Kacey glanced over at Kat, not taking long to think about what cat had asked her. Kacey nodded "That would be fine" she said. Kacey fixed the black gloves that covered her fingers and shifted to one side on the narrowing path to give enough walking space for Kat, who in Kacey's eye didn't look like she was fully rebalanced yet. Kacey could see something different though, a slight difference in the whole girls face. Kacey didn't point it out, she figured it might be the light but every now and then Kacey glanced at her to make sure her appearance was just different looking because of the darker light. "I'm headed for a clearing at the end of the brook" Kacey could hear it under the ice while it runs under the ice six feet to her right. She wondered if Kat could hear it.

Kat nodded when Kacey told Kat they where heading to the clearing at the end of the brook, but looked curiously at Kacey from under her eyelashes. The brook was covered with ice, which was covered with snow; how did she know where the brook was? Perhaps she walked here often? Did she know how much of a stranger Kat was?
"I know I ask to many questions." Kat mumbled quietly to herself, then shook her head - then stopped when it increased her headache, and she winced. She looked up at the pale girl, a question on her tongue. Then she came to a realization.
"Did I... did I tell you my name? I can't remember," She said quietly, then looked at the ground. Kacey seemed quite smart- smarter then Kat anyway, Kacey had winter boots on! She needed a pair. If Kat had slipped into the brook, her shoes could of fallen off!
Then Kat looked around, even if Kacey knew where the Brook was, Kat didn't! She got closer to Kacey. She shivered nervously, and she wished she had something to fidget with, preferably a mask. It was getting darker, and she felt unhealthily more confident with one. She sighed when her head seemed to ache with her heartbeat, quickly turning into a migraine. "And... as well as that, I don't suppose you have any pain relief? For headaches." Kat looked up at Kacey, in curiosity and hopefulness. "For the second question, I can pay you back..."

"Your name is Kat, but I didn't introduce myself. I'm Kacey" Kacey said, glancing at her. Kacey might have told Kat her name in a hostile way at the wrong time, so she said it again anyways. Kacey did actually have a single Tylenol pill in a plastic bag in her jacket pocket, she usually did. Kacey was usually prone to headaches to. Kacey fished the small plastic bag out of her pocket and handed it to Kat. "No payback in necessary I have plenty. It's a try tablet, you won't need water" Kacey looked around almost awkwardly. Kacey wondered if Kat could figure out if others were supernatural, maybe she was. No that was crazy, Kacey knew no one else. Kacey's hands went back into her pockets as she walked, her high pony tail bobbing.

As soon as she was given the tablet she swallowed it whole; even if it did need water, Kat didn't have trouble swallowing it anyway; she had been taking them ever since she got her powers. Besides, when you are running from people, you can't be picky. It's either have it without water, or suffer the few hours it takes to find fresh, clean water.

After taking it, she realized she had stopped walking, so quickly jogged up to Kacey. The brook looked freezing back when she was about to fall into it. She then analyzed Kaceys answers. So Kat did tell Kacey her name, Ok. But if she didn't introduce herself then how did Kat know Kacey's name? Was Kat getting another power? She didn't wan't any other powers! Maybe it was just a coincidence. Kat sighed. She got too worked up for nothing, all the time.
"Where are we going?" She asked Kacey.

Kacey's eyebrows went down when Kat asked where they were going. Hadn't she already said that? Kacey looked back at her. Kat didn't appear to be very good at keeping up with people. Kacey automatically slowed down her walking speed. Maybe Kat was feeling light headed or something and just didn't have her head in the game. Kacey yawned a little before answering. "About fifty yards before we could out of the thick bush and we come to a clearing. I'm headed for a large frozen over pond on the other side of that clearing" She was headed there for skating. Originally she had forgotten why she was coming but she left two pairs of ice skates her size in a wooden chest under a log by the pony during the winter. She wasn't worried of anyone stealing it, it was lodged in pretty far and locked pretty well. Kacey also rigged it, so everyone but her and people with her were scared of it.

"Sorry, I didn't phrase my question properly. I meant more of why are we going? A pond?" Kat noticed that Kacey slowed down her walking speed; She was small for her age anyway, and her current illusion demanded she took smaller steps, plus she had the habit of stopping, which was probably why she slowed down. Perhaps Kacey wouldn't mind being a friend? Or was she already a friend? It wasn't as if Kat had a lot of experience with them.
Then, Kaceys words caught up to her. [i]A frozen pond?[i/] Before finding the village, she had past a pond, early this morning. She didn't stay too long- she stepped on something then big branches fell on her; she was lucky she didn't freeze up in shock, as she was prone to do; it might have fell on her then. It was unlucky that she had placed her bag on the other side of the lake, as she had walked round 'till whatever that thing was scared her. Was it haunted perhaps? And while she did want to get her case - or more importantly, her masks - she didn't want her... friend getting hurt, no matter how strong she looked. "W... why are we going to a pond," She repeated again. "Have you been to this... pond before?"

"I was originally coming here to take a break from daily life, ice skating. I have an extra pair of skates if you would like the borrow them" Kacey listened to Kat, thinking of a decent answer that wouldn't be too rude for her. "If I didn't own a home, I'd move to the clearing" She said. Kacey felt for the back of cigarettes in her pocket, sighing a short sigh of relief when she found out she hadn't lost them. Kacey's pace went from the slow make sure-Kat-can-catch-up walk to her normal walking speed. Kacey looked up. She could see it. The snow made it bright. The set sun still peaked out of the empty clearing. On the other side of the large post was just vast field, the sun could still be seen, casting a dim grey light on the dark world. Kacey figured about here was the boundary she had figured for evildoers, Kat was fine Kacey was focused on not scaring her.

Kat trailed behind Kacey slowly, but whatever freaked her out before was gone. Is was likely her own imagination anyway. "Just, give me a second" She quickly trotted to the lake that could be seen, then to the right of it, forgetting about the brook; besides, if the lake was hard enough to be skated on, then the brook nearest to the lake would be too. She went behind a tree, and quickly undid the illusion of snow covering it. Then she put her hand inside it and grabbed two things she hoped was socks, and the unmistakable feel of a mask. She quickly put on what turned out to be socks on - as the shoes she was wearing wasn't made for socks - then got the mask and tied it loosely round her neck.

She trotted back to Kacey thinking, over thinking, what she said. She knew Kat was homeless, but it wasn't that hard to guess. She didn't care? Perhaps she understood? And she was offering to let Kat stay here, which was becoming more and more obvious that this pond was her property, of sorts. She had a big smile on her face as she came to Kacey, but it dropped of when she remembered she couldn't skate.
"If your wondering about the mask, it's like a stress reliever thing." She said sighing to Kacey. "And I would... I want... I would rather sit out on the sidelines" She smiled anyway at Kacey. She could dance, but her mother thought skating was useless. And so it didn't happen. "I don't mind! It's your place anyway."

While Kat had gotten out her things Kacey had found the skates by the log and had brushed the snow from on top so both of them could it if needed. Kacey had taken off one boot and laced on the while figure skate, then the other. She stood up, gesturing to the log for Kat. Kacey only realized the mask then. It didn't bother Kacey the slightest bit, a stress reliever was a stress reliever, sadly Kacey's own was smoking. While Kacey slid off almost gracefully she had lit a cigarette herself. She was trying to remain at the farther side of the lake's edge to prevent the smoke from bothering Kat, out of the little goodness in Kacey's hear that remained for strangers. Kacey put out the but and tossed in into the snow before she skated back in circles. She was mildly graceful, more quick then anything.

Kat watched Kacey skate by. She wasn't like the professionals on Tv that her dad let her watch, but she was certainly experienced. Subconsciously she put the mask on, while watching Kacey go past.
It was getting darker still, and parts of the lake was hidden slightly in shadows, as the sun partly his behind the trees. But despite that, it added to the atmosphere. She looked at the pair of investigates. One of the reasons she never went ice skating when she was younger is because there was no rinks near her. However, she could do rollerblading and get mother taught her dance, so ice skating could be that different, right?

She put on the skates and tightened them, debating weather she should attempt it while watching Kacey from the corner of her eye.
