At first glance, maybe she doesn't look quite like a pirate. Tall and slender, almost willowy, she looks as soft as sheep's wool. She has a slightly pear-shaped boy, with long legs and in-proportion arms with small hands and slender fingers. The hair on her head is a shimmering golden brown, often just let loose and cascading down to the bottom of her shoulder blades. It's currently matted from sea salt, and she's determined to get a comb to free herself of knots. She may be a warrior, but she still wants to look nice! Her eyes are a rich brown, like melted chocolate. Cupid bow lips form the words she speaks. Tempest mostly wears clothes that ooze oriental origin. Dark and embroided with gold that brings out her hair, Tempest's clothes undoubtedly suit her and help to enhance her beauty.

Tempest Rivers. No nicknames, no alias. And fortunately for anyone who meets this lass, her name greatly foreshadows her personality. She is very much like a violent storm, just as her name suggests. Just like the sea, she's calm one moment, the picture of tranquillity, and the next, she's knocked you off your feet with a sharp blow and the tip of her sword is pressing against the flesh of your throat, just under the line of your jaw. She's a maelstrom, a deadly whirlpool when you anger her, but on the battlefield... it's not that she becomes a different person, it's more like she unleashes her fury and true potential on those threatening the ship. She's quick to snap, stubborn and headstrong; Tempest will not take no for an answer. And she refuses to be ordered around or summoned like some mongrel pup. Rebellious, I guess you could say. Tempest may be a little cocky, for she knows many things due to her past, maybe passive, indifferent, but with an aura of authority. She's no shy person, but she just chooses when she'll speak.
However, she is calm.. occasionally. Well, more than that. Don't anger her and you have a friend for life, one who is a true adventurer, inquisitive but not naïve, intelligent and an all-round good person. Apart from the piracy, of course.
Her life on the sea has cut off all ties with family and her former mentor, a man whom told no person his name and trained Tempest for many years in the art of not only sword fighting, but spears, firearms and body. He taught her many different things, most of which she refuses to teach anyone else.

At the age of eight, a long-time friend of her father arrived from a merchant ship and began to train her, fully believing in equality like the rest of the western kingdom. She excelled in sword fighting and he taught her many other things before he left after ten long years. Around the same time, Tempest joined the pirate crew. She's a very good match for the captain in ways of combat, and considers him a close friend after four years of sailing the seas.
