It was almost a miracle. To find this perfect house, set there by God Himself just for Marjorie, was a miracle. For the first time in years, Marjorie had nearly cried at its perfection. The walls were the perfect shade of grey, the floor was beautiful dark mahogany, black and white photographs hung on the walls. An entire room with stained-glass windows was dedicated to literature of every era. And the woman's wardrobe: that at last brought a single tear to Marjorie's cheek. The previous owner, Marjorie believed, was a lawyer. It had been far too long since everything had been so perfect. All she had to do now was work on Drew.

She was dressed in an instant, shedding her horrible school uniform. The tall black leather boots, the long suede coat with laced back and satin lining, the white button-up with the black Victorian vest, and why not add the woman's Saturday night black skinny jeans? Some people, namely Drew, would think that her all-black style, yet not goth, a little over the top, but she didn't have much care for his opinion in this case. Try as he might to deny it, Marjorie knew he kind of liked her raven signature. Eying herself in the mirror, Marjorie smiled in delight. She was just too lucky that this woman wore the same size as her. Marjorie quickly braided her blonde hair and threw it over her shoulder.

Marjorie hurried downstairs, barely having to look at the boy sitting in her living room to know that he wouldn't be going anywhere. She wondered for a moment what his fascination with that coin was. But then she shoved that idea aside for later use. The rain had stopped, and she needed to get back to Drew. Stepping outside, the thick smell of fresh rain surrounded her. Town hall wasn't too far from her house, one of the reasons she had chosen it, so that she could always be within Drew's reach.

Stepping out of the car, Marjorie hurried up the stairs to Town Hall and moved down the inside stairs to the basement. Drew was smart; if there was radioactive rain coming, this is where he'd be. She had to slam her shoulder into the steel door twice to finally get the rusty hinges to give, but the door opened with an ear piercing shriek. Her eyes found Drew, sitting next to some other girl, almost instantly. She barely smiled as she waltzed over, swooping in to stand at Drew's right hand side.

Her eyes barely twinkled in the dim light. "Storm's over, Drew," she reported. "And I've acquired that little item you wanted. You're master plan must be quite profound."

He slowly reached out his other hand and placed it over the top of her own, now having both of his hands clinging to her grasp. "Amanda. It will be okay. I won't let them hurt you." It was no lie. Drew wouldn't let them lay a finger on her dark tresses. Not until his time. "It's going to be okay. Now, rest. You'll need it for what is to come in the morning." He slowly moved closer to her and planted a small kiss on her head then pulled back, smiled the slightest, and released her hand.

-Timeskip to next morning-

Drew had waked about half an hour earlier, still slightly groggy. He had barely caught with sleep, and the worry deep within his chest seemed to ache. He was hunching over on the same bunk he had sat with Amanda on the evening before. He sighed heavily as if the weight of the world was settling on his shoulders. In practical sense, it almost was. The whole town needed to take careful actions, and very prepared. A radiation storm had just struck the town. If anything else happened ... It might kill them. Especially if they are not prepared.

Silent snores filled the room from resting bodies that lie on the ground or on cots. Silence, mostly. Along with his own heavy breathing drumming in his ears. He was just glad the Townies had not made a move on them for mad reasons in the midst of the pitch night. He fooled around with his loosened tie that hung loosely around his neck, thinking deeply in thought. But the following to come ripped through his mind. the sound of the basement door creaked opened and faint clacks of footsteps approached. He was on alert, standing from his bunk, peering over the resting town's people. In addition, heading straight to him in a perfect cut line, was Marjorie. She wore full black leather over her slim body, with her blonde locks slashing against her curved shoulders.
Drew was caught off guard, surprised, which was quite unusual. Her words alight him, making a minute leer spread over his sharp distinct features. "Well, good job." Was all he spat out, giving her a dark look as she made herself comfortable by his side. He made no indication about his plan or any of the following that she quizzed him for. However, he could not hide the beaming look that shined in his dark eyes.

By the time the storm was over, Karsten managed to retread the gun and up throughout the night asleep but his subconscious wide-awake, thanking Bullenbeisser for his amazing nose and freaky large jaws. Karsten had simply walked out of the room, somehow managing to get Cassie out and into the light to treat her nose, with Jared as well. He didn't even try to get Jessi, she would come walking out, or, more likely, destroy the place then exit the room. "It looks like a disaster," Karsten commented, looking outside. The nature was dead, a few trees just barely missed the home and blocked the front door. "It looks like we will have to walk out of the back door." He inspected, running a paper towel under cool water and wiping the bloody, dried area around Cassie's nose, then worked on gently sanitizing as he bent her over the kitchen sink. "I'm surprise, Cass. You wacked your head and you're drowning yourself."
He was somewhat calmed, since sitting in the corner with the gun underneath his butt most of the last hour is such a calming experience. He could admit he's an oddball, but in reality, he's only straight-forward and doesn't like drama. At all. That's mostly why he cut off the lights. He couldn't stand their faces anymore. The gun was in Karsten's belt loop, and was quite sensitive, his body could feel any movement within a foot of him. He could.. sense it. And his juice was at %100. He could at least try out the Psionic Inundation he discovered on Cass, at least to try and calm her, somewhat cool her sass and rudeness towards him for the moment. Karsten focused on her eyes, those highlighted, grey-blue eyes, though not-so-obvious like usual.
He attempted to flood her with feelings of likeness, though his own blood pressure shot down immediately, he now seeing black and white specks. Suddenly, Karsten collapsed on his knees ontop of the tile floor, now grimacing with pain and drowsiness. After several minutes of blindness, he then shot back and felt his loop, the gun still intact. He opened his eyes, and he could now stand up, his knees red and white underneath his black skinny jeans. He rubbed his own knees, ignoring the people around him and managing to resume his work of manipulation, now seeing a slight change in Cassie's face, not so freaked and rough, but smoother and friendly feelings, though still very.. Cassie. He pressed a kitchen towel against her face, the blood now gushing into it, and now the counter or the sink. With his other hand, Karsten attempted to rinse out the sink and wipe down the counter, now stained but cleaner than before. The sink was stained a light pink.

It was dark, the air was warm and the scent of early autumn filled the air. The late smells of summer lingering in his nostrils, the ‘green’ smell of the lakes surrounding his small town marked the air along with the familiar scent that fallen leaves gave off. The black sky was dotted with the glittering crystals of stars and beautiful crescent moon hung overhead.

The streets were dark, lined with trees and houses whose lights had long since been shut off as everyone went to bed. But not he, he’d always had trouble sleeping at night, just like his twin. It was at least one of the things they had in common, like their musical interests and, well, overall fashion choice. Although Adam preferred his tripp pants with their chains and straps and many pockets over his brothers shredded jeans. He even wore them now and the familiar sound of the chains brought a comfort to him.

He was on main street now, the streets deserted and dark aside from the pools of light cast by the street lamps and the few lights that the store left on overnight. It had been a long time since he’d seen this place, but it was nostalgic to him and a rare feeling of tranquility filled him. This was his home, this small town in Canada, sheltered away in a valley. He missed this place, although he would never admit that to anyone. One misstep and he tripped on the curb, sending him slamming face first into the pavement, the last thing he heard was; “Get some duct tape, mon!”

He jolted awake, gasping in a huge mouthful of the pillow that was pressed against his face. His body sprung into action before he could wrap his mind around what was going on. Despite being tangled in a blanket that had previously not been there before he’d fallen asleep he managed to fling his attacker to the floor, throwing himself on top of her.

    Wait, her?

His knees were pressed into her biceps and he straddled her torso, effectively pinning her to the floor. He left arm was raised and his fist was clenched, ready to smash into her face. But another set of hands grabbed him, stopping him from releasing his fist and giving his mind a moment to process. Not to mention that electrical surge that went through his body cleared him up pretty fast. Maybe that was just his imagination, but that was a little too big of an electrocution to merely be an overactive imagination, right? A voice filled his ears, but he heard no words. It was his brother, Kevin, berating him about hitting kids or something.

In a heartbeat he was on his feet again, jerking himself out of his twins grip. “Get off me!” He snarled, his voice vicious. Adrenaline was pumping through him again, and that well of anger was bubbling inside of him. Whatever was happening to him, whatever it was that allowed him to kill by touching was wrenching his feelings around. Bubbling inside of him, difficult to force aside and stop him from flinging himself at the child and hitting her. This wasn’t like him, sure he’d always been a scrapper and fighting, but hitting kids and girls wasn’t his thing. He just picked fights with ‘superior’ people to prove to them that they weren’t in fact that amazing hero they thought they were.

His fists were clenched at his sides, his jaw tense as his teeth ground together. Kevin hadn’t touched his skin had he? No, no, he was wearing his jacket and his brother was still standing by the couch, although he had placed himself between Adam and the little girl. Whoever she was. Why was he babysitting some neighbourho- oh yeah. Her parents had probably vanished along with all the other adults.

“Dude, what the hell!? I always knew you were touchy, but this is extreme.”
    “Shut up, Kevin,” he growled.
“No, what’s going on with you? I don’t see you for three days and when you come home you just about kill a kid and almost punch me in the face.”
“It’s crazy, you wouldn’t believe me, besides the rodent doesn’t need to hear it. Why is she even here?”
“Uh, heh, we’re in a fallout zone man. There’s a storm coming in, and, well.” He stopped and shot a glance to the little girl.
“Oh.” That was it, he got it fairly quickly. The fallout shelter, that was he’d brought he here. Why had he even agreed to help his crazy brother with that even crazier idea in the first place? “Well, I guess we should get in there then, grab some supplies.”
“I had already cleared the house and a few other houses and was coming to wake you up, but I guess, uh...damn, I never got her name, but anyways she beat me to the punch I guess. But yeah, let’s get going.”
“Yeah, uh, go ahead.” He watched with dark eyes as his brother ushered the little girl out of the room ahead of himself, although he seemed to be careful to keep his distance, and was, was he humming? This day was one bizarre thing after another. He trailed after his twin and the girl into the safe room, shutting it behind him, then he settled in the furthest corner away from the two and dozed off again, careful to keep his gloved hands tucked in and away from the grasp of a wild little girl with a thirst for blood.

    Timeskip To Next Day:

When he woke the bunker was empty, apparently Kevin and the little girl had already dared to set foot outside, so it must be morning. Why morning? Adam never woke up in the mornings. Grumbling to himself he rose to his feet. He was still getting used to the raw emotions welling inside of him, but hunger was gnawing at his stomach as well. He made his way upstairs, finding Kevin and the kid in the kitchen, a box of Fruit Loops sat on the table.
“Those cause ADD,” he mumbled and opened the freezer. Yes, they were still there. A single box of deluxe pizza pops with the message “If you so much as touch these Kevin I’ll slit your throat and sacrifice you to the devil” was written in all capital letters on it. Apparently they hadn’t been touched. Awesome. “I’m going to eat some radioactive pizza pops.”
“Uh, the uh, the fallout fried the microwave.”
    “Are you kidding me?”
“No, but we can still make them, check this out.”
As his brother reached over to grab the box of pizza pops from his hands what he’d heard the night before was confirmed. His brother was humming, almost like a quiet electrical buzz. He almost jerked his hands away but Kevin was careful not to touch him and he yanked the box away, unwrapped all the pizza pops and flung them into the microwave. “Oh thanks genius, you gonna cook them with your mind now?”
“Yep, well not quite. Just watch this.”
He watched, no other choice really, as his twin planted one hand on each side of the microwave and narrowed his eyes in focus. The microwave flared to life and in a few minutes his pizza pops were done and on a plate in his hands. “So you did electrocute me last night,” he accused, although his tone wasn’t s malicious as it usually was.
“I had to get your attention somehow.”
    “And you discovered this when?”
“Yesterday, right after everyone vanished. I uh, crashed into a lamp post while I was skateboarding and the light exploded.”
    “And your friend?”
“Well, she knows about it now.”
“Just now?” He shook his head and scarfed down a pizza pop. “Keeping secrets this one.” Alright now he was just being hypocritical, but he wasn’t about to go around showing off his power. That would be a disaster. “Alright, what’s on the menu today then? But wait, first of all what can she do? Something like you, or no?”

Amanda sighed, falling asleep against his shoulder, feeling peaceful. She slept leaning against him all night, not even realizing it. She woke up the next morning when Drew woke, stirring and getting up, talking to a girl she recognized as Marjorie. "What's going on, Drew?" She sat up, her back stiff. She was wondering why he had spoken to her like that, but then again, that was drew. She had to remember who he really was. The kindness thing was probably just an act, but she didn't want to believe that. She wanted to believe that he really did like her, even if it was just as a friend. She remembered what he had said last night, how she would need her rest for the morning. What was going to happen today? She felt a little scared, wondering what was going to happen. "Drew?" She asked, stretching, then running her fingers through her hair, which had gotten slightly matted and gross. She didn't know what was going on, and she wondered if she could truly trust him or not. She wanted to, and she wanted to so badly. Could she really? Well, he kept her safe through the night, and he took her with him to the house, instead of abandoning her to die in the storm. She didn't know what to feel right now. She sighed, shivering slightly, then got up out of the bunk. She sighed, crossing her arms and waiting for a response from Drew. What was going on here? She asked herself over and over. It was starting to annoy her, even though it was her own thoughts. Was she really annoying herself again? Gah. She didn't know what else to do, so she just waited.

She hadn't moped around the night, just stayed silent, aware, with wide awake eyes that scanned through the dark quite well. she didn't get a moments rest through the solid hours, she was just perked, ready, and took notice at the weight that tied her down a bit from the items clinging beneath her military uniform.
her parents had always taught her to be prepared for anything at all. even to show her dominance and power to others. however, jessi, well, she wasn't all that much different from another besides that she was freakishly trained like a ... what was the word? um ... she couldn't place it. it involved more combat than any person would know, along with all kinds of martial arts training that she could literally do in her sleep. yeah, that wasn't normal. that was the reason everybody thought she was a freak at school when she beat up an eighteen year old jock that cried like a baby for a week straight. and that was also the reason she was no home-schooled. her life was just peachy. and to add, in the middle of the night, she had thrown up twice. the only question was why?
the next morning, she followed the nazi and her two friends out where the light shined onto their faces. her boots thudded heavily on the floor with each step she took, giving her a nice satisfaction of showing her proud and yet arrogant dominance. yeah, sure, cassie might be right about russians.
jessi leaned against the corner wall, watching carefully at the nazi's moves, touching up her friend's nose. she didn't like him a bit. but of course, she wasn't actually going to kill him. however, she wished she wanted to or at least would. she was at least glad the poor boy had a weapon. he wouldn't last a moment with her without at least a gun.
she crossed her muscled arms firmly over her chest, eyes narrowed into slits, in a death glare.
she was still a little bit -- or maybe that was an understatement -- very much confused and feeling like she was crazy. she had magically healed the nazi kid and now, well, besides that the nazi burst the light and was acting crazy too, jared, her friend, had pushed her through a wall. perfect. they were all banana-balls. well, besides cassie. she just seemed stupid, like always. especially with a gun in her wobbly hands.
jessi wiggled her foot to left and right slowly, concentrating on it's movements every other moment when her dark eyes weren't placed carefully on the nazi who looked to be killing her friend by the blood amount that spilled over the counter and sink.
after a moment of practically steaming within, she pushed herself from the wall and abruptly stepped in front of the nazi, pushing him back a little with her sharp cutting shoulder. "that's enough. don't touch her." jessi turned her back to the nazi and rested both of her hands on cassie's shoulders, looking straight into her friend's eyes warmly.
"come on. we're leaving now. jared?"

Hannah-Nora opened her eyes. They were rimmed with sleepy crust, but after a few exaggeratedly bats of her eyes—mostly to Kevin, who was snoring his fat face off a moment ago, and from here she could see a thin line of dried drool running down his face—she could officially see. Immediately, the indefatigable child rushed to her feet and scuttled away from Adam. Even though he looked somewhat like Kevin, even though he was related to Kevin, the vibes she got were terrifying: terrifying enough to keep her mouth shut, and this one non-reaction was something that needed attention.
In the kitchen, she scooted behind Quinn and Kevin, muttering something about parrots and Quakers. She took a high seat by the table and heard something about a pizza. Hold the phone. A pizza? Her ear twitched with excitement. “Uh… um, Kev-on? I… um,” her mouth filled with saliva, overflowing. She dared to swallow. “I’d… like, um, a part of dat pee-zuh. I so hungry I almost throw up hungry. Yep. Hungry.” She nodded her furry little head in emphasis. Her stomach growled, a deep noise that she tried to tuck under her denim vest. Hannah-Nora wet her lips, glancing at Adam. “You look like da de-vil,” she said quietly. Then she went on, in a hushed voice, “You had dose eyes, mon. Cweepy. Vawy vawy cweepy. And… if I might add, you kinda look like ya on drugs, as well.” She shrugged, like it was the most normal thing in the world, commenting on a guy who could potentially lay hands on you and kill you. Speaking of which, where was Lucy? Something rattled in the cubboards, like moving bowls, and her eyes shot to it. Oh dear…
The Jamaican girl turned to look at Adam. Her cheeks suddenly blazed with fury. “I ain’t gonna be used like some child, uh-uh,” she wagged her finger in the boy’s face. “I a woman and I gonna be respected like one, or I gonna neuter you, uh-huh!” She bore her fangs, hissing dismay. Then, jutting her chin high in the air, she declared, “I read vibes from people and I don’t like what I getting’ from ya!”

Micah woke to somebody kicking him. He groaned, tired, and definitely not expecting himself to wake. Had… hadn’t--? But no. He had somehow made it through the fall out. The African-American boy peeked an eyebrow open, surprised, but then instantly scowling again. That was the constant look. The scowl. The hate for this world and for every victim it claimed. He hated this. He hated it so bad that even the idea of somehow “getting out” was a daring chance he wanted to take. And maybe he would. Somehow, someday. But right now, despite him hating it, he needed to help. And why? Because he knew what was going to happen next.
He rose to his feet and, seeing Jack, nudged him with his foot. “Wake up,” he said sourly. “The fall out’s over and the sun is shining. How do you like that?” He rubbed a hand across his face, harshly, and then smacked his mouth a bit. His mouth fell into a scowl again. He limped over to the stack of water, grabbed a bottle and cracked the seal. Luke-warm liquid ran down his tongue, wetting his scratchy throat and depriving it of the alcohol residue having been taken the morning before. What he’d do for some liquor…

“At least I didn’t suffocate in the middle of the night.” Cassie sniffed, emphasizing her stuffy nose. Dried bloody, a rusty red color, streaked around her nose and a thin trail left part of her lip stained. She sighed. Even now it felt bruised, terribly so, but at least she figured it wasn’t broken. Though it hurt even to breathe. She stumbled to her feet, glancing around the room. Morning light poured in from the crack under the door.
In a moment, they were all gathered out into the kitchen and she, taken by the Naz--… Karsten. It was getting easier to remember his name, but the habit of calling him the infernal “Nazi” was still a tendency. Anyway, Karsten took her over to the sink and began washing away the dried blood. She blushed, a little, and not in shyness, but rather embarrassment that some guy was cleaning her nose. And it was so stuffy as well. Her eyes narrowed with awkward curiosity—seeing as she couldn’t do much else rather than let him mother her—her mind off somewhere between pondering when she had last plucked her nose hairs and when the last time she had some guy looking down her nostrils.
“Thanks,” She said, her mouth twisting into that strange smile—it wasn’t a smile smile, but rather a frown. She rubbed her neck awkwardly. “I don’t normally thank people for cleaning my nose. Um…” Her eyes traveled down to his waist. “Can I have my gun back?” It wasn’t like she was going to shoot him; last night had just been some bluffing warning. All she had wanted was Jessi back in her care, despite the chick’s rude behavior with strangers.
And then Karsten fell down to his knee. Her eyes went wide, quickly kneeling. “Holy crud and I thought you were the only stable one of all of us… C’mon, tell me what just happened. Are you… you know, okay? Like… y’want a cup of water?” Her mouth went dry and she quickly stood, grabbed a glass and filled it with water, shoving it in his face. Despite her own wounds, she couldn’t help but instantly know that this guy needed some help. Whatever… his… um, power—and stating this in her mind was hard, a very hard reality to accept—it didn’t always work according to his plan. Then Jessi came, putting a hand on her shoulder. Cassie looked up, raising an eyebrow. “Even though my Russian friend doesn’t really like boys,” she ground out, staring directly at Jessi. “I think that because you have a tape—“ she held up a hand, shaking the tape he had given her the day before, “—and I have a tape—“ she shook her other hand, filled with her camera, “—I think it’s necessary to say we have some work to do.”

The swift, fluid twirl of a silver dollar between four thin, rough fingers, catching a glimpse of light deep within the material, went cold and still. Mars raised his gaze.
It hadn’t been the fact that he had insomnia that kept him awake; it was the fact that He. Knew. Everything. Perhaps the Coates shrink, Mr. Pebbleburkes, had been right about some things. Torment kept you awake. But it wasn’t that he felt tormented; rather, possessing an understanding beyond human capacity and emotion. It struck a chord with him, and he couldn’t just shake that loose.
It was early morning and from his position, sitting on the ground with his legs kicked out in front of him, leaning back against a wall, he could watch everything. People lay asleep, snoring; some, in the middle of the night, waking. It had been a little girl with big blonde pig tails that woke, asked him for a glass of water and, when he didn’t answer, sat there and stayed up with him in his solemn silence. Now he cast his dark eyes, trimmed with silver, to see her expectant face. “You don’t sleep much, do you?” She whispered, now having got his attention.
Mars shook his head. “No,” he muttered, shifting a little. His eyes floated back to the coin.
“Why not?”
His fingers snapped shut around the silver dollar. Heaving a sigh, he rolled his eyes. “Because I think too hard on the past, and how many little talkative girls I’ve killed.” Then he smiled a cold smile that turned the girl’s face white. Then he scoffed quietly to himself and turned away.
It was then when the doors burst open and Mars was instantly on his feet, grasping the pistol tucked away at his lower back. The little girl darted behind him, a looming figure that could keep her safe. Right.
The intruder wasn’t who he expected. It was Marjorie, that blonde. At least she wasn’t as irritating as Scarlet, or, worse, Amanda. He smiled dully, putting away the pistol. “Nice to see you,” he commented dryly. He jutted his chin toward the door. “I take it the rain’s stopped, or your pretty little face would be quite an terrible mess by now. God would even gag.” The Scottish boy turned, arms crossed, to Drew to see what he made of it. He raised a dark eyebrow. “So what now, Drew-Drew?” He imitated Amanda’s voice and then snapped back to his own, a deep husk. “You have this town wrapped around your finger. What’s next?” He darted a look at Scarlet, with her awful red hair.

Mia had found shelter in an abandoned shop. No, rather, she'd been pulled to shelter just a few drops of rain started to fall. She landed hard on the concrete floor, looking up to a pair of exasperated blue eyes. "Honestly, girl, don't you know a radioactive storm when you see one?" The loud, scratchy voice was accompanied by a laugh, and before Mia could focus her eyes they had disappeared. The bewildered teenager pushed herself onto her hands so she could see. Rain pattered against the windowpane, and there were a few other kids hanging around. No adults, again. No one came to talk to her, which the extroverted girl just couldn't understand, but everyone seemed sort of... hostile. Scary. If anyone talked they were answered with a grunt or a sharp word or two, then silence reigned. Everyone was watching the window, the rain which was now hammering against it. It was scary and Mia was scared. She shuffled into the far corner of the shop and curled up into a ball, flinching every time a particularly hard gust of wind hit the door or the thin sheet of glass bent under the pressure. A few people were crying quietly. Mia should've stayed in the house. That was the thought that slowly but surely lulled her to sleep; that and the almost rhythmic booming of the thunder. Should've stayed at home should've stayed at home should've stayed at- oh that's a pretty unicorn...

~ oh look a mysterious time skip ~

xx When Mia awoke the next morning- she was shocked she'd slept through the night- the shop was empty. The street outside was almost dry, and all hints of the storm were all but gone- except some of the wreckage which she tried not to look at. She groaned and stretched, her knuckles scratching against the grey wall behind her. She frowned, rubbing at her hand as she stood up and started moving lithely towards the door. Sure, they'd all left, but they'd probably just had something important to do, right? Mia knew they wouldn't leave on purpose! That would just be... mean. Still, now sleepy time and unicorns were over. Se had to find someone who would actually talk to her, and someone who would explain what was going on. She was being forward, purposeful. It was fun!
xxx She'd been walking down the damp streets for only a few minutes when she happened upon a house that looked somewhat interesting. Actually, no, it didn't look interesting at all, but she could hear voices and she didn't want to walk alone for much more, the brunette was used to being permanently surrounded by people. She carefully made her way to the front door of the house, but paused short of just opening it and walking on in. She somehow couldn't see that being accepted. So, she made her way around the side, following the voices, and finally happened across a pair of glass doors. There were a few people sitting inside what must have been the kitchen. Three boys and a tiny girl. She smiled- people! finally!- before knocking on the glass door. One of the boys, sitting with his back to her, practically fell off his seat. He twisted to look, and quickly opened the door. "Jayzus, Mary and Joseph, don't do that! We're living in difficult times! You could be a murderer! Wait, are you?' The Irish boy scrutinized her with narrowed eyes, and Mia pushed her hand through her hair before laughing. "Oh, no! I'm not a murderer, I don't think so, anyway! Oh, gosh, there's a lot of you hi, I'm Mia I come from just outside town and there's like no adults so if someone could explain that to me that would be so super fantastic and wow," she stopped to take a gasping breath, "You don't have to, though like anything that's okay with you!"
Irish Boy stared for a while, blinking, before turning and looking over his shoulder at one of the dark haired boys. "Did you understand anything of what she just said?"

Scarlet had passed out soon after her mysterious energy burst. The adrenaline had left as soon as it came, leaving her feeling exhausted. She practically collapsed in a corner of the basement once Mars had dragged her out of harm's way- cute- and had slept through the night, sprawled out with her arms hooked awkwardly around her head. Now, someone was poking at her shoulder. They had to poke for a good two minutes before she could finally draw herself from the murky depths of her unconsciousness. "What?" The snarled word itself should've been enough to put the boy off, but instead he took it as an invitation to give her help to stand up that she didn't want. "Sorry, I just thought you should know that Drew and Mars and everyone are up and discussing things and I thought you'd want to join." He was babbling. She hated babbling. "Why should I care, Brian?"
The boy's face fell. 'My name's Bram.'
"Bram? What sort of name is Bram? What, did your parents miss one letter off Bran? Is that what that is? That's sad, Bram, you should change your name to Brian."
Her back was killing her and she really couldn't be bothered with the boy's babbling, so she walked off without ending the conversation. She tried not to hobble as she walked over to the small group forming beside their 'leader', and she moved to stand beside Mars, rubbing the back of her neck carefully as she tried to work the kink out of it. "So, Drew," she finally began lazily, breaking through whoever was talking- she didn't care enough to notice, "should we expect a marriage announcement from you and Amanda anytime soon? Because I'd just adore being bridesmaid at that little ceremony. What do you think, Amanda? She tilted her head at Amanda, smirking slightly. In all truth, she felt a little sorry for her. Drew was handsome, he was powerful, and he could feign kindness. Lots of girls had already fallen in love with him; she couldn't blame Amanda. She'd realize, hopefully, how much of a manipulating spider he actually was, and then Drew could be left alone forever. Or, at least, he'd be alone until Scarlet could pick him up and play with him again, like an old toy. She let her eyes linger a little longer on Drew than was maybe needed- such fun- and then turned her gaze to Marjorie. "Oh, great, finally, someone sane. Welcome back, we've all gone crazy since you left." She accentuated the words by spinning her finger beside her left temple. "Ca. Ra. Zey." She laughed at herself and let her arms fall back to her sides, letting out a quiet groan at the pain that seemed to spike. That was the last time she was sleeping. Ever. It caused too much problems.

Drew studied the figures that approached the tightening circle they all happened to huddle together in. Amanda to his left, Marjorie to his right, Mars in front of him and Scarlet standing by his side quite closely. It was like a crowd, expecting something completely amazing from him. He wasn't all too awake, still in a groggy feeling, but he could deal with it. Drew slowly fumbled his hands on his tie and shirt, straightening them both with his rough finger tips.
Drew cast a shallow look over to Amanda and edged to her, resting a on her lower back. "Everything is fine. Just a little ... Hmm ... difficulties?" He smiled apologetically but brushed it away after a moment.
He didn't respond to Scarlet's minimizing words, just gave her a small, practiced skeptical smile with a slight tilt of his head, sizing her up in his way of sorts. A nice chunk of his black hair swept over his chocolaty dark eyes. He was shockingly not being his domineering bullying self. Quite surprising, even to him. Maybe he had a bit of human decency. Just a bit, though.
Drew's eyes flickered in the dim light, quickly glancing down to meet Marjorie's features, though his eyes snapped straight to empty space again. Scarlet's words made him a little uneasy but he didn't show it, just kept his cool. "Don't be absurd, Scarlet." He hissed, his gaze cutting through her. "Marsden, I need you to go to the sheriff's office. I'll meet you there and we can discuss preparations." Drew said coldly with his voice quite low and raspy. He cocked his head to Mars, a motion for his henchman to scuttle along. "Also, we'll need all of these kids out of here and then all supplies and food rationed." He appended, snapping his finger as he gazed down at the floor, obviously deep in thought. Things swarmed around in his brain and the chatter of girls around him was like bees buzzing. It wanted so badly to give him a headache but he forced it from his mind.
He moved away from them all, outside the crowd group they had going, and inhaled a long breath. He was tired and slightly overwhelmed by it all. Though, he didn't show it. He turned, putting on a small brave face, which was soon replaced by his true arrogance that sheered over him like a silk curtain. He cleared his throat, wet his lips, and then laced his fingers together behind his back as he looked carefully over the three young feeble girls that were quite close to him. "Girls, girls," Drew started, a smug smirk tugging at the side of his mouth. "Scarlet. I need you to do me a favor. Take my new founded friend here and Marjorie, and go to the store. Take as many kids willing to follow as you can. Divide them into two groups: one group we are certain that has... are talented in sorts of tricks. Others who are normal. Then wait for me, alright? Send the normal kids to the Sheriff's office with food and supplies. Can you handle this, or do you need Mars to help you round up the troops?" Drew was only a few inches from her face, his eyes alight in a small way. There was no way Scarlet couldn't handle anything. So, without her answer, he said
"Now go."

Rose walked for quite a while. She was a little nervous – as the storm on the beach had her on edge. What the heck had been going on there? She’d heard kids squealing, and that didn’t mean anything good. Eyes bouncing around the neighborhood, Rose tried to decide which house she’d enter. A few of them had caught fire, and there was always the possibility that someone was still inside: and if that was the case, then she’d be busting down someone’s door that might not take too kindly to strangers. Drawing in a shaky breath, Rose settled on a house down the road. Picking up her pace, Rose jogged toward the front door, looking around quickly for any signs of occupancy.

Giving the door knob a big tug, Rose was surprised to find it unlocked. Pursing her lips, she snuck in through the small crack, not bothering to shut it. Curling her fingers into claws, Rose ignited a tiny fire in the palm of her hand, ready to defend if she had to. Drawing in a breath to hold it in her longs, Rose poked her head around the wall, seeing a girl standing in her kitchen. She froze, eyes wide as she stared at the back of her head.

Anastasie turned suddenly, as the door was opened. She squinted her eyes, and looked through the darkness. Anastasie didn't see anything. She backed up into the laundry room, and turned into her father. He was a tall, fit man. He could probably beat down someone easily. Anastasie walked out, and looked around again. She walked towards the living room slowly. She gripped the machete in her hand tightly, as she walked. She wasn't ready for anything, but she was alone, and had to learn. Anastasie stopped by the fridge, and felt very hungry. She opened it, and looked for food. There was a load full, as normal. Anastasie kept glancing over the door, as she looked for something to eat.
