"There's no turning back now ..." A soft sigh slipped past once closely pressed lips. Staring at the gray panel of the house before her, Samarra realized that she was leaving her life behind to go on some adventure. An adventure with seven others, six of which being almost complete strangers to her. Maybe this wasn't the best idea after all. Perhaps she should just go back inside and get sleep for the night, going to school the next morning and returning to her normal life. No ... she couldn't do that, not anymore. This life she was leaving behind she refused to continue living under. It'd been so stressful, waking everyday to busy parents, hard set agendas and little, if any at all, freedoms to do for herself. Samarra had to admit though, she did have some comfort in having things planned out, not having to fear much of something going awry. However, that was no way for a teenager to live. She was getting closer to the end of her childhood. The last thing she could do and owe herself right now was a chance to finally get to experience what a teen did. Fun, adventure, mishaps, disasters and learning experiences the head way of course.
Her hazel eyes scanned over the home once more before she finally turned her back on it, suitcase in hand with all the clothes she'd need as well as some money and, of course, a little notebook that she often used to write her agendas in. Though there wasn't much she could write of what to do, considering she hadn't a clue where she and the rest would be going, she tried to plan out some things still. It was just rather difficult for her to even think about anything else without having some written words that she would do from her home to the meeting place, the park. It took her a few moments till she could move a foot forward and start walking down the sidewalk towards the park. This was all fairly new to Samarra and she knew there was bound to be some panic, maybe confusion, with her parents when they woke up to see she wasn't there. Why would they notice anyway? They never did to begin with, considering her mother was always running around the house putting her earrings on and grabbing a breakfast bar while her father was grabbing a cup of coffee and his briefcase before both headed out the door.
Deep in her thoughts, remembering the mornings that she was use to, Samarra had been only slightly paying attention to the direction the path before her was leading. When her foot stepped onto the grass of the park, she snapped out of her thoughts, looking ahead of her before giving one last sigh. And so this would be the day a new part of her life would begin. One without the chaos she'd been living in for seventeen years. Treking forward once more, she headed towards the meeting spot the eight were to meet. It only took her a few minutes before she could hear the voices of five present so far. There was a little hesitation that crept up in the girl but she pressed forward and found herself a bench to sit on, unzipping her suitcase slightly to where she could remove the notebook within and a pen. Opening the cover and flipping a few pages, Samarra read over the checklist she had made for herself earlier today before she left hours later. Clothes, money, some personal snacks and five people out of eight. Well, it appeared that three of the four checklist things were completely accounted for and the last one would require some waiting. At least it were only two others missing. She tapped the pen on the paper before pressing the back of the pen to her bottom lip gently, thinking to herself of what else she was missing or should take into account now before the rest arrived and the journey would begin.

Hayden have a half smile that felt uncomfortable, she didn't take the time to think about what it might look like before she let it drop from her face, "Yeah," she said quietly, her voice trailing off. She had never been very good at keeping conversations going, so it fell into an uncomfortable silence. She was aware of him giving her his attention, well at least she thought he was. She knew that people were good at pretending, she did it everyday. Hayden could almost feel the uncomfortable energy radiating off of Caspian and she shifted her feet. Knowing that no one liked being forced to do something they don't want to do, she decided to end the conversation there, "Well, um, I think we're about to leave anyways so I'm going to go get my stuff together," she said quickly. Hayden gave a small nod and turned on her heel back towards the bench where Talon and Luke were sitting, she also noticed a new face had arrived. It was Alex Robinson, the social girl.
The dark-haired girl heard her apologize for being late, but she didn't bother to say anything. Putting up that mask once more as she walked towards her suitcase with her belongings in it. She stood beside the small, rectangular bag and waited. Hayden knew they would be leaving soon, she just had to wait until everyone else had gotten thier things together. She quickly put her earbuds back in and blasted the music so that it was at full volume. She didn't really care if it was loud enough for the others to hear, soon she'd be able to rest in the camper on her own, she'd be able to relax and listen to music without worrying about school or the people at school... Hayden grabbed the handle of her suitcase and watched the star filled sky. She had always loved the night, mostly for that reason, the stars. Even as a young girl she loved to sit outside and watch the stars. When her parents had yelled she would run into her room to her window, which had a small roof outside of it, and she would sit there and watch te specks of light in the dark night sky.
Even when Hayden has gone to her know home she would sit on the small hill of a backyard they had and she would watch the sky. She never took the time to find the constellations, she could only ever find the Big Dipper anyways. It just offered time to either think it not think at all, it was usually the latter for her. She didn't like to remember the things that had happened at school most of the time. It just brought back more pain.

Talon Ravenwood
eighteen // no love interest // the rebel // tags; luke,
____________________________________________________________________________________________________talon watched as luke basically devoured the sandwich, a smile on his face in the process. it seemed he knew the boy better than he did himself, though he could be wrong. when luke apologized, the young man shrugged his shoulder. "i got another one so no worries." he stated as he lifted to bag in his hand up and showed luke but that caused him to miss a tile on the game. when luke questioned his new high score, he went through and looked. "it's the second one so there are a lot of songs, my highest overall score is around eighteen hundred on one song." he explained to his friend before he locked his screen and put his phone in his pocket.
he wondered where everyone was at and soon enough he spotted alex before she spoke up. he gave the girl a wave as a hello before his eyes found samarra in the distance. he also gave the girl a friendly wave. talon then watched as hayden came over and grabbed her suitcase. glancing towards luke, he spoke again. "well, looks like we're about to start this trip of ours. you didn't forget anything did ya lukey?" he questioned the boy beside him as he stood up and stretched his arms. in all honestly, the eighteen year old was wide awake and ready to get on the road. he'd most likely get in the camper and simply watch some movies or listen to music. right now everything was starting to come together, it seemed like everyone was here so it was time to get the party started in his mind. Caspian nodded but didn't say anything as Hayden headed off. That was a strange encounter. He shrugged it off, resuming his intense study of the curb side. He winced a bit as he realized Alex, the social girl, had shown up. of all the people to have chickened out why couldn't she have been one?
Caspian didn't know the girl herself per say, but he did know her type, and he hated them. They were the ones who made him feel like an outcast in the first place, and for that he had already developed bad feelings about this girl. The fact that she had shown up in such a nice car only further solidified his feelings about how entitled and shallow she must be. It seemed Samarra had also shown up. Caspian didn't know her all that well (not that he really knew anyone here) which made her just another face he was forced to be accompanied by.
It was surely getting late, and with that realization Caspian pulled out his phone. Dutifully it flashed up the time on the screen. 1:06. Abruptly he pushed himself up and joined back up with the little group. "We should start heading out," he declared. "I don't think anyone else is going to show." That was the truth, but Caspian left part of it unspoken. What he was really worried about was one of their parents waking up to find a note left by one of them, thus leading to a phone call to the police station. The last thing Caspian wanted was to be stopped now when freedom from this town was so close.
