Leota scanned the land. Tribe members were slowly emerging. He smiled at their punctuality to the morning sun. Eventually, Leota considered himself fully awake. He smiled in greeting to several Tribe members, then watched as Rateik approached. The male was always a close friend of Leota and his family. So there was no debate as to who the Deputy would be. Leota nodded in greeting to the Deputy. Then, he listened as he spoke. The mention of his daughter brought all of Leota's attention to his words. Leota sighed. "Oe omum. Kxawm ayoeng tsun channel peyä lenomum nemfa 'uo lesar," he said, perking up a bit. The Olo'eyktan thought long and hard about activities that Katari could do. Finally, he reached a conclusion. "Po tsun ftia ayioang," he said, smiling, "oe would pxel nga ne kä hu peyä, Rateik." Leota entrusted Rateik to keep his daughter safe. Plus, the Deputy would also learn more about the natural world as well.

- I know. Maybe there is something useful to channel her curiosity.
- She could study the animals. I would like you to go with her, Rateik.

Sia'lu landed on the branch of a broad, tall tree. The Ikran screeched as she touched the bark with her claws. Katari dismounted, unfolding her hand to reveal the rock. She sat on the branch, letting her feet dangle. The Princess turned the stone over and over in her hands. Its surface was shiny on one side, and alive with plants on the other. Truly a miracle, considering where it was found. Katari raised it up to the sun, turning it slowly. The moss was indeed alive and well. Not the slightest bit of death or sickness. This is amazing! She stood, excited now. Katari tucked the rock into her hunter's belt, then mounted Sia'lu once more. She screeched, and the Ikran was once more in the sky. The flight to camp was a short one. Katari and Sia'lu landed directly behind her father and Rateik, the Deputy. Katari hopped off of her Ikran, sending the animal off. When she turned to face them, the excitement was evident. Katari ran over to the two males. "Tìng nari! Tìng nari!" she shouted, pulling the stone from her pouch.
