athene has always had a mind for mathematics. numbers make sense. they're reliable when your world begins to shatter. maybe that's the allure athene sees in the stars: out there, a whole new frontier with new laws of physics and new discoveries to be made, there's still numbers. there's still a language. armed with the desire to discover, athene plunged into the academy with a purpose. she'd been taught that you had to dream to succeed, and though some of the other students found her outlook irritating, athene stuck by it. she'll get through.

nailah's dream was to be in the music industry. her mother was a musician and a pretty good one, but she died when her children were very young and left her talents with nai and her brother, duane jr. duane, however, followed in his father's footsteps; he became a technician of starfleet. nai opposed her brother's decision, as she expected her father wanted her to make the same one. nailah was right; the second she graduated high school she said goodbye to her potential music career hello to space training. she didn't hate it, however. her fall-back job was to be a psychologist, after all, and just being on starfleet was an honor in itself. on her days off, she often listened to the symphonies that her mother had conducted, strumming along on whichever orchestral instrument was closest. music was dying industry in those days, nailah knew that. her chances of even making money off of the sheer practice was unlikely. whilst she loves starfleet, the yearn for the treble clef and solfege will forever lie in her heart. even though nailah loves to help people, counselling was only enjoyable on certain days, rare days. otherwise it was the same ordeal day after day, a dispute between directives and communications, somebody getting into a discrepancy over power. starfleet was generally mentally stable, and if you weren't, well, you probably weren't on starfleet.

Blake was born and raised just outside of the town of Nowogródek, situated in western Belarus, in the Naliboki Forest with his family, his original name being Viachaslau, but changing that prior to emigration as you tend to find work better with a more pronounceable name.
His family line consisted of settled gypsys and Belorussian natives, his fathers side of the family were traditional craftsmen, using resources from the forest around them but with the introduction of new technology and thinning of the forest to make way for roads and shipping lanes it quickly moved on to repair of vehicles and craft vessels. His mother however valued and kept her traditional gypsy life style, owning a bow top cart, with several horses and sold her home-made wares and trinkets, which offered some more income to the household.
Blakes brothers followed his dads profession and his younger sister is looking to become a nurse.
Blake, from a young age, however was always fascinated by technology much to his mothers displeasure and followed his father everywhere around work, or learnt tricks of the trade from his brothers when they returned home. However he still loved his home forest, forever spending hours getting lost and making discoveries and often getting into trouble, fights and poaching were his main two skills.
Several years down the line, when the family had emigrated to America, and Blake reached 18 and his behaviour spiraled down hill, often been brought home in states of intoxication or injury from fights, his father had to cut his hours due to physical difficulties and Asael, his eldest brother, had left home with his fiancée. Blake got to a point where he lacked stability and re-assurance in himself and so his mother sent him to the academy to mentally 'sober' him up. She knew Blake had the skills and know how, but she knew her son needed to confidence and structure to achieve something.
Since leaving home, with a few points of mention on his criminal record, Blake has settled into the academy, but still shows signs of being a little 'odd' at times.

A natural romantic at heart, Blake is laid back and care free most of the time, fueling his passion into his new found love for defensive tactics and weaponry, he will care for those he deems in need of his attention but get on his wrong side and you'll have months of grudge holding and cold shoulders. Blake tends to come off as personally defensive and tends to help others rather than himself, he hides his feelings rather well when it suits him and it can sometimes all boil over and lead to trouble.
Recklessness and stubbornness are his main points of personal weakness, he will rarely follow orders properly unless it suits him or he sees it right to do so and he can be a difficult character to try and persuade to do something properly, that is unless he finds some motivation in said activity.
Blake is described as properly built, pale skinned with piercing green eyes. His hair is short cut and messy, a dusky, dirty blonde colour with brown tints in the light and slight shaved around the sides. He had a small tattoo on the back of his neck, a stag antler, plain and simple in black ink.
Blake is also known for his addiction with his pride and joy, an old dodge charger of which he won out gambling one night, beginners luck.
