people believe there is the option of going to an asylum if you are diagnosed with a mental illness. others believe you would be better off in a hospital that specializes with such things. however, most forgot about the better option - the one where you're still treated like a human being and are not strictly there to get "better". these places are called a group home. a home to six kids each - usually the amount within each group home. they can range from being physically disabled, mentally disabled, and can come from a broken home. and, that is exactly what this is about: you're in a group home. you go to school, you work, you read books. some of you are new, tyrell and carter, and the rest have been there for quite awhile - benjamin being the longest resident there and in his last year of high school. then we have samantha, a freshman, who has been there since she was thirteen. this would be sterling's second year here and his best buddy, julicia, has been there for a year and is also in her senior year.

the longest resident of alderwood group home is benjamin torrio capone. some people call him benny, others call him ben but most importantly strangers address him as benjamin. this kid, well eighteen year old kid, group up in chicago for twelve years. he is a descendant al "scarface" capone - an italian mafia boss back in the years 1925-1931. benjamin was sent to alderwood, located in brooklyn, by his single mother. she just couldn't take care of benjamin who had a love for music and constantly reenacted scenes from movies he had watched. even though benny was great to have around the house for cleaning purposes, he was constantly driving the guys away from his mother. in search for love, she eliminated benjamin from her life in chicago. she still loves her boy, more than anyone could imagine, and benjamin still writes to her mother. however, benny has a hard time when it comes to spelling and his handwriting resembles one of a six years old. he can hardly read but that doesn't stop him from trying. this guy absolutely loves to help people - possibly a flaw but a pro to his personality. he's funny, kind hearted, and acknowledges the best in people. two other things you should know about benjamin are: he has ocd and is constantly listening to loud music - rock music, to be exact.

here for two years, sterling has yet to peep a word. he is what you would call a selective mute - someone who decides not to speak. he has the ability to speak but due to past reasons, speaking doesn't appear to be any fun. before he moved to alderwood, his home was in sweden. he was bullied by several people in school, but mikah was the worst. a day didn't go by when sterling came home with a new sprained ankle, bruises, or stitches. his life at home wasn't any better. illegal activity was taking place there - something a child should never go through. soon enough, sterling knew it was better if no one heard his voice. he became a selective mute at the age of eight and hasn't spoken a word for eight years. he's not even sure if he can speak now granted it has been such a long time. the worst part about his history was the fact he wasn't even supposed to be with the family he was with. sterling had been babynapped from the hospital and has a twin somewhere in the world. however, the twins look nothing alike so that search is hopeless. in order to express his thoughts, feelings, and the words building up inside of him he takes it to a large white paper and dips his fingers in paint. sometimes the sixteen year old will use a paintbrush or spray paint. he is a master at painting and graffiti. sterling is quiet, reserved, head shy, but a sweetheart deep inside. he adores teaching people new things even if he won't speak.

tyrell brown is probably the most interesting fourteen year old you will ever meet. at a young age, three, he was diagnosed with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (more commonly known as ASD). he does not make eye contact when speaking and has a specific schedule. for example, he might go to bed at a specific time and if someone wakes him before it's the set time to be woken up at, he'll stay awake the whole night to keep the schedule. tyrell is extremely smart which causes him to be a smart ass. when people use figurative language (i.e. "i'll kill you") he'll often respond with something that would make you want to break his neck. forementioned, when using the phrase "i'll kill you" his answer will often be "no, you wouldn't kill me. that'd be premeditated homicide. you'd go to jail. you'd go to jail." tyrell also has to eat his foods separate. he will not eat burritos, for example. they are mashed together with meat, beans, cheese, and vegetables - he wants them separate. anyway, tyrell was sent to alderwood because they saw his mother as "unfit" to raise a child. just like benjamin, tyrell often writes to her. he was born in detroit but is now living in brooklyn. he has trouble emphasizing with others and making eye contact. he hates to be touched and screams three times in the morning due to no longer being with his mother. tyrell is extremely good with computers and hacking. and is also new to alderwood.

carter carmen cilizone really has nothing wrong with her. the sixteen year old just comes from a broken family. aha, if only that was the case. whereas the others here have disorders or disabilities, carter's past is a whole bunch of jumble crap. her parents didn't want a girl, they wanted a guy. this is why they named carter. at a young age, she was dressed in guy's clothes and her hair was cut short. however, with age she grew independent and knew she was a girl - not a dude. soon enough, she bought her own clothes, grew her hair out, and wore make up. her parents didn't like this too much, blinded by the obsession of wanting a son. she was mentally abused by their words and the student body's words. wherever she went, carter was tormented. upon reaching fifteen, she dropped out of school and ran away from her home in south carolina. carter then lived with her grandmother for six months, until she died and left her on her own. even though she inherited quite a sum of money, that's untouchable until reaching eighteen. she has been crying every night since she was twelve and is now sixteen. carter was admitted into elderwood and is new there, not sure what to expect. the natural red head is loud, outgoing, and has a keen eye for interesting things or people.

genesis samantha michaels came from a rich family. she had everything she wanted including a personal housekeeper, chief, and nanny. she was homeschooled for the majority of her life and got anything she wanted from her family's personal shopper. but, even a spoiled girl like her needed her parents around. they were never there, she doesn't even remember what they look like. soon enough, the blonde lashed out in anger to her family's employees. the anger turned to her being quiet and avoiding everyone. she stayed in her room and only came out to eat. seeing how she had a bathroom in her room, there was no need to go out when needing to take a whizz. once her parents heard about this behavior, they sent a therapist to her room and got down to what was really wrong with her: genesis suffered from anxious personality disorder. her fears include being criticized by others so she simply avoids people. she is constantly anxious and assumes the worst will happen to her. genesis was sent to alderwood because her parents did not want to deal with a crazy child. this would wreck their reputation and they simply could not have this. though, they might? still love her. they send her a present on her birthday and will rarely send a letter her way. here's the catch: her dad absolutely loves her but her mother could not stand genesis so she was happy to get rid of their daughter. genesis has been here for three years and is fourteen years old. she is clever, a troublemaker, manipulative, and has others do her bidding.

julicia clover lopez is the most lovable eighteen year old you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. one would say she was popular and others would argue she has her whole life set and will easily make it alone in this world. julicia does what she wants, says what she wants, and is a someone who is all action. this girl was actually born in brooklyn, so no moving was required when going to alderwood. how could such a girl end up in a group home? other than julicia having been diagnosed with impulsive syndrome, her parents were shot and killed when some gangsters had raided their home at night. julicia was actually spending the night at her friends house and hadn't heard about it until the morning when her aunt had come to pick her up. seeing how her family was rather poor, she was admitted into alderwood and has been there for a year. julicia is outspoken, territorial, and fearless. this girl is more than extremely well at dancing. this is her dream and you can always find her dancing to benjamin's music and totally just rocking out. discarding that information, julicia is elegant and light on her feet. her favorite style of dancing is street dancing and break dancing.

the face claims are not up for discussion. considering the majority of role plays lack the conception of race, this is why the face claims were set. the ages of the characters are not up for discussion and neither are their pasts or personalities. everything written about the character is set in stone. in order to reserve a spot, post the face claim of the character and their name. example;

once you have posted that, you have 48 hours to complete your form. the form must show your ability of coding and you can just copy and paste the text i have written for the character. yes, i know there are some people who cannot code and i shouldn't set this rule because it has nothing to do with their ability to write. however, i am more than sick of that opinion and this is my role play. in other words, deal with it. speaking of being literate, i want more than two large paragraphs in a neat and appealing format. your word choice should be that of a ninth grader, or of someone who is fifteen and older. if your character uses heavy swear words, please star (*) the whole word out. it appears lovely that way compared to only starring out the vowels. your characters should be like how i described them. if you want to learn more about their disability, i suggest to google it. if you would like to see how exactly tyrell acts, going to google and watching a video of gary bell from alphas should do the trick. i don't care how often you reply granted school is in session and the amount of homework, dances, and social stress is unpredictable. however, i would recommend sending me a message so i could inform the other role players of this. you could just say "i need to take a break for awhile, i'll be back in a week" and we will understand. no arguing out of character. you don't know what a person has been through and it can trigger them to have an emotional breakdown. treat every role player like a human being not a toy subject. you do not need to use the pictures i have provided for the characters, you can use your own. keep in mind the role playing rules and follow them like a soldier would follow orders from their commander. the characters do go to school and some might have a job.
