(Great! ^^ Question though: I'm was going to assume the pictures should be cartoon/anime-y but I've been in ATLA roleplays where the characters had to have realistic pictures so I'm wondering... anime or realistic pictures in this rp?)

(Oh I don't really care honestly. I'll be drawing mine (so I guess that's kind of like anime) since I have specific ideas of what I want my characters to look like, but you don't have to. Just use whatever you want. :3)

He wears a dark overcoat held together by a clasp with the Fire System Insignia emblazoned upon it. His shirt is a worn tank top, and his pants are equally worn with time and use. His boots are not as polished as they once were, but still very sturdy. He wears an eyepatch over where his right eye should be.
Notable Possessions:
His crown, although he never wears it and keeps it wrapped up safe and hidden. He has one weapon: a lightsaber, although he's nowhere near as skilled with it as with his bending, and will only use it as a backup plan.

Interests/Hobbies:
Although at this point in time, most of his time is spent hunting down the Avatar, he tries to squeeze in some plain old stargazing whenever he can. He enjoys tinkering with machines as well, and back in his happier days he wouldn't hesitate to chat someone's ear off about mechanics.

Personality:
Makoto is a quiet, scholarly person, and though he is very proud, he loves affection and attention when he can get it (but it's not like he'd admit it or anything). He is imaginative (though sometimes his imagination runs away with him) and and clever, but recently those talents of his have been used less for leisure and more for the relentless pursuit of the Avatar. Along with intelligence comes high standards, and thus, he often sees other people as inferior, or of lesser intelligence and significance. His pride and condescending tendencies makes it hard for him to see people as equals, and thus, to make friends. He insists he doesn't need any, but that is not the case. Exile can make one lonely, after all.

History:
Born into the Fire System's royal family as heir to the empire, Makoto wanted for little throughout his childhood. From a young age, he has focused on honing his skills as a firebender, and this has made him the adept firebender that he is today. The one thing he strived for throughout his youth was the acceptance of the Fire Lord. He wanted his father to be proud of him, and for the most part, the man was. Makoto was a prodigy; the perfect child, and he was happy to be so.

That is, until the day he unwittingly challenged his father.

It had been during a war conference—the first that Makoto had ever attended. At this meeting, his father revealed that he had plans to capture the Avatar and either use them to the Fire System's own goals, or keep them locked up and alive for as long as possible. Now, until that point in time, Makoto had regarded the Avatar as some sort of hero, a person to be revered. His father's plans to enslave the Avatar shocked him, and without thinking, he venomously attacked the morals of the plan, in front of the entire council no less. His father took this as a direct challenge to his authority, and before Makoto knew it, he was dueling his own father, the one person he'd looked up to his entire life.

He lost the duel, as well as one of his eyes, and was sentenced to exile. Now, Makoto roams the systems, seeking out the Avatar so that he may regain the place he once held as his father's prodigy.
