all throughout high school, it was just you and your group of five friends.
the beginning of senior year, one of them, maison, moved out to new york
to finish high school out there and start college right away at nyu. you
haven't seen her since summer, but now that it's winter break, she's invited
the five of you to her apartment in the heart of new york city.

wait, what?

a whole month in the big apple at christmas time with your five best friends?
how much better could it get? but there's more. maison's making everyone
participate in events she has planned for each night, to make it memorable.
after all, you're all going to college after this. just don't underestimate the drama.
after all, it's cold outside in the city.

girl has it all; good looks, good grades, and
practically the perfect life. you won't see her
hanging around the preppy kids though; she

he's the dad of the group. he'll supervise everything
to make sure everyone is safe. yet, he's not as bad of
a stick in the mud as you might think. he tends to be
a goofball, in the best of ways. he'll always keep the

she's the baby of the group. all of them feel protective
toward her, she's extremely innocent and naïve. she's
a sweetheart, and it's hard not to love her. yet, when
you hang around her, you'll probably have to explain

Kody quickly hustled through her apartment, mumbling about things to pack before her flight tomorrow. "Eek! Where is it? I have to find it!" She dove into her closet, clothes flying around her room as Oz hissed in response. Her head peaked up to see him, making a apologetic smile before disappearing. "Found it!" Trudging out with her most prized winter coat and admired it in the window's light. "Look at it, Oz! Isn't it perfection?" Oz made an approving purr before she went and cuddled him in her arms.

The girl looked at her phone, no one had texted her. How's everyone else getting there? The thought pondered around in her mind as Oz napped lazily in her lap. Soon returning to eating ramen noodles and drinking coffee while watching the news channel. Kody zoned out and day-dreamed how the reunion would go: everyone hugging and laughing... Stuffing themselves with food. What would we do?... What would I get for everyone for Christmas? Mistletoe..

maison awoke to a small ball of fluff snoring into her face. her eyes fluttered open, and she came face to face with clarice, her bernese mountain dog puppy. a smile spread across her face, and she kissed the puppy's pink nose. quietly so as not to wake her pet, she stood up and got out of bed. maison picked up her phone, sending out a group message to her best friends. "so excited to have you guys here for winter, see you in a few! love you all (;" she set her phone beside her pillow. it was a few hours before her friends would get there, and she had already set up the two guest rooms and pulled out the two couches the night before. tip toeing into the bathroom, she flicked on the water for the shower. she peeled off her pajamas, which consisted of an oversized tshirt and plush sleep shorts with cartoon moons on them, and stepped into the shower. fifteen minutes later, she was fresh as a daisy, and dressed in her outfit for the day. she wore a cream colored sweater, and light denim skinny jeans, with a pair of black oxfords that were terribly overworn. sitting in front of her mirror while clarice snoozed on her bed, she applied her daily makeup, which consisted of a few coats of thick black mascara, pink lipgloss, and a matte powder. satisfied, she hopped up from the chair, and nudged the puppy awake with a small hand.

"clarice, let's eat breakfast," she whispered, and the puppy jumped up instantly. maison ran a hand through her long dark hair, and headed down the stairs with the puppy at her feet. popping two pieces of bread into the toaster, she poured some dry puppy food into a dish alongside some water. a minute later, the machine beeped, and she pulled out the toast. her eyes drifted to her clock, and there was still about two hours until the group was supposed to arrive. she finished off her toast, and sent out another text. "hope you guys are leaving soon, i can't wait. try to carpool please, i have a really small driveway!"

her crossbody purse, that looked vintage with elephats dotted across the fabric, was spilled across the kitchen counter. clarice was perched above it, digging for a treat. maison stifled a laugh, and handed her a small milkbone from a container. she picked up the bag, and carried it upstairs, trying to tidy her room a little more before the group arrived. her room looked more empty than usual, as she had put most of her framed pictures of the group along the huge kitchen walls. her bed was surrounded entirely by fluffy pillows, and two elephant stuffed animals. one of them was small, and was clarice's, and one was larger for maison. the two guest rooms were sort of small, but maison had painted them white to make them look spacious. in each was a twin sized bed with fluffy blankets. in the living room downstairs, two couches were pulled out across the room from each other. these, too, had fluffy blankets. maison was ecstatic that she could see her friends again, for the entirety of their winter break.
