Leo refused to fall asleep. He was scary good at pretending the sweet temptation of sleep didn't exist. He wasn't exhausted. This was only the weary satisfaction that came from working hard and making sure his crew didn't crumble too much. But our group is shaky. We stand, literally, on shifting ground. And I am supposed to be the outsider who will never be able to relate to them. Yet here I am, doing my best to protect them. I hope this will keep them by my side. Leo didn't have to sugarcoat the thoughts in his mind. His friends really did their best to help him feel like a part of their whole. He was. He would not succumb to believing he was nothing. He was part of this unofficial little meeting they were having and together, they would determine what to do next. He burst into the kitchen and fetched a bowl of Lucky Charms for an extra touch of irony. "Leo hath arrived!" He announced, waltzing over towards the doorway that led into the main lounge and then letting out a real chuckle at the sight of Jason and Piper. "Well, well, well...what happened with you two?"

Piper was about to step through the doorway when a familiar curly head poked his way through the doorway. He examined Piper and Jason with that devious little look of his, his dark eyes sparking with classic Hephaestus fire. He asked exactly what had occurred, and Piper gave a flustered smile as her cheeks became decorated with light pink. "Oh, nothing...we were just eating some doughnuts down here and we dozed off. They help with nightmares...if you don't believe me, you should try one for yourself." Leo didn't appear as if he'd been plagued by the nasty little suckers, and he was smiling and everything. But Piper could just faintly pinpoint dark circles underneath his eyes. He was a wild card...sometimes, he'd let the others know about his current state. Other times, he offered to let the rest of the bunch share while he put on his invisible mask. Leo hadn't had nightmares because the boy had most likely been keeping watch alongside Hazel. It made sense...he didn't sleep a wink, but at least he didn't have to risk plummeting into the terrible dreams gone bad. When he did, Piper vowed she'd offer Leo a doughnut as a remedy.

Jason quickly brushed himself off, grinning at Leo. "Piper's right, the doughnuts do help." He hadn't remembered feeling so happy in a long time. "So.... Breakfast?"

(LOL, kinda reminds me of Grover and the coffee. XD)

When Annabeth opened her eyes once more, they opened to a dim light, though bright to her tired eyes nonetheless, after they had adjusted to the silky darkness of oblivion for so long. She was still leaning against Percy's shoulder; the son of Poseidon was still asleep. She smiled as she looked up at him, sitting up and wincing slightly as her spine cracked in multiple places. He was drooling, per usual, and the sight brought a goofy grin to her face. Pulling the cuff of her hoodie sleeve over her hand, she wiped away the drool trail from his face and gently shook his shoulder, pulling the blanket off of her.

"Hey, Seaweed Brain, wake up," she said, her voice soft and gently, melodic. She brushed back a few strands of dark, shaggy hair that hung in his face; gods, his hair had really grown out over their time spent in Tartarus. Annabeth kind of like it that way, though.

She could tell that the others on the Argo II were already awake, at least most of them. She could hear their voices in the distance, and if that wasn't a giveaway, then the tell-tale creaking of the wooden floor was.

-----Percy was woken up by the soft sound of Annabeth's voice, and her shaking his shoulder as she tried to wake him up. He groaned, not wanting to leave the safety of his corner with Annabeth by his side. "No... five more minutes." Percy was always one of the last people to wake up and he was always slow moving in the morning until thirty minutes after he first woke up. Shifting his weight so that he slid until his shoulders hit the corner allowing his shaggy hair to shield his eyes from the bright lights that were slowly waking him up.

-----His arms sprawled on the ground next to him as he muttered to himself about mornings. While his rest was surprisingly dreamless, he felt much more rested that he had in months, but he was still tired as a result of first waking up. Eventually he gathered up enough will power to sit up, and he pushed his hair out of his eyes. "Did you sleep well?" Percy yawned, and held his head up with his fist, looking Annabeth over as if he were checking for any injuries.

Gods, he was so lazy sometimes, she thought with a grin. It wasn't like he getting up to go to school or anything. Though she couldn't blame him. Even after such a peaceful night's rest, she still felt a bit tired, like she'd missed out on a year of sleep.

When he finally sat up, she beamed and leaned forward to kiss him for a long moment. When she pulled away, she gave a light-hearted laugh and ran a hand through her now-tangled blonde hair. "Surprisingly, I did," she answered. "Thanks... for bringing me here."

It sounded a bit unnessecary to her, but she was actually glad that they'd come here. It brought back sweet memories of this time in the stables once more, which seemed like the last time that she'd actually gotten well rested.

Anyway, now that sleep was out of the way - hopefully the exhaustion would leave her alone now, for a few hours at least - she was hungry. Of course, that could wait a while, but she imagined that Percy was too.

-----Annabeth's soft lips against his was enough to wake him up. Percy kissed her back, and resisted the urge to pull her in close to him. "Don't mention it." Quickly he stood up, knowing that if he sat there any longer he'd be distracted all day by the thought of cuddling with his girlfriend. Percy took her hands and pulled Annabeth up to her feet, "C'mon. Let's get breakfast." He laced his fingers through hers and lead her towards the mess hall of the Argo II. When he reached the door, he pushed it open and held it for Annabeth.

-----When he looked up, he saw most of the crew there, everyone except Frank it seemed. Percy frowned and looked around, "Where's Frank?"

As Percy pulled her to her feet, she smiled, his warmth much more than any blanket could provide. "Yes. I like that idea. Breakfast sounds nice," she replied, stiffling a yawn.

And so they left behind the little nook, a bit messier than it had been what with the blanket strewn carelessly across the floor and the bag of chips spilling out a few of its contents as well, but she imagined it wasn't like Percy cared. To her knowledge of 'man caves', the messier they were, the better. Plus, Annabeth was never much of a clean freak, anyway.

They walked in silence down the hallway. She wondered if Leo would be making anything special, like he usually did. While the plates that filled themselves was nice, homemade food always seemed to taste so much better. The muffled voices of the others was slightly louder, suggesting that everyone else was already gathered in the mess hall. To be honest, she had never liked being the last person to arrive to anything, be it a party or just a simple meeting, and suddenly felt extremely self-conscious. Her hair was probably messed up and her clothes probably ragged and wrinkled from not changing since yesterday afternoon. Annabeth ran her free hand through her hair in hopes of making it look somewhat predictable, though she quickly gave up, deciding that it wasn't like they'd judge her. They were a practically a family; it wasn't like they cared what she looked like.

Her suspicions had been confirmed though: everyone else was there.

Well, everyone expect for Frank. She pursed her lips, she wasn't normally the one to be late to breakfast, or lunch, or dinner. She wondered where he could be, obviously curious.
