over a month ago, something happened that we will never forget.

the 'why' of it doesn't matter much anymore.
no warning.
no explanation.
suddenly, everyone over eighteen was just... gone.

some kids have cracked.
some kids have changed.

some of us had tried to keep it all from falling apart.
make sure the good kids survived; protect everyone from the
kids who just... you know, did bad things. evil things.

some kids even tried to play hero. the hero thing? it didn't
always work out.

the old world with parents, teachers, cops; that's gone now,
and in this new world, all that matters is surviving.
so that's we do. what i do. and that's what we'll keep doing.
survive.

a teenager's life has always been hard.
It's about ten times harder when there's no adults. no rules.
just one town; worther beach, florida.
over a month ago, they were all in class one day -those who went to class, anyway-
and suddenly the teachers, the classroom assistants, even those in the senior classes
who were alreadly over eighteen.
Gone. Poof. Nada.
They had disappeared before our eyes.

That's easily solved, right? You just leave town, go to the next city, tell everyone what happened.
That... doesn't exactly work either. There's a barrier surrounding the entire town- not even a barrier,
a dome. No way in, no way out. Some kids just lay low, waiting for everything to blow over.
Of course, other kids want to rush in and take charge. There's a power struggle- good against bad,
rich kids against poor kids.

Then, about a week or a few days after the dome appeared ... some kids started developing strange...
let's call them mutations. Others might call them powers; superpowers even. Do they use these powers
for good or for bad? It all sounds like a terrible superhero movie, doesn't it?
Too bad it's their life now.

first things first, if you haven't read nick and tess' rules, go and read them now.
they apply in this roleplay like they do to any other ones.

this is a semi-literate rp. that means i expect at least one paragraph with ten+ lines
but more is always welcome. i'd appreciate proper grammar and spelling too.

pm (private message) me if you want to reserve characters (just to keep the thread neat).
reservations last for twenty-four hours, and i will message you when you have an hour left.
your form won't be provided for you, but they don't have to be a novel. even a few pointers
on their personality and looks are okay, but try to make your form as pretty as possible.

when we're on the subject of characters, make sure yours aren't perfect in every way.
they're normal everyday teenagers put into an impossible situation, their lives wouldn't be going perfect,
and they sure won't be on here. and, in this dome of sorts, we need some children or at least 10-13 year olds.
It isn't all teenagers trapped here. and everybody isn't all american. we should have different nationalities on here.

i also won't accept power-playing or god-modding unless you have permission.
if you are unsure of minor power-playing and don't know if it is too much, shoot me a quick message.
note that each character may only have one power. if it is too much, me or my co-owner will ask
you to change it. if you are unsure if it is too much, again, shoot me a message.

i don't expect you to be on 24/7, but try to reply at least a few times a week. if you want to leave
the roleplay for any reason, just pm me and i'll open your character's spot again. i won't judge you
if you have to leave, i know we all get a little busy sometimes.

if your characters get too far into anything romantically fade to black or just skip it altogether.
don't take it to pm, the moderators don't want that and i don't want the rp being locked, okay?
no swearing. this includes starring out. we've had too many members swearing and the mods
having to edit it out. and don't make it too gory if any fights happen, either. try to keep the
whole rp around a 12A or a PG-13 if possible.

altogether, this is a pretty relaxed rp, so if anything is bothering you feel free to

This town is tiny, and split into two halves. When it comes to territory, anyway.
You have the normal kids, the townies, who live on the west side. The east side belongs to the slightly richer,
more upperclass kids who come from the boarding school 'up the hill' called Coates Academy.
The school is basically for the kids that have a little bit of problems or their parents just didn't want them or
thought they were crazy. These kids quickly got bored of the school and came to town, which is where they stay now.
We're going to call these two different groups the 'townies' and the 'students'.
These students are more inclined towards violence than the townies would be, but the townies can stand up for
themselves if the need arises.


All of the kids here call this miserable place the FAYZ. It stands for Fallout Alley Youth Zone since
there was a radiation spill not long ago.

Within a little over a month's time in the dome, the students came to town, attempting to take control.
their plan did not work and an interference came that involved a death of a townie that defied drew henderson,
the student leader. the students left for four weeks or so, and then they struck again. first, drew henderson
took down the large bridge on one side of town -he did this with his four bar telekinetic power- and so that was
the first move. the second was blowing the huge water towers in town, flooding it. then the war happened.
adam darko, the townie leader, and drew henderson, both came at each other, battling hard. before the war,
the henchman of drew henderson, named marsden mccotty, killed the townie deputy by help of a townie named
karsten lewenhart (this is yet to be revealed). now, the townies and students both are trying to recover.
the townies are trying to clean up town, though, it is hard still because they are not able to get across easily with all the damage.

note that the only four bars (the strongest powers ever) are the leaders; adam darko and drew henderson.

Mars is a complicated character to understand. Although he’s intricate, he’s still a human and he recognizes that in his strong moments.
Jess Marsden McCotty, known to most as Mars, isn't particularly the best candidate for a happy childhood. Born into Glasgow, Scotland to an Australian mother and Scottish father, he lived the first few years of his life in a small house, which you would only call a hut, by the sea. His father, a drunk, constantly beat them, and when his younger brother, Mattie, came along, his mother abandoned them. Long days they served and worked for their father, until one day Mattie was killed, the only person Mars actually loved.

After it happened, Mars was sent away to a mental institution after a supposed accident that involved his father lying dead on the floor. For three years, Mars lived in the institution, until finally released. Mars has trust issues. He was diagnosed with sadism while at the "prison." He isn't keen of authority, and definitely won't stand under it. Growing up guarded against others, he doesn't show much emotion, or have an actual feel for what others are going through.

Now, back to the sadism? Yes, he slightly enjoys others hurting, but he isn’t as impulsive as a true psychopath, as he is refined and takes action only when he sees true opportunity.
Now to the good traits? He does somewhat care about people who have been hurt in the past, as he was one of those victims. Though that doesn’t mean he’s goody-goody. He will do whatever it takes to get revenge for things that he blames on other people. He is occasionally in a “good mood,” as he enjoys amusing himself. But he can become serious and hateful. He tests faith of others and doesn’t shared his feelings.

Henry Wesley Mullintz—most commonly known to others as Wes—was born on March 5th, in Boulder, Colorado to a middle class family. Always having been the quiet underdog to his model-perfect older brother, Wes grew up a life with an addiction to sweets and a strong interest in self-occupying activities, such as playing his Gibson electric guitar or studying sports cars. Everybody believes he is reclusive—due to his self-consciousness pushed on by self-image and rude comments by fellow neighbor kids—which nudges his parents to criticize his habits and throw him out into the world by himself.

Wesley is actually a very sweet boy with a low self-esteem and abandonment issues. After being dumped by his parents at Coates Academy due to his “slowness and lack of interest in anything,” he was later released due to the dome. Sadly, even if the dome hadn’t ever existed and everybody disappeared, his parents are still located back in Colorado. At Coates everybody knows him as “Davy Hogan.” Even the teachers call him that. Yes, after the obese kid in Stephen King’s Stand By Me.

It was three months before the dome that Wesley discovered his ability to seemingly disappear to the world. Not exactly invisibility either: rather, become in a state which he doesn’t actually exist. You cannot hear him. You cannot see or sense him. He just fades into a blurry-like world in which allows him to watch everything but not intervene unless he wants to come out into the open. In this “state of mind,” as he calls it, Wes is in a seemingly non-gravitated state, to where he can almost “float.” This power only kicks in when he feels unwanted, afraid, or on very rare occasions: when he forces it upon himself.
