Harry's declaration that their hug was great caused Atlas to chuckle as well. He glanced down at his phone after scolding the two of them, seeing Shea's text. He smirked and ran a hand through his hair. Although a bit twitchy and pushy, it was--contrary to popular belief--for him to have a crush and he had a major one on his blonde best friend. Honestly, he couldn't wait for her to arrive. Naturally, right at that moment he managed to glance up and catch Carrie's rude, eyebrow-lifted gaze. "Thanks for the daggers," he sneered in his mind, his smile dropping from his face. "I don't know Atlas. But then again, I don't really care do I?" she replied to his question and it took every bit of his will not to drop his jaw.
Alas, he clenched it and did not allow himself to answer. He physically felt pain from sustaining, but knew that his weekend would just be awful if he wasn't nice to her... even if she deserved his sass. Lucky for her, he heard the familiar purr of Shea's car's engine and his head turned to the side fast enough to move his hair. His friend stepped out of her car from where she parked it on the curb and strolled up to them. His rare smile returned as she turned to him and he hugged her tightly, murmuring "Thank you my sweet angel for saving me from Carrie," in her ear. He chuckled as he let her go and listened as she asked them where Adrian and Wren were. As she asked if they were seriously not there yet he rolled his eyes as if agreeing with her and declared "Ugh, I know. They're taking forever. Harry's voice surprised him and he jumped, looking over to him to hear the boy compliment Shea. Immediately he tensed and felt incredibly uncomfortable, hoping with all of his heart that Harry was just being Harry and wasn't being Harry-that-wanted-Shea. He relaxed a little when Harry also passed the compliment over to Carrie, even though he didn't particularly agree. After all, what was so impressive about her relaxed, boring outfit? He snorted silently, able to disguise it as a laugh when Harry turned to him and told him he didn't look beautiful. "Thanks, hun," he muttered with a small smile. His mood had improved greatly since Shea's arrival.
He took that moment to glance down at his phone. A rather flirtatious text from Wren popped up on his phone screen and he genuinely laughed, holding it out for the others to see. Wren should be here soon," he murmured, replying with "great, bae, can't wait to see you <3" and sliding his phone into his pocket. Then, of course, was the exact moment that he heard Wren's truck door slam. He perked up, peering around the SUV to see his friend.
"Hey, babe, I'm right here. Just decided to, you know, arrive in style," Wren said while he walked up and Atlas grinned goofily back at him.
"Hey," Atlas replied simply, smirking heavily the moment Wren wrapped Atlas in a hug. Wren's declaration of love caused Atlas's eyes to widen in surprise. He totally wasn't expected that at all. Wren was constantly shocking Atlas with his random quips and it was a huge part of the reason they were friends;;Wren wasn't predictable unlike most people. Wren pulled back and winked at Atlas, who pretended to shiver and swoon. "Oh, Wren," he muttered back and returned the wink with his mouth opened in a very sassy fashion.
They all took their spots around the circle, then, and Atlas cracked his knuckles nervously. "Well, congrats guys. You were all on time... I guess I only get to kill Adrian." He sighed dramatically as if it was a huge shame and then smirked over at Wren and Shea. He twisted the keys in his pockets and bit his lip, hoping she'd arrive very soon.
