Aidan bristled uncontrollably. She wanted to transform more than anything and rip Ramsey's face off--literally. She stood tensed nearby, glaring around at all of the guards. Was there any way she could take them all down? Any way at all? No... She was still too weak, and her wolf form was far too small to take on so many people.
She bluntly ignored Nick's silent pleading to back him up. Aidan wasn't going to choose between her friends. She simply refused.
Empty threats bubbled at the back of her throat, but she suppressed them. Aidan struggled to keep her voice calm. It was obvious that she was finding it difficult not to tackle Ramsey to the ground.
"Why do you find it necessary to do this? He hasn't lost control once, and I know he'd never hurt anyone if he didn't have to."
Aidan pretended to weave curse words into her speech in her brain.
