Hello, lovelies! The name is Melanie Dakota Sambora. That's right! Sambora. As in the guitar God Richie Sambora. Haha. Anyway. The name Melanie is ironically Greek for black, dark skinned. Ha! How did I get that name? My dad told me he just felt it was the right name for me. Way to go Dad. My name means the opposite of what I am. Anyway. The name Dakota is Native American for the allies. Interesting, huh? Fun fact coming your way! Native Americans usually are named by the wisest group, the elders. They are usually named after something in nature. Sorry. Getting off track here. Sambora? It means great fisher. Coincidently, none of us Samboras can fish. We never have and I don't think we'll ever try. My age? Well, my friend, I'm not going to tell you. That is for me to know and you to never find out. Unless you remember the day that my birth was announced, it is none of your freaking business. Just kidding! Thanks to the press, it is world-widely known that I am a young eighteen years old. Yes, I am legally an adult. My poor dad. On the day I turned eighteen, my dad looked at all of us and said, "I'm getting too old." That's my dad for you. He's the life of the party. My gender? God! Is it really that hard to tell? I think it is clear that I am indeed a female. I have the right anatomy and it is clearly written on my birth certificate, declared rightfully by the doctor who delivered me into this world. I don't look many ... do I? Oh. That? Well. I guess I'm pretty. I mean, I have been modeling since I was about three years old and I'm Richie Sambora's daughter. Does that give you anything? Well then. I am tall at a comfortable 5'9. My dad is 6'0 1/2 and my mom is 5'5. Yeah. I got my height from my father. Like my father, I have long dark brown hair. It is straight, but I curl it most of the time. Again like my dad, I have dark brown eyes. Yeah. I look nothing like my mother. Do I? No. Of course not. I don't know why. I got my looks from my father and I am quite comfortable knowing that. I share no resemblence with my sister, Ava, either. She got Mom's looks. I am really surprised by this, but my father let me get a nose ring. All I did was ask him once and he was like, "That's all right with me." Cool. But that's all I'm getting. I might get a tattoo on my arm with the Sambora family crest with my dad and sister's name underneath it. My dad calls me wild child. I'm all right with that. First of all, I am a loud mouth. I really am. I will speak my mind and usually nothing can stop me unless someone covers my mouth. But then I end up biting or licking their hand ... ha! Anyway. I am violent. Say anything about me, I can suck it up and just say that you are just jealous. Say something about my friends, "uncles", or sister and you're dead meat. I will hunt you down. I do not tolerate it. I am a party animal. Mostly because my dad and "uncles" are party animals and they have parties after every single tour they do. Sometimes they just have a party to have a party. I will go to any party so long as there is no alcohol or drugs. I may be a rock 'n' roller's daughter, but I don't like drinking underage and I don't want to do drugs. My dad respects me for waiting until I'm 21 to drink. Anyway. I do have an attitude. So please don't cross the line. My attitude is very horrible when I'm ticked off. It's better if you just leave me alone. If I seem depressed, leave me alone. Don't ask me what's wrong. It'll take too long to explain. It's better if you just leave me in a room alone with a guitar. I take most of my anger out in music, so I don't usually get into fights. Despite all of that, my friends say I'm a pretty sweet girl. I am if you don't get on my bad side. I was born on Valentine's Day of 1995 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to Rock 'N' Roll guitar legend Richard Stephen "Richie" Sambora and actress Heather Locklear. I am the oldest of two daughters. I was born two months before my dad went on his These Days tour with his band. Mom had to stay home to do a movie, so Dad took me on his tour with him. That's how it was for the next twelve years. Ava was born when I was two years old. She was Mommy's girl. I was Daddy's girl. That's why when Dad had to go on tour, Dad took me. Ava would beg to stay home with Mom, so we left her at home while I travelled with Dad, "Uncle" Jon, "Uncle" David, and "Uncle" Tico. My parents didn't get along too well because of this. So, on April 11, 2007, they got a divorce. Dad was devastated. He started drinking a lot. He wasn't an angry drunk. He was more of a depressed drunk. Just nine days later, Grandpa died from lung cancer. That made it worse for Dad. On June 7, 2007, Dad entered rehab and I went to go stay with "Uncle" Jon. He got out and I went back under his care. Dad kept apologizing. I wasn't mad at him at all. I was just glad to have him home again. Dad and I have a very close relationship. We're all we've got with the exception of occassional spend the weekends from Ava and Jon, Tico, and Lemma. We call "Uncle" David Lemma. Don't know why. That's just his nickname. The following year on March 26, 2008, Ava, Ava's friend, and I were in the car with Dad. He was drunk. Luckily we didn't get in a wreck. He was pulled over and arrested. Ava, her friend, and I had to go to Tico's house. Dad wasn't arrested but was fined $390, placed on probation for three years, and was required to attend a driver's education course. On April 28, 2011, Dad went right back to rehab. I continued to tour with Jon, Tico, and Lemma. They would allow me to call Dad every night. He told me he missed me and that he was going to be back soon. He came back in June that year while we were in Zagreb, Croatia. I was so happy to see him. I love Dad so much. I have had a few relationships. The first one I had was when I was twelve going on thirteen. His name was Tylor. I wasn't attracted to him at all. I just felt bad because he got made fun of a ton in school. It was absolutely horrible. He asked me out a week before my birthday, which is also my birthday. For my birthday, he gave me a stuffed reindeer with the year written in yarn in its antler with a bag of small candy canes tied to its arm. It was a really sweet gift. He never came to my house. We just kept our relationship at school. He was cool with that. Dad knew about it. He said it was cute. Of course, I was embarrassed about my dad finding it cute. On the same day he asked me out the next year, I had my friend break up with him for me. I didn't want to hurt him. I felt so bad. But, he was fine with the breakup. I felt so bad about it I actually cried when I got home. Dad comforted me though. I love my dad. The second boyfriend I had was when I was 13. His name was Zack. During our relationship, we didn't really talk much. We were on and off for several months. Dad was a little ticked with this relationship because one time I'd come home and say I had a great time with my boyfriend then the next time come home crying saying we broke up. I finally broke it off with him when I found out he was cheating on me with a girl that I've known since I was in third grade. Dad, "Uncle" Jon, "Uncle" Tico, and "Uncle" David made me feel better about it. The next boyfriend I had was the next year when I was fifteen. His name was Josh. I didn't even know him. We were just set up at a skating rink by a mutual friend. The relationship started off fine. Then he started controlling me, telling me who to hang out with and who to not hang out with. He started mentally and emotionally abusing me. He was three years older than I was. One day, "Uncle" Tico saw me outside underneath a tree with my guitar. He came out and noticed I was red in the face and crying. He asked me what was wrong and I told him that Josh cheated on me with a girl who was six years younger than himself (making her three years younger than me). Not only was she six years younger than him, but I also knew her because she was Ava's best friend and we went to elementary school together. He was furious, but helped calm me down. The last boyfriend I had was when I was 17, which was last year. His name was Alex. He was the sweetest guy ever. He played the guitar and could sing. He serenaded me at the homecoming dance. We dated for a good five months before he broke the news that he was moving to Washington. I haven't had a boyfriend since. My father is obviously Richard Stephen "Richie" Sambora, Rock 'n' Roll guitar God legend and guitarist of Bon Jovi. He was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on July 11, 1959. My dad's old! Just kidding. Just kidding. He's not that old. He doesn't really talk about his parents much. So I have no clue what Grandma and Grandpa did for a living. Dad went to high school at Woodbridge High School in Woodbridge, New Jersey. He was interested in joining Jon's band and went to watch them perform somewhere. At that moment, he said, "I'm going to be your guitarist." And boom. Guitarist of one of the most beloved bands of all time. He is 6'0 1/2 with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a great personality. He's a very nice guy and has a great sense of humor. My mom is actress Heather Locklear. She was born on September 25, 1961 in Westwood, California. There's not much I want to say about her, really. As you can tell, I'm not really fond of my mother. I've been spending my whole life with my father. What do you expect? She's 5'5 with blonde hair and blue eyes. I don't have any real uncles, but Dad is so close to his band, they practically call themselves brothers. Hence why I call Jon, Tico, and David "uncle". Tico's the oldest member of the band, having been born on October 7, 1953 in New York. He's the drummer of the band. David is the third oldest of the band, having been born on February 7, 1962 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He is the keyboardist of the band. At times, he does the lead vocals on "In These Arms". Jon's the youngest member of the band, having been born on March 2, 1962 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He's the lead singer and (at times) co-guitarist of the band. Also when Tico is doing the lead vocals of "Only In My Dreams", he'll take over on the drums.
