(I'll post for the other ship once everyone has said what their character is doing. Lol, talk about starting off with a bang.)
Calico Jack
Calico grinned. "A ballista... ought to be plausible. Maybe throw some rope on the ends of the bolts, we can use them for hunting. Sharks and Ships. In fact those are good names. You draw me up some schematics, The Captain and I can approve and we'll build one on either side of the ship here at the far back. One for Sharks and One for Ships."
Calico liked coming up with stuff like this, and encouraged free thinking in the crew. He couldn't help but thinking how useful a couple of ballista would be now.
"Train the swivels on the sails and the puckels on the masts." He said, relatively quietly, just so the people at the back of the ship with him could hear.
The Stag
The Stag crouched next to a cannon on Portside and slide open the cannon covering marginally, so he could see out. Just as he caught The Ship, three large coverings on the front of the ship shot back into the ship and to the side to reveal three extending chaser cannons. Uh-oh.
"Fire! Fire! Fire!" He shouted to the men by the cannons. He knew Calico, and by extention The Captain had said not to fire first, but those were rather large guns, and they'd have no reason to flash them, other than use.
"Topside, Fire!" He shouted as he poked his head above deck, indicated that it was well past time for the smaller guns to attack. One broadside from that big ship is probably all it needed, so the navigator would need to get and keep us behind it. Those front facing chasers weren't messing around either.
"Me thinks, mistress, you should have little reason for that. And yet to say the truth reason and love keep little company together, nowadays."
"You are a villain, I jest not."
"One touch of nature makes the whole world kin."
"If music be the food of love, play on, Give me excess of it;"
"I do not know why yet I live to say "This things to do," sith I have strength and cause and will and means to do't."
