For most of your life, you have been different. You have strange talents, or you excel in something to the point of being near perfect. Your looks, perhaps, are strange to most. This can lead to people either admiring you, hating you, or picking on you. All throughout your schooling years.

Now it's just gotten worse. You attend a private high school, and it's for the elite only. There are only about 100 kids total, meaning only 25 in each grade. You got in on sheer talent, and you're lucky because it's an expensive school to attend. It is also a boarding school. The classes go year round, with frequent 2 week breaks. The classes are like college- attend when you need, it's your grade.

Oh, and did I mention that you have a power? That's also been hard, seeing as how letting people know about it might end up with you in a lab somewhere, strapped to a table as you're dissected. However, there are others here like you. Even though you've been taught to keep your powers a secret, the others have confided in you. Are you willing to trust others with your secrets?

For those of you that are confused, here are the basics:

The school is located in the middle of a large, temperate forest. A single road leads to it.
The entire grounds is surrounded by a fence.

The main hall consists of offices and the cafeteria.
There is an entire gym building, along with fields of every sort and an Olympic pool
The studious buildings are all packed near each other, and there is one for each subject area: math, science, languages, social studies, arts.
There are 4 dorms as well. Each one is for a different grade, with the boys in one wing and the girls in another.

You have a power, as well as a 'gift'. The powers and gifts are predetermined.
The power is just what it sounds like- control of an element, flight, etc.
The gift is an extraordinary talent- art, music, sports, etc.

Everyone is staying at the school, since it's boarding school.
Also, everyone is a senior. All the predetermined characters are all transfers as of this year.

Every students gets their own private room and bathroom, decorated how they like.
Because the classes are run similarly to college ones, there isn't going to be a set schedule.
No classes begin earlier than 8 AM or run later than 4 PM.
There is also a class for every talent.

The Academy rules are allowed to be broken, but expect punishments.
The RP rules are not to be broken.

Academy Rules
1. Be respectful to your teachers, classmates, and faculty.
2. There is no dress code, but clothes must cover appropriately.
3. The only mandatory attendance for classes is on day 1 and for the 4 major exams through the year.
4. No weapons, drugs, or alcohol on school grounds.
*Bows and arrows are allowed, but must be properly registered and stored*
*Pocket knifes are allowed*
5. No over the top public displays of affection.
6. You may have pets, but don't go overboard- 2 'non cage' are acceptable, and multiple 'cage' are allowed.

*Pets not allowed in class or cafeteria*
7. There is a weekly meeting on Wednesday nights, from 7 to 8, in a special room in the main hall. This is ONLY for those with powers. No one else is allowed, and they cannot sneak in.


Roleplay Rules
1. Be respectful to everyone.
2. Make sure to read the forum rules. There shouldn't be much 'fading to black', and I'll allow crap, hell and damn. Others must use * on the vowels, but don't overdo it.
3. You must use the preset character sheets. You may add more, but don't add something contradictory. If I say they're a hothead, don't say 'only on Fridays' or anything like that.
4. Only 1 2 main characters per person. Other, regular students (seniors only, please) are allowed.
5. Because this is a school for the gifted, the ages I'll allow are 16-18.
6. PM your completed forms to me. Do not post on here until accepted.
This includes bumps (hitting the button at the bottom is allowed), reserves, and forms.
7. Post at least twice a week. I understand about real life, but I'd prefer this not to die.
8. The minimum literacy is 7 sentences a post. I do not like writer's block either, but come on. Just try.
9. Posts can be pretty or not, it's up to you. As long as they are readable and do NOT include a picture or fontmeme.
10. Roleplay in third person, past tense. 'She did this', not 'I run at the wall'.
11. No one except your CLOSE family and you know of your power (currently). Because of the other class, others will know soon.
12. These rules are subject to change, but I'll try to warn you first.
13. Make your own form, but make sure that you stick to the basics that I preset. Include: name, age, gender, gift, power, personality (can be just a bulleted list), history, pets (if any), and looks (and ONE picture).

Teachers are minor characters. Thus, they won't even have names. Just say 'the professor' or 'the teacher', if you even RP during the classes themselves.
Genders may continually change because of that.

yes, you may base your character's name and looks off a character from a fandom.
Yes, you may use real or anime pictures.

STATUS- Just starting the first day. It happens to be a Wednesday, so there is a special meeting tonight, though no one knows what it is!

NAME

His full name is Raphael Marcus Jackson. He goes by Raphael and Raph, but never call him Raphie.

AGE

He is 18.

GENDER

Obviously a male. He has a deep voice, with a Brooklyn accent.

GIFT

Raphael's gift is for sports. His main love and, therefore, most honed skill is any type of fighting. He knows martial arts and boxing and is superb at them both. Though it isn't part of his gift, he does tend to get into brawls a lot. Legitimate fights call for special skills, but a simple brawl is just that. He can also play a bit of soccer, as well as a few random sports.

POWER

Raph's power is fire control. He can make flames appear at will and control them down to the smallest bit. He can control the size, and whether it's hot enough to burn or cool enough to just tickle the skin. If angered enough, he can unleash his power unknowingly.

PERSONALITY

Aggressive, angry, prone to fights- His motto is 'act first, think later'.
Hothead, rash, impatient, stubborn- He tends to rush headlong into things, regardless of safety or the outcome, and is rarely swayed by others. People can just keep their opinions to themselves for all he cares.
Passionate- He is extremely passionate. That doesn't mean all 'lovey-dovey'- it means that his emotions tend to overwhelm him a lot. Rebellious- He thinks in his own way. Even if it means going against the rules, he'll do what he needs to.
Loyal- He refuses to abandon those close to him, though there aren't that many that are close to him.

HISTORY

Raphael was the 2nd oldest out of four brothers. His older brother was very engrossed in his military training, leaving the other 3 alone. While younger, his older brother led them more. His two younger brothers were more prone to trouble, and he often had to protect them. Growing up in the streets of New York City made him tough. They lived in a poorer part, meaning that gangs abounded. His mother died when he was 5, leaving the four siblings to be raised by their father. Raph struggled in school due to his temper, but he passed it anyway. The discovery of his powers happened when he was about 8. He was walking home from school when a group of older kids in some gang decided to attack him. He fought, but was outnumbered. As he made a last, angry stand, the leader of the gang caught on fire. They left him alone, and he started to practice his power. Raphael continued to be a problem child, always picking fights with others. Thus, his father sent him away for his senior year to go to Thornwood.

PETS

Raphael has a pitbull named Aurora. She has a thinner body and less blocky head. Her entire coat is a light cream color, but she has a splotch of dark brown on her nose. She has a black leather collar with her name and Raph's phone number written on it.

LOOKS

Raphael may be slightly under average height, but he makes up for it in muscle. He doesn't have bulk, but his muscles are still very much there. They are most defined on his stomach. He has flaming red hair and 'honey' eyes. On any normal day, he tends to wear some type of tank top and a jacket or vest, complete with jeans and black boots. A red dragon tattoo graces his left bicep, while tendrils of flame curl from his right wrist to his right elbow. He is covered in scars from his fights, but the most noticeable one runs from his left temple to his right jawbone. He got it the day he discovered his powers.

OTHER

Raphael's room is mostly black, though there are accents of red and orange here and there. He has many posters up on the walls, and it tends to be a mess.

His full name Leon James Bailey. He doesn't like Leon, so he goes by Leo.

Leo's gift is music. He can sing and play most any instrument, though he is by far best at guitar.

POWER

Leo's power is that of enhanced senses. All 5 of his senses are stronger, especially sight and hearing.

PERSONALITY

Leo is a pretty chill guy. He is very caring and sensitive, which some may see as more feminine traits. He just lets comments like that slide away. The other side of his personality is much more outgoing. He is rather quirky and funny, and he can be a downright goofball if around the right people. He doesn't have any friends at the school since he just started going there, but he can make them rather easily.

HISTORY

Leo was raised in Georgia, in a small coastal town. He spent a large amount of his time outside and started his love of music when he could first talk. He would babble along to the radio, and started to use things as drums very early on. His parents enrolled him in a music program and their efforts paid off. He discovered his powers when he was about 7. He was upstairs and his parents were downstairs in the kitchen, quietly planning a surprise party for him. He somehow heard, and rushed downstairs to tell them that he thought it was a great idea. His parents didn't mind his odd quirks, but sent him to Thornwood in hopes of having them help Leo get into a good music college with their prestige.

LOOKS

Leo is a bit skinny for his age but of average height. Since he was always one for music, he had no need for much body building. His hair is short and blond, though the tips are a bit redder than the rest. His stunning blue eyes contrast his hair, but seem to just make him look happier. He likes to wear a number of things, so his outfits are never the same on any given day. He has a tattoo on his chest of a black base clef and a blue guitar pick.

OTHER

Leo's room is pretty much all blue and white, and music stuff abounds. He has his guitar and equipment stashed there as well.

- Whenever Phoenix talks, for some reason, animals can understand her. They hear her speak in their language. If a human is in the room is gifted as well, sometimes they will hear what sounds like animal noises coming from Phoenix, but most of the time all they hear is English. No she can't speak other languages. She isn't sure why it doesn't work with humans like it does with animals.

Phoenix has a short and slim, but well proportion body. 5'1 in height and weights 105lbs. Brown eyes and redish brown hair done in a short choppy style. Phoenix normally wears blue jeans, short sleeve shirts, and tennis shoes. She is a firm believer of dressing to play outside and for comfort.

History:

Phoenix is just a typical country girl who grew up learning to farm and care for the animals. She was the only child however, so she had a lot of responsibilities and really didn't talk much about her powers. She knew she was different from the day she was born when she found out she could talk to animals. As she got older, she also learn she could make the crops grow bigger and healthier then anyone else could. At first everyone thought she just had a 'green thumb' but eventually she ran all the other farming business' to the ground and the town she lived in banished her. They said it wasn't fair that only her family could prosper, and that the others couldn't, thus she was sent here to the school.

Pets:

Eurasian Wolf, Female, 5 years, 117lbs, eats: Mostly meat, but also berries and insects now and then, Name: Sage
- Sage isn't really a pet though. To call her such is an insult. She came from a real pack, but after meeting Phoenix one day in the woods and realizing the human understood her, Sage decided to start a new adventure and travel with Phoenix as her companion and friend. Sage and Phoenix can speak mind to mind. Sage is the only animal that Phoenix can speak mind to mind with.
Baby Capybara, Male, 2 months old, 15lbs, eats: grass/fruit, Named: Nuka
- Nuka on the other hand was found abandon after some poachers slaughtered her family, leaving the then 5 day old baby to fend for herself. How the little Capybara came to be in the care of Phoenix and Sage is a mystery though, seeing as Capybara's are native to South America. Whatever the case may be, Sage and Nuka are completely inseparable. In fact, Sage, being much older, has acted as a surrogate mother for the young Capybara.
