Kat's hands had been up for a bit, and lactic acid and awkwardness made her put it down. The girl looked around, then seemed to come to a decision, and looked at Kat. Suddenly, Kat froze as a creeping feeling went up her spine and she felt her throat seem to stiffen. She gulped. Something to the right of her, and to her left, seemed to grew menacingly. Kat was confused, it was like she was afraid... of the air?

Wait , was the person like her? Did she... Control fear or something? That's pretty cool, though it sparked anger towards the girl. Why did she want Kat to be frightened? Could she even control fear? Well, both answers meant talking to this person more. And that meant getting of this ice, which suited her flight instinct just fine. So she sprinted forward and ran into the girl. "Thank you, Thank you" she murmured. "My names Kat, thank you for helping me, I probably wouldn't have got of the ice otherwise!"

Kacey watched Kat as she came forward. "I'm Kacey" she said. Kacey's facial expression went from neutral to a look of partial understanding but secretiveness, Kat knew Kacey had helped her with fear. Kacey's stomach came with a nasty feeling, it felt like guilt but it wasn't, it was anxiety. Kacey was good at not showing what she was actually feeling. "Your welcome" Kacey mumbled. She paused, thinking of a question to start a time-worthy conversation with the new comer to her favorite and hidden forest trail. "What brings you here" She asked, crouching down to pick up a pebble about the size of her palm. She held it in her hand for a second before she wheeled it at the ground where the girl had laid, watching at the is collapsed in and well into a three foot deep trench of ice. The trench quickly filled with fast running frozen water. Kacey thought about how pleasant it may be to fall in it.

Marina barked as the paw came down unto her head and ripped her fur she then growled and grabbed Storm's paw as it came near her mouth she gripped it tightly with bared fangs and shook her head abruptly with force shaking Storm and ripping away at her paw.

After watching Kacey throw the pebble, and saw the fresh water flow she went over to it, she suddenly felt thirsty, and her headache was coming back. She remembered how the cold had helped her headache. Holding of answering Kacey's question - how was she gonna answer that? - she very carefully stepped over to the water, and kneeled down, and scooped it in her hands, fresh water trickling, freezing her hands. She gulped it down, then splashed it on her face and shook her head, rubbing her temples. She stood up again, and reached in her pocket for a mirror.
She quickly patted down her hair. It wasn't greasy, but it had dirt in it. She ran her fingers in her hair, golden locks falling. She wondered how it appeared to Kacey...
Kacey!

She turned around, and blushed in embarrassment. It had only been thirty seconds, but that was way too long to answer a question. She probably thought I was ignoring her! "Sorry," Kat said, "I, eh, do that sometimes." She held back a frown, she couldn't do anything right could she? And what could she say to Kacey's question? She didn't want to lie...
"I'm on a trip." She finally responded to Kacey. There! That wasn't lying. Even if it did have a few loopholes.

Kacey watched Kat. In her eyes she saw a younger teenaged girl, maybe 13 or 14. She wasn't very tall, maybe about an inch taller then Kacey. She had strawberry blonde hair and honey tanned skin. She had skinny features but she did not look weak, she just looked like what you'd describe as a more feminine girl, a small girly girl. The girl had slightly Asian looking eyes, but it was hard to tell with the dimming light of the night. It seemed to be getting even darker outside, despite the time of day to Kacey. Kacey raised an eyebrow at Kat's act. "It's okay, people do stuff" she said, trying to not sound like a hypocrite. She didn't just burst out randomly like Kat had but Kacey breaks down in anger and sadness. Kacey crossed her arms a bit, she simply turned around and went back on her way. If Kat wanted to join her, Kacey was fine with it but Kacey didn't want her to feel like she had to so Kacey was giving her the silent choice.

As Kacey turned around, Kat tilted her head, confused. Kacey walked away, and Kat shuffled slightly, nervously. Was Kacey angry with Kat? Was Kat boring Kacey? What was wrong? Was she really so rubbish at reading people, or was it just this girl - or perhaps woman, she seemed around 20 ish - in front of her?
She didn't seem hostile... well, probably not, ignoring the fact that Kacey might have purposely scared her, if she could control fear. Or maybe she couldn't and it was a side-effect of her powers. Or maybe it was just Kat. Kat was weird. Kat nodded her head, and started walking to the girl. Kacey wouldn't mind her coming, right?

Then she stopped. What if Kacey figured out she was 'weird'? What if she discovered she was hiding her true appearance! Her own parents didn't like her, if it was because of her powers, there is a chance other people wouldn't like her because of her powers... She started to turn away and walk. Then she reached the icy brook, she stopped and stared at the damage done to it; trampled snow with dirty footprints covered the ice, where there was snow, most of it had been pushed away. The hole that showed fresh water running past that was made by Kacey made for even more treacherous crossing, added to the cracked ice from the stones Kat threw earlier, and the hidden cracks underneath the snow that Kacey saved her from...
Kat had been walking for too many days to count, and no-body has talked to her. She didn't make any imprint on her surroundings; like she herself was an illusion - dismissing the illusion she had over herself - and it wasn't a nice feeling, not really. But then she met this person and it was probably the clearest thing she remembered for a long while.
Perhaps they could be friends? And, Kacey might have saved her life by moving her of the ice... That has to count for something.

So seeing that Kacey had gone a long way, she turned and ran; slipping on the ice a few times. She fell over, but got back up and to Kaceys side. It was turning dark, and she had no where to go anyway.
"Can I come with you?" Kat asked. She wondered if Kacey would ask any more questions, Kat knew she had been acting strange.
