- Johan isn't the kind of guy who ventures out into the unknown and leads the way but is, instead, the one who follows the leader and will strengthen and build upon the discovered. Johan isn't very fond of change and prefers to live in a familiar and routine comfort life but it is his sister who forces him to experience newer things because without her, he would most likely be a recluse. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of persuading before Julianne can ever get him to tag along with her and it is this amazing stubbornness that can cause him to butt heads and conflict with other strong character types. For the most part, however, Johan is a fairly laidback. He tries his best not to get jealous or possessive and doesn't enjoy getting his emotions twisted into making decisions about what's the right thing to do and what's the hardest thing to do.
If there was a living and breathing manifestation of the word 'gentleman', Johan would be it. He's incredibly gracious and polite to the point where it almost seems old-fashioned. He'll hold the door open for everyone, he'll ask permission before doing certain things, and he always uses his manners. He often uses words that don't seem to be from the same time period and his sister makes it a regular thing to make fun of him for. Because of his incredibly respectful attitude, he is often seen as very stiff and boring and occasionally irritates those around with him with his constant proper persona. But his sense of humor tends to push the idea of him being 'stiff' out of people's minds.
Another important trait that Johan possesses is his honesty and the fact he practically worries over everything - especially his sister. He speaks his mind and prefers not to hold things back. What Johan says is what Johan means, he's not very fond of mind games. He likes straightforwardness and expects it in return. He's known for saying the painful truth, but on the other hand, most people know they can trust what he says because what he says is always real.
