Jeremy was about to move on to another station in the training center when he noticed someone walking up to him from the corner of his eyes. She was almost impossible to miss, with her bright red hair and dark blue eyes. He had noticed her working with the bows and arrows, and he had to admit she was pretty good. But he didn’t pay her much more attention after that. Everyone here was good at something. You had to be to survive. But his method had seemed to work. Get people to come to you, instead of going to them. His green eyes flickered to her face as he spun around to face her. She was a few inches shorter than him, so she had to look up at him slightly when speaking. He still had a smirk on his face. Almost nothing could wipe it off.

“Jeremy Matthias Lynton.” He introduced himself. “You can just call me Jeremy though.” He glanced back at the scythes when she mentioned that she thought he was pretty good. “Thanks.” He nodded. “You were handy with that bow as well.” Maybe he could form an alliance with her. He had debated on trying to join the careers when his name was first pulled from the bowl, but he knew they would just use him as their pawn. Looking over at their small group, he could already see they took their pick of the ‘lesser’ districts. He was relieved that it wasn’t him. The years where some unlucky tribute not from a career district joins the group, they always get killed off first for some stupid reason. But in order to form an alliance, he had to know her name first. He couldn’t just continue to call her ‘the red-haired girl’. That would be rude. “And you are…?”

The girl that the boy was with turned and almost ran me over. I step back quickly and watch her, wide eyed. The first tribute to speak to me. She didnt seem as intimidating as the rest, but i could always be wrong.
Im flux, district 3 I say softly not making eye contact. I hear a gasp above my head and a small object hit the ground nearby. It hits the floor with a small ting type noise. Her glance terrified me, like i saw death itself. She looked angry. She was pretty high up definitely an indication of strength. I wish i had a token. No one had given me anything for luck. My mother was the only one who visited me only to tell me to not make a fool of myself. That if i did i was to die in the arena. Im sure thats what she wanted. For me to die in the arena. It would be one less mouth to feed. I look at the girl beside me. Cassidee and then up to the redhead. I glance at the boy speaking to the girl. A career for sure. He was built like he had trained his life for this event. The careers would be perfect for allies, but on the other hand i had the urge to protect the boy who looked like my beloved brother surge. I step forward toward them.
Excuse me I mumble toward cassidee and channler. I stride toward them.

Hello. I say softly and glance up at the redhead. They definitely frightened me. But if i could make an alliance for the beginning and then break out on my own, it would be perfect.

Rey Fox :: District Ten :: Surrounded by Careers

As Rey shove his memories into a dark corner of his mind, he heard a soft voice from over in the corner, and he was about to turn towards it when some Careers walked into the room.

Rey blinked as the Careers cornered him and the girl grabbed his shirt. "You're with us," the district four girl said.

Wait, what? Rey thought to himself, although he controlled his face. He wish that he'd kept the skinning knife on him, but he didn't think that killing other tributes before the game would be a good idea. Instead, he tried to take a step back as the girl let go of his shirt and dragged him over to her... allies. There were no friends in the Hunger Games.

Rey felt wary and nervous surrounded by the Careers, like a fox surrounded by wolves. "Why me?" he asked, keeping his voice carefully neutral.

He wondered what Jed would have done if he was here. And then he was glad that Jed wasn't here, because, while Rey might be a fox, Jed was a calf, and wolves won't spare a calf.

RILEY MASON
District Seven - Annoyed - No Allies

Riley grunted and got to her feet, that boy was paying no attention to her, so she decided to try and make some allies, by showing off in the hologram station with her axes. She padded into the room, and attached most of the axes to her clothing, and stepped in, setting it to the hardest level, before stepping into the area. She watched the lights flicker, before a human size orange figure came running at her, holding a sword, and with a screech, she flung one of the axes into it, and it disappeared, she heard something behind her and turned, thrusting the axe into it's body. Several suddenly came running at her and she flung three axes at them at once, and they all disappeared, suddenly she saw a light above her and flung her axe into it's body, before dive rolling to avoid an arrow, and flinging another axe. Finally, a huge hologram came at her at once and with a huge scream, she thrust it into it's chest. She took a deep breath and grinned, and said in a cocky tone, "Well that was easy." And sauntered out of the room.

She arrived back in the training center, and she sat down on the floor, taking a few deep breaths. It had been a while since she'd actually used an axe like that, so it was kind of shocking to her system. The career pack was beginning to form, which meant only one thing. She didn't have much time left to try and make an alliance. She decided she wanted at maximum two allies, any more and she wouldn't be able to emotionally cope. Riley headed over to Nero and she said to him, "We should really think about trying to get an ally."

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah, you bleed just to know you're alive

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

Do you know me?

Aleks looked over his shoulder, a boy stood there. District 3 Aleks smirked and turned to the boy in impressiveness, a non career brave enough to come up to us. How fun. He chuckled to himself softly as he began to speak, "Hey kid, what are you doing over here?"Aleks said clutching the pin in his hands, changing his position; leading on one of his legs. It was unlikely a poor district tribute would approach them. Unless, of course, they were looking for an alliance. Usually these alliances didn't last long.. Either the other tribute would be killed off by the careers or flee half way threw the games when the careers aren't looking. Aleks' eyes shot to the district 10 boy as he spoke, "Why me?", "Why you?" Aleks said in a stern voice as he scowled at the boy in anger. "Why you!?" He said grabbing the rim of his shirt, pinning him to a wall in frustrating. "You're lucky we are taking you in!" He said as a peace keeper in a pure white suit came up behind him, clutching his arm; pulling him off the district ten boy. "You better be thankful." Aleks said as he spat on the ground, pushing the peace keeper off of his arm. He was quite annoyed at this boy. The other districts barely got a chance to ally with the careers. It was a one and only chance to be somewhat safe in the games. And this boy obviously didn't get it. Aleks turned back, walking to the sword station pure anger, as he grabbed a sword off the metal cart and plunged it in to one of the harts of the dummies. He fought when he was angered.. This was the only way to satisfy is need for killing and endorsement. Slashing the dummies, with scream of terror, he suddenly came to a halt. Staring at the tons of heads and limbs on the ground he groaned and sighed. He wasn't usually angered this easily, but he also liked putting on a show for the Capitol, the game makers, and other tributes. He wanted to prove a point. That he could win.

◄█ It had seemed like minutes ago that I had just was pulled from the reaping. I remember my heart pounding and my world spinning. That sense has gone away now. I was focused, ready to train, like I have been doing for the past years of my life. This would not be the year Atlas Rainshire would die. Tributes were all moving around the training area, testing out weapons, and training with different newly learned skills. I already knew how to swing a sword and use many of the weapons there. I thought it would be a good time for me to try something knew. I went over to the knot tying station, it could come in handy. I looked around at the other tributes, some I could tell would be a little competition, but others I could take no sweat. I smirked to myself and let my gaze fall on the girl from my district. I had never really noticed her in my district, and I never really paid much attention to her until the reaping. I watched her for a few seconds and went onto tying the knots again. I got most of them down and it seemed rather easy. I stood up from the station and went over to the sword. The best way to get the other careers to accept me as part of their pack, was to show them my best skills. I picked up a sword and set myself up in front of the dummies. I pushed the button to start the simulation. Different shapes moved towards me and I struck each one down with my sword. They all fell to the ground in multiple pieces. I looked at them in satisfaction and smiled, putting my sword back on the rack.

mariska was grumbling all the way as she stood on the beams, walking across them effortlessly. when she made it to the ropes, she slithered down them, taking her dear sweet time. but alas, the ground was soon upon her and she had to step onto it, there really was no other way if she wanted to get her token back. marisol had given it to her for luck, and mariska intended to give it back to her younger sister when she made it home to her. fingers twitching with uneasiness, she was making her way over to the gathered tributes when aleks began his.. episode. mariska shook her head, strands of her red hair falling from its high pony-tail to curl delicately around her face. first of all, she couldn't believe that someone was brave enough to go to the careers on their own. or did that just make them stupid? either way, they'd done it and though it'd been surprising, the district ten boy was who really seemed to set her partner off. glowering, she watched as aleks proceeded to tear apart multiple dummies, rolling her eyes when he was finished. did she seriously have to be part of this group? sure, she was a career but why the hell should she be saddled with the others? in her own opinion, mariska was better of on her own, but she knew dang well that she wouldn't win the games that way. and so, with a sigh and a heavy heart, she walked over to aleks, kicking a dummy head across the floor along the way. the red-head stopped in front of the brunette, pleased that she was tall enough to be able to look him in the eye. "come now aleks, surely you should know better than to lose your temper on the first day?" sure, she was goading him, but hey, that was what mariska did best. it wouldn't be good for them if they got into trouble in front of the gamemakers, especially now when, though she hated to admit it, they needed allies. brushing a strand of hair from her face, mariska's eyes caught on the pin that aleks still held in his hand. saying nothing, she reached out, taking the little bow and arrow and securing it tightly to her shirt. now, all that was left to do was wait and see what his reaction would be. of course, she already promised herself that if he ever jumped her like he'd jumped district ten, she'd beat his arse into the ground and then some.

Rey Fox :: District Ten :: Giving the longest speech of his life

Rey merely raised an eyebrow at the District Two tribute's outburst. "That wasn't what I meant," he said, still appearing calm. As the Career tribute walked over to the sword station and started slashing angrily at the dummies, Rey's nervousness drifted into fear. Another part of him, however, was thinking.

If he could keep the boy away from a sword, or any weapon, Rey could probably take him in a hand to hand fight. He was the one who dealt with the cattle, after all, usually only using a strong rope. Rey had to be strong to contain an angry bull. "You all know nothing about me," Rey said quietly. "Nothing other than my district."

He cracked his knuckles. Some of the blood from the rabbit he'd skinned earlier was still there, covering the calluses on his hands. "Since you all insist that I join you, there's a few things you should know," Rey said, leaning back against the wall, eyes closed.

"A full grown bull weighs over 2000 pounds. Some of the ones in my herd were approaching 3000. Cows weighed closer to 2000 pounds. Since I was thirteen, I've been in charge of a cattle herd of six cows and two bulls by myself." He opened his eyes, glancing around at the Careers and the District Three boy who'd shown up. "I'm the one who has to wrestle the bulls to get them back into their corrals. They don't like getting in there."

He gave a small smirk. "You didn't know any of that until I spoke. So, I ask again. Why did you pick me?"

He made up his mind. He'd join the Careers. He almost laughed to himself. A fox among wolves. He'd have to tread carefully if he wanted to get back to Jed.

Rey looked over to the District Three boy, Flux. The poor boy would be eaten alive if he wasn't careful. Something about the boy reminded Rey of Jed, though. He decided that he'd keep the other tribute safe for as long as he could.
