Milo jumped upon hearing Steven yell at Nick to get away from the equipment. Of course, he naturally turned his head with inhuman speed to glare at the young man and make sure he had listened. It was always comical to see Steven in action just before the shoot, because he seemed to think that everything fell on him to get in order. He looked up attentively as Steven rambled about his lost watch, and the infamous schedule that Milo had heard nothing about. Steven liked to organize everything for them and then scramble around like a madman trying to get everyone to follow it. Milo didn't have any concerns (other than the fact Nick was wasting time by trying to cuddle with Kaylin) about them not getting everything accomplished before dark, but there was pretty much nothing he could do to soothe Steven. He'd tried all throughout the previous season, but the guy acted like he was being tazed and tortured if you tried to take his self-assigned job from him. Milo only hoped that, after they'd gotten set up and were lounging in home base, Steven would see there was nothing else to do but let the camera crew do their job. It was a far cry, but maybe someday. He looked down at the computer that he was checking and chuckled while Steven rambled about finding a home base and asking where Voodoo had gone. Milo looked down under the table, having previously spotted the cat playing with the cords that he drooped off of the table. "Doo is right here, Steven!" he called out, bending down and gently picking the black cat up from the mess he had made. "You're supposed to be finding us some ghosts, buddy. Not my power cord." The cat struggled to get free, putting its paws on Milo's nose and pushing away. Milo was extremely glad he'd given Cynthia the money to declaw him. Normally he wouldn't want to put a cat through that, but when tensions got high and all you wanted to do was hold a nice, cuddly, warm creature... it didn't feel too nice to have the creature rip holes in you.

The cat meowed as if Milo was torturing it, and he flinched. Steven was so weird about the cat, one would be prone to thinking it was his and not Cynthia's. He quickly set Doo down on the ground and stood back up after watching the cat scramble in Steven's general direction. He was all ready to go. All that needed to be done was to get home base established, move all of the equipment in, set up cameras around the building and then test the connections with the laptops and the bluetooth earpieces. He moved over, attaching his own earpiece rather hastily. He knew he wouldn't really be on camera at all, so he didn't care if it showed.

Nick exhaled sharply in slight pain as Kaylin dug her elbow into his stomach. He smiled right away, though, showing that he wasn't irritated by it. Their relationship was full of playing and teasing, and what some couples would get mad about, was just how they showed each other their love. Of course, the rest of the crew found it irritating and childish, sometimes. Kaylin replied that they were already famous and proceeded to call him by his professional name, and he rolled his eyes. Of course, just as he went to speak, she said "we're not all as egotistical as you, honey," in that accent of hers. He took a step back, raising his eyebrows after she kissed his cheek and sauntered away.

"Already in character, are we?" he muttered under his breath, smirking at her back while she walked into the center of the room and began admiring the room aloud. He was admiring her at the same time, biting his lip and watching her in all of her excitement. He couldn't wait for them to finish this season together. They'd be that couple that was talked about on news stations and the one that dressed alike at awards ceremonies and was all fans could talk about. He knew they had the ability to do it. Of course, he didn't think anything about the rest of the crew. He sometimes forgot they were even there, the little diva he was. His attention, of course, was caught as Jayna watched across the center of the room and went over by Steven with the map. He cleared his throat, looking down and running his hand through his hair to fix the intricate spikes.

He saw the sparkle in his girlfriend's eyes as she moved over by Steven's abandoned laptop. Raising his eyebrows, he watched her sneakily, daringly place her hand on top of it. He chuckled, finding a seat nearby and pulling it over to him before sitting down. He obviously wasn't going to do any work to get anything ready--so why not just sit and watch the action?

being so focused on a stubborn knot in a thin cord, cynthia jumped when steven was right behind her on the staircase, not even seeing him get there. by the time she got to answer, jayla had already taken up on his offer, and cynthia let out a sigh of relief. even if she was going with somebody else, she really didn't know if she wanted to. she'd be a lot more comfortable if the whole group went together & she could get a feel for the place instead of jumping right into the episode. "oh, um..i'm sure you would rather jayla go with you? she has a map and all.", cynthia said reassuringly, hating to turn him down. she wasn't completely ignorant & had noticed he took a liking towards her. yet out of all the people in the group, she felt like she knew steven the least, and didn't really know how to approach him. but he was just as crazy as her, but not in a careless way, but more a control freak kind of way. the similarities were they but then they weren't. but cynthia couldn't lie to herself, and she actually thought he was pretty handsome, and found all his crazy schedules, routines & antics sort of cute. she laughed a little to herself as he seemed to lose his 'control' over the group (or what control he thought he had), and went back to studying the knot in the cord. being rather quiet this trip, cynthia hadn't really said anything yet except her usual, expected fight with nick. it was probably just the surroundings that made her jumpy & uncomfortable. she looked up at nick & kaylin, rolling her eyes & wishing they would get on task, tempted to tell steven that nick messing with his computer ( and yes, she would lie), just to get nick in some more trouble. but she decided not to, she had to film the guy for a long while, & didn't want to make things worse between them.

frustrated with her laptop freezing & deciding not to start, she sighed loudly. she didn't know what had her so flustered this time around. glad to her someone offering help, she replied sweetly. "well, if you can unfreeze a laptop, i'm sure you'll be the biggest help right now.", she said, looking up at noah & smiling. finally giving up on the laptop, she dug deeper into her personal equipment bag and found her earpiece. she fixed it snugly into her ear, her extremely thick hair covered it up, so no need to worry about how it looked on her. it's not like she needed to worry in the first place, she never appeared anywhere on the show. she glanced over at her partner who was doing the same as her, intending to ask him a question. "wouldn't it be ideal if we stayed on the bottom floor, like we always do?" she asked, noticing steven & jayla mentioning something about the 'home base' but going up the stairs. it didn't make much of a difference to her, but it was always nice for someone to be on the bottom floor at all times, in case anything was happening & they were all up stairs. before shrugging it off, she called up to steven & kayla, "be careful you guys! this place is pretty sketchy.", genuinely concerned. looking down from the stairwell, jessie started inserting cords into her still frozen laptop, about ready to throw the thing out of a window. she had tried restarting it, and the stupid thing ended up repeating the process. positive they'd only have one computer tonight, she was tempted to just put it back in the laptop bag, that was unfortunately covered in voodoo's hair.

Steven was looking at Cynthia seriously, the slightest hopeful smile on his lips, when Jayna offered her own help. The brunet fumbled with his sleeves anxiously, not wanting to turn Jayna down- behind Cynthia she was his favourite girl in the group, them being partners and all- but Cynthia. Then his favourite girl in the group decided to add insult to injury by pretty much turning him down. Steven's shoulders slumped and he breathed out deeply and pretty much his whole body spelled 'disappointment'. Just for a second, before he looked at Jayna with a slight grin, happy that at least someone was willing to put up with him. "Let's go then! Guys, we have, literally, an hour until we need to start."

xxxHe scooped Voodoo up and placed the cat on his shoulders, his normal resting place, and took a few more steps up the stairs. As if his warning might not be quite enough, he turned around again. "One! Hour!" His hand went to his phone and he unlocked it quickly before holding it up, even though Jayna was the only person who could possibly see the minuscule screen. "I have a timer on here, I swear to God!" With a tap on the screen to start the timer ticking down from 60 minutes, he pushed the phone into his back pocket, and with a sniff fixed Voodoo on his shoulders as the cat started sliding down his back. He looked down at Jessie with a rather superior look. "I think we'll be fine. We know what we're doing, isn't like we haven't done this before." He looked at Jayna as he walked backwards upstairs, testing each step carefully before stepping onto it. He knew how old the house was- he didn't particularly want to destroy the stairs or whatever. So he had taken Jessie's advice. "What's your idea, then, partner?" He bumped her shoulder with his fist before realizing how totally uncool that was and blushing, slumping his shoulders (Doo gave him a bat on the back of the neck for that). "I mean... uh... whereabouts do you think we should set up home base?" He quickly tried to scrabble back whatever dignity he had left as he reached the top of the staircase and almost sat down hard, not expecting the stairs to, like... end there.

Steven had made such a big deal with leaving and reminding everyone that they had exactly sixty minutes to go, it was almost time to start before he was actually out of sight. And he hadn't even seen her touching his laptop. Shame. Still, there were other ways to have fun. With a grin she placed the computer on the ground and with the tip of her boot pushed the oblong object underneath the table, until the thick creamy cloth fell down to cover it. "Oh, life is fun." She clapped her hands, winked at Nick, and then walked over to Cynthia, her best friend and 'partner-in-crime', which Kaylin had ironically dubbed her a few months back.

xxx"Need help? Actually, never mind, give it to me." Taking the cord from her, she began picking at it with sharp, manicured nails. "Are we not going to talk about how Steve is so completely in love with you?" She looked up from her task with a grin, wiggling her eyebrows only slightly inappropriately. "You broke his little heart, C. You broke his little heart. She tutted and shook her head mockingly, frowning down at the cord in her hands with a determined look. "He's got to choose between that cat of yours and you at some point..." She muttered, working her thumbnail into the middle of the knot and finally pulling the cord loose. "Hah! Yes!" With a snicker of triumph she began unraveling the cord before fixing it into the vaguely computer looking... thing beside her. Come to think of it, it probably wasn't even the right cord for the right machine, but... whatever? Right, whatever. More pressing matters at hand. She placed her hands on her hips and watched her best friend closely, obviously waiting for an answer. Something bit at the back of her mind, the way Jayna's expression had changed when she saw Nick and Kaylin, but she firmly told the idea to stay there. Like she'd thought earlier- more pressing manners at hand than whatever Jayna thought about her and Nick's relationship. Totally.
