Cyrus' mother was a brilliant young witch. She was born in Japan like he was, with a mother that was a Scot and a Japanese father. She was a half-blood, and became a Ravenclaw when she attended school. She was very well-liked amongst the teachers, a powerful witch who could easily cast charms and was very good at potions. Once she graduated Hogwarts, she returned to be the potions professor. Cyrus was the result of a drunk night with friends. His mother didn't know the man well, she merely knew he was an older German lad she attended school with, a Slytherin if her memory proved right. Cyrus wasn't born long after, and his mother never knew the name of his father, so she never stayed in contact with him. Cyrus was born premature, while his mother was visiting family in Tokyo. She had to stay an extra few months until he was healthy enough to return home. He'd looked just like his mother, except his freckles, which she'd always expected he got from his father. From birth, Cyrus was gentle and mellow. He'd never hurt a fly, nor would he try to. She deemed him brilliant, though, such as her, and expected him to be a Ravenclaw when sorted. That was, if she would've been able to see it. It was a mishap on Cyrus' accord. His mother left him briefly, saying she was running just down the road for one thing she was missing for dinner. She told him to turn off the stove, but at a young age his memory wasn't strong, and so he'd left it on. By the time she'd returned, the house was ablaze and Cyrus was trapped under the table. She managed to save him, but not herself. There was never a day that went by that he didn't feel guilty or regret the death of his loving mother, and often times, once he did attend Hogwarts, the Slytherins would tease him about it. Cyrus' grandmother moved to London to care for him. He took in his mother's path of being a brilliant student at Hogwarts, though her death had mellowed him out and made him rather quiet, which is a part of his personality. He's a very quiet boy unless spoken to. He often holds his feelings inside, trying to heal his pain with kindness, since it makes him feel good to be nice. He tolerates lots of abuse from the other students, calling him names and taunting him about his mother. He will tolerate a lot, and continues to be nice to Slytherins, even though he's afraid of them. Cyrus is quite afraid of a lot of things. He's especially afraid of fire, after his incident as a child. He wont even get near fireplaces. His other fear is of going blind, and it's because the world is so beautiful to him that he wouldn't want to miss any part of it. He also adores drawing, it helps him cope and relax, and if he couldn't see he couldn't draw. He owns a rat, which he named Dusty, and he cuddles with her at night and often keeps her hidden in his robes through lessons. He loves all animals, and enjoys care of magical creatures because of it. The teachers will comment how he looks like his mother quite often, as do others who had met her, and he will smile and nod and try to brush it off, even though it hurts him to talk about. He has light brown, fluffy hair, like his mother. His eyes are a tender, warm green, which are very kind and welcoming to all. His skin is tan and his cheeks and shoulders are covered in freckles which add to his overall childish appearance, since he's so small and short. He wears glasses which he can't see without, that are sort of big and bulky and he often pushes them up since they don't quite fit. His features are like his mother. You can tell he's of Japanese lineage. He has chubby cheeks that take on a reddish tint most of the time. He has no real love life, though, he's open to relationships, if they'd take him. He's a bit too gentle and shy and easily embarrassed to ever ask anyone out or try to make any moves. He does, however, like girls. He probably isn't the best to be in a relationship with if you don't have the patience to rid him of his shyness, but deep down he's very sweet, intelligent and loving, much like his mother was before him.

Riker was spinning her wand in her hand as she watched her brothers duel. Some brothers where sprouting warts, the others where hanging upside down. She was the last one left. The young blind girl flipped her ginger hair behind her shoulder. The last thing she knew was that she was hanging upside down. She growled. "Let me down!" she said, half laughing, half complaining. Then, she dropped and the floor shook. She stood up, and shifted into her snowy owl form. She soared twords her brother and landed on his shoulder. She pecked at his head, and leaped off his shoulder, shifting in mid air. "Now lets go if you guys are done playing! Its time for me to get going!" she said, and put Patches on her shoulder, and grabbed Twilight's cage. She grabbed her bags, and stuffed her wand in her back pocket. Her brothers where trouble makers, so they insisted on letting her try to Apparate. She smiled, and put her hand in the middle- or what she thought was the middle- and felt her brothers hands on top of hers, and then they where off. Her stomache clenched, and then she felt ground beneath her feet. "This way." her brothers said. They had to guide her since she was blind. John took her shoulder while Blake took her cart. They led her twords the wall, and she felt a rush of chill- which she knew she was on the platform. They walked her onto a train, and she sat down in a empty cart while they stored her things away. "Bye!" was what they all said, and they walked off the train, and she heard them doing their happy dance. She shook her head and laughed.

Ashleigh was teeming with happiness as she boarded the train. Sure, she would miss her American friends and her muggle sister, but she was stoked to return to Hogwarts for her sixth year. The blonde stowed her luggage and quickly took a seat, scanning the car for any familiar faces. There seemed to be hardly anyone on yet, so Ash just settled down into her seat, staring out her window. She was too timid to get off, but too bored to want to stay.

Cyrus quickly got out of the car once his grandmother stopped it, sticking his wand gently into his pocket that Dusty had shared with it. "Bye, Gram, see you for the holidays!" He promised without looking back, his trunk in hand as he quickly made a dash for the platform. He ran past Riker, recognizing the blind girl. It seemed impossible she could even play Quidditch, let alone a seeker. In one half of Cyrus he sort of wondered if her blindness was a hoax, especially since her eyes were not cloudy as most blind people's were, but in the better half of him he knew that was wrong and he shouldn't suggest such things. He also felt sorry for her if it was true... he was afraid of suffering the same fate. He'd never gotten the chance to meet her personally, though he'd talked to one of her brothers before after bumping into them. The conversation wasn't much more than apologies. He passed her by then rushed inside. He decided to go into the first basically-empty cabin he'd come across, which just so happened to be filled with a certain Hufflepuff girl. Cyrus, shy as he was, nodded to her, giving her a gentle smile. He couldn't quite fumble out the words required to ask her to sit, but instead became so flustered (and his face a soft red) that he merely stuck his trunk on the shelf above and then sat across from her. He hoped she'd be the one to start a conversation, or else it'd just be an awkward silence. He would need to apologize... "S-Sorry." Girls always made him nervous. He rubbed his nose then peeked in his robes for Dusty, the little rat squeaked and he smiled before pushing up his glasses and looking back to Ashleigh.

Elinor patiently sat alone in one of the compartments of the train, awaiting the arrival of her fellow Hufflepuff students. Butterflies filled her stomach it seemed as she began to get excited for another year at Hogwarts. A sorrow also shadowed over her joy as she thought about this being her second to last year at Hogwarts, the school that had become home. Her wand was clutched in her left hand as she lightly drummed it against her knee. A hoot from Mason, her snowy owl, got her attention as she looked up at him perched in his cage up on the rack. She smiled at him. She had gotten him as a present from her parents her first year at Hogwarts. She was going to miss them like always, but she would go visit them again at Christmas time.

Ashleigh turned her gray-blue optics from the window to see a familiar face. Being rather friendly, Ash had familiarized herself with many of her fellow Hufflepuffs. She offered the boy across from her a friendly, warm smile. "Hey!" she greeted him. "Cyrus, right?"

As Ash looked closer at the boy, she began to notice how uncomfortable he looked. He even began to apologize! She shook her head, dismissing it as if it were so easy - a shake of the ahead and all your troubles were gone. "Don't worry about it," she assured him, though she wasn't even sure what there was to worry about in the first place!
