Cordelia was lost in thought as she staggered toward the lab. She'd really done it this time, hadn't she? Darcy was so angry... Stupid girl, if only she'd kept a better grip on things, Avis might still be alive and Darcy might not be upset with her. Evanna had been right all along. No one loves a murderer, and that's all Cordelia was... A murderer. A monster.

She physically flinched away in repulsion from the term as it crossed her mind. No, I'm not a monster. She thought to herself. I can't be a monster. I'm good. Darcy made me, and Darcy's good, so I'm good. I have to be good...

But good girls don't kill people.

Maybe Lilith had said something, but Cordelia hadn't been listening. Halfway through the door and into the lab, she froze and turned on her heels to face Lilith.

"Do you think I'm a monster?" She asked. Her eyes were searching, but they showed no sign of the hurricane in her mind. She needed someone to tell her the answers she couldn't conjure up for herself. This was one question she thought even Darcy couldn't answer. At this point she'd chased the question around in a circle. She'd believe whatever Lilith told her. Maybe she was a monster. Maybe she had been all along.

Lilith's head tilted curiously at Cordelia's question, her soft blue eyes narrowing in concentration as she considered the words for a moment. After a few ticks of a second, Lilith shook her head,
scattered strands of blonde hair over her shoulders in a messy arrangement. "No. I think there are defining sins to being a monster...murder isn't one of them. Murder is...a forgivable sin." Walking forwards, Lilith took Cordelia's hand gently,
escorting her to one of the emptier tables where they could sit.

As she pulled out a near by sewing kit and began threading a needle, Lilith glanced up at Cordelia. "As a vampire,
murder is a regular matter to me. At least, the murder of humans is. I suppose killing monsters is a bit different since they're considered our equals, and humans mostly stand as a food source for me."
She paused, hoping she was making sense. With a deep sigh, Lilith slouched over, propping an elbow on the table and resting her weight into one hand placed beneath her chin. "I supposed when I first took a human life I was scared, I believed that I had committed an unforgivable act. But...it was either I eat, or I die. It became so that I accepted humans and me as just another position on the food chain."

Her husky gaze fell to the creation as she gently cradled Cordelia's wrist in her lap, preparing for the first stitch. "Darcy should know better than to lie to me. There was enough blood on you that anyone injured in that fight would be dead. Evanna...is dead. You shouldn't feel guilt about it. She killed without reason, she knowingly took pleasure in destroying her king's life. There are rules to killing Cordelia...Evanna broke those rules and she paid the price for it. But you were protecting the castle, protecting yourself. Murder in the face of defense is not an inherent sin. So you're not a monster..."

Cordy listened closely to what Lilith had to say as the small blonde fixed up her hands. The more Lilith explained, the more Cordelia relaxed. Lilith was probably the most honest and trustworthy person that Cordelia knew, so what she said must be right. If Lilith said that killing Evanna was justified...

Cordelia began to straighten up, some of her confidence regained. Then, before Lilith could even finish the first row of stitches, Cordelia deflated again. This wasn't just about Evanna. She'd also killed the guard, not to mention Avis... no doubt Lilith would turn to Darcy's side when she found out about Avis.

Cordelia sighed. She'd just have to pray that Lilith never found out. Maybe Avis could just disappear... but that wouldn't change the fact that Darcy already knew and was already upset.

"I don't understand Darcy," Cordelia confessed. "Sometimes he just all of a sudden starts acting weird for no reason. I never know if things are okay to say around him or not because sometimes he just..." The girl rolled her eyes. "He just acts so silly and I don't understand. He thinks I understand, too! That's the other thing! I just don't understand why I'm supposed to be as smart as he is when I haven't eve been here for a whole year yet...."

Avis Savant
Bookkeeper♢Location: Hallways♢Tags: Darcy

Avis was out of breath by the time he was through the Castle doors, stumbling to where he’d last seen everyone. Every second it took continued to bear down on Avis, until he was being crushed by the anxiety, unable to breathe.

The last thing Evanna had felt was a searing pain, as Cordelia had lashed out at her and the agony, Evanna had felt in her last moments, continued to linger in the back of his mind.
And he hated it.
He’d seen enough people die and had felt pain at their loss. The one person he wouldn’t have minded dying had had to pass their last moments of pain to him and it hurt

Skidding around a last corner, he finally caught sight of the scene...

And regretted it immediately.

Taking in the blood, the scattered feathers, Avis let out a shriek. It was loud, sharp and made his throat hurt, but it was not the cry of a raven. No, it was more similar to...
An eagle...

Avis couldn't make sense of it, but one thig he did know was that she was dead. And for some reason that didn't sit well at all with him.

Catching sight of a tall figure, Avis' heart leapt, as the undeniable form of the scientist came to view. Why he was feeling in such a way, Avis wasn’t sure, but it was certainly not because he was happy.
“D-Darcy?" the Wereraven’s voice was hoarse and barely audible, but he was fairly certain that the sound had carried far enough.

〖Mad Scientist〗〖Human〗〖25〗〖Form〗〖Location: The Halls〗〖Tags: Avis〗

Upon dismissing himself, Darcy strode through the halls with a renewed sense of purpose and an itching agitation, one that felt like a colony of ants crawling under his clothes. That had been a lot of blood on Cordelia's hands--literally. Could Avis truly be... dead? The thought almost stopped him in his tracks. Almost. He wavered but it was barely perceptible as he continued down the hall. He couldn't falter now. He owed it to the bookkeeper to go to the scene of the crime and see for himself. He owed it to Avis to investigate. He was no longer so sure about whether or not he should clean up the mess he would be inevitably faced with when he rounded this corner. After all, this crime scene would carry the only evidence of what had really happened. And no scientist could deny himself that knowledge. Not even a mad one.

Just as he was about to round the corner, his ears were confronted with a haunting shriek, one that froze his muscles and chilled his bones. That... reminded me of... He shook his head. He couldn't turn around now. Someone was definitely nearby, though Darcy was afraid to call out for fear that the other person might be hostile. If that was the case, it was better to have the element of surprise on his side.

"D-Darcy?" called a voice from around the corner. It was so quiet that at first Darcy thought he might be imagining it. Narrowing his eyes, he slowly advanced until he had rounded the corner, and understood why there had been such a terrible shriek earlier. The scene of the murder was horrible; blood and feathers were strewn everywhere so that the scientist felt suddenly sick, not because he was squeamish, but because for a moment, he had allowed himself to believe that those were the last remains of Mr. Savant.

Fortunately for his nerves, he found, to his astonishment and relief, as his eyes rose from the floor, the bookkeeper standing there but a few yards away, alive and well.

"Avis!" Darcy cried before he could catch himself, or make himself tame these emotions that were starting to run wild. The scientist dashed up to the bookkeeper and looked the man over, as if to make sure he wasn't some figment of his imagination. "You're alive?" he breathed. Without thinking he reached out to touch Avis's arm, to feel that it was real and he could touch it. The scientist released a not altogether sane-sounding chuckle. "You're alive!" Then his face darkened and his expression turned serious.

    "Is Evanna...dead?"

Michelangelo 15

Postby White Eagle » Sun Jun 18, 2017 10:05 am

🕊𝕄𝕚𝕔𝕙𝕖𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕖𝕝𝕠 𝕒𝕝𝕠𝕞𝕒🕊

𝕔𝕦𝕡 𝕓𝕖𝕒𝕣𝕖𝕣 ~ 𝕞𝕒𝕝𝕖 ~ 𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕖𝕝 ~ 𝕝𝕠𝕔𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟:𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕨𝕠𝕠𝕕𝕤/𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕔𝕒𝕤𝕥𝕝𝕖~ 𝕥𝕒𝕘𝕤: 𝕍𝕚𝕩𝕖𝕟, 𝔸𝕧𝕚𝕤, 𝕃𝕚𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕙

The angel walked with the demon and wereraven as an escort in case the owl came for Avis. "Hey you guys I've been thinking about that blade of the dagger." Michelangelo whispered as he stepped over sticks and muddy spots,"A vampire can't be killed by any dagger, right?....When I was purchasing the dagger the merchant explained how it came into her possession." Clearing his throat help but drift his eyes up to the sky as he was trying to remember the story.

Dusk was approaching which he stopped in his place and grabbed his sword. "Hold on let me make a torch." Placing both hands on the pommel the blade slowly ignited creating a flaming sword. It's not THE flaming sword but a flaming sword if you wondered. "Back to what I was saying. The woman said-uh..she was given the dagger from a friend who went to trade with Japan. The legend from the town was that the blade would absorb anyone's soul if they died on the blade. They called it Tamashī no akuma. Which means soul demon in case you wanted to know Avis." Vixen and Michelangelo both know all the Earth's languages so they can do their business for their leader so that's why he specified the information toward Avis. "The villiage left it on a island away so they wouldn't kill anyone until that Westerner took it. That blade called to me so I bought it yet, I just thought it was my interest..If Yeong-Suk could be killed by that then it would've need to be blessed....I have a feeling we need to find that dagger because I think we encountered Azrael's other blade. Her blade of death. I remember her saying she lost it during the Dark Ages when people began losing faith in us." Soon the castle was in eye shot which was a good sign for him that it all didn't go to Hell.

"Any human can take it without knowing and bring their darkest angers and urges out. Mass murder can happen in seconds over the blade......And what's worse about this is....that if we get stabbed with that we can die. Not the good kind." Watching Avis bolt ahead he let a sigh as he jogged from a far,""If you or i die we no longer exist. I won't let that happen to you,"he stated in a stern voice. Once at the castle he pushed the guards out of the way no caring about being polite. Kicking down the door he stomped to Darcy's room in search of the blade which only made things worst. In one quick inhale he punch the corner of the cement wall breaking off some of the bricks.

In search of Lilith didn't take long as he saw he next to Cordelia,"Do you have the blade? I-It's the up most importance for its a life and death situation. Literally." The angel's robe glowed in the darken room making him seem more like a holy knight than a cup bearer.

(I know it's terrible. I'm a big mess for some reason.)

Cordelia narrowed her eyes as the angel Michelangelo burst in with quite the display of dramatics. Even Cordelia knew it was rude to interrupt a conversation, and Dee had hardly gotten any alone time with Lilith since insanity descended upon the castle. She doubted they'd get this chance to talk again, considering there would need to be a coronation soon, and then Lilith would have queenly duties to look after.

Cordelia searched her mind, trying to recall where the dagger had ended up after the meeting where the autopsy report had been looked over by the court. It was all such a blue. She'd drugged Darcy, which nearly got him killed by Evanna, and Lilith had locked the doors and demanded fair trial for each courtier... Cordelia had been so scared, that was about all she could remember. She knew she had the bag in her hands, then when she heard Darcy at the door she'd left it...

    Ah yes. Her memory cleared.

Cordelia tossed her hair behind her shoulders and told the angel, "I'm not at liberty to tell you where the dagger is. This is Darcy's lab, not mine, and if I start giving away things he'll be very angry with me. I don't really want to deal with that anymore, we've been fighting for like three days." Besides, she added internally. You might find out that Evanna didn't kill the guard... I did.

The corpse girl's heart began to race. She was still unsure about what kids of powers the angel possessed, but she thought there was some sort of clairvoyance involved. Maybe enough to expose her as a killer. But the, if he could see deeply enough into what had happened through the dagger he'd gifted to Lilith, maybe he'd be able to see how scared Cordelia had been that she'd lose her home, her family, and her Darcy. Though, truth be told, there was just as much anger as there was fear packed into the moments leading up to the murder. It wasn't nearly justifiable if she placed all the blame on her fear. Even if she did, she was still a killer... She still couldn't excuse or explain what she had done.

"Lilith," she said, grabbing the girl's hand. "Tell him. Tell him how angry Darcy will be. You know I can't give Michelangelo the knife... You understand, don't you?"

Michaelangelo's burst in irritated the young vampire quite a bit, but she was relieved when Cordelia took to answering his question. As if Lilith herse;f had any possession over the dagger. His implictions irked her. With a deep sigh, Lilith stood, dusting off her dress- resembling more of a crime scene than a dress at that point- and faced the imposing angel with a cool and calculated authority, "The knife is still being held as evidence of a crime. Until Darcy returns with confirmation that Evanna has been handled, and until we can restore peace to this castle,
the dagger will remain locked away. If it's such a horrible matter of life, you should be able to tell us why you need it so horribly,
and what you plan to do with it. Besides, what's life to a castle of undead?"
The last comment served as a way to lighten the mood.

Lilith's starling gaze focused on the angel, a silent warning for him to not press the subject at the given moment. The castle as a whole needed time to calm down, and rest after all of the grisly drama that had been occurring. Lilith, regardless of anything,
would not be dealing with more theatrics until she could sort out and put to rest the last bout of hysterics.

Vixen, not really in the mood to make any more comments, just walked with the two half-bird men with her arms crossed and brooding over Eve's actions. Unaware of what was happening back at the castle, all she could think of was 100+ ways to grill a hawk-shifter.
She rolled her eyes when Ave had suddenly shifted and sprinted ahead. "What's his problem?" she muttered in an irritated tone. At this rate, the demoness just wanted to get this night over with and do what she felt was the right thing to do--which was getting rid of Eve.
Upon reaching the castle with Mike, something caught wind of her senses--making her perk up with suspicion...
Why did the halls reek of blood?
She stopped at the doorway to let the angel rain in on the parade--or whatever was going on in that room--before slipping away to figure out why she smelled blood throughout the castle... Hopefully, this would be more interesting than all the rambling Mike was going on about involving a magical dagger.

Watching Darcy approach, something fluttered inside of Avis, though he remained stock still with a neutral expression.
One side of Avis wanted to go to the scientist and say something, but the other side wanted the bookkeeper to walk away and pretend he didn’t even know Darcy. As such, Avis was stuck in place, neither coming nor going.

Avis, immediately, recoiled from Darcy’s touch, however and something of a snarl crossed his features, though it was very unusual for Avis to do such a thing. But now, something had changed, but Avis wasn’t sure what it was.
Whatever it was, it compelled Avis to simply walk straight past Darcy, as the scientist seemed overjoyed that Avis was alive.

Usually, that would have stirred some emotion, but Avis could not feel it, crouching before the crime scene, taking a few of Evanna’s bloodstained feathers in his hand, studying them intently.

"Is Evanna...dead?"

At first, Avis remained silent, gradually rising, clutching the feathers in his hand, looking forward. After a minute, Avis turned to face Darcy, a brow raised, while a sardonic chuckle escaped him.
“Really? Is she dead?" he held the feathers up, tilting his head, slightly towards them. “I would think one as intelligent as you could work that out. After figuring out I’m alive, I’m rather disappointed that you can’t tell she’s dead. Then again," Avis looked around him, “What’s death in a Castle of undead?"

Anyone that knew Avis well enough could immediately tell that something was very wrong with him, for him to be saying such things so clearly and concisely, at an understandable pace.

Something had changed in Avis Savant.
