xxxxxxxxCharlotte became absorbed in sending the text. Thoughts about Kota, the party, and many other things distracted her from Hyunsik's voice. Fortunately, she managed to catch the last part of what he said: "...Truth or dare?" The words echoed in the nearly empty room. The suggestion almost elicited a laugh out of the brunette. After all she had been through that day, it felt comical and out of place. They were in a dark room, and Hyunsik wanted to play "Truth or Dare," a popular game that resulted in all kinds of baffling reactions. Yet, somehow, it was perfect at the same time. There was no better way to break the ice than to do something silly and exhilarating. Therefore, she tentatively nodded in agreement. Immediately after, Charlotte wondered what she was getting herself into. One teenage girl and two boys that barely knew each other playing truth or dare? It did not sound like how she imagined she would spend her Friday night. She hoped neither of them could see her nod in the dark. The brunette turned her attention to the phone resting in her lap when the screen lit up once more. It was from none other than Kota. No. I'm fine. I don't need anything to talk about. Louvel? Ur kidding... Please tell me ur kidding. Whatever, I'm on my way, her friend replied. Was there something wrong with Louvel? Charlotte could not fathom why anyone would detest Vel. She knew the irascible redhead was not the easiest to get along with, but it was difficult to believe Kota went as far as to say she had a distaste for the seemingly innocent boy. Whatever the case, Kota was coming upstairs to join Charlotte, so Kota would have to put up with any issues she had with Louvel. The brunette felt a small smile creeping on. Maybe her loneliness would subside if she had the comfort of her closest friend.
xxxxxxxxIt was not long before the mahogany door swung open. A girl about the age of seventeen with sleek, rustic-brown hair and complementary hazel eyes crossed the threshold and waltzed into the room. She plopped down on the ground next to Charlotte and commented with that bold, confident voice of hers, "Such a child's game, don't you think? Try something more fun. Oh! How about Silent Keahi Tokalas for a name. It means fire fox." Her unexpected proclamation seemed abrasive to Hyunsik as he slunk down as if wanting to disappear. Nonetheless, Charlotte was glad to have Kota there. "Silent Keahi Tokalas?" the brunette echoed, trying out the interesting title. "Huh, I guess it's got an interesting ring to it." Charlotte got quiet when she heard Kota directly speak to her. "You alright? You can tell me later if you want," the redhead whispered. Charlotte just looked at her. It was tempting to be honest, but although she dreamed of telling Kota everything, the brunette suddenly felt uncomfortable. She nervously shifted in her place and bit her lip. It was then that Charlotte realized it would have been easier to explain everything to a complete stranger than someone who knew her and cared about her...It was a curious realization. "I'm fine," Charlotte replied. She was starting to believe it, too. Things were getting better. The brunette decided, for sure now, that Truth or Dare would lighten her spirits. "Yeah, it may be a childish game, but I like it. We should do it," Charlotte spoke up. The creaky door opened again. If Hyunsik, Lottie, and Vel were the lone wolves before, they were now an enormous pack with the new arrivals. The latest addition to the group was another lovely girl. It took Charlotte a moment to recognize her, but she eventually remembered her name was Anastasia. A vague memory of Anastasia and Hyunsik cozying up to each other in the school parking lot reminded Charlotte that the two dated once...a long, long time ago. Her suspicions were confirmed when her gaze landed on Hyunsik. If he was uncomfortable before, it was nothing compared to how he felt now. The presence of his ex-girlfriend brought on unexpected awkwardness. The temperature in the room seemed to drop by at least twenty degrees as Anastasia sat down. Since when did it get so crowded? Charlotte was starting to get cold. It was hot and sticky downstairs, but now that she moved upstairs, Charlotte was starting to feel the effects of the frigid winter air although she was unsure it was from her comfortableness or the actual weather. She rubbed the goosebumps appearing on her arms and tried to stop herself from shivering. "So we were just about to, um, play Truth or Dare. Who wants to get us started?" Charlotte asked.

"I'd like to see you mad," Charles laughed, reaching forward with his hands to tickle Lauren some more. "How scary you would be! A fluffy Lauren - what I wouldn't give to see that." Of course, Charles wasn't really keen on seeing Lauren mad. He wasn't keen on seeing anybody angry, for that matter. But poking fun at her put him in a good mood - and her, too, as it seemed. Charles was slightly aware of the party going on around him and Lauren. How could he not? Over the course of the last few minutes, the room had gotten impossibly thicker. The air was heavy and laden with drinks and laughter. The conversations, meaningless talk, that buzzed around Charles were nothing more than a mere annoyance to him. But the boy liked it, for some reason. He liked this - being surrounded by people. And no it didn't have to do with the fact that he was attempting to avoid an awkward situation with his girlfriend - or at least that's what he tells himself. Being surrounded by people gave Charles a feeling of security and belonging. There was nothing more lonely than being by oneself.

He had to admit - he was quite taken aback by Lauren's sharp, defensive reply. He wasn't used to cutting words like those from his girlfriend's lips. They never really fought before. His brown eyes studied his girlfriend's, scrutinizing her. She said she was fine, but even Charles could sense that something was odd. 'If there's nothing wrong, then there's nothing wrong,' he assured himself after a while. He trusted Lauren; if there was something wrong, then surely his girlfriend would simply tell him? Charles wasn't the type of guy to be all too amused with a "nothing" game. A "nothing" game - a game in which the girlfriend would persistently retort "nothing" when asked "what's wrong?" Charles was more of a straight forward guy - it didn't help that he was somewhat naive when it came to emotions, anyway. "I dunno," Charles replied, lifting an eyebrow and watching as she scanned the room for an escape. Like a doe in the headlights. Like a caged animal. Very much unlike Lauren. 'Really, what's your problem?' He resisted the temptation of spitting those words out, though the temptation was quite powerful. "You just seem a bit jumpy tonight is all," he sighed tiredly, already tiring of this conversation.

He loosened slightly, relieved, as Lauren swooped in to plant a kiss on his lips. Of course she didn't want to argue in the midst of all these people. 'Is it safe to walk?' he wondered to himself. Ah, why did relationships have to be so confusing? He was slightly aware of all the hardships of a relationship when he had asked Lauren to be his girlfriend, but at that moment he hadn't been all too focused on the negatives. How could he be when was holding the most beautiful girl? "So," he began, taking a hold of Lauren's hand. "What do you want to do?" He examined the crowd, chuckling as people screamed and hollered in excitement. He wouldn't bet on this party ending any time soon, or coming home before eleven as he had promised his mother. As the cheetah shifter took a look around the room, he noticed that several people were missing - Charlotte and Kota, namely. A small part of him felt guilty that he had made Charlotte feel uncomfortable enough to leave; perhaps an apology was due. Kota was probably with Charlotte. Charles couldn't lie - he was looking forward to seeing Kota. To speak with her, even if just for a little. He didn't know what exactly it was with Kota, but for some reason he felt an odd sort of gravitation towards her. He turned his focus back onto Lauren, sorely guilty that he had allowed his thoughts to drift once more. 'Get it together.' "Well?" he asked with a smile, reaching forward to interlace his fingers with Lauren's.

Cameron watched as Kota walked away, her lithe form pushing into the crowd until Cameron lost sight of her figure. Her words still rang in his ears and a flash of annoyance crossed his face. Kota was rather...unpleasant. She was bitter and cynical-neverthelessa a tad bit melodramatic. If anyone hated her it was most likely because of her attitude, not the fact that she was an...outsider. Cameron tried not to dwell on what she had said though, his eyes watching the crowd intently as if he was waiting for something to happen. Every once in a while he would catch a flash of Charles and Lauren amidst the moving bodies and his stomach would twist itself in knots. Yuck. Turning his head away, Cameron's head turned to stare at the spot in the crowd where Kota had disappeared. Some part of him desperately wanted to follow her, not because he had an interest in her but rather because he was bored. In the end, Cameron decided against the idea. If he followed her, no doubt Kota would retaliate. As much as he craved adventure, he would rather not get beaten up by a girl. Still, when Cameron caught sight of Kota again through the crowd and appeared to be making her way towards what looked like a set of stairs in the back, Cameron couldn't resist. Abandoning his spot, he followed the girl, staying far enough away that he hoped she wouldn't notice him. If he was caught, he supposed he could make up an excuse on the fly.

Waiting on the edge of the stairs, Cameron glanced back down at the main floor. When he heard the a door open (for it creaked rather loudly) Cameron's head whipped back around. His frame leaned forward just in time to witness Kota entering a room. The girl seemed rather hesitant as if it the last things she wanted to do was go in there, but in the end she went. The door closed and Cameron deemed it safe enough to walk up the last stair and walk softly up to the door that Kota had gone into. He could hear through the door someone talking about the game Truth or Dare. Cameron felt a bit strange eavesdropping nevertheless following Kota but that feeling didn't stop him from entering the room where the unpleasant girl had gone into; he regretted his decision as soon as he opened the door. All the people he recognized from school-some he knew less than others. With a apologetic smile Cameron said, "I heard a rumor that there were people up here; I decided I'd join in if that's all right?" He directed the comment at Charlotte, ignoring Kota entirely. The urge to shoot her a smirk was rather persistent but he decided not to do it. Cameron might be the slightest bit naive but he was hardly stupid.

As he waited for Charlotte to answer his question, Cameron's eyes darted around the room to look at each individual person. It was true, he did recognize all of them. By nature, Cameron was observant. He tended to notice those who stuck out. Many of these individuals had caught his eye over the past year though he had spoken to only a few of them.

Lauren Frasier
Mood: Eh ~ Tagged: Charles ~ Role: The Lioness ~ Ooc: It's a little rushed, my bad
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lauren let out a small giggle, playfully swatting her boyfriend's hand away. "Oh, no you wouldn't wanna see me mad! You see, you simply don't bother me like others do," She teased, looking around the party once more, taking in the environment. She simply laughed again, nudging his shoulder. The two always had a relationship of many 'dimensions' as she would call it. The two could both be extensively satisfied with being with each other, but were also content with the idea of personal business and personal space as well. They had the ability, although not done often, to be completely serious. And yet they were also making fun of each other constantly, teasing and what-not. Although sometimes they play-fought, they seemed to be able to be just as affectionate at any time either one pleases. Lauren expected that was why many others viewed them as some sort of 'power couple'. Well, that and the fact that they were both rather high up on the social ladder. Realistically, many people viewed the two of having a good life with their relationship. They were quite honest with one another, talking over their concerns when they came up; although realistically they hadn't had many real rough patches in their relationship yet. But the lioness was confident there would be some in time. Some of which of course, the female was not excited for.
Lauren realistically didn't like to think about the fact they both lied to each other, although she was quite positive she was not the only guilty party in the art of being completely truthful. In fact, Lauren was very, very confident that her boyfriend had just lied to her by the way he reacted, she couldn't exactly be sure though. You were supposed to trust your boyfriend, right? Then again, why would anyone trust some crazy teen that kept blacking out, disappearing? Exactly; one shouldn't. So maybe that was why she dropped the subject so quickly. Her lies were a bit easy to tell by such a sharp tongue, a trait she didn't just have all the time. But technically speaking she was fine. There was nothing actually wrong aside from mass paranoia. But it scared her that at any time, she could not be. It felt much more like an eternity than a few seconds before he replied. Charles seemed quite unsure and it didn't surprise her much, really. Lauren probably wouldn't have believed it either. Figuring the male had given in before an actual conflict could start [which she was more than thankful for] she took her chance to stare off into the crowd, just in case she felt a getaway was suitable. And if her plan didn't work, most likely her plan of action. "Um, yeah... I guess it's just the coffee getting to me," She let out a nervous laugh, a little disappointed at the lie. Geez, she was an awful under pressure, on the spot liar. "You know, that's why I don't drink coffee! The freakin' long term effect kills me," Now that one came out a lot smoother.
Either way, in order try and prevent the doubt, or at least avoid it, she pressed her lips to his, happy that he accepted it with no reluctance. She let out an internal sigh of relief as his hand grasped her own, asking what she wanted to do. As if on cue, everyone's voices became louder in her ears. An array of voices were mentioning the idea of truth or dare, and honestly she had no complaints when it came to that game. The female let out a grin at the sound of her boyfriend's chuckle and simply looked up at him. She observed him with careful eyes as well as thoughtfulness at what she would have liked to do, given he had given Lauren the free reign. He was staring off, deep in thought, but she didn't want to ask in case a lie was presented. "Truth or dare, maybe?" She suggested once he had urged for an answer. "Come on," She gently tugged his hand, leading him through the crowd.

SHE LIVES HER LIFE LIKE SNOW, BEAUTIFUL YET COLD

Kota turned to her cranium to the door as she saw a girl come in the dim lit room. She seemed a bit skittish to find the room full of people. She seemed to want to shrink even more when she saw Hysunik among the four people she had walked in on. She turned to see the boy, once shrinking back from Kota's comment about the game and what name of the club they should choose, no shifting on his seat a bit uncomfortably. It had indeed become an awkward moment. Relationships at school were mostly known by everyone and were all people ever talked about when something happened in them. Anastasia and Hysunik's was no exception. Kota knew that they were once together and had broken up a bit ago. Even though the rustic red head was oblivious to most feelings everyone had for each other, she had known Anastasia had not yet let go, mostly because every kid in school had known that.
The fox snapped her attention back to her best friend. She nearly gave a glare, detecting a lie. It wasn't that she was able to detect lies, which she was slightly, it was more that "I'm fine" was a common lie used by Charlotte and almost any girl who was not "fine." But before Kota could get a bit mad at her friend, she shrugged it off, noting in
her mind that she would indeed make her friend spill later. She needed to know what was wrong and it hurt her to see her one and only friend struggling or hurt with anything.
Kota crossed her legs and leaned her back against the wall, slouching. She took a gulp of her pop as she wanted to run away from the incredibly uncomfortable moment of the two. Although it did seem a bit intriguing, the girl had better things to do. She set her cup down and grabbed the towel, continuing to wipe down her clothes which were now beginning to feel sticky from the spill a bit ago.
When the door creaked once again, Kota sighed, becoming annoyed of how many people were wanting to come into the room. She looked up at found the the newbie was now a boy she recognized. One in fact she had seen only moments ago. She groaned even older, clearly growing in annoyance. She turned back to wiping her clothes down again, but when the boy spoke, she couldn't help but pop a glare in his direction. Then of course, she noticed he was not looking at her. She still knew he had followed her. It was written plainly on his face although, she would admit that he was hiding it quite well.
"You don't have to name it Keahi Tokalas. I was just offering." The girl didn't feel guilty nor was she trying to be nice, but she was trying to show she didn't care either way. When Charlotte offered someone to start them off with the game, she turned to the boy with pierced ears with a devilish grin. "Why don't, um, say you start us off since you came up with the idea." She waited calmly for the boy to respond and finished off her cup of pop. Kota poured another full cup of pop from the liter of soda she had brought up with her. She handed a poured some in another red plastic Dixie cup and handed it to her friend beside her.

Hyunsik didn't say anything as he sat still in the dark. More and more people started filing into the room, and he began to wonder if someone was deliberately texting them to come over. Or was it purely coincidental? He watched as Cameron walked in, but said nothing. He just ran a hand through his hair. So almost the entire crew was here now. "Uh...can we just say this is a group or something?" he asked a little shyly, not sure if he wanted a name. It wasn't that official or formal of a group anyways. It was just two friends who were trying to hide in a dark room upstairs from the party outside and the booming music. And then it turned into an ever growing group of acquaintances and friends together in the dark room. Katherine spoke up again, offering him to start the game, he frowned a little "I thought you thought it was a childish game and didn't want to play" he mumbled half heartedly and more to himself, then anything else. Hyunsik couldn't help but hope that Katherine didn't hear him speak his thoughts outloud- or did he want her to? He wasn't so sure. Aside from Katherine making him feel rather uncomfortable, there was still that issue with his ex girlfriend, Anastasia, being here too... Hyunsik couldn't help but still want to go back in time when it was just Louvel and him again. It was much more chill with just two guys in here anyways, rather than a group of people that he only half knew as friends. He didn't take time to loathe either Katherine or his ex however, and cleared his throat a little to start the game.

Hyunsik scanned he crowd of people in here, so far there was Louvel next to him, Katherine, Charlotte, Cameron and Anastasia (is that all of them?). First time playing this game, there were a lot of things running through his head. Of course there were a lot of things to think about. Clearing his throat a little he looked at them for a moment, before he turned to Louvel and gave him a rather wry smile"Louvel, Truth or Dare?" he asked. Maybe he could get something out of his friend, or catch a dare that wouldn't make things awkward between them.

Charles feigned shock with a laugh: "Why, aren't I a special little cookie?" Honestly, to him, a relationship like this was the best - acting like best friends, but having a romantic connection underneath. He wasn't all for an all too serious relationship. What he wanted (and lived for) was fun. Lauren provided him with that, and not in the malicious way. Charles genuinely appreciated her presence and character; he loved her for, well, her. He simply enjoyed the fact that he was still able to poke fun with her without receiving an earful about "respect." Isn't that what high school relationships were all about? Charles, face still bright and a smile on his lips, stuck his tongue out playfully at Lauren. "So when you turn angry, do you grow seven feet tall and turn as red as a tomato?" he teased.

Lauren was a terrible liar. Did she know that? Well, she would have to be lying to herself if she didn't. Or just blind. 'Lauren, a blind and deaf mouse can tell that you're lying,' he held back his thoughts, focus trained on her pretty face. Unlike Lauren, Charles was a good liar. That's why his parents were oblivious to his long periods of absence. That's why Lauren hadn't really suspected anything - until now, that is. Strange, huh? But, if Charles did think about it for a while, Lauren had been acting strangely for the past few weeks. He doubted that "coffee" was the reason, though he accepted her lie with a shrug. If she didn't want to talk about it, then that was all fine and dandy by him. In fact, he was sort of relieved. "You're weak!" he replied, wanting to keep the light atmosphere going. "I hope you can sleep tonight. A princess needs her beauty sleep."

"Yes, anything you want, mistress," Charles answered Lauren with a smug grin, obediently weaving through the crowd with his fingers still interlaced with Lauren's. 'Wow, just how late is it?' he wondered to himself, looking around the crowd. Since when was the crowd this big? He was surprised that a house, even this size, could fit so many people. And when did the music become so loud? He could feel the quick, deep beats shake the floor underneath his feet. "I'm going to be deaf by morning," he lamented, pouting a little. Once they reached the bottom of the staircase, Charles took the lead and slowly walked up the stairs. There was a drastic difference; he could feel it immediately. The atmosphere upstairs was much quieter and peaceful - such a cool contrast from downstairs.

xxxxxxrooms this size were certainly not built to be crammed full with what seemed like hundreds of teenagers. he hadn't realized the mistake he'd been making in taking his shelter with in the confines of a measly bedroom. he hadn't known that eventually the room would be brimming with life, almost as crowded as the chaos he'd been trying to escape in the first place. the wolf sat quietly, criss cross apple sauce at charlotte's side observing as she and hyunsik began conversing amongst themselves, almost as if louvel had never really been there at all. the only acknowledgement he really received after the girl's appearance was a slight smile from the other male. their conversation wasn't very entertaining, but vel didn't mind listening nonetheless. "so what's the club's name, hyunsik? have you guys decided? if you haven't chosen yet, i've got a few names in mind. we're no breakfast club, so i was thinking we could be known as the lone wolves or the hermit crabs," the boy's entire spine went rigid because that small comment? yeah, that hit way too close to home for comfort. was it possible that maybe she knew? louvel didn't think so. he was always so extremely cautious around everyone, there was no way he'd let it slip. he turned to peer at the girl through the dim light of the room. she didn't look dubious, just plain amicable. but the wolf didn't relax until he heard hyunsik continue their discussion as though nothing strange had happened at all. had anyone been paying attention to him, they would have noticed that the relief that flooded off the wolf came in waves, and was surely palpable.
xxxxxx silence settled again, crawling through the air uncomfortably this time, and it made louvel itch to get up and just run. or howl. or just speak. but he didn't, how could he break something so fragile? turns out he didn't have to, "since there is a rather loud party outside... it seems like a good place to start... and i've never played this before... anyone up for a game of truth or dare?" it was an interesting prospect. there were only three of them sitting there, awkwardly together, louvel wasn't sure if trying to play such games would make or break their situation. he decided it was worth a shot and hummed quietly to signal his agreement. games like these were supposed to be fun, plenty of teens played truth or dare. right? vel felt his chest puff up happily at the thought of functioning like a completely normal, sane human being.
xxxxxx "such a child's game, don't you think? try something more fun. oh! how about silent keahi tokalas for a name. it means fire fox." or at least he had been proud about agreeing to such terms until kota showed up, wily as usual, completely crushing his moment of pride. a scowl settled onto the boy's face and he could practically taste her desperate need to dominate the direction of their previous conversation and possibly the world. louvel was not a very big fan of katherine. she was sneaky, disrespectful, and mocked almost everything with out care. it was repulsing. and silent keahi tokalas? really? the wolf's scowl only deepened. didn't she know to never trust a fox? they were conniving canines and the only thing reassuring about that was their lack of relation to the lupine family. and since when did katherine know hawaiian? the wolf shook his head turning his gaze downwards, that way he could bore holes into the ground while lottie and her friend (kota was evil, therefore vel decided he would avoid speaking her name, or even thinking it really) began their own talk. definitely not because he was trying to hide the flashing color of his iris'.
xxxxxx they continued on like that for a short amount of time, hyunsik speaking with both girls while louvel sat in silence. transparent. until he perked up at the sound of wandering footsteps in the hallway. who ever was out there, they didn't seem lost, and he didn't know how to describe it. determined maybe? like they knew they're were people hidden away somewhere, waiting to be found. shortly after discovering the noise on the other side of the wall, the door squealed open, slowly this time. louvel didn't know the girl standing in the door way, which was odd. he could usually remember faces if not scents from around school, but vel could only seem to draw blanks while trying to put a name to her face. "hey guys" she spoke to them in a mumble that louvel just barely picked up thanks to his advanced senses. she closed the door quietly behind her and almost out of no where the level of tension permeating the room was suffocating. beside him hyunsik began to move around awkwardly. "er..m...hi" the wolf turned to stare at the other boy. did he know her? clearly he did and it seemed as though they hadn't ended things on the right foot last time they spoke. vel wanted to gag at the scent of their discomfort. it was making him restless, and he really, really, really couldn't risk shifting now. that would be a horrible mistake. the boy shifted around on the floor, wrapping his arms around his torso, trying his best to look less intimidating than he often did sitting that way. he thought he could hear the faint sound of yet another heart beat waiting out beyond the door, but he chose to ignore it. "so we were just about to, um, play truth or dare. who wants to get us started?"
xxxxxx oh. so they were going to play? the wolf lit up a small bit upon hearing lot tie's voice. he certainly wouldn't start, unless of course it would please the girl because that was all his wolf wanted to do as it scratched and clawed with in him, desperate to get out, but louvel couldn't shift now. he couldn't even shift here at all if he needed to. a rumble bubbled up in his chest and the noise was so scarily inhuman that he silenced the reflex almost instantly. though maybe he hadn't been fast enough? he glanced around at the faces of his peers, silently hoping no one had heard. and then the door creaked open. again. louvel recognized the boys heartbeat instantly, as the same one that he had heard faintly just before, as well as the one belonging to cameron in his english class. "i heard a rumor that there were people up here; i decided i'd join in if that's all right?" the wolf wanted to growl, that no, it wasn't alright. the room was crowded, running out of space for the gang of teens, growing increasingly more uncomfortable as time went on. but he didn't. as usual. he just huffed and returned to aimlessly gazing over the floor, continuing the popular pastime he'd grown accustomed to.
xxxxxx vel continued to stare at the wooden planked floor even after the people around him picked their conversation up, as if nothing had even happened to it at all. as if they hadn't been reduced to silence just mere seconds ago. the wolf had also internally agreed to remain looking down, ignoring the chatter around him. he had solely intended on it really, but of course hyunsik, the innocent angel he was probably only hoping to include his silent friend, ruined everything. louvel could feel the prickling beneath his skin, alerting him than not just one set of eyes had landed on him, but almost everyone had taken up looking in his direction as if he'd suddenly become the next best thing since sliced bread. "louvel, truth or dare?" vel inwardly groaned. he hadn't expected to be picked first, hell he didn't even know how this whole shebang worked. but he was trying to be human, not the wolf. he shook his head slightly, ridding himself of his meager internal conflict. it wouldn't hurt to go first. he had wanted to play after all. so sucking in a small breath and adjusting himself so he appeared attentive, he answered hyunsik after thinking over his choices for a moment, "truth?"

xxxxxxxxThe group kept increasing as if the real party was in the small, dark bedroom Charlotte found refuge in only a few minutes earlier. Her safe haven fell apart when yet another person entered. It was a familiar boy with dark hair. Like the others, she recognized him as a fellow classmate named Cameron. To her, he was an extremely intelligent individual with fascinating knowledge that impressed Charlotte. It seemed like, whenever his arm shot up to answer a question, he was correct in every way possible, and whenever his lips opened, something intelligent and/or witty escaped his mouth. Charlotte glanced over at her best friend and noticed the redhead was repelled by the arrival of Cameron. To add to the drama, she audibly groaned. Charlotte made a mental note to ask her friend, later, about what went down with Cameron. The brunette returned her gaze to the newest member of their "club." His eyes, adjusting to the dark, fixed on Charlotte. A faint smile crossed his face. "I heard a rumor that there were people up here; I decided I'd join in if that's all right?" Cameron inquired. Charlotte nodded in approval. "Of course. Come sit down," the brunette invited, trying to sound as cheerful as possible. There was subdued doubt in her voice despite her attempts to mask it. The endless line of people filing into the cramped tiny, dingy room caused Charlotte to feel claustrophobic. Luckily, her wave of sickness was gone, so she guessed she could deal with playing a game of truth or dare with...What was it now? Five or six people? The more the merrier, Charlotte unenthusiastically thought in an attempt to convince herself. However, a different kind of hesitance almost immediately followed when Kota suggested with a diabolical smile, "Why don't, um, say you start us off since you came up with the idea?" She directed her comment to Hyunsik, who looked as if he were shrinking into the shadows. Kota tended to have that effect on people. Nonetheless, she was a unfailingly kind and considerate at heart. If Kota did not put up a front, Charlotte believed the redhead would be the world's sweetest person. As proof, Kota took her enormous bottle of soda and poured some out for Charlotte. She peered suspiciously at Kota as if it were poisoned, and then, she shrugged and downed the liquid. The carbonated, bubbling pop drink exploded in her mouth and electrified her taste buds. "Thank you," the brunette whispered to her friend.
xxxxxxxx"Louvel, Truth or Dare?" Hyunsik asked, obeying Kota after all. Charlotte glanced over at the boy by her side. He had been so quiet that she had almost forgotten about him. It was difficult to read the troubled eighteen-year-old's stone cold face, but Charlotte sensed discomfort. He was silent for a suspenseful moment but eventually decided, "Truth?" His palpable uncertainty was a clear as glass to Charlotte. She could not blame him. The brunette was convinced that the purpose of Truth or Dare was to surround a person and attack them with petty jabs. There was no escaping them, and one was not necessarily better with Truth than a dare and vice versa. Most considered Truth the easy way out, but Charlotte did not believe so. Although there were no lie detectors to confirm if one was being truthful, the questions for truth were usually secret facts no one would ever dare to reveal about his or herself. Dares, on the other hand, were equally dreadful. Public humiliation was the result of a basic dare while an incurable scar was left from a carefully thought out dare. Charlotte was grateful she was not in the same position as Louvel. The brunette loathed being the victim of the childish game. It was as if the player was a carcass watching vultures circle overhead. Being on the outside looking in was a whole another scenario. Though she would not admit it, there was something amusing about observing the person squirm under the pressure. It was fun to hear the embarrassing yet comical truths revealed, such as learning one wore Spiderman underpants, and survey the humiliating yet hilarious actions people were forced into because of a dare, such as going to a next door neighbor and breakdancing in front of them. At the same time, the sympathetic brunette pitied poor Louvel. What had he ever done to deserve this? Yet, in spite of herself, Charlotte was excited to hear whatever dark, dirty secret Louvel was about to spill.

Lauren Frasier
Mood: Neutral ~ Tagged: Everybody ~ Role: The Lioness ~ Ooc: it took so long for me to post, sorry! I had a lil miscommunication
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lauren hummed happily in response to her boyfriend, twirling a piece of hair around her finger. "You are not special," She stated, trying to keep a straight face, but ending up breaking into a smile unintentionally as always. Honestly, it was quite difficult for the girl to keep a straight and blank face in general. When she was trying to be serious in situations like this only made it worse. People tended to think she was a bit like a child in that way: she was always giggly, smiley, and talkative. Well most of the time, at least. The second you crossed her, she was as bitter as one could ever get. That also tended to be why her position on the social ladder was never challenged. The two continued to tease one another, something they had grown accustomed to over time of being both friends and in a relationship. "I don't really know. I think it's best for that to stay a mystery, hm?" She gave the question a playful undertone, throwing in a quick wink as well.
Lauren had gotten an inclination he didn't really believe her, but she just kind of pretended she didn't notice. She was good at that form of lying: the kind where she offered a certain vibe that showed an emotion she had the opposite of. Then again, she couldn't tell a lie if her life depended on it most of the time. Lauren had certain emotions she could hide if she chose to, and others not so much. When she was nervous, depending on the degree of it, it was quite easy to tell. And Lauren was painfully aware of it; it seemed to make her even more conscious about, increasing the nervousness and only making her lying get worse and worse with her body language. But she cold fake a smile so much like her normal one no one could ever tell the difference. Her laugh was the same way. Her posture and body language had been lying to everyone recently, as she is no where near the same confident somebody she was. Every thought she has contains an underlying hesitance. And it came from the simple concept of not knowing. The experiences she'd been having made her realize she didn't know a lot more than she thought. In fact she hardly knew a thing. She knew all that was in her brain, and that was it. And the brain is a small place. It only knows so much. She realized she didn't know much of what people thought of her, what was truth and what was lies, much of the world around around her. Lauren only knew of her life in the moment; she always lived in the moment.
When Charles made a comment regarding her lie on coffee, she smiled almost graciously, ready to tease him again. "I most certainly am not!" She poked his chest, allowing the mood to stay positive instead of drifting back into the tense one they carried around them before. Lauren's green eyed gaze captured his and she smirked slightly. "Pssshh, I don't need beauty sleep. I'm flawless all the time," She flipped her hair over dramatically for the slight comical effect. He had asked her what she wanted to do and she was quite eager to jump in for herself. To save herself from any awkward conversation to come. Plus, truth or dare was always interesting. "Aw, you're weak," She mocked, decided to use the same words he did as he complained in regards to the people and booming music.
Once they had gotten out of the largest part of the crowd, she had let Charles pass by her, taking the lead up the stairs. Just then, Lauren felt like she could breathe a bit easier. Intoxicated bodies weren't jumping around and screaming or doing anything off the mass craziness that seemed to unfold. The upstairs seemed to be relatively unnoticed and Lauren was quite relieved for that. As much as she loved the party environment, she appreciated a bit of peace in every situation. Hesitantly, she opened one of the doors, immediately giving away their presence. "Hey," She took a second to glance around the room. Charlotte, Louvel, Hyunsik, Anastasia, and Kota had all been there and in that moment, her eyes narrowed on Kota. She was almost going to walk out with a 'forget this' but decided to just try and have a good time. Try. If not, then she was sure she could make up an excuse. Lauren stepped one more step into the room, eyes studying everyone with a friendly glint. "People are saying you guys are playing truth or dare?" She questioned, brow raising slightly. "If so, mind if we jump in on this?" She asked, gesturing to the circle of people. Her body turned to her boyfriend's only for a second before her attention was back on the others.
