those words sting her. creating a pang of guilt to course through her body. why did she have to be in love with such a snobbish, rude, annoying, insulting, good for nothing, self centered, power hungry, (did she need to go on?) jerk? ugh. this was a disaster. and it didn't help that harper kept pushing the two together. rooting for an eventual relationship to blossom. and although camille would love to have harper as her sister-in-law, that would never happen.

her stomach could feel the plane descending and soon the three were on the ground, getting off the private jet and being welcomed to the island. she stepped off the steps and inhaled the salty ocean air. it was humid, but not humid enough to make her hair frizz up like crazy. and by just feeling the sun blasting on her skin, she knew that she'll be burning to a crisp in a few days. looking around she spotted one tall man making his way towards them. rather, towards harper. camille looked at him. american, she'd gathered before he even introduced his country. he seemed nice. at least he would seem nice until he knew that she wasn't royalty. he'd probably just assume she was the help. and, well, he wasn't wrong. but the king and queen had assured her that for the tournament, she'd be treated as one of their own by the staff. elle was quite perplexed as the prince addressed her so... uh- directly. royalty had never been really bothered by her to do that before. only alka had always treated her as an equal. so when the american prince asked for her to introduce herself she was quite taken aback. so much so that she ended up stuttering on her words. i- uh-- i she started before clearing her throat. lady camille kingsley, she said, her french accent making an entrance as she curtsied. of england. she finished with a smile. it really is a pleasure to meet you, your highness. the blonde said bowing her head slightly at the title. camille cursed at herself for making such a fool of herself already. not even three minutes into meeting another prince and she's already a stuttering mess. well, this was going to be wonderful.

The Blonde princess had left the ice and snow in Russia just a few hours ago and she swore she could already feel the island breeze against her skin. Even if she didn’t win the throne it was great vacation to get away from all the cold and her helicopter parents. Alex looked out onto the deck just in time to see the yacht pulling up to the dock. Excitedly jumping up from her seat she ran to the mirror and checked her complexion. Perfect , she giggled at her own vanity.

Running up onto the deck she didn’t even wait until her butler could catch up with her bags, she spotted four others talking not too far away. Instantly she got nervous, what would people think? When most people thought russia they thought, cold and mean, But Alex was just a big softy. Sucking in a deep breath she made her way to the others, her butler huffing and puffing behind her.

She instantly recognized the two heirs, for the english throne. And the other girl must have been the princess’ lady in waiting? Alex also noticed the American prince, which her parents insisted she make acquaintances with. “ Hello everyone! Sorry if I'm interrupting” , clearing her throat she stood a little taller, but even that wasn’t very tall and she felt as everyone was looming over her. “ I’m Alexandra, heiress of Russia” she made sure to make eye contact with both the english heirs before curtsying.

Standing back up she sighed and relaxed a little more “ Finally, all the stupid formalities are over” she turned to the lady in waiting, “ I just wanted to say, you’re Gorgeous, sorry it just had to be said” Alex giggled letting her blue eyes wander to the American prince, not sure what to say to the handsome lad she smiled before simple just saying “ Hi “ she felt the heat rise to her cheeks and turned to look back at the Heirs.

Sebastian sighed as the Helicopter flew around the island looking for a good place to land. He noticed all the fancy yachts and jets, which made him feel slightly embarrassed about choosing a helicopter, but he didn’t need anything fancy as he wasn’t too far from the island, since he was on vacation in the first place.

Finally Landing the lad grabbed his bags and waved goodbye to the pilot before he took off, leaving Seb with messy hair and his clothes all out of wack. Fixing his shirt and shaking his hair out he made his way over to where many royals seemed to be hanging at.

Approaching the group, he instantly noticed the Prince of America, he was quite familiar due to their countries bordering each other. Well both his “countries”, Sebs heart still belonged in canada but his official title was “ prince of Mexico”. Finally reaching the group Seb placed his baggage on the ground and huffed. He watched as a blonde princess curtsied to the Heirs and he scoffed. The two heirs probably had huge egos, probably blown even bigger by this whole ‘event’.

His eyes landed on another girl, she didn’t seem to be royal. In fact he was pretty sure she was Harpers lady in waiting. She was gorgeous, and not royal which intrigued Sebastian even more.
Deciding he would introduce himself to her before the heirs, which hopefully might deflate at least one of their egos. He made his way over to her, he smirked before bowing, “ Hello, señorita what a pleasure it is to be in the prescence of someone so beautiful” He winked at the girl as he returned to his full height. He turned to the Heirs, “ Nice to see you as well” he spoke, smiling playfully.

harper was woken much to early for her liking, even if it was for the most important event in her life thus far. of course daddy dear just had to lecture her and kai, mostly kai, on how to behave and to get married and yadda yadda. honestly, harper zoned out five minutes into the conversation and just counted the jewels in her brother's crown to keep her occupied. after a long conversation and a kiss on both cheeks, harper and kai were free to go on what harper considered a six week vacation. sure, she had plenty of plans to fall in love and all that romantic nonsense, but she really hadn't been to the beach in a month and her skin was becoming addicted to self tanners. harper needed real sun, and she was planning on using this competition to shy away from her duties for six weeks. plus, there would be hot shirtless princes everywhere; she'd live.

once again, harper stopped paying attention to her brother until he mentioned not being husband material. harper snorted in a very unlady-like manner and rolled her eyes. "you don't say, kai." she waited until he was done with his murder speech, and then laughed out loud. she laughed even harder when elle stepped in to defend her. oh, she knew damn well how serious kai was, but he must realize at this point that the crown really doesn't mean that much to her? at this point, she only really wants it to get under her brother's skin because he wants it so badly. "oh, how i do love our talks, brother. i'll be sure to stay a little extra close to daddy once i win the competition." she replied, wiping a tear from her eye. she knew kai was the favorite among their parents and he wouldn't dare tarnish his reputation so easily. ellie, darling, you're so sweet, but my little brother doesn't scare me." she reassured, only half lying.

once their private jet landed and harper had changed from her silk pajamas to a stunning red one-piece bathing suit with a black skirt tied around her waist and braided her hair into twin french braids framing her face, and put on all of her most expensive jewelry, she was ready to step out to greet her guests. she rested her wide rimmed shades on top of her head so she could make eye contact with the people she could potentially marry. she'd always been told it was polite to make eye contact. the first person who caught her eye was prince valeris, from america. the two had raised hell together as children and she was more than delighted to raise hell once again with him for six weeks. she threw a quick wink his way as she nudged elle reassuringly, encouraging her to make conversation with the prince. it was about time she got over her foolish crush on a boy as heartless as her brother. harper loved her brother more than anything in the world, but watching him mistreat elle rubbed her the wrong way sometimes. she hoped that her best friend wouldn't remain so stiff and formal and act a little recklessly on this vacation.

harper's naturally ugly heart started to twitch when she noticed elle getting all of the attention. sure, she wanted elle to loosen up and have a good time, but this competition was for her, wasn't it? she gently shoved elle towards the american prince and made herself visible to the two newcomers, alexandra and sebastian. "that's camille, my lady-in-waiting." she said pointedly, putting a little extra emphasis on lady-in-waiting. she held out her hand, waiting for someone to take it. "i'm sure you already know, but i'm harper lourd, princess of england." she trilled with a large grin that promised mischief.

aleris attention was grabbed when the girl mentioned she was the lady in waiting from england. "the pleasure is all mine." he said shooting her a grin. "i remember hearing a story a few years back about a lady in waiting who was hooking up with a royal from your country." of course he didn't have to bring up the news but prince loved pushing buttons and he knew this one would anger a certain prince from said country. "was she a friend of yours? always love good castle gossip. when it's not about me anyways." raising his eyes to meet kaius knowing dang well that royal it was.

if anyone knew anything about aries was that the boy loved gossip of any kind. he even loved starting rumors about himself that weren't true just for the heck of it at times. maybe he just liked watching other peoples lives get ruined? who knew but he knew to mention now would cause tension and make the English prince mad so it was a win-win situation.

though his spotlight was quickly stolen when the prince of Mexico and the princess of Russia appeared. he straightened his posture and tucked his hands into his shorts before smiling at them. "oh you're not interrupting at all." he said looking down at the blonde princess. "its an honor to meet you as well." playing nice with other males was something the boy was never too great at though and he wasn't about to put any effort into now. "yeah you too." was all he said back with a shrug not even bothering to look at him.

when harper begins to explain that Camille was only her lady in waiting in a rude tune even he was confused. he thought since she grew up with Camille she would have a love for a lady in waiting or at least some sort of respect for her but that would be asking too much from the lourd twins. when she held out her hand he looked down at it and then up at her face not touching it. "and i thought your brother was the worst of you two. considering you grew up with her you should show her a bit more respect don't you think?" he was almost positive she wouldn't listen to a word he said anyways.

Aries started shaking his head when he watched as Alka yacht pulled up to the dock. "she really will do anything to make an entrance" he said under his breath. it took a few minutes for the giant to the boat to finally be docked and the bridge to come down for her exit. he didn't take his eyes off of her the whole time because honestly watching the boat dock was more interesting than anything these royals were currently talking about. though what he wasn't prepared for was her running too him expecting him to catch her which of course he did. "oh thank goodness you're here. the people here are an absolute mess." he smiled releasing her from a hug.

he allowed her to say her hellos and greetings to everyone else before stealing her attention again. "wanna go check the place out before it gets burned to the ground by the egos of the twins?" it was pretty much him hinting he wanted to ditch this mess of a conversation and find something else to do before he lost his mind or ended up fighting someone. "gotta beat everyone to the best house."

a smirk appeared on brunettes face when the girl across from him agreed with his comment of him not being husband material. "your going to enjoy being able to speak your mind to me without repercussions aren't you?" one of kaius favorite things was being able to disrespect people without them saying anything back because you could not disrespect a royal at royal court without some sort of punishment. kaius laughed when Camille came to the princesses defense. "i liked you a lot better when you didn't talk so much." this was going to be an interesting flight for sure with the three of people combined in one space without any of them being able to leave for at least another thirty minutes or so. "we all known im the one our parents want on the throne anyway." he loved holding how he was the kings favorite over his beloved sisters head every chance he got.

blue eyes rolled when Camille brought up how he cried when his father found out about his son flirting and having moments with his sister's lady in waiting and forbid them from ever having relations like that again because he was a crowned prince and she was just a common girl. he had to marry a girl of royal blood and that was when kaius realized he would never to be allowed to marry for love. "oh heaven forbid i show emotions for once in my life." everyone complained about how he needed to open up more but yet every time he did everyone brought it up against him.

"let's not sit here and act like you don't talk to harper constantly about me. servants in the halls whisper you should know that by now" that is the way they were found out anyway. the prince was survived they managed to stay under the radar for a few months before being caught. servants love spilling royal tea and gossip for the pretty penny they could make off out it. he knew that more than anyone having to pay off many not to rat him out for the all dumb stuff he does. he wondered if his father found about some of crazy antics from the past and let's be honest and the present. and throwing Camille into the competition was some sort of sick joke to get back at him. the anger in his father's eyes that about was the only time he generally feared for his life or his father changing the line of succession and giving it solely to his sister because at that point harper hadn't done anything to disappoint him as much as kaius did that day.

the brunette felt his eyes roll again when his twin sister finally spoke. "you're just upset that i have been everyone's favorite since the moment i was born. aren't you growing tired of the attention-seeking yet?" and before he knew she resorted to calling him her little brother to make herself feel better. he couldn't help but laugh because it was just so childish even coming from him. "i only let you be older by three minutes because we both know i love a dramatic entrance"

he watched as harper excused herself and came back in a red bathing suit and it took everything in him to bite his tongue and not comment on how he knew she was going to act this whole trip. "let the show begin." he mumbled as the plane door opened and they were allowed to exit. he was honestly shocked they weren't the first to arrive when he saw the American prince, Russian princess, and Mexicos prince headed toward them but what did shock him was when not only the American prince attention was on Camille but the Russian princess and the Mexico princes were as well but for once in his life he bit his tongue.

"aww is someone threatened by their lady in waiting?" he cooed to his twin when she tried making herself center of attention again by shoving Camille out of her way to get the Mexico prince attention. he knew he had to get out of this conversation or they were going to be arguing for hours. when the prince of Mexico finally spoke to him and his sister he rolled his eyes. "lets not even start with the fake being nice." he wasn't about to sit here and play nice with anyone here. "

he wasn't even the slightest bit shocked when Alka showed up oh her yacht and made her way over to the group and throwing herself into the American prince arms. he had a complicated relationship with the princess they kinda just tolerated each other for harpers sake. he smirked when she referred to him by the nickname she always used. "i love it when you talk dirty to me." was his normal response to anything rude she said to him because he knew she hated it. by this point, he was over socializing with everyone and excused himself from the conversation before heading toward the beach houses.

her icy blue eyes glared daggers at the prince. i seriously despise you. she snapped before shutting her mouth. she wasn't that mean. usually, she let kai say whatever to her and she'd let it go. but right now, in a competition where at least to the staff she was considered an equal, she would say whatever she wanted to say to the brat. honestly, it had been ages since they'd had a civil conversation. years, probably. ever since that servant caught them and told the king. who was not too happy with her. he threatened to have her leave her position for distracting the prince of his true obligations. and one of them, was to marry royal blood. which is why it just didn't make any bloody sense why, even if it was just a mix up, the king had let her stay at the tournament. it was probably some sick joke, to make her realize her place in the palace and in life. but it had been years since the incident. surely the king would've thought she'd lost her feelings by now. but here she was on a private jet, bad mouthing the crowned prince of england. how joyous. and through this thought process kai just had to rub more salt on the wound. "--oh heaven forbid i show emotions for once in my life." he said. and honestly, that shut her up. even though she was used to friendly bantering, camille knew that it had hit a nerve. even if it was just a small one. sorry. she said apologizing almost immediately. guess old habits die hard.

she rolled her eyes at the next sentence that dropped from his mouth. of course she knew that. she knew that more than the twins sitting besides her at least. but although the servants didn't particularly like her, they still would share any gossip. and they loved kai. probably because of all the money he would throw at them to shut up about all of the stupid stuff he'd done. but camille knew it all. and she also knew enough not to get close with any of the servants. she knew what they thought about her. social climber, ms. prefect, gold digger, fake, she'd heard it all. but what hurt most of all, was that she honestly had tried so damn hard to not be what they thought of her.

to be honest, camille had blatantly ignored harper the whole flight here. don't get her wrong, she loved the princess with all her heart, but when she was in the mood to be the center of attention, she could be a total b****. as seen by the fact that she, in three minutes flat had managed to change her entire appearance to one of a model on the cover of sports illustrated. but camille couldn't care less for her own appearance. with a white, blue collared shirt tucked into a skirt of the same matching hue, she felt comfortable. and so she got off the plane.

as prince valeris started to speak about the drama of a "lady in waiting who was hooking up with a royal" she was torn between just curtsying and admitting that it was her, or just agreeing with valeris that she knew her. and although she loved the first idea, she opted for the latter to not draw too much attention to herself. haha, don't worry, your highness. she was a close friend. and a good castle gossip is all it was. she said trying to halt any further question. however, when the prince of mexico and the princess of russia arrived, that hope of flying under the radar vanished into thin air. soon after alexandra introduced herself to the two heirs, she turned to her saying how pretty she was. camille was in shock. no one would ever dare speak to her like that in front of royalty. but i guess these two weren't as "traditional". the blonde looked at alexandra with a smile before thanking her. why thank you, your highness. i was just going to say the same about you, and she wasn't lying. alexandra had a sort of cold beauty around her. probably the fact that she was the russian princess aided with that description.

but the attention didn't stop there. the mexican prince, who was actually half canadian, was next to speak. elle was sure that he'd introduce himself to the heirs. after all, this was their competition. wasn't it? but instead, he directed his brown gaze towards her. with a bow and all, he greeted her and complimented her in one. a hot blush spread on her cheeks and she cursed the england sky for making her so pale. still in complete and utter disbelief, she curtsied back. i. uh- thanks? she said. her sentence taking more the form of a squeaky question than anything else. camille cleared her throat before trying again. thank you, your majesty. camille kingsley. pleasure to meet you. this time, the blonde managed not to stutter. and soon after, a gasp exited her lips as he greeted the twins with such a casual and low key kinda rude greeting. nonetheless, a smile formed on her lips as she noticed both of the english heirs were quite taken aback by this as well. a hand suddenly grabbed her and pushed her towards the american prince. harper. i'm so sorry about that! she cried stepping out of the way to not keep bumping more into prince valeris. not soon enough, alka arrived greeting her with a peck on the cheek. elle returned the gesture before pulling her in for a hug. and now, exhausted from all this human (if royalty could even be called human) interaction she longed to go and pick a bungalow to stay in. so off she went. but right at that second, the king of brats himself (that's the only title of king he'd ever have in her book) started walking towards the beach houses. damn it. do you have to follow me everywhere? she asked kai before throwing his words right back at him. figured your obsession with me would have disappeared years ago.
