~Rory Azar - District 3~
The bright red-haired girl finished out with what appeared to be the hardest part of the simulation. Three attackers coming at once. One from the left and at an above, upper angle, the second coming head on, running full tilt at her from the right, and finally, one slowly trying to creep up on her from behind. The one up top had a bow, the one behind, two knives, the one to the right, an axe. There was no time to think about what the correct battle move would be, or she would be 'dead' so to speak. So she did not think. She just acted, or rather reacted, to the dangers surrounding her.
TWANG came the sound of her bow's string as she let an arrow fly, impaling the other archer right in between his eyes, his holographic mouth open in a horrified yet silent scream. Swirling around, as she notched another arrow, she let it fly towards the attacker with an axe, right in the wrist, making him lose the weapon. And again, this time right through the heart, causing the pixels to scatter as he was destroyed. And now the last one. Upon the 'deaths' of his comrades, the man who had been slowly creeping towards her had broken into a run, seeking to stab her either in the neck or back, but he never got that chance. Falling to his knees, the arrow lodged itself deep within his throat, and even though the person wasn't real, Rory could practically see what would be blood gurgling out of his throat before he evaporated.
Shaking her head lightly, the girl left he simulation, feeling eyes on her but not bothering to look for who they were as she hung up the bow, as well as the arrows. Finally looking around, her baby blue eyes noticed that the careers already had joined together, as well as picked a few others to be their pawns. Never would she fall for their tricks. Continuing her look, she spotted a boy, tall and older, muscular and strong, at least in appearance, in the Scythe section, and she watches as he had at it with the dummies. Perfect. Someone good with the more close range but still weapon using fighting, for she was best at the long distance and hand on hand type things. Approaching him, she waited until he was finished before speaking to Jeremy. "Your really good. What's your name?"

Rey Fox :: District Ten :: Remembering

Rey heard the call for all the tributes to go to the evaluation center after he'd been to a bunch of the survival tables. He grunted and finished the knot he was working on. It was what he usually used for lassos, an adjustable knot that, when the rope was tightened, could hold a bull in his prime.

Satisfied that the knot was done, he started to walk over to the evaluation center and took his place in line. He hadn't felt like talking with anyone else there, and he hadn't seen the other District Ten tribute around.

He sighed. With no one to talk to and nothing to do while he waited, his thoughts drifted to his brother Jed. That stupid Reaping...

Rey watched stone-faced as the unlucky girl went up to the stage. Getting called on Reaping day was never lucky. He cracked his knuckles, not really paying attention to anything. He had just as much a chance as anyone his age, and Jed had even less of a chance. They were fairly safe.

"And now for the boys," the ditz in charge of District Ten's Reapings said as she walked over to the bowl of names. Rey gave the Capital woman a glance before he focused intently on his fingers, cracking each one individually. They were still covered in blood from the cow he'd been skinning before they went to the square. He hadn't had time to clean himself off before hand.

He noticed Jed fidget to the side, and he put a comforting hand on his brother's shoulder and gave him a small smile.

"Thanks, big bro," Jed whispered. Jed always called Rey "big bro," even though only fifteen minutes separated them.

The Capital woman dove her hand into the bowl of names, pretending to fish around for what she always called "just the perfect name", and she finally picked a name and walked back over to the microphone. "This year's male tribute is Jedidiah Fox."

Rey's stomach dropped, and his face fell. "No..." he whispered. More forcefully this time, he said it again. "No."

Jed's eyes widened. "Big bro?"

The Peacekeepers were moving towards them, and Rey only had time for a short hug. "Sorry, Jed," he murmured.

He stepped in between his twin brother and the Peacekeepers and, in the loudest voice he ever used, he calmly stated, "I volunteer as tribute."

Rey leaned back against the training center wall and willed the memory away. He hoped Jed wouldn't have to watch him. Even if Rey didn't make it, at least Jed would be okay.

Aleks bit his lip looking around the room, "Mariska, my district." He said looking at Denali then the district ten boy in confusion. "My this piece of garbage." He peered in to the District ten boys eyes like a hawk scouring for food. Aleks turned his head to where the where the head game maker and other people from the capitol stood. Their smiles and smirks filled the room as they talked on with one another. Evaluation. He turned his head back to the careers and the district ten boy, fast. "They're about to start evaluation." He said mumbling to the other careers and the boy. Aleks didn't like this district ten boy. If anything he would be the careers pet.. Someone to push around and have do stupid ridiculous stuff for them, like hunting. District 10 was all around livestock, and if anyone he would be the one to know what animals to hunt and capture. And maybe also what animals were dangerous. Aleks rolled his cobalt eyes once again looking around. Where is Mariska his eyes searched the room for his district partner, but couldn't find her.

Denali pointed across the room to Rey; a boy from district 10. "Him." She glanced at Aleks and clenched her jaw. "Yes, I'm an Odair. Don't think I wouldn't kill you." She smirked slightly playful and nudged him arm with a seductive smile. And with that note, the girl from district four padded towards the boy from 10 and grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him closer to her. "Your with us." She made a quick glance at Paul and Aleks before ungripping his t-shirt and grabbing his arm and pulling him towards the career group of now four. "Possibly no one else. Maybe one more that you men pick." She demanded and cocked her head with a fake "hurry up" smile. The girl could feel the Capitol's eyes burning into her back as she dragged Rey over to the careers.

➣➣ Another boy came into the room and sat across from Eion, a look of disgust and distaste on his face. He sighed, then leaned back, looking bewildered, and Eion's eyes softened. Must be thinking of the reaping. Poor kid. "Hey," He called to Rey, cocking his head ever so slightly, his black hair falling over one soft blue-green eye. "You alright?"

The poor guy had volunteered, if he remembered correctly. The District 10 boy was obviously uncomfortable, and he didn't blame him. Just then, he was grabbed and pulled to the other tributes. With a frown, Eion recognized them as the tributes from District 2 and 4, not good. Oh no. His eyes widened a little. The careers were trying to use him as a pet, no doubt, the sick jerks. Getting up, he watched, muscles tight and fists clenched, on edge. The last thing a kid looking that depressed needed was a bunch of careers on his tails. Christ, the last thing he needed was a few careers with it out for him. So, instead of going over like he planned, he sat down, determined not to get himself a death wish this early on.

well, mariska was having a great time. hah. not. since entering the training room, the district two girl had been on her own, refusing to speak with any of the other tributes. she'd sure gotten it from her mentors, though. both had told her straight up that she had to learn to talk to people, but why should she make friends when she'd simply have to kill them off later. and so, when all of the tributes had entered the training room, mariska tygras had gone ghost. to put it simply, she sat above their heads, her gymnast skills having allowed her to easily use the available ropes to hoist herself up to the beams that ran across the ceiling of the room. from this vantage point, she had watched all of the other tributes train, unwilling to let her own special skills be known. you see, poison was a great thing, when no one was expecting it. if all of the other tributes knew she could poison their food, their water, well, they wouldn't trust her at all, now would they? with a huff, the red-head watched as her own district partner, aleks, stood beneath her perch, talking with two other tributes. to her, it seemed that he was looking for someone, and, what was that? had he said her name? cold blue eyes narrowing, mariska leaned forward as far as she could without losing her precarious balance. of course, that didn't mean gravity had changed in the least. the red-head had forgotten all about her pin and since she hadn't secured it that well earlier in the morning during her rush to get to the training room, the darned thing had come loose. mariska gave a small gasp, her had snapping out and catching... air. the pendant, her token, was falling down, and with her blasted luck it would land right on the heads of her rivals.

Ping, pang. A small object hit the ground in front of him, a pin. Aleks squinted his forsaken eyes as he picked up the golden hued pin in to his pale grasp. It was a small bow with an arrow loaded on to its string, drawled back. He had seen this token before, someone had been wearing it during the reaping. A girl, but no ordinary girl. Mariska. Aleks lifted his head up to the ceiling seeing a small muscular figure hanging on to the ropes of the ceiling. A small smirk rippled across his face as he spoke, "Nice to see you too." His cobalt eyes withered a deeper darker blue as he held the pin in his hand. "Why don't you come down from there, so we can talk." Aleks said holding the pin out to Mariska, his eyes narrowing of the thought, What was she doing up there? Spying on us? No. Hiding? She was from district two.. Surely she couldn't be hiding. Aleks shook his brunette hair and flipping it to the side with his un tampered hand, holding the gold pendant in his other hand, waiting for the girl to descend from the ceiling. Questioning is own thought he stared puzzled at the red headed girl. The careers had to stick together to survive. The more the better. But also the worst. It would be harder to kill each other in the end. In the end one person survives and sure it would be himself. His eyes wandered to the other careers and district ten then quickly back to her in a second. If they were to team with her, they would have to be careful with this girl. She could quickly betray them. But why? Why would a own career turn on one another? It was surely confusing to Aleks.
