Kacey had seen Kat grab up the skates, a small smile rising to her pursed lips. Kacey didn't say anything to encourage her. From Kacey's point of view Kat needed to get a little bit braver and make more decisions for herself without being encouraged. Kacey slipped her cooling hands into her coat pockets, slowing down to contemplate for the loss of balance and ability to catch herself if she did actually fall. Kacey's ears were starting to get cold but that didn't bother her. When they would walk back the way they came they would be walked with the wind to their backs. Kacey slid back and forth, like she was pacing in a large oval, but she was just giving Kat her decision space.

Kat decided to go for it. Tying the mask tightly on her face, she made sure her coat was on properly and walked slowly to the edge of the rink. The way she had to walk felt weird, but she put a confident look on her face. She wouldn't get anywhere if she 'stood on the sidelines'.
Like she would do the occasional times she skated, she carefully put on foot out, and then shifted her weight on this foot. It was way more slippery then skating on cement, or something similar, so she locked her legs in place, moving forward from the propulsion from getting on the ice. She pushed her right foot out to give her more force.
Of course, being new, she wasn't amazing; she traveled in a straight line and fell over when she tried to stop. She sighed. "Do you skate often? You're really good." She said, attempting to get up again.

Kacey nodded expressionlessly "I get annoyed by people I have to associate with a lot; thankyou" she said, pausing to think about how she might as well name of a couple people at the top of the list. "Neighbours, their children, their pets, parents, siblings and a guy who thinks he's married to me" She sighed. "Weird right?" she slowed down so she could skate beside Kat until Kat gained her momentum. Kacey shifted. Kacey was wondering what on earth she was doing, why was she being this nice? She can't be nice, she was acting she knew it, but it felt so real. Her eyebrows furrowed and she glanced around.

Kat didn't let her discomfort show when Kacey mentioned getting annoyed at people she had to associate with a lot. Did that mean she was hiding annoyance for Kat? Was this her way of showing? Kat got up from the ice and smiled, anyway, at Kacey as they skated along each other. "Yeah," She answered to Kaceys question. "It's weird he thinks he's married to you, but not weird that your annoyed at people like that. What did you do to make him think he was married to you?" She asked curiously, then attempted a turn. It was a bit unbalanced, and it made her heart race, but she was getting better.

"I moved in across the street" she said kicking off with her right foot then extending her leg kind of like a ballerina, but bringing her upper body down so she was almost face to face with the ice. "I got there and he was sitting in his porch, he started randomly talking to me before he called me the wrong name and told me to stop helping them, which was actually me, move in. I think he's in a home now" she said, shifting around before she stood up straight again. Kat wasn't annoying her, company was nice for a change. "Are you easily annoyed?" she asked her. If Kat had some supernatural power maybe Kacey could point it out by asking questions, first she was trying to see if it was anything like her own. Probably not, Kacey knew no one like her at all, not even personality wise.

Kat watched Kacey; she was really good on the ice! "Well, I don't get annoyed really, except for a few things." She murmured, focusing on moving her feet again, and keeping up with Kacey so she didn't slow her down. "I really don't like pointless things. Like, petty, shallow things. Like... who's pretty, and who's ugly. That's completely pointless. You can't measure 'ugliness' can you? It's a made up concept by humans to what looks 'aesthetically' pleasing in their eyes." She winced slightly; her father was always fond of philosophical things, he wrote some books on his theories, and it passed down to Kat. Her father wanted her to be an author, but mother said no, thinking she had a bigger say in Kat's future. That was one of the things that drove Kat away. Kat frowned, bitterly, staring ahead. "And the only other things that annoy me are... people who think they are better then you, as in having something that makes them better. It's annoying because... It's a silly display of dominance. They can't see... who is better then who... I'm confusing myself," She said, suddenly shy. "Any way, um" She swallowed, searching for something to say, to change the topic perhaps, or make it less confusing, less weird. Kacey, what did she think? Was she rethinking about her decision to talk to Kat? Kat reached behind her head and tightened her mask strings, pushing her nervousness away.

"You have a very good point, I personally don't let stuff like that bother me" Kacey watched her tighten up the mask. Kacey could feel something was kind of up with her. Kacey was kind of staring at her but only staring at her to figure something out. She was trying to see if Kat's appearance would change. Kacey tilted her head slightly, looking up at the dark night sky. Kat had something supernatural about her, Kacey knew that for sure just by the was she was acting. Kacey knew not one normal people who had acted like that. Kacey had acted like that, nervous, hard a making decisions when she talked to other people before she discovered her complete ability, now she was rather outgoing because she didn't fear anyone else. She was fear. Kacey glanced over at her again. "Your masks a stress reliever, does it prevent fear too?"

Kat slowed down slightly as she took the mask off. "Perhaps. If I was to... psychoanalysis my liking for masks, I'd say it's almost like a shield, so I guess, it could prevent fear. I just have to have the right mask; the right mask for the personality that I want to be. Really, I don't know. It's just a mask. I just have an obsession with them; like you and your... smoking, right? Haven't we all got some coping mechanism we use? Every one hurts every one else, so we need something to hold onto, it's rare to find someone that understands, right? ... Though it's probably just me." Kat looked at the ground, before quickly putting the mask on, then put on a smile as she thought. Kacey wanted to know about fear? Was Kat correct then, about Kacey manipulating her fear to get of the ice, earlier? It's not impossible, but what did it all mean, then? Should she tell Kacey?

Kacey caught Kat's look even with a mask. Kacey had caught Kat getting her hint. Kat knew she was supernatural too. Kacey glanced away form Kat's glance and looked around. She was trying to figure out how to figure out what Kat's ability was. Maybe Kat was good at judging people. Kacey was deep in thought. Kacey was guessing there was a chance Kat would start asking her questions, but she didn't really care. Kacey could probably figure out a way to scare her off asking some. Kacey liked her mean self. Kacey scratched the side of her nose nonchalantly. She looked back at Kat when she mentioned smoking. "You have very good points" she pointed out, smoothing down the hair pulled back in her bun.

"I do?" Kat saw this as a chance to get on lighter subject, but she wasn't sure if she should or not. What if this is a opportunity, an open door to finally meet someone like her? But, if it wasn't... Besides, by getting close to people was a weakness, but on the other hand, it could be a strength.
While Kat appeared innocent to Kacey, Kacey didn't seem to have much of a emotion towards innocence. She had likely already seen the slight inconsistency of it. And if she looked any closer, Kacey might know that it is 'wrong'. So, really, it was either tell her or leave her; and she didn't particular want to leave this clearing that Kacey said she could stay in, a bit ago. And she didn't particularly want to leave Kacey, either. She was one of the few people she had ever had a conversation with, excluding her parents. Could Kacey be considered a... friend?
"Kacey, If you say no, I wont be ... upset or anything, but do you consider me as a friend; or at least someone you enjoy talking to, who doesn't... annoy you?"
