Iden eyed the substance the man was attempting to hand over to her and she gave a small nod of approval. "Alright.. I'll pay for her than." she murmured, retrieving the fee from the satchel on her side. She handed it over to the man and brushed a strand of her hair back behind her ear, looking over to the woman and sighing softly. "You'll have to forgive me for such a sudden approach.. I have a soft spot for children." she confessed. She pulled her sleeves up slightly, the warm air being a bit too much for the thick sleeves of her robes. She hadn't yet to discover a cure though she was sure capable of studying it, breaking down each of the components one at a time. She hoped with enough study she could find a way to heal everyone. But with the rate it was going, it didn't seem like there was going to be enough time. Her eyes shut and she licked her lips slowly, rings clicking together slightly and she looked over at the things he was selling, picking a vile up and examining the label. "Sleep powder?" she asked, raising her eyebrows, letting her gaze raise to the mans eyes a moment before setting it down, sighing softly, her hair spilling over her face slightly and she cursed softy under her breath, brushing it back again. She didn't hate him, just hated the fact that he would sell fake medicines and things like that. She hated that about him and in her eyes it made him a villain. She folded her arms over her chest and looked back to Victoria. "I'd really like to look at her if you'd find it alright. My house is just down the road, the one with the teal colored roof. You can come by any time, if I'm not home just leave a note." she smiled before turning to walk back into the crowd.

Ceciel ducked his head in embarrassment and he scratched at his head slightly. "I.. I don't think you do.." he mumbled softly. "I'm sorry, I just knew you were a mage and thought.. Maybe I could be useful rather than sit around my house.." he looked up at her again as he finished speaking. After a moment he let out a small almost sad sigh. "You don't have to say yes, I just get a bit bored and lighting my furniture on fire often ends up being my result.." he stammered out, wringing his hands almost nervously in front of him. He looked up towards the castle almost longingly, knowing his brother was probably never bored with his job. He looked back to her and straightened up slightly, hoping he didn't seem cooky like he did to most people. His eyes shut and he licked his lips softly before he returned his gaze down to the scrolls that were for purchase. He licked his lips slowly and let his hands fold in front of him, head tilting slightly and he chewed on his lip in deep thought. It was a rather daring action to suddenly speak to her so suddenly, especially for him but he truly couldn't stand another day locked inside and accidentally roasting his furniture in a spell gone wrong. He shook himself from his thoughts and he returned his attention to her. "I'm sorry.. I'll stop being a bother.." he murmured softly, ducking his head and turning to go back from where he came from.

Vincent hummed in thought before he smiled."Prince Seo's servant informed me he was rather casual about most things and ceremonial robes weren't required." he smiled slightly, his eyes flickering over to the prince. He shuffled between his feet, walking over to the boys closet, opening the doors and revealing the vast collection of garments. "What do you want to wear?" he asked, his eyes travelling back to the prince, standing off to the side so the clothes were visible. He licked his lips and brought a hand up, running it through his hair, glancing at him from the corner of his eyes before he returned his gaze to the floor. He really shouldn't be gandering at the prince. He was after all just a servant, though it was probably very likely that he had a crush on the boy. He flushed slightly at the thought of anyone ever finding that out and he bit his lip softly. Come to think of it maybe he did have have a fonder liking towards the prince. He never really thought of it before. He pushed the thought away quickly though. He could think about things like that in private, right now he needed to tend to Julias.

OOC: not much going on really, mostly just interactions in the market. I have Lionel if you want? He’s in the castle. Also, reminder that if it’s from another character’s perspective, Arren should probs be referred to as he as that is what others will she her as.

      Law and Order
mid twenties confused tagged: victoria, christina, jacquelyn artistic black market merchant
Law stared after the healer in mute shock as she walked away. “I didn’t even give a price,” he managed after a long pause, the confusion evident in his voice. “I wasn’t going to charge you.” He picked up the money she had left and stared at it, evidently confused. Healers were not well paid; having to pay for their own herbs meant that they were lucky to break even. He’d have to get it back to her, despite the fact she’d criticised his sleep powder (which absolutely did work, even if only because those who bought it were convinced it would) because despite the naggings of his merchant side, he was not an animal. “Can you give this back to her?” he asked, pushing the payment over to the seamstress. “I’d do it, but I have uh, matters to attend to,” he gestured vaguely at Avant with a faintly annoyed expression. The damn woman would want a job or a weapon or something else inconvenient. “She’d probably hit me over the head if I showed up at her house anyway,” he added to himself, almost under his breath.

“F-Fire?” Arren’s eyebrows disappeared into her hairline. “Good Gods, who trained you?” She looked over to the merchant woman who was still searching for her basic scrolls. How unorganized could one person be? She was being unfair. The woman was clearly in better shape than the mage in front of her. He looked three years her senior, at least, and yet he couldn’t even manage to avoid lighting his furniture? “What’s your specialisation?” she asked, curiosity overtaking her wariness.

Julias ran his hands through his hair, sighing again as he examined his clothing. Thank God for small blessings, he supposed, grabbing his preferred silver and blue robe, an elegant piece that was somewhat worn, but not enough to make it improper in the face of royalty. “Have someone prepare Eton for me, could you? Father told me we are to ride out to Bymere to meet them.” He liked Bymere. It was far quieter than Marseilles, and the woodland was a good hunting ground, though he had only been once or twice. His father travelled far more frequently, as he seemed to have a friendship, or as close as he got to a friendship, with the Duke, but rarely saw it necessary to bring his family along.

haylin & maria {one}

Postby Jade Harley. » Mon Feb 17, 2014 4:21 am

{ hey keriae i noticed you dont have anyone so me and megan decided that for you to get a start we could get haylin and merek/julias to meet at bymere? }

haylin seo
seventeen irritated tagged: servants at the castle prince

Haylin's anger was beyond words. How dare his parents send him off to some foreign kingdom when he was doing so well with his studies. How dare they send him off to study with some snobby nobody prince. How many little royal babies did the queen even have? Like ten or something? And wasn't the Merek guy fifth? Haylin closed his eyes for a moment as he thought about the alien kingdom. The cuisine and architecture and the manner in which people acted would be so different. Haylin would have to read a book on Marseilles etiquette so that he would not make a fool of himself. He sighed and opened his eyes again. And despite Marseille's and Yangshan's good relations his parents still arranged for him to meet halfway at a Dukedom. "Well, I suppose that it will improve the relations we have with the Duke of Bymere," As the boy spoke, the carriage entered a path blanketed by the shadows of the trees surrounding it. The air suddenly felt cooler and everything was a bit more relaxed. He let a smile creep onto his face when he heard the birds singing and a river nearby. "And it's only for a bit right?" Haylin, continued, "It won't take too long!" Just like that, he managed to cheer himself up for what he knew deep down inside would only be, for a little while.

The castle soon came to view and the first thing Haylin noticed was that, just like in his books and stories, it looked completely different to what he was use to. No grand palaces with delicate carvings on the side, no roofs that were painted gold and definitely no bright colours that stood out against everything. The castle was not big, or small it felt like it was just the right size, for a castle. It did not feel condescending but welcoming, almost like it was built for you to feel more at ease when you stepped inside. The dark haired boy gave a small smile as the carriage came to a stop and the door was opened for him. He stepped out, smoothing down the fancy silk robes that his parents asked him to specifically wear for this "Oh so momentous occasion." His robes consisted of different shades of blue mixed with white and despite them being hot and slightly uncomfortable, by now Haylin was completely used to clothing like this. He was greeted at the entrance by several, of what he assumed, were the castle staff.

maria  alexis
eighteen pumped tagged: julias castle squire

Maria could not believe she was assigned with something so important! Or, maybe not that important. After all Prince Merek was what? The fifth son of the kingdom? The young squire brought both hands up and pushed her hair back. Most of the servants told her that this particular Prince was one of the pickiest and most bothersome to deal with and she only hoped that those were just first impressions, especially since guarding the prince would probably end up being...a long term assignment. She sighed, continuing her walk through the halls. She was meant to escort the prince along with a Knight by the name of Lionel and she assumed that the servants made her go fetch him because they were meant to leave soon? The girl sighed again, not liking the fact that people were not telling her everything. Despite that, the girl kept a soft smile on her face and tried to think good thoughts to fuel her positive attitude. She stopped at what she thought was his door, (all the doors here looked the same), and knocked twice.

Iden Maxwell
♥ 25 ♥ Healer ♥ Feeling a little blue ♥ Tagged: Nobody ♥ Location: In town ♥

Iden let her eyes travel along the crowd as she walked, pulling her hood up yet again. She honestly despised when people stopped her just to gawk. They could gander from a distance but honestly, having to stop her from doing whatever she needed to do, merely to gaze at her with drool dripping down their chins? Ridiculous. She rolled her eyes at the mere thought. Why on earth was she feeling so irritable? She clenched her fists up slightly as she walked, her hands sliding into her pockets and she made her way towards the vendors where they supplied food. She managed to get closer and she eyed some of the things, buying one of the larger loaves of bread and holding it delicately in her arms. She hurriedly made her way towards the poorest part of town, looking to make sure she wasn't being followed before she knocked on one of the doors three times, each knock being spaced out only a few seconds later than the other one. After the third knock the door opened and she was ushered inside.

The small one roomed house was occupied by four small beds, each one looking dirtier and less expensive than the next. She felt a pang in her heart as she walked over to the smallest bed, carefully sitting down on the bed beside the small bundled up child. He didn't have the plague but he was still excruciatingly sick. She brought her gloved hand up and stroked the childs cheek softly. He wasn't more than four and his cheeks were thin with obvious mal-nourishment. It wasn't the Mom's fault. She tried so hard to provide for them but it was killing her. Iden let her eyes shut, hood falling away and the child smiled happily up at her. "Den!" he beamed. The woman truly hated when anyone shortened her name, but the child was so innocent and fragile that it didn't phase her. She smiled and let her hand come up to his forehead, eyes shutting and she began muttering in an ancient language, the runes on her skin glowing ever so slightly and slowly growing brighter with each word. The childs own eyes shut and he held onto her hand loosely, having become used to this by now. She finished treating all of them, giving them all strength and trying to cure the smallest ones ailments though she knew it was going to end up killing him, her magic might be able to prolong his life but his death was inevitable. She bowed her head once she finished blessing the mother, handing her the loaf and nodding to her. "Be careful.." she murmured softly, looking over her shoulder at the children and waving at the smallest one final time before exiting the building and making her way back into town.

Ceciel paused his steps as Arren paused him. He looked over at him and his eyes were a bit wide, cheeks flushing a bit. "I.. Well that's kind of the thing.. Nobody taught me.." he mumbled softly. He brushed it off quickly, bad thoughts trying to come back and he looked back to the ground, returning to where he'd previously been standing beside him. "I think that it's light?" he mumbled, though his response was much more of a question than an exact answer. He would have showed her an example but he was absolutely sure that he'd end up catching fire to something. "It could be fire.." he mumbled almost mutely, trying to be more amusing with that comment rather than serious. He looked over to the scrolls and books the person was selling and he hummed, seeing them but not actually looking. He looked back to the mage. "I really have no idea.. That's why I was hoping I could help you.. Well.. Really I guess I thought that you could help me.. I suppose.." he stammered, his cheeks paling a bit and he cast a wary glance up at him. He let out a soft sigh, tucking his hands in his pockets and letting his shoulders pull up in a shrug. "I really don't know.. I'm awful with words and.. and people and I really just want to prove that I'm not a waste of space. Maybe you could help me with that and.. Maybe you won't.. But I'd really appreciate it if you helped. I'd also understand if you didn't and this rambling made you uncomfortable because honestly that's how I'm beginning to feel.." he looked at the ground again and he sighed. "Just please.. Don't give me hope where there is none.." he mumbled softly.

♥ 20 ♥ Servant to Julias ♥ Feeling worried ♥ Tagged: Julias & Maria ♥ Location:Prince's room ♥

Vincent nodded, helping the prince put the robes on and making sure they were tied properly before he took a step back, giving him a small bow to show respect and he nodded, straightening up. "I'll make sure that Eton is prepared." he nodded. "I'll have them make food and prepare it so when you return you both will be able to eat." he smiled, opening his mouth to say something reassuring but he was interrupted by a few knocks on the door. "I'll get that as well.." he mumbled, walking over to the door and opening it up, revealing a woman. His eyebrows rose in confusion before he remembered something about a squire to watch over them. He looked over his shoulder at Julias a moment, almost as if he was upset at the decision to have this squire here but he had to shake it off. He stepped out of her way. "Pardon me.." he mumbled before he slipped past her and towards the stables, his eyebrows pulled together a bit in deep thought. His feet walked to their own accord, his mind so wrapped up in his thoughts and he nearly smacked into a wall, grateful that nobody was around to witness it. He hurried to the stables and had the stable boy ready Eton before he slipped to the kitchen, making sure the chef was alerted and he could hear the sound of pans clanking together as he exited the kitchen. He stopped just outside of the kitchen. Did he need to return to the prince? Would the prince meet him outside? He sighed and began to make his way back to the prince's room, hoping that he wasn't being replaced.

ALEXANDER LOUIS BONFILS
duke of bymere

The foreign prince was arriving today. He had, for some reason, been told that he was to study with Marseille's fifth heir, Prince Merek, and he, Alexander Louis Bonfils, the Duke of Bymere, had been chosen to meet the Prince Haylin half way, in the middle of his own Dukedom, at the castle he called home. The foreign prince would be arriving any minute and it was a good job that he had been ready hours ago.

He heard the clattering of hooves upon his driveway and moments later one of the servants knocked on the door. Alexander called out for the door to open and in came on of the footmen, quickly announcing the arrival of the Prince. Alexander got to his feet from his desk, where he was busy filing paperwork for the farmers and such whom lived in his Dukedom, and exited the study. The entire castle was quite grand, matching that of the Royal Family's own abode. This was where he had grown up and everything stayed the way his late wife would have wanted it.

He arrived in the hallway and saw the Prince in his doorway. Immediately, his back bent in a respectful bow of greeting - he was put a simple (although powerful) duke, and this was a Prince. He was to be shown respect, but if he was too cocky, Alexander would not hesitate to put him in his place.

Jacquelyn Avant
22/aѕѕaѕѕιn/locaтιon: town

Jacquelyn quietly chuckled to herself, the tip of her tongue held between her teeth to stop from laughing harder. The man's irritation was practically radiating off of him. Annoying people came naturally and quite frankly, it was amusing. She didn't enjoy people's suffering in a sadistic way, but all compassion for others had been practically wiped away. Kindness was practically a weakness in the life she lived. Butting heads was what she did. Well, that and killing people.
Jacquelyn's eyes blankly followed Iden as the woman wove back into the bustle of the evening crowd. "Come on, Law" she cooed as she turned back to his handsome face, eyes gleaming. Her gloved finger traced down the handle of her knife slowly, feeling the dents and engravings. In a swift movement, she yanked the dagger out from the wood, which now had a deep, permanent slit carved into it's former flawless surface. "I need a new knife, you wouldn't possible have one, would you?" she asked. At this point, it wouldn't be a problem if a knight or a guard saw her with the bloody knife, she could easily run into the darkness or just as easily blame it on Law and his antics. It had happened before; that probably didn't help with his distaste of her.
She kept watching everyone with a sly look, until her blue eyes caught the sigh of the little girl, pitifully standing with her mother. The poor child had obviously been cursed with this plague, she was coughing and had a very sickly appearance. A look of sympathy flashed across Jacquelyn's face, but was gone as quickly as it appeared. She almost felt bad for interrupting their transaction. Almost.

ooc: thanks for letting us know, shouldn't be too much of a problem, since this is a fairly relaxed rp c:

      Law and Order

Law's scowl deepened impossibly as he sided over to Avant, his annoyance practically tangible. "I hope you're going to pay for that," he growled, running a finger along the cut in the wood with far more care than he displayed towards the average human. "Dukes use this wood for their crafts." He narrowed his eyes, glaring at her. She really should have learnt at this point not to deliberately play with him like this. While he had no way of defending himself one on one, he was highly connected, something she as a dealer of information should be able to recognise was an important asset in this game of power. "Knives don't sell that well," he murmured, eyes glinting dangerously. He had some of course. He had everything. "Nobody's looking to kill in this age of death."

nineteen alarmed tagged: cecil lightning mage
Arren was silent for a long stretch of time, assessing the man with a slightly cold, calculating gaze. "You're asking me to be your mentor," she pointed out eventually, and her tone clearly showed what she thought of that particular idea. "I'm a young mage, only recently out of the Academy myself, and you're asking me to teach you?" How he had managed to be able to do anything at all was a mystery to her. No training at all. He was an embarrassment. "You don't even seem to know that fire is one of the basic elements," she pointed out, accusing. Bluntness, was as always, the simplest way to go.

      Infinitely Superior
seventeen fairly insulted tagged: maria prince of marseilles
Julias looked over at the squire, unimpressed as usual. He felt faint irritation that Vincent had simply dismissed himself, without awaiting the Prince's word, but pushed it aside in favour of this even more insulting fact. "Can we really do no better than a glorified stablegirl?" he asked in exasperation, striding past without awaiting an answer. Really, this was degrading. He was his generation's heir, surely he deserved better.

      Iron Willed
twenty eight concerned tagged: none knight of marseilles
Lionel breathed out a heavy sigh as he walked back down to the stables. He had just been talked at by Prince Aldrich, the Merek boy's father. He had a good deal of respect for the man, but he had to admit, despite his love for his monarchs, the younger prince was a swine. He was not looking forward to this assignment, and dreading the fact that there seemed to be no definite end. Bearing his unpleasant load in silence, the knight entered Blackfly's stable and went over to touch the horse's flank. She was a gorgeous mare, despite the clear signs of sickness. He hoped she would survive, and not only because she'd be expensive to replace.

Iden Maxwell
♥ 25 ♥ Healer ♥ Feeling a little blue ♥ Tagged: Nobody ♥ Location: In town ♥

Iden dragged herself towards her house again, not knowing whether or not she really should be bothered to head back into the marketplace or not. She might end up running into Law again if she decided to. She brought a hand up and brushed the piece of hair away from her face. She really needed something to hold the strands back with. That had her turning and heading back into the market place. If she really thought about it, her hatred for Law was really pathetic. He hadn't truly done anything evil. Of course she really didn't like the way he lied to his clients. That was what kept her at bay and she'd probably hold onto that until the end.

She found a small cart where there were little hand made hair pieces and she asked around for something that would help keep her smaller bits of hair back as well as not being too noticeable. After a few minutes of looking she found something that would work, it being a small clasp. The woman showed her how it worked and Iden stuck it into her hair, holding the strand back and she smiled at the woman, paying her for it and buying another one as well to stick it into her hair for later in case the bangs on the other side began to act up as well.

Ceciel looked to the ground again with a small, muted sigh as he carried on about how little he knew. But he knew that he was uninformed, knew that he was a hopeless cause. He shook his head slightly, bringing a hand up and rubbing tiredly at his face. "Look, I know that I'm basically useless but maybe I'm tired of being that way. Either you can try and help me or you can just say no and I'll be on my way. Just don't stand there and insult me on the only thing that I'm remotely decent at. I've had enough of being pushed around and beaten on and I really don't need it from you too." His hands were clenched up ever so slightly and his fingers were very slightly glowing with color though he had no intention of hurting anyone, especially not the mage. He relaxed and the color faded slowly. He looked down at the slightly charred wrap and his eyes shut softly. "I can't be nothing anymore.." he mumbled softly.

Vincent Cartwright

Vincent stopped once he entered the hallway and saw the Prince heading his way. The boy looked pretty angry and he really hoped it wasn't his doing. He continued walking, going to meet him down the hallway. He could feel his heart thudding almost nervously inside of his chest. Why did everything have to be so mixed up in his mind right now? He tried to shove away the unnecessary thoughts and he fell into step with the Prince, looking over at him with a slightly bowed head, not wanting to interrupt the Prince's thoughts or possible words should he decide to speak to him. He really hoped he hadn't done anything wrong. He glanced over at the squire behind the Prince and his eyes narrowed ever so slightly at her. Did she say something to make him angry? He hoped not.
