Depends on the usefulness and quantity of the items really; otherwise I don't see a problem with him having a backpack at all :3

I would prefer third person as you can work in a lot more detail, however if you can still meet the posting minimum and be detailed in first person you are welcome to do so.

Chris slowly opened her eyes, squinting in the bright sunlight. She lifted her hand to her head, which ached. She groaned and tried to get up, only to lay back down again in the warm sand. The plane. She tried to sit up again, and wrapped her arms around her knees, resting her head. Cuts ran up her arms, and her pants had several rips in the black denim. Chris reached up to feel her head again to feel a shallow cut near her hairline. What happened?

He lifted the white stick to his lips; clamping it delicately between his teeth. He shook the silver canister next to his ear listening for the swishing fluid before flicking it open and lighting the end of his cigarette. One-two puffs; exhale. Corbin sighed looking over at his sister; curled up on a rock by the lake shore. "You're gonna get sick out there" he teased her lightly. Anything to really lift this gloomy situation; what they needed to do was either clear out the bodies around the crash site and make the plane some sort of base, or find somewhere safer to hide out; the scent of blood and meat would draw predators; if anything existed on this god forsaken place. He glanced around to find a few others just midly stirring on the ground; either they were waking up, or they were gonna keel soon.

Kasper sat on the slick, yet warm rock; she grunted at her brother's comment. "Stop treating me like I'm a child; I'll be fine" She muttered defensively. She hugged her knees watching the gentle lake surface ripple softly. Tears began to well in her eyes, she was usually the strong one, but she felt like a big baby now. What had just happened? Her lap rustled softly as her ferret climbed into her arms. She used one find to pet his head; he'd lost his girlfriend in the crash. Cassie would miss the little bundle of fluff.

Chris looked up, trying to ignore the thumping against her skull. She slowly got up, and looked around. She saw the plane in ruins, smoke rising off. Chris slowly walked towards it, and reached up to grab her bag from the now-sideways seat. It had rips, and was hanging open, most of her clothes gone. But she still had some water, notebook, and a pencil. Great. She lifted the bottle to her lips, and took a sip. Her throat felt soar, and she still couldn't seem to say anything. Chris held onto the side-back, and looked around again before she noticed two more people up and moving.

Ren sat up slowly, his arms raking the sand. "Sand?" He looked around confused before the memory hit him. He sat there for a second dumbfounded before he leapt to his feet. Well, leapt up as fast as his aching and complaing body allowed. "Hannah?" He whispered, looking around. "Hannah!" He yelled, his heart droppping in his chest. He started to move quickly, glancing around. His gaze moved over the faces of the few people stirring but she wasnt there. "Hannah!" He called out again, his throat feeling as though it was ripping. He tripped, catching himself with his hands. He kicked himself up again, wiping his scraped hands on his pants. NO.NO.NO.No... he didnt want to believe but somehow knew. "Hannah." he whispered, sitting down to let it sink in. His head throbbed as tears threatened to spill. He sat with his arms on his knees and head resting on them. Ren closed his eyes, not wanting to see the wreck around him.

Chris turned to see another boy, obviously a wreck. She pulled her back over her shoulder, and walked towards him, her legs shaking. "Are, are you okay?" She asked quietly, her voice still scratchy. Her head still pounded, and her arms began to sting. She then realized she had been on the plane with her best friend. Frantic, she started to search the faces, and dropped her bag. She called her friend's name, her throat dry. Tears started to come to her eyes. How did this happen? Was all she could think as reality came back to her.
