xxxxx۵ Blaze beat out all of the odds. She'd learned rather quickly in life that she was skilled in the arts of manipulation and deceit. It was a terrible thing for a child to know, hence her current title. The ginger was definitely the type to take advantage of her strengths and completely ignore the possibility of weaknesses. Okay well, she couldn't just ignore them entirely. Just like, ninety percent of the time. Figuring it was only optimism and a butt load of confidence, she viewed only the positives about herself. She never voiced her self opinions, because she wasn't a vain person. But everybody thought about themselves every once and a while, right? It happened a tad more frequently whenever one was alone, like our dear Blaze. She lived a solo life. The only interactions she got were those of her victims whenever she felt she wasn't threatened by making an appearance. There was indeed a catch to being the most wanted outlaw in the Kingdom. Almost all knew her general appearance of caramel eyes and firey hair. It wasn't the best way to make friends but she made do. That's what the tavern was for! A bunch of drunkards wouldn't remember the outlaw's features while under the influence of whiskey and rum. She entertained herself with the thoughts whenever visiting the bar in the evenings. But for now, in the early afternoon, she was busy. Blaze had a job, even if it was frowned upon. She had a family, kind of, to support and feed. Pulling her scarf upward over her nose, the ginger settled her feet on the ground. After hanging out in the trees for hours, the earth felt awkward and low. She walked towards the market's doors, hair hidden from view of anybody staring at her. The large barn-like structure was one of the most interesting places she visited on frequent occasions. On the outskirts of the forest, it was far from her home. But god, the stupidly long journey to this market was so worth it. If she could ride her horse, it would be so much easier. However, the damn palace guards knew her prized steed by coat. So leaving her horse about a mile away, she had taken to the treetops. This was not uncommon.
Squaring her shoulders, the outlaw stepped within the doors of the black market. It was busy with noise and trades, brawls and shouts for better deals. It was chaos, every being having to watch their step at all times, as well as their backs just in case somebody got too heated. Danger lurked within each and every tiny crevasse, and nobody was safe. It was freaking heaven. A smirk laid on her hidden face as she maneuvered her way to her favorite booth run by a man who was called James. He was so beautiful, but also had some of the best trades for her needs. He recognized her instantly, his most valued outlaw. They were all criminals to some extent here, no judgement. Though they would always take the opportunity to throw one of their own under the bus, and turn Blaze in for a little extra compensation. So rude. "What would you give a charming young lass in exchange for a ruby?" she cocked a brow, her smirk visible within her eyes.
James was captivated the moment the words left her lips. "Have any use for a new bow? Arrows, perhaps? I just received twenty."
Humming a thought, the ginger lifted her chin ever so slightly at his offer. "And how about you throw in a kiss while you're at it. Then we'd have a deal."
"You kill me, Makenna. Come 'ere."
The pair leaned forward and shared an overwhelmingly intimate smooch. Obviously it wasn't their lip's first encounter. It was the only physical attention she allowed herself to receive from him. Anything else, and emotions might actually get involved. Gross. No. They separated, and traded items. "Next time." Blaze winked and went on her way. Returning to the trees, she walked along the branches until her horse came into view. A sigh left her lips as she settled into the saddle, ushering the animal towards home. A gentle trot had her mind turning. As much as she craved some kind of human relationship, she didn't live the life that allowed it. She'd be putting any significant other in danger, and the girl didn't have the heart to do that. Solitude and eleven animals were plenty enough for this gal. Going along the familiar dirt path was a risk, but at the moment Blaze didn't feel like simply avoiding it. The road was one of the main pathways to and from either side of the forest. In the middle, it intersected with the perpendicular, which lead to the Kingdom. That one, was never rode upon by the outlaw for obvious reason. She stuck to the forest road, where various houses and buildings were being passed, those of the blacksmiths, the farmers, the peasants and the commoners with the occasional grocery market. She wasn't planning on stopping at any of these, since home was her destination.
