i've seen the world
done it all, had my cake now
diamonds, brilliant, and bel-air now
hot summer nights mid july
when you and i were forever wild
the crazy days, the city lights
the way you'd play with me like a child
will you still love me
when i'm no longer young and beautiful
will you still love me
when i got nothing but my aching soul
i know you will, i know you will
i know that you will
will you still love me
when i'm no longer beautiful

TRIPS AROUND THE WORLD
♚ ♚ A LITTLE PARTY NEVER KILLED NOBODY ♚ ♚
❝in new york. in the summer 1922, the tempo of the city approached... hysteria. stocks reached record peaks, and wall street boomed in steady golden roar. the parties were bigger. the shows were broader. the buildings were higher. the models were looser, and the ban on alcohol had backfired, making the liquor cheaper. wall street was luring the young and ambitious. ❞
the story begins on long island, west egg and east egg, separated only by a courtesy bay. the east egg consists of the already established wealthy class that has been part of the aristocracy for generations, they're usually called "old money". the west egg are those that had more than likely been born under less comfortable circumstances and who suddenly find themselves well-to-do. the "new money" try desperately to situate themselves on to that level of wealth that the people of the east egg perch on, but ultimately realize the difficulty of doing so. in between the grand city of new york and west egg, there is a dumping ground called the valley of ashes. you can't find much there, but a gas station and an old eye doctor billboard with two eyes on it.
these eight young people live the life of the rich and famous, they are either in love with their spouse or not, but instead of becoming friends, they start becoming lovers. people cheat on their loved ones, there is no limit, not even the sky.
