from 1852 to 1953, devil's island was home to
France's most treacherous political prisoners
and hardened criminals. under new rule
of napoleon, it wasn't long before france
found herself with more prisoners of war
than officers to keep the new definition
of peace. After years of struggling with
prison populations, it was decided that
more serious convicts would be sent
elsewhere to serve their time - to a
series of islands off the coast of french
guiana, a french colony in south america.
here, detainees were largely left to their
own devices to live out their sentence.
with escape impossible, resources limited,
and disease rampant, they had to rely on
their wits as well as the few guards who
switched shifts on a monthly basis to smuggle
in goods.

officials look to great leaders of the past for
answers. shortly after a proposal to reinstate
a larger, renovated alcatraz went viral,
discontent reached a boiling point and riots
broke out in most major cities of the country.
the powers that be pushed back hard, not only
deciding instead to claim devil's island for the
project, but to make an example of rioters by
sending them first.
it wasn't long before criminals from all across
the country were ferried down to south
america, and along with a few brave guards,
left to make the long-since abandoned
devil's island their home. each with no less
than a ten year sentence, the prisoners are
left with the opportunity to co-exist and get
by, or destroy themselves like they were
intended to.

upon arrival at the island, prisoners will be supplied with an extra uniform, a canteen, and a week's worth of rations. rations are stowed away in the guards'
quarters of the island, but will be available in the square on a weekly basis. extra will be provided to those inclined to clean the place up a bit. shelter
and protection of said rations is the responsibility of their owner and guards will not be held accountable for any supplies gone missing after they have left
headquarters. all structures (ex.,ex,ex) not occupied by corrections officers will be free real estate to any man or woman brave enough to claim them.
those caught with contraband will be sent to solitary confinement for a minimum of one week.
those who attempt to escape are wished good luck.
