Her discomfort became visible once she had met his eyes for a second and realized he was watching. Seeing this, Danny looked away and settled back against his seat, trying to listen as the music teacher went on about the notes and scale and, as always, beat changes. His last class must have been really bad at beat changes. Danny found himself actually listening when the moving hand from his peripheral vision drew his gaze again.
Christ, she was good. Better, even, then some artists he admired on sites like deviantArt. They were mostly doodles, and he didn't get many glimpses of her shading, but it was good and Danny realized he was feeling kinda jealous of her skill. He drew a lot, has been since he was little, and he agreed that he was actually pretty good at it, but she was at a skill level he felt was beyond his own. Watching her hand and her pencil was like watching water, it moves so smoothly and defined the art.
Danny told himself off for watching, but then brightened a bit as an idea occurred to him. With practiced ease, he slipped his own sketchbook from his backpack and opened it to a blank page, where he quickly sketched out a Shuppet, by far his favorite of the Pokemon. It was okay, and some effort was put into it, but it was just a doodle and he didn't need to make it perfect. He smiled at the Shuppet, then slid his sketchbook to the edge of his desk so she could easily see it.
hello, i'm robin! i'm nonbinary and i go by they/them pronouns*.
i've been roleplaying for years, and even though (or perhaps because) school is exhausting, i'm always 100% into joining some semi-lit to literate rps.
(i tend to rp characters that deviate from the gender binary, btw, bc that's how i roll. winky emoji.)
*don't understand? that's just fine! here's an example:
"they don't like to talk about their personal life."
