Haila let her hand fall back as she watched him leave, and quickly stole a glance at the phone. She let out a puff of breath and followed after him, still wondering how she could repay him. An well, the only idea she had was... To pay for ice cream! : D So, she just followed happily, not caring if he didn't even take the offer of getting help up. That wasn't something to worry over anyways. Silently, she slipped her phone into her pocket and pulled out her wallet. Getting out at least 20 dollars, she quietly attempted to slip the money into Jace's pocket. Though it didn't work so well, since they were moving, and she was moving faster than him. But, Haila wouldn't allow Jace to pay for it, because... She needed to pay him back? It was just a nice thing to do anyways.
Haila quickly took notice of the other counterpart walking slower than another normally should. She also took notice of the slight, miniscule limp hidden in his walk, and frowned. If he was hurt, why didn't he take her hand? She shook her head. It was confusing, and interaction was confusing. She was still bewildered on how she, one of the shyest in school, allowed herself to be taken to get ice cream. This guy could easily murder her, considering how easily he punched the bully away. She shrugged though. Sometimes, you just need a little faith.
