it's going to be a short post, but here it is.
cece, casey is open. c:
letting out a long, dreaded sigh followed by a groan caused by the heat and humidity, i slow my pace and wait for davis and austin to catch up. "can we take a quick break? we've been walking for about three hours." i say, pointing up in the sky. "the sun was just rising when we began moving, and now it right above our heads. plus, we need to find some water for austin." the dog looked up at me, his tongue bobbing from his jowls. the animal yawned and went ahead a few feet to a murky puddle and lapped up water until the small hole was dry and mud got it's way into his mouth. i chuckle and look at an un amused davis, his arms crossed. i can't see his expression because he wore a pair of shades that he found in an old grocery market. "fine, we can keep-" may words were cut off and i spun around at the sound of thud and austin growling at it. i immediately pull out my bow and have an arrow ready to strike a head. davis had his rifle ready, aiming at an ajar window with boards blocking it slightly. austin waits outside of the window while i peer around it, seeing nothing at the time. i allow the dog to jump through and inspect the premises before we did so. after moments of anxious silence, i couldn't wait anymore and slipped through the window and checked the other room. when i saw austin licking the face of a girl who lay on the stone floor, i snap my fingers. he follows the orders and comes to my side while my bow is ready again. "who are you?" i call to the girl. i take a step closer and raise my voice. "t-tell me!" he was trembling and was scared, he didn't want to have to kill her, but if it came down to it, he would have no other choice.
