Esmeralda caught Bryan's smile and felt the warm feeling of hope spread through her body,
from her toes to her fingertips. She had never really known hope. Only when she was a child.
But something about Bryan's smile told her it was going to be alright. Focusing back on Melodie,
she dipped her head softly and looked at the other servants. It was almost time to go.

He sat back in his chair, the light peeking through cracks in the wall, the dust particles floating through the beams like feathers dropping from a bird up above. Quietly, he stood from his stool, and moved it from where it was, making sure it was off the dusty rug. He lifted up a corner. The rug was strangely heavy, but it was very thick and old. After moving it away a small hatch revealed itself. Leonardo grabbed the rusted iron handle and lifted it up, a suspicious creaking coming from the hinges. Under the hatch was a flight of stairs that led to some sort of bunker--that was exactly what it was. He headed down the stairs into a large room. The walls were lined with axes and swords. The city had many hidden tunnels that led here, and they were only known to the rebels, thankfully.
In the room, there was several anvils, a firepit, and many racks for finished projects. There were two doors on the east and south walls, which Leonardo went and unlocked. He was surprised to see a customer already, but, she was only there to pick up an order.
They didn't say a word to each other--Leonardo grabbed a silver shortsword from one of the shelves and handed it to her, and she hid it into a case meant for a painting or map. In return, she handed him five shillings. At a mutual agreement they nodded and she left from the east door. This was how it always was. Somebody would pick up their order, and they never said a thing. Leonardo himself couldn't remember how his voice sounded.

I thought of names that I could use while down in the city, trying to remember names of noble people who have visited the kingdom. Arthur? I thought, no, probably sounds too brave...Rowan? Yeah, I like that. Rowan...

I silently wondered where Lee was. We had been pals for a couple of years, exchanging tips on blacksmithing and small talk, or sometimes, he would come over for a drink and we would play games with dice. He's a nice guy, maybe a little arrogant at times, sure, but he has good intentions, not to mention the secret bunker he has which is an extreme advantage for us rebels.

{I thought it might be helpful to do a quick recap of my last couple posts (rather than repost them) and specify who was mentioned/interacted with, to make it easier to reply and more helpful than just bumping. c: So:
Bryan:

♚Reached to place a hand on Alexander's (.Sherlock.) shoulder (which may or may not have successfully ended up in Alexander's shoulder, I tried to leave that open to his reaction, such as him pulling away or being just oil of reach if .Sherlock. would prefer.) and told his siblings to be careful.
♚Is aware of the tension between Merideth (waterstar2002) and Melodie (One Day More), smiles at Esmeralda (vocal), and announced his departure, asking Damien (One Day More) if he was ready to leave.

Avril:

☀Is present at the meeting, but hasn't said anything.
☀ Asks what to do in the case that a spy is, in fact, discovered.

That leaves .Sherlock. the opportunity to make a post, as well as any other royal child in reply to Bryan's concern over their safety (vocal already replied to the smile, but I don't have anything to post in response yet. ), as well as any rebel who wants to answer Avril's question. Hopefully this helps a bit. c:

Ciertsai was standing by Avril, and heard her question. He turned his head to her, his eyes grave. "They would be dealt with. Severely." His hand unconsciously rested on a knife at his belt, making his meaning clear. One spy could ruin everything. If Cassandra knew their plans, they would all die, leaving no one to fight her evil. That couldn't happen.

"Well, if everything's been decided, then I should get going," Bryan informed the others. He thought a moment about a name. Chase, he decided. He couldn't help but take a quick glance at them all again, noticing the tension between Melodie and Meredith. His spirits fell the smallest bit. He missed when the two would get along. When their father was alive. When everything seemed to be perfect. Happy memories flashed through his mind a moment. He shook of the nostalgia and turned to Damien, adjusting the sword hidden beneath his cloak and running a hand through his hair one more time, for good measure. "Are you ready?" he asked. He caught a glimpse of Esmeralda standing next to Damien. He knew little of the girl's past, but did know that she was despised by his mother and sister. He let his smile remain. Hopefully that would ease her apparent nerves, at least in the slightest, and Melodie would treat her well. Bryan's attention then returned swiftly to Damien.

Hearing Ciertsai speak, Avril turned to him, noticing his hand on his knife. Between that and his grave words, the rebel's meaning was clear, and Avril wasn't really surprised by the answer to her question. They were playing a tricky game, one that could quickly cost lives - not rebel lives, if they could help it. With a silent nod, Avril turned back to the leaders of the rebellion. Silently, she wondered where Leonardo was. There was always the possiblity that he was busy, but they were dealing with information that would be important for him to hear as well. If the meeting convened without his appearance, the girl resolved that she would go relay the information to him. With, of course, permission from her superiors.
