┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ The second girl offered her name as well. "Lovely names, both of you," Riley smiled. Atticus seemed the most anxious out the two of them and she didn't talk much. Riley figured that something was awry here if the girls in front of her didn't know each other. That means there are people waking up here again. What an unnerving thought. Riley backed further into the water and now it pushed passed her waist. By this point her clothes were soaked through, but the warm water made it all worth it.
"There's one thing you gotta know about the island," she said, excitement rising in her voice. "If you want to live here, you need to learn to survive. To...adapt." Riley let herself fall backwards into a wave as it broke on the sandbar. Water and foam and sand rushed over her body that was now fully submerged. She stared up at the sunlight filtering through the surface as her body shifted; what was once two legs and arms was now a tail and flippers. Riley spun around and swam forward into deeper water without totally leaving the vicinity.

zzzzz♟ Josh grinned wider than normal as the snarky comment laid down by Koda. It was a fire, and that was something he enjoyed. It was a strange reminder of home, harsh words whether or not they were sarcastic or just a simple warning. He almost said something about the lovely throwback he was experiencing, but then realized that was way too much explaining for them to understand why he actually enjoyed being verbally abused. Instead the boy raised his brows at the girl playfully. He was in such a good mood, and that only made it better. "That's cute," he replied to her simply. He wasn't flirting or anything, he just really loved cats. Specifically kittens. God they were adorable. With a reassuring nod, he added, "It fits."
Zinnia once again grappled his attention when she turned to conversation back to him. Josh wasn't really a vain person, but talking about himself wasn't something he'd stray from. Especially if he was asked directly like in this case. "I woke up a monkey in a tree. So yeah, kinda," he laughed. "I was just curious. I have a theory about people and their animals." Whether or not they wished to know about the thoughts in his head, he'd leave that for them to ask about. If they were really interested, it was a topic to distract them from the current situation while he and Bex lead them back to camp. Speaking of, they should get going. They might have food for these new cadets to eat, just in case they were hungry or anything. Oh yeah! The bag. "Just a sec." His human self grabbed a horizontal branch and pulled upward to lift his body into the tree. Once his feet settled on the wood, he took to his monkey form in order to maneuver through the sticks and leaves. The bag hadn't moved, and his fruit had been left untouched by any other critter in the tree tops. Wrapping it around his shoulders, the Capuchin made his way back to the ground. He stood on his back legs with a chirp before once again becoming human. The bag remained over one shoulder, laying on his hip. He grinned. "You guys ready?"

Her eyes narrowed further at Josh's next statement, not harshly you understand but rather in a way that masked her slight confusion, she allowed her thoughts to become absent after that, a slight instinctive twitch of a grin when she heard Zinnia's voice but nothing more than that. When Joshua moved off however, her eyes darted to follow him and she was almost tempted to go scrambling up the tree after him but she didn't yet trust her animal form and she wasn't too keen on falling backwards out of a tree and potentially killing herself. In all honesty she wasn't sure whether or not her ability to shift was a blessing or a curse, Joshua seemed to enjoy switching between a monkey or a human but to her it almost wasn't worth the pain that came from her previously fractured bone that she was almost certain was getting worse with each shift.
Koda was careful to watch each of Josh's movements to the exact detail, taking in just how effortlessly he went about life in his other form and attempting to recall back too how clumsy and panic-struck she had been. When he shifted she scrunched up her nose and managed a faint smirk in response to his question, "Lead the way Pocahontas," she hummed, giving a small wave of her hand to encourage him to take the first few steps, "You can't just monkey around forever."
