it is said a long time ago there was a family of half
wolf and half human. centuries ago a village was
raided and slaughtered by these terrible wolf-like
men. people feared for their lives and their families.
nobody was safe anymore. one family was determined
to keep their children safe. the mother found a witch
who knew powerful magic. in order for the spell to work
the mother would have to give her life. however, the
spell went terribly wrong and her children turned into
monsters just like the wolves. in fact they were worse
than the wolves for they couldn't control themselves.
the hunger urges were too much for the children and
they were forced to feed on human blood. over the years
the children learned to handle the urges.

the vampires soon became good friends with the wolves
and became allies. that is until the day the two youngest
of each families went on a walk through the woods together.
the two youngest of the families were actually dating each
other. their relationship was beautiful until that day. they
got into quiet an argument and the wolf ended up biting the
vampire. a werewolf bite can kill a vampire within forty-eight
hours so this action was fairly deadly. crushed by what the wolf
did the young vampire girl ran back to her family. since there
is no cure the girl did die and ever since then the two families
have been mortal enemies.

Morning vines crept open slowly as the curtains of the vast mansion were drawn shut. Stiff hands were at the ends of the ropes. Samandriel slowly made his way across the large library, pushing his fingers into his temples as if to release the pain that we all know was non-existent. His lucid eyes slowly rose and scanned the shelves of the book case, as if looking for something, but the vacancy that lingered told that whatever he was searching for could not be found on a mere bookcase. He tenderly walked his fingers along the spines of the books until finally he stopped. At the rest of his fingers a black and silver registry, filled with the names of every vampire that had ever came and went through the door under his leader ship.

Andriel flipped open the book, tossing through the many pages of history, he made his way to a page in the beginning. The paper was aged with tan already eating away at the once new paper. His eyes scanned the sheet until it came to the name it was in search of. He let it slip between his lips like an aged wine, “Octavius.” The words left a bitter taste at the roof of his mouth. Like many other times before he shut the book and replaced it on the shelf. He moved to the desk where he sank into the armchair. His thoughts became the controlling factor in his mind.

Continuously he had to remind himself that Octavius was real, that he was not just a figment of his imagination. In the beginning, when he had first became turned, Samandriel had a family. Not a big one, but only consisting of two people, Himself and his brother: Octavius. Andriel took in a deep breath. That was a long time ago, before Andriel knew what responsibility was. Octavius was his first turn, as well as his last and he was dead. These were all aspects that Andriel had come to accept. Of course it did not keep him from doing the same routine every few months.

Softly, he pulled himself from the chair and headed towards the rest of the house. It was morning, which meant the others would be mostly here. Night was the only time in which they ran often, however the day did not bother them as much as the story books and movies liked to portray. The sun was more harsh on their skin, more of a sunburn than anything if they stayed out longer. Samandriel went out whenever he felt the need, but some of the others were different.

He made his way into the living area, where he placed himself at the window, tossing his eyes out onto the land before the mansion. His main concern for now was finding a way to overcome a werewolf bite.

Annabel stumbled through the mansions large front doors as day light began to shine down. She then stood for a moment in the entry way marveling at the grandeur of the mansion. It was her first night as well, a vampire and she was still pretty out of it. None the less she managed to find the mansion again, much to her relief. She wasn't one hundred percent sure what sunlight would do her, but based on the movies it wouldn't be pretty. She noticed all the dark curtains were closed which meant that the light could affect her through the glass as well. She added it to her mental 'things I'll need to know as a vampire' checklist. she then contemplated exploring the vast mansion today, but decided against it, instead opting to find a place to lie down for a while.

After not too long a search she found something that resembled a sitting room and collapsed onto a comfortable looking piece of furniture. She thought for sure she'd fall right asleep, but that didn't happen. She wasn't sure if it was a side effect of immortality, or just adrenalin. If her body even produced that anymore. There was no way she'd wrap her head around vampire biology, she dropped that train of thought fast. Instead she tried to remember how she'd even ended up here, it was all sort of a blur. Some blood, some fangs, then waking up at the mansion with a bunch of strangers telling her she couldn't go home. Her best guess was that they hadn't meant to, but she wasn't sure on the details of turning someone into a vampire, maybe they had to want to? And if so, why would they turn her?

Her thoughts were promptly interrupted by the sound of footsteps. She couldn't tell where they were coming from, but they were loud enough to distract her. Her first thought was that the other vampires were coming back in as well, it hadn't exactly been a long time since she'd arrived. She adjusted her self so that she was sitting up on the couch, and waited to see if the owner of the footsteps passed her at all.

As the doors burst open to the mansion Samandriel paused in his thought. He gave a gentle smirk on the side of his face as well as an amused chuckle. Slowly he shook his head, then tipped his head from the window and moved his way from the waiting room and into the sitting room. As he turned the corner and looked down at what new mess his clan had now set before him in order to fix. He cleared his throat, then began to speak. “I see you have already made yourself acquainted with the living arrangements in this part of the forest, however I have to say I have not met the newest member of the clan. That being said I feel I must introduce myself.” Andriel grasped his hands behind his back and made his way around to look face to face with the girl. “I am Samandriel. I am the leader of this clan and before we continue to allow you to prance out in the human’s world we must first help you to control yourself. We do not need a war now do we?”

Samandriel calmly turned to the door, hearing others beginning to arrive. He gave an undertone sigh, then looked back to the girl. “With you we must start by finding out your name. You do have a name now do you not?” He said with a grin.
