Ella-Mae was one of those quiet little girls born on a bright
summers morning, in that one small little village surrounded
by lush green fields and farm animals, that she was bound to
be in for the rest of her life. Her name, which quickly became
just 'Ella', was chosen by both parents, first by her mother,
middle name, Kathy, by her father, and a surname all of them
would share. Her parents, Grace and Patrick Parker, were great
people, always ones to raise their kids right, not being too strict,
yet not too carefree, both ones born and raised in the country,
with her father owning land of his own.
Ella's the second child in her family, and the youngest, with one
older brother, Matthew, who like the rest of the young men in
Ashwick, remained at home to help farm the land, despite the
fact that he doesn't want to stay. Matt wants to travel, go to
college, and make a new life for himself, and leave the land for
Ella, who loves every aspect of the country life. This young lady,
years old, grew up very independent, a girl willing to do her part
to help get by. The family, like all those in the small area of
Ashwick, have their fair share of lands that they struggle to use
in order to get by as life on the farm has been difficult, with
fewer farmers wanting to rent land for cattle, sheep and horses.
Despite this, Ella's father still made her dreams seem only too
possible, and give her the horse of a lifetime...

Amora is one of those cheeky, people-selective mares, behaving
for some people, particularly those she knows, and misbehaving
for others. Looking at her, you'd think she'd be a perfectly quiet,
easy going mare with no big problems, but those people are
always the ones that she makes a fool of. Amora is silly, and has
problem opening her stable door if you don't close it right, and
taking a stroll out to the paddock along side of her horsey-
friends, which back in her yard in Ashwick, just happened to be
a 9hh Shetland mare. But, Amora does other silly things, like
jumping over wheelbarrows when her stable's being mucked out,
or stealing food from peoples pockets. To ride, she's generally a
very well behaved mare, even if she sometimes decides to throw
in bucks in the middle of courses from time to time, or shies at
things she'd pass in every-day life. She'd even do small rears, if
she's rally fresh and excited. She can be a handful, not for a
beginner at all. Her rider needs to know how to figure out young
horses, even though she's not that young - she just still has all the
same tricks. Plus, she's strong. But, Amora's still a very friendly
mare. back home,s he was one of the most loved mares on the
yard, because she's friendly, with those cute, cheeky little quirks.
And, her bond with Ella is still unmissable.

In high school, Ella wasn't popular, but she was of no means an odd-ball either, she kept herself clear of trouble, never a fan of drinking, thinking smoking was horrid, and only allowing a tattoo mark as not-so-much-of-a-good-girl. She had her small group of friends, who sat together at the same table at every lunch, talked about the same things country girls talk about, and just let life slip on by them. In school, Ella was generally known for her friendly and timid personality, apart from that one single trait that guys loved only too much, and that was sense of freedom. She was one of the girls all the guys wanted because she was a 'good girl', but she wasn't all good and they knew that. The girl was just barely carefree, allowing herself to be up late with music, and taking those outings that weren't drinking sessions and parties. She loved nature, forests and beaches, and much rather being outside then indoors, where she felt almost caved in. She has that cute sense of adventure that sometimes turns daring. She's by all means unique, a girl with two similarly different sides. Ella only really talks to her closest friends, as in really talks. She has those few people she really trusts, the ones she'd talk to about anything.
Ella joined her school friends at the local riding stables whens she was six years old - a choice she made, and never once regretted. People had always said that she was a natural, only needing the aid of a leader for a couple of lessons, getting her rising trot near perfect within a few tries, of course, with the help of small ponies, such as her favourite, Poppy, who she rode until she was eight before moving onto something more lively. Ella had always had a great passion for jumping, right from the moment she got out of the car, to witness a private jumping lesson, of which she got to watch the best of horses jump heights on freshly painted poles, allowing her to turn into the girl she is now - Showing at every chance she gets, with a horse she would have never dreamed about getting to work with, competing at Level Six show jumping. Owning a pony of her own had always been a dream for this girl, and from the age of fourteen, she was given the chance to almost loan a pony, but without the cost. Spending every free hour with the yards horses, she got the opportunity to begin to ride a mare who was coming back into work after having a foal, and until she was fifteen, Dixie was the thing she loved the most, treating her as if she was her own, with opportunities to show, and take day trips to hunt canters or simply the beach. And eventually, as a present for her sixteenth birthday, her equine-experienced father bought her a horse of her own, an animal who became her biggest challenge yet. The horse she was given was newly broken, on a learning basis over jumps, but was showing interest, a love and passion for the sport, it was in her blood. The mare, a perfect build for good height, was only four years old when Ella had become her owner, and therefore stands as a six year old today, with a measured height of sixteen-one hands high. And, with this horse, Ella wanted to get somewhere, she wanted to allow this horse to do what she was suppose to do, so she applied for her dream place, Red Rose Stables, and didn't tell her father until the acceptance letter marked her dream coming true.

Two years ago, when Amora was led from a horse box, she was a four year old, recently-broken mare, but nothing else. Her coat was scruffy, and she looked as if she had not let lost a winter coat, she hadn't shoes, and her mane was too long. She went by the name 'Blackie', and with her last owners, she was really just a project. Something to break in, and not care for. However, Ella's dad saw potential, and when the time came, so did she. For the first week, Ella didn't ride the mare. Instead, she cleaned her up, and brought out her proper summer coat in gleams, and pulled her mane, and allowed her to put on a bit of weight, as she sorted out fitting a saddle, and getting a bridle with a simple snaffle bit. For the first two months, the horse she renamed Amora, lived on the farm, out under the seasons sun, gaining weight on grass and building a bond with her new owner. At the beginning, Ella worked the mare a lot on the flat, before moving herself up to small jumps and so on, while her father looked into learning more about the horse. He got in contact with the mares breeder, an Irish man who bred her from is jumper mare and his cousins stallion. It was from there that the family worked up the mares full breeding, and got her a passport, and registered her as 'Noir Amour', meaning Black Love. It had turned out that the man they bought Amora from got her at a horse sales, after she had been imported from Ireland. They had her for two years, of which was spent on handling, and then they sent her off to be professionally broken, only for the mans kid to lose interest, forcing a sale. Now, after two years together, Ella and Amora have an inseperable bond. The mare canters to field gates to see her two-legged friend, and after such time together, they've done well for each other, both learning and fixing problems as a team. Almost a year after Ella got the mare, she started showing her in jumper competitions, and now, they compete in Level Six show jumping, at the height of 1.30-1.40, at the very most. The mare was clearly born to jump. She's no longer the mare she was two years ago, but a fully developed mare with a well conditioned coat, kept feet and a regularly pulled mane. She looks as well as many of the other show horses, and in many cases, better. The mare, with the traditional sport horse build, has a strong, arched neck and a sloping shoulder. From the thoroughbred breeding in an Irish Sport Horse, her whither are very slightly high, and she also has a deep chest and powerful hindquarters, which gives the mare a big, scopey jump. Her gaits are well collected and smooth, and when worked, she builds herself into a nice shape, rounding her back and arching her neck. Overall, Amora is a very brave and confident mare. She wouldn't stop at anything, not unless it would be dangerous to jump. Fillers, height, width, none of that's a problem for her. This mare, good effort all disciplines, would be just as happy in an arena of jumps, or a field of solid fences, and she rides just as well in a dressage ring.
