LEXEI THE ED LYING TO UASAR ANESSA

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

Alexei let out a great groan of annoyance at even the thought of Quasar... He though-spoke to Vanessa "I'd rather burn the irritating dragon than follow him..." His feelings towards the Wildfire were never hidden. He showed his feeling proudly. And on this occasion, he decided he would pick on the Wildfire.... He had stopped mid dive to see the signal and slowly fluttered his great wings in the breeze. He was purposefully going slow, making sure that his feelings about this meeting were anything but happy.

After what seemed like about two hours of rather slow flying, Alexei finally allowed himself to pick up some speed and meet up with the rest of the group. When he landed, he made it known how irritated he was by giving out a massive roar and refusing to give any sort of respect towards Quasar. Alexei really didn't care what the other dragons had to say... Or rather think to their riders... Except maybe what the Striker had to think... But that was another matter.... He knelt down his great neck, allowing Vanessa to slide off and join the rest of the riders while Alexei sulked at the back of the group like an angry child.... Conveniently not too far away from the Swordfang

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

SWALD THE TRATEGIST LYING TO UASAR DRINA

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

Oswald laughed as Idrina flicked her snake-like tail up at him. But when he heard Quasar's cry, he stopped, tensed his body, and gripped onto his dragon's neck as tight as he could... Ready for any type of dive bomb fighting they had to do... Though luckily, his fears were calmed by the way he felt his dragon relax and turn steadily. She would never allow anyone to try to harm him... And he knew that. When he heard Idrina's voice in his mind suggesting action, his heart lifted and felt like a fluttering butterfly.... He was actually surprised that he even felt like that... He was ready, he had always been ready for the day they left this place.. And now was the day... He could feel it. Once they had finally reached Quasar and the others, he slid off Idrina's smooth, snake-like scales and settled into the nook between her stubby front leg and chest.

And once the Regal Red landed and sauntered over to a nearby set of trees to lay down... Oswald couldn't help but thought-speak to Idrina, "Look who decided to spend time with you after all.... Ahaha"

He then smiled up at his dragon with an extremely goofy look.

【 NOVA 】
.......... l'oiseau de feu
Nova preened her feathers as her rider climbed onto her back, then spread her wings. Ready to fly? Without waiting for Esperanza's reply - he was always ready - she lifted into the air, the wind ruffling her feathers as she headed towards the farmhouse. Spotting everybody clustered by a shed, she set down on the grass beside Katido. Noticing that she was close to him, she started, then tried to make herself look as invisible as possible, embarrassed; she'd had a crush on the Ala Rapida for a long time now. He was so funny, goofy, and laid back, he managed to make even the darkest moments seem fun. She loved being around him, but still had trouble talking to the other dragon; every time she did, she was worried that he would read it in her expression, how she felt about him.

Shaking her head to clear it, she focused her attention on Quasar, lowering herself to the ground to let Esperanza off her back as she did so. Part of her felt a thrill of excitement; this could be their chance to see the world and start their quest, but at the same time her nightmare still lingered in the back of her mind, making her terribly uncertain and fearful about the whole venture.

(( sorry DX ))

Quasar blinked up at the sky as the last two dragon-rider pairs descended, flicking his arrow-tipped tail. He narrowed his eyes only very slightly at Alexei's insolent roar; the Red had tried to undermine him since day one. Apparently Quasar's lack of "royal blood" made him unsuited to his role, or something. However, one of Alexei's frequent complaints was that Quasar wasn't serious enough about the whole thing, which, Quasar had to admit, was probably true; Hunter certainly said so all the time. Usually, Quasar was oblivious enough to ignore Alexei's lack of respect towards him, but it was pretty difficult to ignore the loud sound of his bellowing roar and all of the implications it carried with it.

Quasar smiled at Nova, however, as she landed; he tended not to take as much notice of the little Oiseau, but he found her pleasant enough, if a little shy. Quasar, being slightly socially inept, didn't notice the way she quailed next to Katido, and wouldn't have thought much of it if he had. He flapped his wings a bit to lift himself on top of the shed, his gaze sweeping the group of dragons that he'd spent his life with, his eyes glittering like light blue sapphires. He glanced at his rider. They're all here, he thought-spoke to her. You should tell the humans what's going on; I'll tell the dragons.

He puffed out a bit of smoke, then spoke to the dragons: "We're leaving. Finally. We're leaving on the quest." Excitement tingled through him, even though he wasn't sure which way they would be going, or what they would encounter along the way. He assumed that a good place to start was to locate Markus's army, find out where they were camped, find out where Markus was, then hatch a plan - all without getting caught.

Alex hung by Katido; a rustle of air caught her attention briefly, then she looked back at Hunter and Quasar when she noticed that it was just Nova and Esperanza landing, but not before greeting them cheerfully. "Hi guys!" She leaned against Katido's shoulder and waited for Hunter to elaborate what was going on. Quasar already seemed to be explaining things to the dragons, but the two species wouldn't be able to understand each other's speech without the thought-speak bonds to span the gap. Therefore, Alex and the other humans would have to wait for an explanation from Hunter as to what was going on, though Alex was almost positive now that she knew exactly what it was. And Alex was usually very right about the things she was sure about.

Alex looked across at the group, ranged out before them; there were Idrina and Oswald, the quiet strategist of the group. Oswald was an interesting character, in her opinion; he was smart, she knew, but in a different way than she was. He was more tactical, more of the planning type than the sciencey, pure intellect sort of smarts. His dragon, Idrina, always seemed to have a look in her eye, and Alex knew from Katido that some of the other dragons didn't trust her, though Katido himself had no problem with Idrina. Then there was Vanessa and Alexei, the Red; Vanessa was amusing, but Alex personally found Katido far funnier than she, only because his jokes were always harmless fun, high comedy instead of low, usually involving a bit of wit rather than a practical joke as were Vanessa's forte. Alex knew that Katido wasn't fond of the Red and his adherence to strict codes. Esperanza, of course, and his sweet little dragon, were both charming as could be; then there was Jackie Axis and Binesi. She knew that Katido had no quarrel with the dragon, but for some reason - a reason which Alex found fairly obvious - Jackie bothered her a bit.

Idrina
The swordfang
Female
Idrina scowled down at Oswald, before snarling at Alexeis roar. She spun on him, fins spread on the sides of her head. Enough. You are not the leader, and for good reason. You think your blood sets you apart? We are all likely the last of our species. You are acting like a spoiled human child. I would never follow such a dragon as you. Proud? You're a joke" She hissed, turning and stalking towards Quasar. She might have found the red attractive, but his attitude left much to be desired. She stopped at quasars announcement, wings spreading slightly in shock.

Hunter
The leader
Female
Hunter glared at Alexis roar, making a note to talk to Vanessa about it. She sent him a wave of gratitude at his offer to speak to the dragons. She stepped forward, though she was a bit thrown off when Idrina turned on the Red. She blinked, and refocused in the humans. "Quasar and I have talked, and we've come to a decision. It's time to stop waiting for the fight to come to us. We've posted, and we need to start fighting. We're going. Start packing" She said, head held high as she waited for their reactions.

Antonio's eyebrows practically disappeared into his hairline. The shock left him speechless for a couple of beats. He had suspected it would be this, so he had no real reason to be as surprised as he was, but the forthright way Hunter had said it, with so little explanation, that was... Well. "What's changed?" he asked tentatively, knowing that he was possibly rocking the boat here. He was in no hurry to fulfill his destiny, especially when they lacked a plan. Yet, this speaking out went against his basic nature to placate and compromise. If it came to it, he knew he would back down right away and let the others decide, but that didn't mean he couldn't let his worries be known. "Do we know where we're going, what we're doing, hell, who we're fighting?" If defeating Markus simply entailed marching up to his front door, knocking a couple of times and then running a knife through his chest when he answered, he had no doubts that it would have been done years ago. "Speaking of which, how can we take the fight to someone when hardly any of us know how to fight at all?" Despite his words, he was careful to make his tone as least confrontational and challenging as possible, asking the queries delicately, like someone attempting to glean new information from an expect. He had deep respect for Hunter after all, and was maybe a little bit afraid of her and Quasar, despite Fela's assurances that the lead dragon was in fact very kind and not at all likely to eat him. She was biased anyway.

SWALD THE TRATEGIST veryone DRINA

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

Oswald's jaw dropped as he watched Idrina flare her fins and snap her jaws aggressively (most likely yelling) at the Regal Red. He had never seen his dragon react like that before... Yes she always had an air of irritation and adoration around the Red... But never before had she snapped like that. Oswald jumped up and hurried after Idrina as she stalked away from the other dragon and closer to the group. This was odd for the pair of them to move closer to the group... So it obviously showed that maybe Idrina really didn't have a crush anymore... But he could see her occasionally glance in the direction of the red with an air of love... But of course Oswald was the only one who noticed the glances and the way she held herself when she spoke to or of the Red. So he couldn't help but to smirk.

At the sound of Leaving... Oswald snapped his head in the direction of Hunter and stood, clapping vigorously. But then he realized what he was doing and immediately sat back down as a chorus of laughs came from every person... And dragon, in the group.

"Did you hear that?! We're leaving!" Oswald though-spoke to Idrina.

esperanza smiled in response as she lifted up in the air and flew, without much energy but still thrilling as she settled to the ground and huddled closer to the earth, allowing him to get off as he did so. he slid of her back, running a hand down her shoulder as a reassuring pat. he walked forward and stopped about several feet from the others, shifting his weight from foot to foot anxiously. he turned to look around, seeing as binesi and jackie had also landed. he let out a rattled sigh and thought of their expedition to be done. truthfully he understood he was one to be the least armed, in terms of self-protection. he wasn't skilled in any means, so it wasn't like he would be the last to wind up injured. it wasn't that he didn't want to be there; he just knew if one of them were to die he would probably end up as the injured. but, he looked forward to it. being the optimist, shouldnt he always?

he snorted as she thought-spoke an inquiry to him, and he didn't know how to answer it. something about our little quest-thing, im guessing. he suddenly dropped lower to the ground, sighing in a slight annoyance as his wing-beats got lighter, so they could land. seeing the l'oiseau, who he had a distant liking towards he landed far away from the others, letting jackie walk ahead for him; he didn't care for being near the others anyways. distantly he did like some of them. but none of them enjoyed his presence besides as a partner in war. he wasn't anything but a weapon. he huffed a quiet growl, folding his massive wings near his chest and narrowing his pupils to black slivers so he could see the others in the light. watching the others act and he stood quietly. if he wasn't such a big dragon perhaps he would've seemed invisible, if not for his own size.

ooc ;; really short, i know. sorry for not getting my reply in, in time.

Fela's eyes opened wide, like two huge amber lamps, and the spikes along the back of her neck rose up in surprise. Ohmy we're--leaving?! She was so shocked she didn't even notice Idrina and Lex's brief interaction, which normally would have grabbed her full attention. Her first impression was pure exhilaration, and she beamed, heart rate immediately doubling. They were finally leaving-- after all this time, just out of the blue, Quasar and Hunter had decided they were finally, finally ready to go! All around the clearing, she heard the other dragons make their various sounds of excitement. Then Antonio's words caught through her elated daze, and she pulled herself back, harnessing her voice of reason once again.

She was actually rather surprised that it was her Antonio that was speaking out first. After the chorus of laughs that had come from everybody, the more serious questions quieted them down. Her rider, as she well knew, was not the type to be the first to be asking questions; he rather tended to observe others for a while before adding his own opinion, always the one to avoid conflict. Sometimes this worried her a little-- of course she would understand the need for a peacemaker more than anyone else, but at the same time she was anxious that Antonio felt the same, or even more, of the pressure that she often felt as one of the only members of the group to have an interest in keeping tempers low.

Antonio asked his questions delicately, politely, and Fela was actually surprised to feel a wave of pride for her rider-- perhaps a little unfairly, but this was mostly based off her dislike of the "charge in and whack em over the head with a chunky wooden bat" personality types. She drew her head up slightly in a silent second to the questions and transmitted a vague feeling of approval in Antonio's direction. She knew that his opinion on the quest was mixed and generally a little negative, and she didn't want him to be scared. There was going to be fear, but it would be better if they all started out in a stable way--neither wildly excited nor blatantly terrified.

KATIDO

the ala rapida
tags :: alex, everyone

Katido flared his ruff in astonishment; he'd been expecting some talk of their mission, but not this open, full-on affirmation that, yes, they were finally heading off into the great unknown. His astonishment faded quickly, to be replaced by sudden excitement. Yes! Finally! he thought-spoke to Alex, shifting his feet around as if suddenly anxious to leave.

He tipped his head to one side at Antonio's questions; he'd been wondering the same things himself, of course, but had always been assuming that they would work it out on the fly, so to speak. Alexei's landing, and his great, billowing roar, made Katido flatten his fin-like ruff back to the sides of his neck again and narrow his eyes in momentary anger. The insolent dragon had never had any respect for Quasar, that was for sure, and while Katido could often see the reasoning behind this sentiment, he also knew that he would sooner follow Quasar into battle than that self-aggrandizing dragon. Katido noticed a lot more insolence from Alexei than his aloof, socially incapable friend did; Quasar often didn't catch the subtle angry looks or disobedience. But there was no way the Wildfire could miss this act of defiance, even though he seemed to hide it very well.

VANESSA

the prankster
tags :: alexei, everyone

Vanessa hung on to Alexei's neck, enjoying the short flight over to the farmhouse; well, it should've been a short flight. After Alexei's annoyed response, he'd been flying purposefully slowly, probably to send a message that he should be calling the shots around here, or something. The great red dragon began to descend towards the group, and, upon landing, he let loose a loud roar of irritation; Vanessa hung her head. Alexei was always so insistent upon making a scene. She assumed he did look pretty intimidating, with his regal head held high in the air, but he was also being an insolent idiot, and Vanessa resisted the urge to smack the side of his neck - only because she knew her hand would be ineffective against the dragon's scales.

Seriously, Lex? You're seriously going to do this now? When her dragon bent his neck, Vanessa jumped off, feeling her face burning with a little embarrassment. She held out her hands slightly to the other riders and dragons, as if to say silently, I can't stop him. She ignored her dragon as he stomped off to sulk at the back of the group, then listened closely to Hunter.

"YES!" she shouted when Hunter finally announced the purpose of the meeting: they were leaving! She would be able to get out into the world, and maybe, just maybe, Alexei could find a way out there to deflate his head a little. At any rate, they wouldn't be stuck around this farmhouse anymore. Vanessa loved Yorkshire, with all of its dales and forests and greenery, but she had been here her whole life and was itching to leave.
