Congratulations! Your audition has been successful and you have been selected to be part of our school's annual musical production, Starlight Express. You will be working with a few of your peers in this fully student-oriented school play. You will have to work with the rest of the production team to not only create props and costumes, but to rehearse and perform in front of an audience, your peers and parents. The music rooms, art rooms and the school concert hall will be open always for you to prepare and rehearse. Your roles have already been assigned to you according to your vocal range and personalities. The play will be in 2 months, and you have until then to prepare. Good luck, students. Break a leg!

The annual race is near, and this year, three engines are competing to win the gold. Greaseball has won the race several times now, and he is confident that he can win again. He boasts of his strength, and dares anyone to challenge him. Electra is a new contestant, and is a show-off as well, impressing everyone with his showy outfit and multi-coloured mohawk. He is confident of his speed, and is certain that he will win the race. Rusty has always dreamed of taking part in the competition and winning it. Everyone doubts his abilities but this year he has stepped up to race, despite the jeering of the others. The rules of the race are that the racers must have a partner. Pearl is the new girl in town, who immediately catches Rusty’s attention and promises to be his partner. Dinah is Pearl’s best friend, and she has a major crush on Greaseball. Buffy is a major flirt who is sassy and smart. Volta is a cold girl who is distant, but gets along very well with Electra. C.B is a two-faced trouble-maker who manipulates people, and has a crush on Buffy. As everyone prepares for the race, Electra comes and woos Pearl with his confidence of winning. Eventually, she decides to go back on her promise to Rusty and agrees to be Electra’s partner. Beginning to doubt his abilities, Rusty is reluctant to race and considers pulling out. However, he has a dream that the Starlight Express, a sort of god, will help him win. He partners C.B and starts to have faith in himself. Meanwhile, C.B had made a deal with Greaseball and Electra to purposely sabotage Rusty during the race. The race begins, but C.B’s plan goes awry and he causes everyone to crash. Rusty knows it was C.B and accuses him, as well as his two rivals, for cheating. Pearl is upset with Electra and she leaves him. Dinah is also isn’t happy, and Greaseball abandons her. Greaseball then invites Pearl to be his partner and she agrees, not knowing that he was involved in sabotaging Rusty. Electra invites Volta, his good friend, to race with him. Excited, she accepts. Rusty chooses Buffy as his partner, and she too accepts. Again, the race begins, and as Greaseball and Electra compete and bicker, Rusty takes the lead. Greaseball and Electra crash, and Greaseball leaves Pearl behind in a desperate attempt to win. Rusty, seeing this, makes a detour to save Pearl before going back and winning the race. Pearl is extremely apologetic for abandoning Rusty and grateful to him for helping her, but he forgives her and they fall in love. Greaseball also apologises to Dinah for his actions, and she forgives him.

In this roleplay, your character will be taking part in a school musical, Starlight Express. It's a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber (Phantom of the Opera, Cats). You don't have to know the musical very well, or to even have heard of it, to take part. I have simplified the plot and edited several characters to fit the plot. Each character in the musical has a distinct personality, which corresponds to the personality of your character. As expected, there will be personality clashes. Enemies will be made and romance will bloom both on and off-stage. So what are you waiting for?

Literacy
Because this is a semi-literate roleplay, I expect at least 6 lines per post. I'm going to have a limit of 20 lines because I don't want you writing novels here. Good grammar and spelling is a must, though I know no one's perfect, so I do accept occasional slips.

Characters
Please choose from the character list below and follow the rough outline of your character's personality. It's a guideline, you don't have to follow it strictly, but don't make your character the total opposite of the guidelines. Please don't make your character perfect, we all know no one like that exists. No completely suicidal characters here too. I don't have anything against suicidal people but it's not really necessary in this RP. No God-modding, controlling others' characters.

Personality| Andy is an attention-seeker, and he loves to be in the limelight. He has a reputation for being loud and not being the kind of person who someone doesn't remember. He is bold and reckless, often doing things without thinking twice, which is something else that captures the attention of others. Andy is popular and is seen with his friends most of the time, as he is an extrovert and enjoys hanging out with others. He makes friends easily and is a warm and outgoing person. He doesn't keep much to himself and is very chatty, which helps him know everything about everyone. He has a very charming personality and is often able to get on the good side of people with his charisma and confidence. His showy outfits also come in handy when he's wooing people. Andy is like a party animal. He loves to go out late at nights to clubs and just hanging loose, bringing with himself a fake ID. He has told many people that he got drunk several times before, but in actuality he stopped himself when he was about to go overboard. Andy is extremely prideful of all his accomplishments. While he calls himself confident, it isn't hard to tell that means arrogant. He talks a lot about his clothes, his wealth and his accomplishments. He boasts a lot, which though people find annoying sometimes, it is a way to get attention. Ever since young, Andy has been independent and he can take care of himself. He is realistic, not too optimistic nor too pessimistic. He knows how to handle situations very well, and is a good leader. He owns up for his actions and does not shy away from responsibilities. He is self-reliant and can take care of himself, as well as other people. Andy is, to a certain extent, self-centred. He does care a lot about how he looks and how he acts, but he does have a very warm heart. Not many see it because he doesn't want to be seen as a charitable person. He wants to uphold his reputation as the loud and flashy person, and doesn't want to tarnish it by being helpful. However, if someone gets to know him very well, they will see that Andy is a very sweet boy. He donates money and lends his services where needed, though only if no one finds out about his charitable soul. He is giving of himself and kind, and extremely humble about it.

History| Andy is born to a rather large family of five. His family is very rich, living comfortably in a large house and living in luxury, practically. Andy has the money to get himself designer clothes and suits, as well as a sports car. His parents are both very successful doctors, so they have very little time for their three children. Andy's eldest brother is a rebel boy, who causes a lot of trouble in the household and in the city. He is often out and is in trouble with the law. Andy is the middle child. His younger sister is the sweetest person someone will ever meet, but she is dyslexic and so requires a lot of attention. With his household in turmoil, it's all Andy can do to disappear and try to stay out of the way. He is the victim of his parents' neglect, and so he tries to fill that hole in his heart by seeking attention of everyone in school. He doesn't blame his parents, though, as he understands how hard it is to have children like the three of them. At home, Andy is closest to his sister. She is young and is battling life, and so he's always there to guide and support her in everything she does.

They promised the four kids that this would be the last move, to give Penh and Abel and chance to start first grade, Phoebe to finish up high school, and for Jasper to pick a proper college. Personality:
Clary is one of those kids who manages to be quiet and bold at the same time. She almost never speaks, and yet one couldn't exactly describe her as shy. She is reserved and almost icy when it comes to her peers and intelligent, although she doesn't participate in class discussions and often turns in her homework late. She is secretive and a skilled liar, but she has very high moral principles. The few people who really get to know her find her a wonderful listener and quietly loyal friend, but at the same time a fiercely independent person who would rather suffer than accept help.
