someone would have to be deaf and
blind in order to not realize that mr.
wyatt lee parker belonged to the great
house of gryffindor. the kid practically
bleeds all that they stand for. growing
up, wyatt had actually been the ideal
model child. good behavior, good in
school, loads of friends. that was his
biggest downfall, having met some of
the wrong people and making the utter
most idiotic decision of befriending
them. as he got older he got into more
trouble. his grades were still impeccable,
but his shenanigans were landing him
in the hands of the administrators more
often than not. was it so bad to have a
little fun? wyatt had always been in the
midst of greatness, both parents being
purebloods. his father was the star of
their quidditch team and their school
back in his time - and wyatt definitely
is striving to follow in those footsteps.

from day one jasey rae betlyn had
always thought there had been a
big mistake when she was sorted
into hufflepuff. with her blunt and
slightly bitter sarcasm, she surely
thought she was slytherin bound.
apparently not. as time passed on
jasey began to realize why it was
she had been put in hufflepuff. her
instinctive nature was to be kind
and open hearted, but where she
differentiated from others in her
house was that her door of sweet
kindness quickly shut if you were to
get on her bad side. though she
might look nice (and normally she is)
there also comes a point where her
own stubborn and independent
antics lead her to actually being a
vindictive monster when crossed.
she's one to keep an eye out for.

quidditch games were definitely not for maura bateman. on most occasions, she avoided attending them entirely; a. because they were boring and illogical and b. whener a team lost, it seemed that it was her fault. it was as if the players couldn't accept that they lost and went with "oh, it was because saw maura in the stadium!". her appearance at tonight's match was all due to the fact that it was the most talked about game of the week, and she was more than a little curious to see who wins for herself. jinx had quietly settled down in a spot near the back of the stadium, eyes glued to her knees. the ice-cold bleachers were coated with frost that seemed to bit at her skin even with her layers upon layers of warmth. the brunette had gone all out in preparing for the chilly evening and was decked out in blue gloves, a wool hat and over-sized ravenclaw scarf. maybe a little over the top, but she wasn't taking any chances.

"are you really that interested in this, el?" her hazel gaze rested on elle, who was sitting right next to her. her friend's eyes seemed to be fixated on the players that flew above. they hard hardly exchanged a word for the entire match. that was what jinx favored about elle, she didn't need to start a conversation for them to feel comfortable around each other. miserably resting her head on her palms, jinx couldn't help but feel like she was missing the entire point of quidditch. she knew all about it after reading books on the subject in her freetime, yet she wasn't pumped up about the game at all. gryffindor's to her left had their hands cupped to their mouths, screaming at certain players on the field. the slytherins on her right were doing the same, as if trying to drown out their rival house. jinx let out an inaudible groan at their petty antics.

she lifted her eyes back to the players as a sudden roar rang out among the crowd. gryffindor had scored another point, tying the game once more. the entire time had been a struggle to stay in the lead for both teams. sometimes slytherin gained a few points ahead, but gryffindor have had more comebacks than maura could count. her attention was torn away when she noticed a figure approach elle and then silently sit down.
"hey, dakota," she murmured politely, though her posture instinctively stiffened. wherever dakota went, serenity wasn't far behind and jinx wasn't feeling up to dealing with either of them.

there was no better feeling than being smack-dab in the action of one of the most intense quidditch games of the season. sean was nearly bursting with adrenaline, shooting after any bludger without a single hesitation. his team was performing better than they had practiced, which was the main reason they were still neck in neck with slytherin. his breathing was ragged and sweat was dripping off his forehead, but the boy still had the stupidest grin on his face. once he caught sight of a bludger flying directly at wyatt, sean raced forward and slammed the rabid ball directly at simon delane, a chaser who just so happened to be the slytherin captain. he never held much of a liking to the guy, anyway. twirling his bat in his hand, sean glanced back at wyatt with a small smirk on his face. "you're welcome!" he called before diving off towards another bludger near one of their newer chasers. after defending it off, sean finally had a few seconds to catch his breath.

he unconsciously glanced towards the audience to get a look at the turnout for today's match. he knew he would feel the pressure more than usual, but having the stadiums this full was almost unbelievable. of course, it wasn't hard for him to pick out sophie norvell from the throngs of people. he'd recognize her anywhere. there was never a bad time to give his ex's a bit of embarrassing attention, right?
"hey, sophie! sophie norvell!" he raised his hand over his mouth and blew her a kiss, unable to hide the enjoyment in his eyes. he lingered for a moment, unsure if he should see how she reacts or not. it was inevitable that he'd get an earfull from his ex later, but sean didn't want to miss seeing her face turn beet red as multiple students curiously turned her way.

suddenly, the referee's whistle screeched, causing each broomstich to come to a standstill. had sean missed a penalty in the game? he gripped his bat and broom tighter and turned towards the game with a frown. apparently, the ref was calling for a prolonged break. now alert, sean frantically searched for any injured players, performing a head count on his team twice just to make sure. the young man was convinced that slytherin wouldn't have dared to call for a timeout- they were all so invested in the game that there was no need for a break. shouts of confusion and anger simultaneously rose from the crowd and players alike.
"what the hell is this?" sean complained, waving his bat in the air out of annoyance. no more signals came from the referee, who was seemingly in a frantic conversation with a professor.

serenity and henry --- post one.

Postby katniss, » Fri Jul 11, 2014 8:26 am

✯ ✯ ✯ HENRY CABOT
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
a foolish seventeen year-old. he is in his sixth year
and is in the house of
ravenclaw. he is the the ravenclaw
prefect
he has a deep, unfailing infatuation for jinx,
and possibly jenn.
he is currently at the quidditch game
and is feeling content. he said hi to sophie and is in the
stands with
steven.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
henry was usually a lot more intense at quidditch games, but this one he didn't really feel too much energy at. it was a gryffindor versus slytherin game, and he was a ravenclaw. he still came with his friend, steven, to watch the game, but didn't really know what to cheer. he was certainly rooting for gryffindor-- the slytherin team went into this game way too cocky and self-entitled, as usual. henry, being the honest boy that he is, never really liked slytherins. there were a few that he had grown fond of; mainly the twins, annabel and simon. but most of them-- specifically zach and kaiden-- annoyed the ravenclaw boy endlessly.

around him, the hubbub of the quidditch game filled his ears. it was a festive tradition at hogwarts for everyone to attend the quidditch games, and henry made sure he never missed a game. his first two years at hogwarts he was a chaser on the team, but after realizing that quidditch wasn't really his calling, henry decided to focus on his studies more. to make up for the fact he dropped from the team, henry attended every game without fail.

as the crowd roared, henry glanced next to him at his friend, steven. they had come to the game together, but it was definitely obvious that steven was much more into the antics of the game at the moment. they were of different houses-- steven of hufflepuff and henry of ravenclaw-- but they were never sitting in either of the stands. henry just followed steven up and down the stands as the crazy hufflepuff screamed and scuttled around in sheer glee. it seemed to henry that quidditch acted much like a hallucinogen to steven, making him quite delirious.

as slytherin scored a goal, roars exploded from the slytherin section of the stand. annoyed, henry rolled his eyes. suddenly, the crowd shifted to the left, shoving henry right against the person next to him. with an apologetic grin, henry turned to look at who he had slammed against-- sophie norvell, a gryffindor. they had been longtime friends since childhood, when their parents would dress them in matching quidditch gear and dragged them to the Quidditch Cup.
"i'm ever so sorry, sophie. these crowds are horribly unpredictable," he said with a subtle smile. suddenly he heard a scream from the field -- sean, blowing a kiss to his ex, sophie. glancing back over at sophie, henry raised an eyebrow jokingly. "well, how cute," he laughed, waiting for sophie's reaction.

♛ ♛ ♛ SERENITY ADAMS
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
a softspoken and gentle seventeen year-old. she is in her seventh
year at hogwarts and is in the house of
hufflepuff. she is in a slightly
dysfunctional relationship with
simon delane. she doesn't really have
a crush, she just knows she feels odd with
simon. serenity is the keeper
and captain of the hufflepuff quidditch team.
she is currently at the
quidditch game
in the stands with annabel and alyssa. she interacted
with
zander, elle, dakota and jinx. she is feeling a bit down.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
serenity was in a horrible mood, and going to a loud, noisy, sweaty quidditch game was anything but what she wanted to do. she stepped into the stands with her usual shadowy stance, blending into the crowd. she tightened her hufflepuff scarf around her neck and made her way up to an open spot through the screaming fans.

serenity was usually on the field, which was exactly where she liked to be. she loved being in quidditch games, but hated being at them. when the crowd cheered, she liked to know it was for her, and not for other houses. plus, she hated being cramped in the stands; being a screaming fan didn't really fit serenity's soft-spoken, gentle character.

but of course, she wouldn't miss this game for anything. her boyfriend, simon, was playing. he was the center chaser for the slytherin team; one of their star players, and this year's team captain. he always watched her play in her games, unless they were against each other, so serenity always watched him play. it was just another habit of theirs, dating for three years now. serenity glanced over her shoulder at her two friends who were tailing behind-- annabel and alyssa. while they weren't really friends with each other, serenity had planned to go to the game with simon's sister, annabel, and couldn't help but invite her best friend, alyssa. annabel was a slytherin, like her brother, and they were very close friends ever since simon and serenity started dating. alyssa, on the other hand, was serenity's best friend for a while now. they were house-buddies, being both in hufflepuff, and had practically the same schedule, so they saw each a lot around hogwarts.

as serenity whirled back around to see where she was going, she slammed right into jinx. the ill-fortuned ravenclaw was anything but serenity's best friend. they knew each other through dakota and elle, but neither of them liked each other very much. serenity didn't like how jinx was around simon, and jinx apparently just didn't like serenity. blushing, sweet serenity glanced back and forth between jinx, elle and dakota, who had also just arrived at the game.

"um, oh dear, i'm so sorry, i didn't mean to," serenity mumbled apologetically. she really didn't mean to bump into jinx, but just her [or jinx's] luck, she had. the ravenclaw girl probably didn't believe her, since they didn't like each other. averting eye contact, serenity glanced over at her friend, dakota. they called each other best friend, but lately, that didn't seem to be the case. serenity and dakota had been inseparable when they were children, and for most of their time at hogwarts. but the trouble started when serenity went to Hogwarts and was put into hufflepuff, and Dakota, who only came the following year, was put into ravenclaw. dakota, being the bubbly and friendly person that she is, made friends almost instantly-- namely with elle and jinx. serenity wasn't much a go-getter, and much more of a follower, so she had tried for so long to remain best friends with dakota. but their friendship continually failed at staying strong. dakota, whether she meant to or not, would repeatedly forget to invite serenity along with elle and jinx. serenity didn't really know elle and didn't get along with jinx, so neither of them invited the hufflepuff either.

frowning slightly, serenity noticed jinx's posture stiffen.
"um, I didn't realize you guys were coming, we coulda come together," serenity muttered half-heartedly, before smiling and moving past the three of them. with alyssa and annabel hopefully in trail, serenity found a spot near the top of the bleachers that wasn't occupied. as she took the spot, she glanced to her right to notice who was standing next to her-- the unfailingly flirtacious and intelligent zander, also from ravenclaw. the boy never failed to make serenity feel odd whenever he interacted with her-- it was like he was purposefully drawn to girls that were unattainable. serenity nodded her head in greeting to the boy, before turning back to her friends, alyssa and annabel. "do either of you know what the score is? I can't really see the score board properly," she said, squinting.

elle wasn't the sports type. before coming to hogwarts, her father often expressed his disappointed with her for not putting down the books and pencils and for not picking up a ball instead, finding some sort of game to play outside. her mother always, thankfully, defended her though. she's found what she likes to do, ethan. let her be. elle was the spitting image of her mother, or so her distant relatives would tell her in family gatherings, but she honestly didn't see it. personality wise maybe, eyes and hair maybe, but facial structure? body figure? definitely not! her mother was beautiful, a prize her father won with much perserverence and determination. elle herself? mousy and petite, not much to look at. the most she saw her and her mother had in common was that maybe if her mother had been a witch like her, she'd be in house ravenclaw as well. and that made elle quite miserably sad when she'd lay awake at night thinking about this. she wanted to have gotten more from her mother, beauty in particular. but you could not pick your genes and you could not pick your family and there was no spell to make her look as she wanted to look, though its not like she hadn't spent hours in the library searching through books to find one that would. so elle would just leave her hair down, parted in the middle so strands of hair would cover parts of her face, and stand so invisibly next to her best friends, dakota and maura, probably two of the most beautiful and intelligent girls at hogwarts. and just like being related to her mother, elle felt it was an honor to even be associated with people who were so very much admired.

by her not being the playing sports type, she had become more of a watching sports type. watching games like quidditch, she'd imagine herself out there on those brooms maing the winning shot, saving the game. she was a dreamer, quite possibly at the fault of all those books she reads. she never cheered much, just watched. quietly and silently. she understood more that way. she knew cheering and getting pumped up was vital to them game, but it irked her at times to think, how can they be watching the game if their screaming at the top of their lungs? upon hearing her name, elle turned her attention from the game to look at maura sitting next to her. her mouth was formed into a scowl and her eyebrows were raised up, expecting an answer to her question. elle smiled softly.
"well, yeah. aren't you?" of course she knew the answer to her question; maura hated quidditch, and it was written all over her face. the boredom had sunk in long before they had even entered the stadium. "its almost over, i promise. we'll leave soon and then you can torture me with whatever you want to do next. deal?" elle could make even a an insult sound gentle. she had an innocent look about her, eyes that pleaded you consider her as gentle as a child. as a result, she was terrible at insults or challenging people because they never took her seriously.

upon dakota arriving, elle pulled her feet off the floor and hugged her knees to her chest, so dakota could weasel by and take the empty seat next to her, letting them drop back down again when she did. she reached over and gave her friend a hug, breathing in her smell as she pulled away. everyone, elle found, had their own unique scent, like houses did. dakota smelled like peaches, maura smelled like laundry detergent, and elle smelled like freshly cut wood.
"why are you so late, kota? maura is already wanting to leave." maura was always ready to leave a quidditch game, so what time dakota showed up had no affect on that what so ever. however, the sight of serenity adams would have worstened this desire to leave. elle held her breath when she saw the blonde hufflepuff stumble into maura. maura returned her apology with a glare and it honestly hurt elle seeing serenity's face get flustered and her eyes drop. elle was friendly towards the hufflepuff, out of respect that she was dakota's friend, but elle personally didn't like her neither. she talked too much for her taste and after awhile, the fake laughs and smiles towards her just got tiring, so she stayed her respectable distance. maura however wasn't so suttle, and elle envied her for her blunt honesty. "yeah, maybe next time." elle spoke when serenity commented on possibly showing up together. and just like she knew maura was doing in her head right now ( for serenity and quidditch purposes ), elle hoped there wouldn't be a next time.

poppy was starting to wish she'd tied her hair up more securely. sure, gryffindor was once again neck-and-neck, but what use would that be if one of their chasers was blinded, and therefore unable to play. she blew her hair out of her eyes with an exasperated toss of her head, turning her broom so the breeze was in her face and therefore she could see more clearly. glad that there wasn't a bludger heading straight for her face, she shot off at a considerable pace towards a throng of green and red at the centre of the pitch, where most of the chasers were tussling for the quaffle. she almost flinched as the captain screamed somewhere to her right, but he was just trying to get sophie's attention, as usual. gosh, that relationship had unresolved issues. on sean's part, anyway. poor boy. making a mental note to tease him about it after the obviously victorious match, poppy went to dive under the cluster of players, hoping that someone was stupid or smart enough to drop the quaffle so she could grab it. she was almost blinded by her hair again- stupid braid, always getting in the way- and when the whistle screamed she jerked hard on the broom, coming to an ungraceful stop that almost threw her over the front of the brush. ew.

the match came to a standstill, and poppy was almost ready to start a jeer at the slytherins- hah, weaklings, calling for a timeout- when she realized they were about as confused as the gryffindors were. there was a rising muttering coming from the stands, shock mixed with anger. now that she wasn't frantically moving forwards and backwards, poppy freed her hair from its braid and tied it into a more reliable ponytail. she moved around on her broom for a bit, her ears straining for a reason other than the whole 'prolonged break' rubbish, but all she could see was the coach and one of the professors- she recognised them, must have taught her- locked in conversation. heh. weird.

she pushed loose strands of hair behind her ears, clenching tightly to the broom with her knees to stop from falling off, and tilted backwards until she had adrianne and, just a bit behind her, sean in her sights. the two being her favourite players on the team, and her friends, she cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted across the pitch, her loud voice carrying easily over the confused mutterings.
"is it, you know, illegal or whatever to just continue scoring? because i don't think anyone will notice." she was grinning, not thrown in the slightest- and she wasn't, not really. it was a stall in the game, so what? hopefully it would throw the slytherins off their game enough that the gryffindors could finally get the lead. that would make up for being stuck, still, in the cold for no reason.

to be fair, steven made up on all the exercise he didn't get by, y'know, playing quidditch, by jogging up and down the stands in his frantic effort to track the quaffle and the seeker. a fervent gryffindor supporter when his own house wasn't playing, he was wearing a red zip-up hoodie over his uniform. everytime he scuttled to the slytherin side of the stands he got a few nasty glares, so he was starting to drag henry with him. his weird way of talking would baffle everyone until steven was safely away, chasing the quaffle up the side of the pitch again. he kept a hurried commentary over his shoulder to henry the entire time in case the boy cared. he didn't care, steven could see that, but it wasn't like he was going to let on. steven loved quidditch. he had a careful track of the matches lined up for the season on his wall, and this was by far the most exciting. there was a slight lull in the actions on the field, so he headed back up to his friend.

steven rubbed his hands together to warm them up from the cold, then hugged himself so his fingers were snugly nestled underneath his arms. there was a delighted, slightly delirious grin on his face as he nodded at sophie, a girl he wasn't particularly close to but seemed amicable enough. he nudged henry with his elbow, and went to nudge sophie but thought better of it- he didn't know the girl and didn't want to come across too full on; he'd been known to do that before.
"great match, huh? so so good, you can feel-" there was a deafening roar from the slytherin side, and he joined a few select gryffindors in their boos. that would show them. he grinned as he turned back to the two others, seeming to have completely forgotten what he was going to say, lost in the excitement of it all. the happy teenager pushed his untidy hair out of his eyes as he turned to face the pitch again. he blinked- the players were completely still, looking confused. with a mumbled apology steven once again left his companion to go further down the stands, wanting to get a closer look. he joined in the confused mutterings as he did a quick count to make sure none of the players had, like, died while he was chatting. he looked around at the other gryffindors on the stands, hoping they might know what was going on. he jogged back up to henry and sophie, tilting his head to the side.

"did you see what happened? i was facing away... like, this doesn't normally just happen, you know, they don't stop matches for no reason." his tone was condescending, though the boy didn't notice it. he had, after all, been to every single match since he'd been barred from his house's team in third year, and every one before that too. he felt like he had superior knowledge.

            xxxxx''SOPHIE NORVELL''xxxxx
( mood )xembarrassed / fumingxxx( location )xstadium, gryffindor standsxxx( tagged )xsean, henry, steven

xxxxxxx had the deepened burning on her cheeks not been enough as evidence, the oval drop of her lips gave way to an amusing showing of shock and embarrassment. the young gryffindor made the decision to attend the winded quidditch game due to a lackluster absence in her own social schedule, knowing that most of her friends would be gathered to witness any tournament against their rivaled house. however truth to be told, she was now mentally questioning the aftereffects of her poorly-made choices in the name of an intolerable ex-boyfriend - one who seemingly made it his life's goal to pull and prod at her disheveled mentality. obviously she'd known that the gryffindor captain would make an appropriate showing during the play of his favorite sport, but she'd sooner assume that she would merely be subjected nothing more than a fleeting glance - had he even cared to take notice of the girl in an otherwise thundering crowd in the first place.

xxxxxxx the hope had been short lived, an utter loss to the mortifying reality. to have the voice that once rang so vividly in her ear calling her name, she'd immediately picked out her former boyfriend from the field, only to witness a blown kiss directly her way. it'd been romantic in a sense, under differing circumstances, but frankly, the teen was absolutely horrified. the stares that accompany after added to the raging blush creeping ruby red along her neck and hearing the faint aw's further heightened her discomfort, causing sophie a tightened clenching of her teeth as she stifled a glare at the boy in question.

xxxxxxx she made a precarious effort to ignore the infuriating cooing afterwards, lowering her head slightly into the wool of her scarf, as if in the means to shield herself. however a single comment hadn't gone by the annoyed brunette, causing her to whip her head toward the direction of the perpetrator in a swift motion. "not cute. it's totally not cute," she chocked out in a near growl before actually focusing on the lad standing beside her. henry, one of her closer schoolmates, and one of his friends had stumbled into her from the shifting spectators just a short time beforehand. their presence had been momentary forgotten in her brief lapse in attention. "i... s-sorry..." she apologized softly, mumbling sulkily as her blush returning at full force from having not meant to actually snap at her childhood friend in such a manner. sophie ducked her head and adverted her eyes elsewhere, suddenly wishing to be able to curl up in the sanctuary of her dormroom bed for the time span of an eternity.

xxxxxxx a whistle blew a screeching clamor and the sudden forced-timeout in the game had been quick to cause a confused uproar amongst the students. having witnessed a plentiful amount of quidditch matches within her hogwarts expenses, sophie couldn't smother her glowering feeling of confusion, having been unable to cognitively muster a reasonable explanation as to justify for the abrupt break. "that's the thing: nothing happened in game that calls for a timeout," said the brunette, answering for steven's question, with the smallest muddled tilt of her head as she surveyed the field.
